@Larry : are you still having the same problem with a recent production version
of LibreOffice and the 1.02 connector ?

Please retest and report back here, otherwise I fear that this bug report will
be closed for lack of sufficient information to attempt to reproduce.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89110] LibreOffice Calc crashes when soffice.bin reaches 1.600.000 K RAM in Taskmanager (out of memory)

2015-02-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89110

--- Comment #8 from Jonas Müller fors...@mailbox.org ---
I tried it with a fresh installation of LibreOffice 4.4.0.3 portable at work
and while working on the price list the memory quickly fills up to 1.673.XXX K
however it stays that way even when scrolling trough the whole file!

That's a huge improvement.

However I then decided to close this file while memory consumption was still at
1.673.XXX K. LibreOffice asked me whether I wanted to save the changes, I
clicked no and LibreOffice crashed with the fatal error osl::Thread::create
failed.

Screenshot:
https://office.mailbox.org/publications/documents/2570616/f2ddb2f8ecaa2666cea3372a310363a6

Tried it again at home with the normal Version LibreOffice 4.4.0.3 on the same
file and here soffice.bin reaches its maximum at about 1.570.000 K however when
I double click a cell to edit it, LibreOffice also crashes with the Thread
create failed error.

If I do the same when memory consumption is just a bit below this mark (e.g.
1.555.000 K) then it doesn't crash.

It seems like there is some kind of memory limit that LibreOffice exceeds when
you start using a new feature while memory allocation is at its max.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58358] VIEWING Scrolling broken - page totally distorted

2015-02-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58358

--- Comment #40 from Heinz Repp heinz.r...@arcor.de ---
Hmm, @Patrick/#38:

As I reported earlier (#14), on my system this happens only in print layout
mode, not web layout mode. And it happens with scrolling, but not with changing
the zoom factor. In fact, changing the zoom factor redraws the screen correctly
after messing up, this is why it was a workaround in earlier versions, but in
recent I did not find any safe zoom levels greater than whole page that did
not expose this bug *when srcolling*. And on my system this only happens with
Writer, and not with Calc which I use heavily. And it does not matter which
format, it happens with odt, doc and docx.

and @N/@36+37:
Judging from your screenshot this is a totally different appearance and a
totally different bug than this one. This bug repeats horizontal stripes when
you scroll, yours has letters shifted sideways. It reminds me of one bug
reported for the Mac bug (#56932) - maybe you should report there.

Just for the record: 4.4.0.3 still has this bug (for me: introduced with 3.6.0,
not seen up to 3.5.7).

@Stuart Foote/#30:
It would be helpful to get more precise Steps to Reproduce and specific
 hardware/OS/driver combinations for testing.

This seems only to happen in rare combinations (else we would see a lot more
activity here), so I doubt we can reproduce it easily on a developer's machine.
My system consistently exposes this bug, on Ubuntu 12.04 through all updates to
LTS-raring kernelsvideo, after upgrade to 14.04 and still after changing
kernel to LTS-utopic (3.16); it happens with and without hardware acceleration:
when enabled glxinfo reports:
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI R200 (RV280 5960) x86/MMX+/3DNow!+/SSE2 TCL
 DRI2
latest driver is xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:7.3.0-1ubuntu3.1
Chipset: ATI Radeon 9250 5960 (AGP) (ChipID = 0x5960)

1) There is not enough information in the initial bug report to event attempt
to reproduce :

- which database ? - embedded hsqldb, mysql, postgres, Mac addressbook, some
other db engine ?
- how is it connected : LO provided driver, some other extension or a jdbc /
odbc connector ?
- what exactly is being attempted - detailed instructions need to be provided.

The test needs to be carried out on a recent production version of LibreOffice.

As this report has received no reply from the original poster in nearly a year,
it is highly likely that it will be closed shortly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89312] New: 'csv' Files are Opened as Text Documents if Writer is the Active Window

2015-02-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89312

Bug ID: 89312
Summary: 'csv' Files are Opened as Text Documents if Writer is
the Active Window
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

A csv file is generally used to store structured data which can be represented
in a spreadsheet. Hence to my opinion csv files should be opened with Calc by
default. Only if a user explicitly selects “Text document” a csv file should be
opened with Writer. This is currently not always the case or possible.
Steps in order to reproduce the bug.

[A] First case:
(1) Start LO and create new text document.
(2) Open a file with the extension 'csv' from the menu: File Open... The open
file dialogue of Windows is displayed. In the status line the filter “All files
(*.*)” is selected.
(3) Select a csv file and click “Open”. The csv file is loaded as text
document. Expected: csv file should be opened as spreadsheet by default even it
is opened from a text document.

[B] Second case:
(1) Start LO and create new text document.
(2) Open a file with the extension 'csv' from the menu: File Open... The open
file dialogue of Windows is displayed. In the status line the filter “All files
(*.*)” is selected.
(3) Select “Spreadsheets (…;*.csv)” as filter.
(4) Select a csv file and click “Open”... The csv file is loaded as text
document. Expected: csv file should be opened as spreadsheet. In this case even
if the user selects the option spreadsheet the file is opened as text document.

[C] Third case: You like to open a csv file explicitly as text document.
(1) Start LO.
(2) File Open…
(3) Select filter “Text documents (*.oth; ...)”. csv files are not displayed.
Hence csv files can't be opened now as text documents. Expected: Also csv files
should be displayed.

[D] 4. case:
(1) Start LO and Create new text document.
(2) Open a file with the extension 'csv' from the menu: File Open... The open
file dialogue of Windows is displayed. In the status line the filter “All files
(*.*)” is selected.
(3) Select “Text CSV (*.csv)” as filter.
(4) Select a csv file and click “Open”... The csv file dialogue is opened and
the file is opened as spreadsheet when you click OK. Here the behaviour is OK.

Additional hint: In some older bug reports files with extension 'tsv'
(tab-separated values, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab-separated_values)
are mentioned. It seemed to me that there is a special treatment in LibreOffice
similar to csv files. If this is the case, files with these extensions should
be treated completely equal to csv files. This is currently not the case in the
file filters of the file open dialogue, files with the extension tsv are not
mentioned there.

The second when I tried enlarging the controls selected together, as per bug

I put a label in the header section and a text box in the footer section.
Then I selected both with the mouse and Cmd button.
Next, I tried to enlarge the size of both controls simultaneously by dragging a
corner handle diagonally.

LO hangs and beachball of aplication wait starts spinning

this so I am desperate. I can't think of a setting to try. I have deleted the
program and reinstalled it and I still have the problem. Please help. I need
it now not at some future date but now. I went on the Internet to see if
others may know how to solve the problem; it is apparent that others have had
the problem but the answers that were offered did not help.

~/.config/
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Not sure how to replicate this, but i found this tweet and thought it would be
useful to see if it was true.

Linux Lessons: #libreoffice exits with no error message if the user running it
doesn't have an existing ~/.config/ that they own.

We looked at those possibilities and none of them looked relevant. So as of now
just for an update we're looking at 10k+ commits that could be responsible for
the regression which is unfortunate. I'll keep you informed about any updates

Apparently this feature was designed to be bug-compatible to MS Excel:
http://www.openoffice.org/specs/calc/compatibility/HyperLinkFunction.sxw

The following will magically work and turn into a link in excel:
=IF(0;HYPERLINK(a,b);http://documentfoundation.org/;);

Therefore, this is indended but, unfortunately, broken behaviour. Setting to
Resolved - not our bug. If upstream (=Microsoft) fixes this, we also will.

Original ODT file

Hi,

When saving the attached document as doc, the first table block is corrupted
when opening with word 2013.

Steps:
1- Download attached odt file and save as docx
2- Open the document with Word 2013, an error will popup and say the file is
corrupted. Some part of the first table block becomes rectangular whitespace.

Saving with LibreOffice 4.3.2 is fine. No errors opening with Word

Since I use this functionality quite often, I thought that this extension

It resides in the dialog Styles and Formatting, icon top right, click-hold.

Can you please describe it little better or attach a screenshot?
Do you mean Load Styles... icon? If so, that's not the same as template

I found the reason row heights corruption.

In source xls (with xml format) we have tag
Row ss:Height=27.47

After modify row heights in LO and saving this file we have tag:
Row ss:Height=14,1449

So, I think, this is parsing error: dot and comma as separator.

Minor - can slow down professional quality work but will not prevent it.
Low - workaround is pretty straight forward (just delete the original one)

Possibly an easy hack - suggesting it for that.

OK, but even if not shown by default, when toolbar is activated where to
position it? Seems a simple adjustment to target its anchor to left edge
 when not floating.

Didnt fully get what you meant here. Presently the presentation toolbar is
positioned on the right of the standard toolbar and when a user activates
master slide mode, the presentation toolbar is disabled.

Might also need to add additional button actions from the toolbar to the
 Slides slide pane's context menu?

Can you mention which ones you think need adding as i dont see any.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89298

--- Comment #4 from Marina Latini mar...@studiostorti.com ---
Hi Antanas,

Tested with lt interface but I can't reproduce.
In version 4.4.0.3 LibreOffice uses OpenCL. What about your graphics card? Mine
is an Intel® Ivybridge Mobile and I'm using Gnome desktop.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39316] Data corruption in array formulas

2015-02-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39316

--- Comment #12 from Eike Rathke er...@redhat.com ---
(In reply to James from comment #0)
A1:B19 = The named range TestRange
 C1:D19 = The array formula {=TestRange}
 E1:F19 = The array formula {=ISBLANK(TestRange)}
 G1:H19 = The array formula {=ISBLANK(C1:D19)}

You will see the bug immediately: cell G1 shows FALSE, when it should show
 TRUE.

Not true. ISBLANK() returns true only if a cell is blank, does not contain data
nor a formula, not if it displays as blank.

This same bug will also cause formulas to fail. Cell I1 contains the
formula =C1+5, which returns the error Wrong data type.

Which is only indirectly related. Here it seems the operator '+' can't cope
with the empty matrix element.

@James:
It would had been helpful to not mix various cases of whatsoever you noticed,
be it related to arrays or not. Regarding SUM and PRODUCT, they ignore
non-value cells by definition and thus may produce results where operator '+'
and '*' may produce an error. And of course PRODUCT uses the start value 1 for
its series. All major spreadsheet applications do it this way.

@Beluga:
Does your confirmed mean you tested all what was mentioned here, or just the
original problem?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50699] Template Changer: Allow ability to change a document's associated template

2015-02-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Template Changer 1.2.7c (the one you attached here) seems to work for me on LO
4.4.0.3., installed in a clean profile on W7 64bit. I use Template Changer for
documents on which I assign a template. Try one with different first page
(logo) and you'll see that loading styles is sth. different. Bug 89286 looks
like a duplicate to me.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50639] Format Paint Brush doesn't change background highlighted text color to 'no fill'

2015-02-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon

(In reply to Jorendc from comment #6)
  (In reply to comment #4)
   3. in first line select word auto - click 'Format Paintbrush', click
   on
  word green
As expected, word green stays green, because local formatting has
priority to auto character color of word auto
Oh ok, didn't know that... That explains why the color didn't change with my
  test :-).

Unfortunately, I still do not understand this. Maybe somebody can help me?
As a simple user I want to transfer a formatting with the Paintbrush
function and not to think about anything like local formatting priority
(which I myself do not know yet). This is from my point of view not
 intuitive and could frustrate users.

Trust me, you're not the only one. There is another related bug about local
formatting taking priority over styles which I think is entirely unintuitive.
If you'd like to comment on that bug suggesting that the UX teams accept the
change feel free to do so. bug 83726

Can't reproduce in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS LO Version: 4.2.7.2 Build ID:
420m0(Build:2). Two attached monitors using nvidia optimus on Thinkpad T420s.

Can you reproduce the problem with more recent libreoffice versions? This is
probably a symptom for some uncatched errors in a special cases. Can you run
strace or gdb with enabled debug symbols?

  To reproduce this bug:
  * Create a new calc document
  * Create a comment in cell A1 such as test comment.
  * Copy this cell down through A3200 and save the file.
  * Copy cell A1 from A3201 through A3300 and save the file.

You should get the error - Error saving the document MyDoc:Write Error.
The file could not be written.

 I can confirm with LO 4.3.5, win7.

I've reconfirmed this bug with LO 4.4.0 win7

To reproduce:
- insert 2 picture in Calc, one picture anchored to Page, other picture
anchored to Cell (in different rows)
- select rows with pictures, right-click for Optimal row hight, and OK on
default value of 0,0 cm
- after Optimal row hight, you see that picture anchored to Page is visible,
but picture anchored to Cell is NOT visible (shrunk to minimal cell height)
