[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90095] New: UI: Close button acts as OK

2015-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90095

Bug ID: 90095
Summary: UI: Close button acts as OK
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pierre-yves.sa...@laposte.net

Hi

Platform: Windows 7/64 Version: 4.4.1.1 Build ID:
b5ac74bf8683a92078a2bc8aff97d4b436af63cb Locale: fr_FR

Pressing the close button of a dialog has the same result as clicking the
OK button.

Steps to reproduce:

First Issue: In Writer, Calc... (not from the Start Center)

1.File Templates Manage
2.Click to select a template
3.Click Delete in the toolbar.

Expected actual result: dialog opens Do you want to delete...

4.Close the dialog with the close button (the cross, not Yes, not No
buttons).

Expected: deletion is canceled
Actual result: template deleted

Second example

1.File New Text
2.Right click Default Style in the Styles formatting panel of the sidebar
then New, Organize tab, replace Untitled1 by what you want (e.g. Foo)
3.Change tab (e.g. click Indents Spacing). We can see that the name of the
new style is already in the list
4.Close the dialog with the close button (cross): style remains.
5.Right click the foo style, you can not delete.
6.Save and reload the document: ghost style has disappeared.

I set severity Major because of the possible loss of data (template).

Regards
Pierre-Yves

If you format the Lines on page one and than edit page two it may be that the
line on page one change their characteristics if you take a look at it later.

When I create multilateral flowcharts in DRAW the connecting lines in the pages
that are not in the focus have changed their characteristics if I check them
next time. In earlier times I used OpenOffice for the same flowchards and I
never noticed that behavior with that.

If you have concrete questions, ask by e-mail or on IRC. Otherwise, everything
is there in the code--just check how the other shapes are implemented and the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63416] FILTER: autofilter -- first row lock

2015-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Created attachment 114181
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114181action=edit
Code parts responsible for current behaviour

Thanks for your explanation according to priorities. Since there is a
workaround (fill empty column headers with a space) the priority is minor.

I've analysed the code by using the online git view since I do not have a LibO
development environment.

Basically, the following lines of code are responsible for the current
behaviour:

void ScGridWindow::UpdateAutoFilterFromMenu(AutoFilterMode eMode) {
...
bool bHasHeader = pDoc-HasColHeader(
aSortParam.nCol1, aSortParam.nRow1, aSortParam.nCol2, aSortParam.nRow2,
nTab);

aSortParam.bHasHeader = bHasHeader;

bool ScTable::HasColHeader( SCCOL nStartCol, SCROW nStartRow, SCCOL nEndCol,
SCROW /* nEndRow */ ) const
{
for (SCCOL nCol=nStartCol; nCol=nEndCol; nCol++)
{
CellType eType = GetCellType( nCol, nStartRow );
if (eType != CELLTYPE_STRING  eType != CELLTYPE_EDIT)
return false;
}
return true;
}

I've attached the relevant code parts responsible for autofilter sorting, see
attachment.

Lacking an IDE, I do not know how often ScTable::HasColHeader is used and what
the impact of a change of this method would be.

This autofilter sorting feature was added with commit
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=2a755c0cd61b619ed14e023ad34fc7596eafdf34

Currently, I do not know what a correct solution would be.

Additionally, there is a warning dialog shown if the autofilter is applied with
empty cells in the header: The range does not contain column headers.
Do you want the first line to be used as column header? This behaviour should
be considered too.

I would like to set one margin - doesn't matter which one, could be Top or
Bottom or Left or Right and then click a button called Mirror Margins and
have that one margin setting mirrored in all the other margins.

For example if I set the top margin to: 0.5 and click Mirror Margins then
all the other margins: Bottom, Left and Right would be set to 0.5

  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fdb...@neosheffield.co.uk

Split from bug 90095

Original reproduction instructions:

1.File New Text
2.Right click Default Style in the Styles formatting panel of the sidebar
then New, Organize tab, replace Untitled1 by what you want (e.g. Foo)
3.Change tab (e.g. click Indents Spacing). We can see that the name of the
new style is already in the list
4.Close the dialog with the close button (cross): style remains.
5.Right click the foo style, you can not delete.
6.Save and reload the document: ghost style has disappeared.

The same appears to apply to creating new styles in the Paragraph Styles, Frame
Styles and Numbering Styles dialogs. Page Styles appears to successfully create
a style when you close the window, and Character Styles appears to successfully
clean up the half-made style when you close the window (which could both be
reasonable, but are inconsistent)

Bug ID: 90097
Summary: FILEOPEN: RTF drawing lines where Flip attribute is
set are not mirrored
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer

  Reporter: khora...@seznam.cz

Writer and Word result compare screenshot

Some parameters of shape imported from Microsoft RTF file format are not
processed.

{\sp{\sn fRelFlipH}{\sv 0}} - normal draw element
{\sp{\sn fRelFlipH}{\sv 1}} - in this case should be values of relLeft and
relRight of the current draw element switched before drawing element

or

{\sp{\sn fRelFlipV}{\sv 1}} - switch relTop and relBottom values.

Excepting of this, RTF drawing import works excellently for me, thanks a lot
for adding RTF drawing import, i was voting for it long time before :)

spreadsheet file created in the previous version of Calc (4.3.X)

Overview:
Calc document, once flawlessly saved in previous version of LO, opens without
an issue in LO 4.4.1.2. However, once saved, closed and reopened, the image
inserted in header disappears and cannot be retrieved.

Steps to Reproduce:

1) Open document with image in header created/saved in previous version (4.3.X)
2) Check 'print preview' to ensure the image still exists in header.
3) Save in LibreOffice 4.4.1.2
4) Close and reopen the document.
5) Check 'print preview' for the missing image in header.

Actual Results: The image in header previously shown disappears.

Expected Results: The image in header remains where it last existed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90100] New: The function DAYS() returns non-interger values

2015-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90100

Bug ID: 90100
Summary: The function DAYS() returns non-interger values
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Reporter: nefil...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 114186
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114186action=edit
Bug example (in sheet Calcul, cells H14 and I14)

Hello.

I am doing operations with the functions DAYS(), INDIRECT() and ADDRESS() and
have abnormal results.

I finally found that the problem comes from the value returned by the function
DAYS(), which are not integers.

In the attached example, go to sheet 'Calcul' and cell H14 (coloured in dark
pink). You may see that the cell contains the formula =DAYS(D14;C14) which
returns as value 364,9724537300.

Thus when I lated use this value to find a cell reference as done in the cell
I14 (formula : =ADDRESS($H14;B$22)), the result is wrong ($H$364 instead of
$H$365).

So far, I am working around this by replacing =DAYS(D14;C14) by
=round(DAYS(D14;C14)).

An interesting RTF issue Miklos - I forget where the tracker is.

FYI - as/when the RTF parser stumbles on something - it is absolutely normal to
loose the rest of the document from then onwards =) I imagine to get your data
back, you'd want to manually edit the RTF file to tweak around this issue
restore your file data.

Thanks for reporting.

Yes, this would make sense, but only if there is no performance impact on
function of the thumbnail view panel in the Start Center. And, suspect there
would still need to be file pointers present in the .xcu to either the fully
rendered thumbnail, or a suitable icon--when encrypted, or if a non-thumbnailed
format.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90090] Rearranging the UI of Draw

2015-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90090

--- Comment #7 from Jay Philips philip...@hotmail.com ---
(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #4)
Mock up is fine, but beleive we should also attempt to establish additional
unimplemented drawing controls (brushes, pattern fills, erasure, masking,
stamps, .etc) in the drawing tools pane.

Yes it would be good to have as many vector drawing controls that are found in
similar apps.

As I've mentioned, Draw should have a Page tab in the Sidebar for doing
layout and design. But moving PDF and other page previews into a Sidebar
Pages content panel on the *Right* would not necessarily be the best UX.

My suggestion of having a pages tab in the sidebar relates to other similar
apps having a layers section within the right sidebar. The only similar apps
that have a pages pane/section in its left area is Calligra Flow and MS
Publisher.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/ad/Microsoft_Publisher_screenshot.png

Draw and filter import to .ODG is the primary module for handling PDF--the
current *Left* Side pages pane provides the navigation of PDF documents.
Position on the *Left* in that role is what most users/programs are familiar
 with.

Yes it is best to keep it on the left so that it is possible to navigate
between pages and also work with properties of the sidebar at the same time.
The pane just needs to be reduced to its smallest size, so there is more
document area room, especially if the document is in landscape view. I would
consider that having the pane in its enabled but hidden state is likely the
best default view, as there isnt a need to see the pane when a document only
has a single page in it.

https://twitter.com/MrExcluded/status/560954394909241344
https://twitter.com/irnan9/status/573061569329827840

Beleive the Pages preview pane in Draw uses the same Slides pane from
Impress--could be that both will have to be reworked--either as Sidebar
components, or as now as but as optional panes.

Yes draw and impress share the same code, so the pane is the same between the
two.

It would be useful to have the right sidebar expanded by default.

(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #6)
Vertical toolbar attached left is not that awkward, retaining the Pages view
pane left and inboard feels comfortable. Will ask a few folks to test drive
 the new layout.

Look forward to hear more feedback. :D Any code pointers on how to reduce the
size of the pane?

One example of random behaviour.
Sometimes I copy text from an e-mail in to Writer.
One second later I can no longer do it, not even the exact same text part I
just pasted in to Writer. If I close and reload or start a new Writer document,
pasting mostly works again after that.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: i...@productivix.com

Created attachment 114201
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114201action=edit
example with the bug identified: 2 tabs : before and after sorting

You make a sheet with calculations per line :

Ex : before sorting :
in Line 14 ( column N and next): uses cells from line 14
after sorting :
( and subtotal calculations)
in Line 14 (colum N and next): the formula uses cells from line 21 instead of
14 ! so the calculation and sums are false !!!

I made an example attached that produce the bug : 1st tab: the initial sheet
without sorting.
second tab : after sorting. in red : cells with mix-up references in
calculations.

The bug is in sorting, I found that by making subtotals (that include the
sorting): you can reproduce that bug with a sorting only.
Feel free to ask for more info.
I tested on Windows and different linux distrib and version : it is since 3.5
(!)

I am closing this as invalid. Please do the following:

 1. Report one bug per bug report - do not combine multiple issues into one
 report;
 2. Provide clear reproducible steps - just saying no history of recently
used fonts is saved is pretty useless - where do you expect to see this
history? How? Where would it be stored?

Again - one report per bug report, clear repro steps with a clear indication
of how you think things should work or would work better. Thanks

Hi.
Should I edit this one for lost font history bug and create another for the
scroll wheel feature not working? Or should I open 2 new bug report?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90114] New: MSI installer - program modules

2015-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90114

Bug ID: 90114
Summary: MSI installer - program modules
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mattmil...@googlemail.com

A inhibitor of LibreOffice progressing into enterprise is the limited control
over installed program modules.

A current trend in streamlining the activities and procedures of users is to
minimalise the amount of information presented to a user to only that needed
for their tasks. e.g. MS File Server Access-based Enumeration.

Installing a full office suite for every user is counter-intuitive to the
Microsoft Office installation choices, and is contrary to current enterprise
practise.

Schools are also restricted as to the type of software allowed to students in
certain situations. e.g. Exams. Supporting two office software variants for use
in different situations is equally as counter-intuitive.

Further, being unable to isolate a particular module or feature also hampers
reactivity when mitigating security concerns.

 Hi,

Why are you using such an old version? The latest release is 4.4.1
Please download that and test your document there.

I need functionality and stability, not new numbers in version field. If 3.*
series did its job, I wouldn't bother to upgrade. Especially when I'm working
on the big document.

However, 3.6.7.2 stopped opening, and 4.4.2 can't save this doc (#88314).
Happily, 4.3.* series can both open and save this (yet), with a penalty of
having to re-render all formulas (opening them manually), twice (#88139,
#88320).

I am closing this as invalid. Please do the following:

1. Report one bug per bug report - do not combine multiple issues into one
report;
2. Provide clear reproducible steps - just saying no history of recently used
fonts is saved is pretty useless - where do you expect to see this history?
How? Where would it be stored?

Again - one report per bug report, clear repro steps with a clear indication of
how you think things should work or would work better. Thanks

The MSI feature structure should differentiate between the LibreOffice suite
(root feature) and all other features as children, with addition of a common
files feature and a redistributable dependencies feature.

The common files would be shared dependencies of at least two program modules,
with the condition for installation being '($program_module=2 OR
?program_module=2) OR ($other_program_module=2 OR ?other_program_module=2)' -
where any of the dependent program modules are installed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89894] [Feature request] Cover page templates / More quick styles

2015-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89894

--- Comment #4 from sophie gautier.sop...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to rderooij685 from comment #3)
 Hi,

First of all, thank you both for answering my question.
Thank you for your understanding

I was already aware of templates.libreoffice.org, but thanks for letting me
 know.

I'm not that skilled at designing documents, but I can see what I can do.
Maybe I can replicate some MS Office templates?

Hum, you can't copy proprietary material, it's not allowed.

I'm also aware of the page styles. Those are great futures, but it's not
exactly what I meant. Microsoft Office contains less of those styles indeed,
but what I meant was the styling of those styles (hopefully, I'm clear
enough). Those quick styles available in MS Office was what I meant. You can
quickly choose for a office look, or a more standard black and white look.
Currently, LibreOffice offers the standard black and white look, but no
 other styles.

This is what I'm referring to:

 http://www.java2s.com/Tutorial/Microsoft-Office-Word-2007Images/
 Create_Style_Set___Click_Save_As_Quick_Style_Set.PNG

Yes I know, but you can do that in your own templates and exchange styles
between templates.

 Also, the cover pages:

 http://gilsmethod.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/
 boringcoverpageinword2010f.png

I'm aware that cover pages are available as templates, but having a few
templates in LibreOffice itself would benefit the project in my opinion.

There will be more in the next version. We reduced the set because of lack of a
mechanism to translate the template for the moment (LibreOffice should have the
same set of features whatever the language :) But next version will have that
mechanism allowing us to ship more samples.

Again, thanks for answering my question! I'll think about contributing
templates, but I'm not a skilled designer.

No one of us are skilled designer, but we learn a lot from each others and we
enhance our skills all together and... with fun :) Hope to see you soon!

This problem occurs on the first slide shown in a presentation. So if you have
3 slides and you start with slide 2, the text will not be shown.

As soon as you navigate to another slide, the content is rendered correctly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90108] New: Open/Save/Save As - page fill whole screen on Windows with Extended desktop (2 screens)

2015-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: Open/Save/Save As - page fill whole screen on Windows
with Extended desktop (2 screens)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.1.2 rc

OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pax417-t...@yahoo.com

When the Open / Save dialog page opens on a Windows desktop with two screens
(Extended desktop) the page takes up the full width of both screens. One can
not shrink or resize the dialog page. When opened on pc with only 1 screen,
it still fills most of the 1 screen. The Open / Save dialog page should be
resizable and should stay within the bounds of the actual app (Calc / Writer
..); or at least remember the last size used.

I am currently using release 4.4.1.2 and this problem existed on the release
before that. It affects both CALC WRITER, and probable the other applications
as well, but I just use those two applications

Thanks for your help and the great job the LibreOffice team has done in
enhancing the product.

The legend cannot be positioned within the graph permanently.

The legend inside a Calc bar chart cannot be fixed in LibreOffice Writer.

If you copy and paste a table from calc with bar charts you cannot fix the
legend within the graph permanently.
You can do it temporarily but after saving the odt document and reloading it
again, the legend is positioned at the top left corner, regardless what its
previous position and size were set by the user.
