[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94668] New: Enforce "Range contains column labels"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94668 Bug ID: 94668 Summary: Enforce "Range contains column labels" Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.6.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: shao.mil...@treefrog.ca I almost always want "Range contains column labels" to be "true" when I perform a "Data" > "Sort...". It costs me multiple clicks to get it: 1. Clicking the "Options" tab 2. Clicking the check-mark box for "Range contains column labels" I do this many times a day. It would be nice if there was an override preference somewhere that would cause this check-mark to always be "true," by default, when the "Sort" dialogue-window opens. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94669] New: Calc editing - autofill step-size: suggest no increment if the sequence initially contains only one cell.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94669 Bug ID: 94669 Summary: Calc editing - autofill step-size: suggest no increment if the sequence initially contains only one cell. Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: freedesk...@richardneill.org Autofill works excellently when there are at least 2 cells already in the sequence, and we are dragging into a 3rd and subsequent. E.g. given a sequence:1 , 2 autofill will correctly continue as 3 , 4 , 5 ,... Likewise, the sequence1 , 1 continues as 1 , 1 , 1 However, if the sequence only has one term, autofill's default behaviour is to increment it, which I personally find almost always wrong. The sequence: 1 should continue1 , 1, 1, 1, ... While the sequence: Jan 1 2015 should continue:Jan 1 2015, Jan 1 2015, Jan 1 2015, ... In other words, auto-fill based on a single cell should assume that the step size is zero, and that I want a whole column of identical values. I do realise that this is something that different people will see differently, therefore it should probably be a preference, with the present behaviour as a default. The more correct and present default search is "Formulas" -- described as "searches for the characters that you specify in formulas and in fixed (not calculated) values...". The issue appears even when using an XY (scatter) chart type, as JBF suggested using instead. It seems as if on rendering the chart, the X-Y values are laid out on the chart in some unspecified order, while the line will simply connect the points from leftmost to rightmost, discarding the order in the data series. When the mouse hovers on a point, the label it references is then relative to the first point in the line, instead of being the actual index in the data series of the point.
