It works only if you drag A1:D1 that is at least one cell not merged right more. Tested with version 4.1.6, 4.2.6.3, 4.3.4.0.0+ and 4.4.0.0.alpha1+ under Ubuntu 14.04 x86-64 I think that merging cells is not a kind of formatting. Merging cells changes the structure of the sheet when formatting does not. Copy paste is not intended to do the same as dragging downwards. Indeed when you drag a cell with a contents, other cells are filled with a contents updated (values incremented and formula updated) what it is not the case when you simply copy paste (values not incremented). So, for me, the bug description does not match the current behavior of Calc. Please, could you explain further? Set status to NEEDINFO. Please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have provided requested informations. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32346 --- Comment #11 from David Clayton dcclay...@bataltd.co.uk --- Hi, I have re-tested with 4.3.2.2 (Windows 7 x86) The test document 'A1 print problem' shows the dialogue boxes present for that document. When print is selected, the print preview field shows 'legal' where does this get inferred from? My belief is that when 'fit to printable page' is selected, LO should see that the printer is A4 and scale the document accordingly. perhaps I have misunderstood the intention of this function. If this can't be determined automatically then perhaps it would be better solved by a new function 'print document on' with a print size selection? It has been a long time, but from my initial post (and the confirmation) this scale to print function must have worked in the earlier version. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I am using Windows in virtual machine, so I can play around and make several clean tests. I did the following: TEST 1 a) Uninstall Gimp. b) Try to reproduce a problem in LibreOffice Writer also debugging with WebDbg tool and there is Python crash in WebDbg. TEST 2 c) Additionally uninstall Komodo Edit. d) Try to reproduce a problem in LibreOffice Writer also debugging with WebDbg tool and there is Python crash in WebDbg. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85396] New: Bad result of function SUM with matrix
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85396 Bug ID: 85396 Summary: Bad result of function SUM with matrix Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.2.2 release Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: r...@post.cz Created attachment 108342 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=108342action=edit test file Steps to reproduce: 1) write data in sheet, cells A1:B3 141 22 33 2) write formula in cell {=SUM(A1:A314*B1:B3)} . Matrix formula (In order to enter this as an array formula, you must press the Shift+ Ctrl+ Enter) Actual result: 2 Expected result:5 (1*2+1*3) See help https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Mathematical_Functions#SUM Conditions linked by AND can be used with the function SUM() in the following manner: Example assumption: You have entered invoices into a table. Column A contains the date value of the invoice, column B the amounts. You want to find a formula that you can use to return the total of all amounts only for a specific month, e.g. only the amount for the period =2008-01-01 to 2008-02-01. The range with the date values covers A1:A40, the range containing the amounts to be totaled is B1:B40. C1 contains the start date, 2008-01-01, of the invoices to be included and C2 the date, 2008-02-01, that is no longer included. Enter the following formula as an array formula: =SUM((A1:A40=C1)*(A1:A40C2)*B1:B40) In order to enter this as an array formula, you must press the Shift+ Ctrl+ Enter keys instead of simply pressing the Enter key to close the formula. The formula will then be shown in the Formula bar enclosed in braces. {=SUM((A1:A40=C1)*(A1:A40C2)*B1:B40)} The formula is based on the fact that the result of a comparison is 1 if the criterion is met and 0 if it is not met. The individual comparison results will be treated as an array and used in matrix multiplication, and at the end the individual values will be totaled to give the result matrix. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

TEST 4 1. I didn't uninstall Gimp or Komodo Edit. 2. Uninstall LibreOffice 4.3.2.2 3. Manually delete C:\Programs\LibreOffice4 directory (this is directory where I have had LibreOffice installed), to make sure all uninstall left overs are removed. I haven't deleted profile from C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4 - so profile hasn't been touched. 4. Install LibreOffice 4.3.2.2 (the same one as uninstalled) back to directory C:\Programs\LibreOffice4 5. Try to reproduce the problem and I can't. So problem solved. When I installed LibreOffice 4.3.2.2 I installed it over EXISTING installation of LibreOffice 4.2.6.2 which was working fine without crashing. I don't know it looks to me that there was some left over from previous install. I always installed LibreOffice in existing installation. Maybe something has left over from 4.2.6.2 or even one of the previous one. So I suggest to look into installation program if it does everything as expected. P.S. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85365 David Tardon dtar...@redhat.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||dtar...@redhat.com --- Comment #2 from David Tardon dtar...@redhat.com --- Well, this test has been around for 6 months. And it works fine on various Linux, Windows and OS X systems (this is the first time I hear of a problem). This strongly suggests that the bug is in clang: it produces faulty code somewhere. If you want to debug this, the code is in writerperfect/source/common/WPXSvInputStream.cxx. You need to determine why the substream is created empty or why the isEnd() test thinks it is empty... I will try on my older machine next week. More CPU power surely makes that bug appearing less often. But no need to reactivate your old machine, just zoom out to maybe 50%, maybe then it scrolls again?! Still have the 1920x1200 display? Even if the bug is not visible on superfast machines, or such with quiet small monitors, it should be fixed. Since there was already a fix (for a oo-fork) mentioned in the posts above, it should be very clear, where the problem is. Load the attached file 2. Delete row 5 3. Observe that the result in B3 for the VLOOKUP of g changes from 7 to 8, which is the value that h would have returned As with the earlier symptoms, saving the file after the delete and re-loading does not exhibit the problem. It occurs to me that the root cause of the problem appears to be that the results of the VLOOKUP are being held in the form of a cell reference, i.e. the VLOOKUP of g is stored in the form of The contents of Cell D7, and the deletion of the row is not causing this cell reference to be re-assessed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85322 --- Comment #7 from p_kongs...@op.pl --- (In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #6) I am not sure if we are speaking about the same thing. I try to reword: What I mean is that when I select the merged cells and place the mouse pointer on the black small square in the bottom right corner, the mouse pointer becomes a +, and, normally, if I hold down the left button of the mouse, I can drag downwards and the effect of this movement is to fill the cells below with its updated contents. What I say, is that, when I try to do that with a merged cell (like A1:C1 in your description), it does not work, it does nothing. Is it the same for you ? It works if I first drag right (to D1) then below. Best regards. JBF Yes, it works for me as you describe, but you have to drag some rows downwards before the lines becomes visible and the merged cell becomes copied, but that is due to another bug I think. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 31683] Calc: Unable to display axis tick intervals with arbitrary label data.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31683 --- Comment #8 from Kevin Hunter hunt...@earlham.edu --- (In reply to QA Administrators from comment #7) Your bug was confirmed at least 1 year ago and has not had any activity on it for over a year. Your bug is still set to NEW which means that it is open and confirmed. It would be nice to have the bug confirmed on a newer version than the version reported in the original report to know that the bug is still present -- sometimes a bug is inadvertently fixed over time and just never closed. Sigh. I recognize that LibO is largely a volunteer-based community, but this style of interaction doesn't give bug reporters much incentive to provide further bug reports. That is, I believe the initial post and requested follow-up information -- all within the first hour after initial reporting in 2010 --*clearly* describe the problem / enhancement request: if bugs/enhancement requests like this can time-out without any thought-process or ownership from QA administrators or devs, then it is similarly not worth my time to write the corresponding prose in the first place. Annoyance aside, yes, this bug report/feature request is still a valid issue to the best of my understanding of LibO 4.3 in Ubuntu 64-bit. Lastly, good bug reports help tremendously in making the process go smoother, please always provide reproducible steps (even if it seems easy) and attach any and all relevant material This particular bug report is not one of the weak ones (the issue -- no method to display arbitrary axis labels -- is stated in the first sentence, and there are three supporting documents -- a LibO-created spreadsheet, an Excel-created version of same, and an image highlighting the proper behavior), exacerbating my earlier point about bug reporter frustration. If the report were weaker, I might better understand, but it's not and thus my grievance with this LibO QA practice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52048 --- Comment #8 from Kevin Hunter hunt...@earlham.edu --- (In reply to Emanuele Gissi from comment #7) How to push for a quick solution? Can I propose a bounty? Honestly? Find a developer and pay them fair wages. How you do this is up to you, and a bounty is good option. However, you might have better luck soliciting the services of a small development/consulting shop in your area -- folks with whom you can talk face-to-face. (Note that you might want to require as part of your contract with said shop that they discuss their change on the LibO development mailing list and must have their patch-set accepted into master, etc.) The biggest item lacking in much open source development is money, so if you are motivated by this (or any problem) and have available funds, you can move this process along. I'd certainly appreciate your efforts if you went this route. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
