[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90452] Breeze icons poorly visible in Start Center

2015-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90452

(In reply to andreas_k from comment #43)
Attached the Application Icons for the start center in 48x48px.

Thanks. I was hoping for a modified images_breeze.zip but no problem, I already
hacked it ;)

It looks pretty good! Actually nicer than the Tango icons :)

 The icons
are different than the mimetype like breeze icons which are now in the
Start Center. I would prefere the app icons because you start the app and
not an odt file. But when we choose the app icon the minimum size is 48x48px
in the original size (32x32px) you can only choose the mimetype icons.

Personally I find the Breeze icons too thin, so I'm using Sifr (or a hacked
version of Industrial...)

But I do like these easily recognizable icons on the Start Center! Of course
they don't match the Sifr theme at all...

breeze is fallback for sifr, so you will get the breeze icons ;-) until someone

Hi Alan,

I'm using window 8.
Also, I have LibreOffice version using 4.4.3.2.
It works great...I'm able to change the default length from 50 characters to 10
characters without any problems.
Are you able to upgrade to LibreOffice version using 4.4.3.2?

I know, The problem is hard to solve due to compatibility issues (LO
guarantees you that your docs will lok the asme since 20 years) and conception
of page style, but should be solved IMHO. Don't know how deep does it lie
(maybe in ODF standart). I predict disputes over this behavior, I can only say
that AbiWord, Google docs, MS Office, Apple Work behaves correctly. I'm sure
that WPS and Calligra fill entire page too.

Thomas,

I think I understand your question and I'm going to try to give you my best
answer.

1. try upgrading to libre office Version: 4.4.3.2.

2. under tables, right click mouse to edit mode. On the ID field the autovalue
by default is set to no. Change it to yes. Its always best to have the ID field
automatically increment numbers for you within your database. It looks like
you've added 139 fields of data before which is why the ID field reads a value
of 139 instead of 0,1,2,3...and so on.

3. under forms, ht click mouse to edit mode. Insert a navigation bar listed on
the right side toolbar at the bottom (looks like a double down arrow). This
will easily allow you to save, move forward and move backwards within your
records.

Please let me know if this resolved your issue.

No, I'm talking about additional margin, which ms-word has. Word has left,
right, top, bottom margins and margin (which can be on the top or on the left)
that reserves space for stitching, for example for stapler. Open MS Word
paragraph menu if you have it. On the screenshot it is highlighted value 4cm.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91879] EDIT: wrong behaviour of a form's trigger when changing the record

2015-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91879

Created attachment 116360
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=116360action=edit
expected behaviour for event (german)

For
Version: 4.4.3.2
Build-ID: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16
Gebietsschema: de_DE

Now I have tried a little bit more and could reproduce the following:
 1. Press Next Record on the navigationbar. Messagebox appears two times.
I agree.

 2. Move the mouse over navigationbar. If you reach Next Record the
 messagebox appears again two times.
I agree. This is, what I mean. I would expect, that the macro only will be
executed, before the record will be changed I have marked the context help with
the expected behaviour for this event trigger in the attached screenshot. For
this I must press the Next record button.

All other buttons without the Next Record button will be not selected, if the
mouse pointer moves over them. This seems to be buggy.

The rowcounter changes to next row.
I cannot confirm. The row counter changes only the row, if I press the Next
Record button and not, if I move the mouse pointer over it and do not press
it.

 3. Move again over navigationbar, special Next Record - nothing happens.
I agree.

For
OpenOffice.org 3.2.1
OOO320m19 (Build:9505)
ooo-build 3.2.1.4, Debian package 1:3.2.1-11+squeeze2

 1. Press Next Record on the navigationbar. Messagebox appears two times.
I agree.

 2. Move the mouse over navigationbar. If you reach Next Record the
 messagebox appears again two times.
I can agree for OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 and Debian / Squeeze. If I start from a
side of the navigationbar and move the mouse pointer over other buttons and
stop then over the Next Record button, then a messagebox appears for two
times. All other Buttons without the Next Record button will be not selected,
if the mouse pointer moves over them. Perhaps this is buggy.

(This is a difference to my last test, where the messagebox only appeared, when
I had closed the second messagebox after changing the record (by pressing the
Next Record button) and had moved then the mouse directly to the Next
Record button without pressing it.)

 3. Move again over navigationbar, special Next Record - nothing happens.
I agree. The message box appears only one time (for two times) after I have
changed the record.

Please look at the attached screenshot. I have red marked, what I would expect,
if I use this event trigger: a macro will be executed one time, if this event
appears. This is after I have pressed the Next Record button, but before the
record will be changed.

Attached the Application Icons for the start center in 48x48px. The icons are
different than the mimetype like breeze icons which are now in the Start
Center. I would prefere the app icons because you start the app and not an odt
file. But when we choose the app icon the minimum size is 48x48px in the
original size (32x32px) you can only choose the mimetype icons.

The current page style shows both odd and even pages with inner and outer

No, MS Word has 5 margins, LO 4.
Microsoft Word offers several page margin options. You can use the page
margins or you can specify your own.

Add margins for binding Use a gutter margin to add extra space to the side
or top margin of a document that you plan to bind. A gutter margin helps ensure
that text isn't obscured by the binding.

--- Comment #25 from Duarte duarte.fra...@gmail.com ---
first release the bug has been reported is 3.6.4
I wonder if it affected older releases too and the OOo/AOO as well.

Tested with the earliest and the latest available X-LibreOffice 3.3.4 and 4.3.7
and both showed the clipping artifacts.

OpenOffice Portable 4.1.1 also show the exact same symptoms, and disabling
Hardware Acceleration also solves the tearing problem.
OpenOffice 2.3.1 didn't show the bug however, back then there was no hardware
acceleration option though, only Use OpenGL and Optimized output which were
both disabled by default. Turning them on still didn't reveal any display
artifacts, though there was no next slide preview in the secondary monitor,
not sure if that's what's causing the problems.

Several things here:
1) you'd like to select which component you want to install whereas LO is a
bundle.

2) you talk about perf problems but you don't indicate LibreOffice version and
what's the hardware (CPU, RAM, hard disk), you don't attach an example document

3) you talk about crash problems but here again, we don't have LO version or
the step by step process to reproduce the crash(es). Also does it concern a
specific document or any doc

In brief, open 1 bugtracker per problem for the rest, you can take a look here:

meanwhile, let's close this one.

SwCrsrShell::UpdateCrsr() calls SwTextFrm::GetCharRect(), which does
layout. It happens that a SdrObject is moved around during layout,
which calls SwDrawContact::Changed(), which believes that there is
no layout active because there is no SwLayAction and
ViewShell::EndAction() has already been called, so we get recursive
layout-in-layout action.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yanp...@gmail.com

Currently Writer behavior is unuseful. What's the reason of page background if
in the end document (printed or PDF) you will see white margins. Moreover MS
Word applies background to entire page, including margins
Yes, there is a way to cahnge background in LO settings, but it will be applied
to program, not document and there is only possibility to change color.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69586] UI SIDEBAR: Weird-looking disabled icons

The shifting icons are no longer an issue. Only in Tango do the icons have the
horizontal lines missing when they are disabled.

@Zahra,

Understand the desire, but project simply can not do it that way.

Separation of the offline (aka. embedded) Help as a separate download installer
remains intentional and will not be revisited. It is necessary because as a
cross-platform application (Windows, Linux, OSX, Android) the code base is
simply too complex and too large to maintain as a monolithic installation
containing all 50+ supported languages.

The core program originated as German from its earliest StarOffice days, but
was reworked into Technical English during OpenOffice era. There is a robust
internationalization/localization (i18n/l10n) community that actually processes
the 10's of thousands of strings, providing translation into location
appropriate user interface. That is done both for the core program and for the
help--and as release cycle roles around those localized sources are each built
and bundled for deployment. The core installer contains all localizations, the
localized helppack is built independently and provided as a separate installer
for each of the supported OS.

Since you mention NVDA screen reader use, for a11y support, users should be
aware that the Project has been working to improve its hybrid Wiki style Help
system which will provide much better assistive technology support via browser.
The offline local help will also be restructured--but will remain a separately
downloaded and installed component.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91922] New: Writer Find function has shifting display

2015-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91922

Bug ID: 91922
Summary: Writer Find function has shifting display
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: foronl...@windstream.net

Created attachment 116350
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=116350action=edit
image of error

When using Find under Edit, as use next button, down or up, the area that the
Find bar is displayed in shifts around. As you scroll through hits of find,
the mouse is suddenly on another function that moves paragraphs up or down -
causing unknown changes to the document as you attempt to continue scrolling
through the find hits. This happens when a change in style between paragraphs
occurs for different hits, for example if the hit is in a footnote versus main
text. Other style changes cause it too. You have to return your attention to
the find bar and adjust the mouse position after each next click. But ... your
attention is naturally focused on the text of the hit and you are scanning for
the appropriate hit - so the the errors of the shifting Find bar location are
caused - who knows when and where. Find bar should be locked to a specific
location in the window.
Note in example jpg where find bar had moved up and another toolbar is where
it was.
Thanks you. Tim

In the meantime, you can use this macro to move a slide to the end of the

I've made many tests.

The problem occurs Only with my new large screen, and the same graphic card.

I've test it on a VMware witch graphic layer is independent of my specific
hardware. The problem starts at higher resolutions than 1920 x 1200 and is
always solved with graphic acceleration disabled.

I can make test any version of LO for Devs if it can help. just ask

IMHO, this bug should be investigate. of course, there is an easy worked
around, but with a slightly performance loss. And we need performance with
large screen. On the other hand, it's a mess to work on OpenGL integration and
disable HW acceleration

test tab fill

A character style, with expanded spacing, applied to a tab stop with a fill
character does not work in Indexes and Tables → Entries tab or when applied to
a paragraph tab stop with a fill character.

For a table of contents, you can add a tab stop after the Entry and put its
distance just greater than the longest entry. Then between the two tab stops,
in the Text box, type in full stops and apply a character style with expanded
spacing.

Icon corruption remains and issue for 5.1/master on Windows 7 sp1, 64-bit en-US
with

Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 21a6b99748db8a970ef7dc90d40e07901135b89a
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2015-06-03_05:45:39

But only affects the Tango and Tango (automatic) icon set. Selecting
Breeze, Galaxy, Oxygen or Sifr shows correctly formed disabled wrap setting
icons.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91923] New: [SIDEBAR] Put Insert Fields dialog in sidebar

2015-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91923

Bug ID: 91923
Summary: [SIDEBAR] Put Insert Fields dialog in sidebar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org

I use fields a lot in my documents (references, variables).

The Insert Fields dialog use to cover my text and makes multiple field
insertion cumbersome.

If the Insert Fields could be moved inside the sidebar as was the gallery and
styles formatting, that will take the dialog out of the text area and field
insertion more agile.

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=0e5aa443f8f603be6e5ad4ddcec12e5b6fbdff8ah=libreoffice-4-4

I.e.:

Using Randomize without an argument has no effect - in this case the
random-number generator will be initialized using system time (in seconds since
midnight) at its first use. If wishing to initialize (i.e. seed) the generator
using system time at any other point of time, use:

Sub ExampleRandomize
Dim lSeconds As Long
   lSeconds = Timer
   Randomize lSeconds
End Sub

Randomize affects only the Rnd function of BASIC. It has no effect on
random-number generators used by other parts of LibreOffice, such as, e.g., the
statistics and RAND() functions of Calc.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64509] CONFIGURATION: Enhance Font Substitution Table

2015-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64509

--- Comment #8 from João Paulo joaopauloag-freedesk...@yahoo.com.br ---
(In reply to QA Administrators from comment #7)
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open,
confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on
this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been
fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate
your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version
 of LibreOffice (4.4.1 or later)
 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version
of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug
 behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of
 LibreOffice and Operating System

 Please DO NOT

 Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a
particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
 REGRESSION. To do so:
 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless
your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

 http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

 2. Test your bug
 3. Leave a comment with your results.
 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to inherited from OOo;
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add regression to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
 http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

 Thank you for your help!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91896] Can't insert PDF file into Writer document

2015-06-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91896

--- Comment #2 from Patrick Sedgwick patrick.sedgw...@btinternet.com ---
Hi Raal,

Thanks for your suggestion.

My Insert File... feature works a little differently from the one you pointed
to in online help. That online help talks about an Insert toolbar, but the
inbuilt help from my LibreOffice version does not.

Instead, it says (under Inserting text documents):
=
To Insert a Text File
1. Place the cursor in the document where you want to insert the file.
2. Choose Insert - File.
3. Locate the text document that you want to insert, and then click OK.
=

Maybe I misunderstood the intention of the Insert File... menu option. I
thought it meant you can insert any one of a variety of file types.

If the intention is that only *.txt files can be inserted, maybe it would be
better to re-write the menu option...
instead of:
Insert File...
say:
Insert Text (*.txt) file...

And maybe the error message box,
instead of:
Read-error.
Error reading file.
could say:
File insert error.
Only *.txt files can be inserted.

I tried Insert Object OLE object, but it does not work. It just places an
image, of part of the first page of the PDF file, into the Writer document.

I'm not chasing any further along this track - - -
If the bug (however you define it - I don't care) is fixed, I'll see it in the
release fixing it.
In my opinion it shouldn't matter what path you use to open a new file, the
program should behave in the same way on the opened file, at the first edit and
at any later edit.
If it doesn't, that says something about internal linkages, I would have
thought - not that I know the correct programming terminology.
Best wishes, thank you.

Tested once more with Apache OpenOffice Portable 3.0.0 (OOO300m9 Build9358) and
the glitch is already there, with exact same symptoms (screen tearing with
hardware acceleration enabled, solvable by turning it off).

Seems to be something quite old, still from the days of Apache, if anyone else
cares to dig through other older versions, there seems to be quite an extensive
archive of them here
