It would be nice to have the bug retested on a newer LibO version (4.3.2.2 is
out) than the version reported in the original report to know that the bug is
still present -- sometimes a bug is inadvertently fixed over time and just
never
closed.

If you have time please do the following:
1) Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of
LibreOffice
2) If it is present please leave a comment telling us what version of
LibreOffice and your operating system.
3) If it is NOT present please set the bug to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a
short comment telling us your version and Operating System

Please DO NOT
1) Update the version field
2) Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
3) Set the bug to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that
is not appropriate in this case)

Drag A1:C1 downwards does nothing for me, it is inactive. It works only if you
drag A1:D1 that is at least one cell not merged right more.
Tested with version 4.1.6, 4.2.6.3, 4.3.4.0.0+ and 4.4.0.0.alpha1+ under Ubuntu
14.04 x86-64

I think that merging cells is not a kind of formatting. Merging cells changes
the structure of the sheet when formatting does not.

Copy paste is not intended to do the same as dragging downwards. Indeed when
you drag a cell with a contents, other cells are filled with a contents updated
(values incremented and formula updated) what it is not the case when you
simply copy paste (values not incremented).

So, for me, the bug description does not match the current behavior of Calc.

Please, could you explain further?

Set status to NEEDINFO. Please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have
provided requested informations. Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards. JBF

Hi,

I have re-tested with 4.3.2.2 (Windows 7 x86)

The test document 'A1 print problem' shows the dialogue boxes present for that
document. When print is selected, the print preview field shows 'legal' where
does this get inferred from?

My belief is that when 'fit to printable page' is selected, LO should see that
the printer is A4 and scale the document accordingly. perhaps I have
misunderstood the intention of this function.

If this can't be determined automatically then perhaps it would be better
solved by a new function 'print document on' with a print size selection?

It has been a long time, but from my initial post (and the confirmation) this
scale to print function must have worked in the earlier version.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85056] Writer crash after copy paste specific text

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85056

--- Comment #7 from grofaty grof...@hotmail.com ---
I have been searching the web and I see other non-LibreOffice users also
experience the same Python crash error. It looks like there is something wrong
with embed Python that is fighting with some other program that also has embed
Python in it.

http://blenderclan.tuxfamily.org/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=36497
https://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-list/2013-June/649908.html
https://superuser.com/questions/223556/can-not-make-work-python-in-windows-7-64-bits

I tried to search for other Python.exe files on my disk:

C:\dir python.exe /s
Volume in drive C has no label.
 Volume Serial Number is DCD7-FA64

 Directory of C:\Programs\ActiveStateKomodoEdit8\lib\python

06.06.2013 12:4527.136 python.exe

 Directory of C:\Programs\gimp2\Python

15.05.2013 21:4326.624 python.exe

 Directory of C:\Programs\LibreOffice4\program

18.09.2014 17:1619.232 python.exe

18.09.2014 12:1927.136 python.exe
   1 File(s) 27.136 bytes

What I can see from above result there are Komodo Edit and Gimp programs that
are also using embed Python.

I am using Windows in virtual machine, so I can play around and make several
clean tests. I did the following:

TEST 1
a) Uninstall Gimp.
b) Try to reproduce a problem in LibreOffice Writer also debugging with WebDbg
tool and there is Python crash in WebDbg.

TEST 2
c) Additionally uninstall Komodo Edit.
d) Try to reproduce a problem in LibreOffice Writer also debugging with WebDbg
tool and there is Python crash in WebDbg.

TEST 3
e) Additionally uninstall LibreOffice and manually delete
C:\Programs\LibreOffice4\ installation directory.
f) Install LibreOffice 4.3.2 (the same version that was installed up to know).
g) Try to reproduce a problem in LibreOffice Writer, but problem does not
appear any more! Problem solved.

It is possible that some Pyhton variables are prior to TEST 3 still pointed to
some other now non-existing path, so reinstall helped a bit. I will try to play
around when I have time to, to really see what is going on.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85396] New: Bad result of function SUM with matrix

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85396

Bug ID: 85396
Summary: Bad result of function SUM with matrix
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: r...@post.cz

Created attachment 108342
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=108342action=edit
test file

Steps to reproduce:
1) write data in sheet, cells A1:B3
141
22
33

2) write formula in cell {=SUM(A1:A314*B1:B3)} . Matrix formula (In order to
enter this as an array formula, you must press the Shift+ Ctrl+ Enter)

Actual result: 2

Expected result:5 (1*2+1*3)

See help https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Mathematical_Functions#SUM

Conditions linked by AND can be used with the function SUM() in the following
manner:

Example assumption: You have entered invoices into a table. Column A contains
the date value of the invoice, column B the amounts. You want to find a formula
that you can use to return the total of all amounts only for a specific month,
e.g. only the amount for the period =2008-01-01 to 2008-02-01. The range with
the date values covers A1:A40, the range containing the amounts to be totaled
is B1:B40. C1 contains the start date, 2008-01-01, of the invoices to be
included and C2 the date, 2008-02-01, that is no longer included.

Enter the following formula as an array formula:

=SUM((A1:A40=C1)*(A1:A40C2)*B1:B40)

In order to enter this as an array formula, you must press the Shift+ Ctrl+
Enter keys instead of simply pressing the Enter key to close the formula. The
formula will then be shown in the Formula bar enclosed in braces.

{=SUM((A1:A40=C1)*(A1:A40C2)*B1:B40)}

The formula is based on the fact that the result of a comparison is 1 if the
criterion is met and 0 if it is not met. The individual comparison results will
be treated as an array and used in matrix multiplication, and at the end the
individual values will be totaled to give the result matrix.

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85056

--- Comment #8 from grofaty grof...@hotmail.com ---
Hi,
I reverted virtual machine back to original state before TEST 1 in my previous
post, so now LibreOffice Writer crashes again as expected.

TEST 4
1. I didn't uninstall Gimp or Komodo Edit.
2. Uninstall LibreOffice 4.3.2.2
3. Manually delete C:\Programs\LibreOffice4 directory (this is directory where
I have had LibreOffice installed), to make sure all uninstall left overs are
removed. I haven't deleted profile from
C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4 - so profile hasn't been touched.
4. Install LibreOffice 4.3.2.2 (the same one as uninstalled) back to directory
C:\Programs\LibreOffice4
5. Try to reproduce the problem and I can't. So problem solved.

When I installed LibreOffice 4.3.2.2 I installed it over EXISTING installation
of LibreOffice 4.2.6.2 which was working fine without crashing.

I don't know it looks to me that there was some left over from previous
install. I always installed LibreOffice in existing installation. Maybe
something has left over from 4.2.6.2 or even one of the previous one.

So I suggest to look into installation program if it does everything as
expected.

P.S. I manage to fix the problem fighting with it several days, but some
non-technical user may just leave LibreOffice as broken.

Regards

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85402] New: LO loops after opening specific DOCX document

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85402

Bug ID: 85402
Summary: LO loops after opening specific DOCX document
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pavel.lastovi...@blue-point.cz

Created attachment 108345
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=108345action=edit
The document that triggers the bug.

I got reported one DOCX document, which causes LO to loop infinitely. The
document opens and its first page display. Looping starts after a few seconds
if user does not perform any action or immediately if user attempts to scroll
the document.

Tested on Windows on different versions of LO and AOO.

Normally the official TDF deb packages are built with internal curl,
handling SSL with NSS. Thus it needs libnsspem to be able to read the certs
from mozilla profile... which is now working with the .rpm and windows
 builds.
I can confirm this work with TDF rpm in CentOS as expected.

--- Comment #16 from Phil Hibbs sna...@gmail.com ---
The same thing happens if I delete row 3 first and then type in the formula
with the INDIRECT function call - any row beyond the row that was deleted is
not found by the VLOOKUP.

While experimenting, I have also managed to get it to return the wrong result.
The A column contains h, the C and D columns on Row 6 contain h and 7
respectively, but the VLOOKUP in the B column returns 8.

I will upload a screenshot showing the problem, as saved files ODS do not
exhibit the problem when re-opened.

Well, this test has been around for 6 months. And it works fine on various
Linux, Windows and OS X systems (this is the first time I hear of a problem).
This strongly suggests that the bug is in clang: it produces faulty code
somewhere.

If you want to debug this, the code is in
writerperfect/source/common/WPXSvInputStream.cxx. You need to determine why the
substream is created empty or why the isEnd() test thinks it is empty...
Relevant functions are WPXSvInputStreamImpl::getSubStreamByName (which
ultimately leads to ZipStorageImpl::getStream) and WPXSvInputStreamImpl::isEnd.

More CPU power surely makes that bug appearing less often. But no need to
reactivate your old machine, just zoom out to maybe 50%, maybe then it scrolls
again?! Still have the 1920x1200 display?

Even if the bug is not visible on superfast machines, or such with quiet
small monitors, it should be fixed. Since there was already a fix (for a
oo-fork) mentioned in the posts above, it should be very clear, where the
problem is. We just need a nice developer to have a look at it (looking with
big dog-eyes ;).

Did you check, on your own system, that dragging a merged cell is actually

Yes, I can drag merged cells around in the spreadsheet. But that has nothing to
do with copying and copy cell downwards using the dragging method (mouse).

Step 1 for incorrect result demonstration

I have isolated a set of steps that result in the WRONG value being returned,
which I consider much more serious than a blank value (it would be embarrassing
to send out an invoice with a blank value, but if I invoice a customer with an
incorrect value then that would be much worse).

1. Load the attached file
2. Delete row 5
3. Observe that the result in B3 for the VLOOKUP of g changes from 7 to 8,
which is the value that h would have returned

As with the earlier symptoms, saving the file after the delete and re-loading
does not exhibit the problem.

It occurs to me that the root cause of the problem appears to be that the
results of the VLOOKUP are being held in the form of a cell reference, i.e. the
VLOOKUP of g is stored in the form of The contents of Cell D7, and the
deletion of the row is not causing this cell reference to be re-assessed.

in 4.3.1.2 on WinXP:
- endnotes transform from arabic to roman, for example 3 becomes iii. But I am
not sure if it is a bug of LO or feature of doc format.
- additional paragraph in first note still appears
- endnote looks as footnote (appears on the same page) in Word. May be it is
feature of Word. Or bug.

So, in last version of LO problem remains.

Spreadsheet demonstrating how formulae are incorrectly sorted

When sorting a table, formulae should not be sorted. However, in this release
(4.3.2.2) formulae are being sorted. This breaks common usages, such as
cumulative sums or counts.

The attached spreadsheet shows two simple tables, each with a column of random
numbers and a column of row counts. The left table is unsorted, the right
table sorted on its first column. When the first column is sorted, the second
column (of row counts) is no longer correct.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85322] Formatting not copied using mouse

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85322

(In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #6)
I am not sure if we are speaking about the same thing. I try to reword:
What I mean is that when I select the merged cells and place the mouse
pointer on the black small square in the bottom right corner, the mouse
pointer becomes a +, and, normally, if I hold down the left button of the
mouse, I can drag downwards and the effect of this movement is to fill the
cells below with its updated contents.
What I say, is that, when I try to do that with a merged cell (like A1:C1 in
your description), it does not work, it does nothing. Is it the same for you
 ?
It works if I first drag right (to D1) then below.

 Best regards. JBF

Yes, it works for me as you describe, but you have to drag some rows downwards
before the lines becomes visible and the merged cell becomes copied, but that
is due to another bug I think.

If it is 2 merged cells you have to drag downwards 5 or more. If 3 merged cells
drag downwards 10 or more. Also non logical.

The problem is still present in 4.3.3.1, Linux.

Related to, maybe even justified by, the fact that xls originally didn't

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 31683] Calc: Unable to display axis tick intervals with arbitrary label data.

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31683

--- Comment #8 from Kevin Hunter hunt...@earlham.edu ---
(In reply to QA Administrators from comment #7)
Your bug was confirmed at least 1 year ago and has not had any activity on
it for over a year. Your bug is still set to NEW which means that it is open
and confirmed. It would be nice to have the bug confirmed on a newer version
than the version reported in the original report to know that the bug is
still present -- sometimes a bug is inadvertently fixed over time and just
 never closed.

Sigh. I recognize that LibO is largely a volunteer-based community, but this
style of interaction doesn't give bug reporters much incentive to provide
further bug reports. That is, I believe the initial post and requested
follow-up information -- all within the first hour after initial reporting in
2010 --*clearly* describe the problem / enhancement request: if
bugs/enhancement requests like this can time-out without any thought-process
or ownership from QA administrators or devs, then it is similarly not worth my
time to write the corresponding prose in the first place.

Annoyance aside, yes, this bug report/feature request is still a valid issue to
the best of my understanding of LibO 4.3 in Ubuntu 64-bit.

Lastly, good bug reports help tremendously in making the process go
smoother, please always provide reproducible steps (even if it seems easy)
and attach any and all relevant material

This particular bug report is not one of the weak ones (the issue -- no
method to display arbitrary axis labels -- is stated in the first sentence, and
there are three supporting documents -- a LibO-created spreadsheet, an
Excel-created version of same, and an image highlighting the proper behavior),
exacerbating my earlier point about bug reporter frustration. If the report
were weaker, I might better understand, but it's not and thus my grievance with
this LibO QA practice.

How to push for a quick solution?
 Can I propose a bounty?

Honestly? Find a developer and pay them fair wages. How you do this is up to
you, and a bounty is good option. However, you might have better luck
soliciting the services of a small development/consulting shop in your area --
folks with whom you can talk face-to-face. (Note that you might want to
require as part of your contract with said shop that they discuss their change
on the LibO development mailing list and must have their patch-set accepted
into master, etc.)

The biggest item lacking in much open source development is money, so if you
are motivated by this (or any problem) and have available funds, you can move
this process along. I'd certainly appreciate your efforts if you went this
route.

Kevin, that's not a fair comment, as almost all users of LibO (or any other
FOSS I guess) do not have the kind of money available to sponsor a software
developer.

Maybe if the ODF had some sort of 'donation-for-feature'/bounty bins, end-users
could pool money into them - but not individually.

Did you select Current selection in the Sort Range windows appearing when you
ask for Sort?

Hi Jacques. No, I didn't make an explicit selection. I simply click on the
column of interest and then click on the Sort Descending or Sort Ascending
icon. This is the method I have typically used in versions past.

Let me know if you need any further info.

 still same :(

Ok, in weird cases like this, it is advised to clear your user profile:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/User_Profile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile

On Windows, the profile folder to rename is
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user

--- Comment #3 from Miklos Vajna vmik...@collabora.co.uk ---
There are two problems with this on current master:

1) The document can't be opened at all, as we try to set a CustomShapeGeometry
property on a TextFrame and that aborts the importer.
2) If I use 4.3 to create the RTF file, then on master I can see the black
background as well. Sounds like the 0x fill color is stored as a signed
int32 somewhere, so it overflows and becomes black.
