commita7eed1e17cfb101210db8aa839171f00d0730582 (patch)

Make Draw use paper size when printing - fdo#63905
Previously, Draw/Impress use the default size from the printer. Now Draw uses
the paper size (specified in page formatting). Impress still uses the old
method - not sure if this is correct but printing handouts etc probably
complicate print/paper size.

That commit fixed Bug 63905 - FORMATTING: Page format in draw is not sent to
the printer.

(In Draw, there is a feature to Distribute on multiple sheets of paper when
printing. But the fix to bug 63905 makes this useful feature broken).

I'm not sure we're talking about the same bug.

The original bug reported the backspace key being blocked inside input fields,
in a regular, non-protected section. Delete key works ok. I confirmed this bug
on OS X in all 4.3.x versions.

IMHO it's important to keep to word Horizontally, to indicate that it centers
only horizontally. You can see what I mean, when a cell is higher that the text
height. And there is similar (hidden) button Align Center Vertically, which
does only vertial alignment.

--- Comment #10 from Winfried Donkers winfrieddonk...@libreoffice.org ---
I can reproduce the behaviour on all machines in our company, but process
explorer and proces monitor from sysinternals just show an increase in CPU-%
for Outlook (see comment #6, on some machines it rises to 40% for more than 4
seconds) and a huge number of process lines from OUTLOOK and other, possibly
related processes (a.o. indexer, McAfee).

It may well be that a third application/process (with Outlook and LibreOffice
being the 2 others) has a role in it. And as the problem is a delay when mving
the caret in an Outlook message, I see no way to use windebug to catch
something in LibreOffice.

Setting the status to unconfirmed and hoping that someone else experiences a
likewise problem but has more clues.

Test case file

Problem description:
I've created a stock chart with 4 data series. Calc only saves the format of
the first series. When the file is re-opened, all but the first series go back
to a default thin black line.

Steps to reproduce:

0. Update to latest Calc version (4.3.3.2)
1. Open the attached Calc file Test File.ods
2. Double-click on chart to select it
3. Select the first Y data point in the A column
4. Right click and select Format Data Series
5. Reformat as Red with 0.10cm width
6. Click OK
7. The series Y is now displayed as Red bars as expected
8. Save the file
9. Close Calc
10. Start Calc
11. Open the file Test File.ods
12. The format for series Y has gone back to black!

Current behavior:
Format for all data series for stock chart are not saved

Expected behavior:
Format for all data series for stock chart should be saved

Joel, I've been doing QA from back in 2004 or so.
The summary of this bug already explains how to reproduce.
(I would love to see more attention for that key information, rather then some
... :( )

Missing glyphs are substituted with no control over the process and no good

--- Comment #11 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@collabora.com ---
Moving the caret - that's really odd. Of course it could be IAccessible - try
disabling a11y [ if that's even possible anymore on windows - I think there is
an environment variable for that though if you grok the code in vcl /
winaccessibility ]. Then again, that wasn't present in 3.6.5 =)
It could be thumbnailing attachments (I guess) - if we do that.
It'd be interesting to know if sysinternals shows what is happening on the
system when you move the caret: is a file saved (perhaps we're being used to
thumbnail that or something ? ;-)

Very odd.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83456] Image in master slide is tripled

The university logo image is tripled in the file, too.

If you check the coordinates, you can see that they do not overlap exactly. The
blue line also can be found in the file:

draw:frame draw:style-name=Mgr3 draw:text-style-name=MP3
draw:layer=backgroundobjects svg:width=27cm svg:height=0.081cm
svg:x=0.5cm svg:y=4.6cmdraw:image

xlink:show=embed xlink:actuate=onLoadtext:p//draw:image/draw:frame

I cannot tell, if older versions were buggy, because they didn't show these
elements, or the newer versions are buggy, because they show them. But there is
a workaround: remove them from master slide.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85793] Multiple links in a single cell work only with left text alignment

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85793

--- Comment #2 from Calabar cala...@tiscalinet.it ---
Thanks Terry.

I want to add two things (I thought I wrote that, but apparently I did not):
- When I change the alignment, the operation is not destructive, and the
original target of the link is preserved. If I change the alignment to left,
the original links return to work properly again.
- If I access the cell containing the multiple links in edit mode, the links
seems to work properly even if the alignment is not left. But only in edit
mode.

PS: as Calc has an edit mode for the cells, would it be better to access a
link with a simple click instead than with CTRL+Click?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 38082] Add separate bounding box on/off control in export to EPS, PDF and similar formats

--- Comment #10 from Milos Sramek msrame...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to Joel Madero from comment #9)
Never confirmed by QA team - moving to UNCONFIRMED.
Hi,
Unfortunately, this bug was originally filed in a bad way - it addressed two
separate (but related) problems. Thus I suggest to limit its scope to just the
issue of separate controls (which is more like feature request) and to handle
the missing bounding box in bug 55317. I find bug 55317 to be much more
important.

New formulation of the problem:

LO Draw can currently export EPS files with a tight bounding box. This feature
is, however, coupled with the Selection control. Bounding Box and Selection
are, however, two different features. So I propose to add a new independent
check box Bounding Box in the EPS export dialog.

Consequences of this status are:
1. One can export a full page (say, A4) with all content
2. One can export selected objects with a tight bounding box
3. One CANNOT export a full page with only selected objects

Separation of the controls for selection and bounding box would allow for the
3-rd option too.

If possible, I suggest to implement this also for pdf export and eventually
other formats which have the bounding box feature.

How to check the current functionality (tested with LO4.4 alpha):
1. Export of everything, full page
a. open Draw and draw two objects: a circle and a star
b. choose File Export, select Eps and press Save.
c. Open the eps file in a viewer: you can see a full (A4) page with two objects
on it

2. Export of a selected object with a tight bounding box
a. open Draw and draw two objects: a circle and a star
b. Select the star object
c. Choose File Export, select Eps, check the Selection field down left and
press Save.
d. Open the eps file in a viewer: you can see just the object with no extra
space around it

There is no possibility how to achieve option 3.
Is this description sufficient to change status of the bug to NEW?

This was accidental, the status is initialised and I forgot to change.

We need to remember the tiles that have been already rendered, so that when the

need of re-rendering them.

If we need to throw away some, do that based on their last use - start with
those unused for the longest amount of time, or so.

Joel, are you claiming that issue described by the first post is not
reproducible? It is for me. Or that the creation of a document from scratch is
not described? If so I will create a new bug report.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85847] New: android: Implement layers of tiles instead of a huge background image

2014-11-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85847

Bug ID: 85847
Summary: android: Implement layers of tiles instead of a huge
background image
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ke...@collabora.com

At the moment, we use one large background image for the user to see where
about he/she is in the document. This has 2 problems, especially with large
documents:

* The entire document has to be rendered on startup, which eats terrible amount
  of time

* The bitmap has so bad resolution, that it looks confusing, and is mostly
  unusable.

Instead of one large bitmap, we need several layers that contain tiles of lower
and lower resolution.

Layer 1: The tiles at 1:1 zoom

Layer 2: Tiles at 1:4

Layer 3: Tiles at 1:16

Layer 4: Tiles at 1:64

Layer 5: Tiles at 1:256

...

Layer X: Just 1 tile at 1:4^(X-1)

This is not a huge amount of tiles - we are not supposed to keep all of them,
we can throw away the ones on X-1 layers variously, as in bug 85846.

On startup, the layers should be filled in this way:

* First Layer 1 - the tiles that intersect the visible area (so that the user
gets the view as the first thing).

* Then the some higher layer, like Layer 3, again only the tiles that intersect
the visible area + one tile before + one tile after (so that the scrolling
immediately gives ~something)

* Then (when idle) the higher layers, up to Layer X - so that there is always
something to render, without having to fetch it first

On scroll, always present the highest quality - can happen to be a combination
of various layers, combining the worse and better quality; but fetch the best
ones accordingly.

Thanks but that is the 64-bit build that I installed
(LibreOffice_4.3.3_MacOS_x86-64.dmg), automatically proposed by libreoffice

So it seems that there is a problem with the 64-bit version of LibreOffice

It is also not merged to master yet, only lives in a branch...

I confirm.
The result is nearly identical both with printing to PDF and exporting.
On exporting, the cells with vertical text on the 1st page have more text
visible than when printing. My PDF export has text visible in three more cells
compared to PITRider's Windows export.

PITRider's Linux export looks nearly perfect - only some text contents going
outside their cells.

As noted in comment 4, the file is indeed a bit freeze-prone.

Actions taken (Windows7, Outlook2010, LO4.2.7):
-open new Calc document (and minimize)
-open Outlook
-open new E-Mail message
-type lines
-start processmonitor
-cut some text (Ctrl-X) and move caret some lines down
-save processmonitor log

What looks strange to me is line 300, where soffice starts a thread. Why would
that be?

It is not doable for me to time my actions with the lines in the log, the
processmonitor makes me dizzy.

I'm sorry to see that in 4.4 the button for the Navigator is removed from the
standard tool bar .. When there is some room left .. ;)
Maybe it's not so much used, but we should encourage the use, by making it more
visible!

Now my idea: When there are notes in a document, there is the little control
top-left (hidden when the scaling is too large in combination with the side bar
..)

Now, top right there is some space too. Add a control 'Navigator' there.
And then make sure that the Navigator opens in docked state by default..

Opinions?

Clearing all direct formatting shows the text entries that reference the
footnotes as being in Italic, this is surely wrong too.

However, resetting style to Default text does not change the Footnote style.
Resetting the footnotestylr to default text and then re-applying the footnote
style to footnote 4 doesn't achieve the desired result either.

A few days ago, after getting a new computer, I installed the newest version
(4.3) and really loved the new design and changes you made to fit Yosemite BUT
the right-to-left support is completely ruined - it is now impossible to
combine numbers in a Hebrew text, as you cannot add a space between the text
and numbers (same thing happens when trying to combine Latin letters as well).
This has forced me to downgrade to 4.2.7 for better right-to-left-support.

--- Comment #15 from Beluga todven...@suomi24.fi ---
The only things I could reproduce:
* The height of the last row doesn't adjust to the text content. if your text
oversize the row, the the text is outside the table.. until you move the table
* sometimes the edges are not there where the edges of the table are supposed
to be (see the screenshot attached).

The last one happens after inserting a new row with tab or after adding text so
it flows outside the row like in the first problem.

I recommend Pierre or Gerry to test with 4.4 alpha and create separate bugs for
the remaining reproducable problems.

File with 2 pages. On page break newpage count LO considers 3 pages

LibreOfffice 4.3.3.2 Ubuntu 14.04 64bit
How to get this error:

3) on navigator (and in page count) even if there's only 2 pages, it counts 3

I would not consider this to be a bug either, it works as designed. Changing
table or query definitions saves data in a different part of the database
container file, which then has to be saved globally for the odb container.

I also agree that this could be a request for enhancement, setting as such.
