lnunes:

I forgot to mention that LO 5.1.0.0-alpha1 is a pre-release version, non meant
for production work.

You may install it following the instructions here:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Windows

I think the easier method in Windows is using this application:

https://flosmind.wordpress.com/si-gui/

In this way you won't break your main LO configuration, a separate empty one
will be used.

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cutlerbrianda...@gmail.com

Both 5.02.2 and its predecessor 5.0.1.2 are extremely slow to calculate, edit
and filter. Copying a formula to a new location usually has to be saved before
it will function. Edits will only take effect when the sheet is scrolled up or
down and moving to a new filter setting in auto filter after an edit appears to
be impossible. I had hoped that 5.0.2.2. would be an improvement on 5.0.1.2 but
the filtering and editing problems seem to have been added to the copy formula
problems. There is also a tendency to crash on attempting to save after editing
using autofilter.

OTT.
You can temporarily fix it by Character->text orientation 0 deg.->OK. ->text
orientation->90 deg. After reloading its wrong again as in the Writer
screenshot.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95411] New: EDITING: pasting unformatted text using keyboard shortcut not working

2015-10-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95411

Bug ID: 95411
Summary: EDITING: pasting unformatted text using keyboard
shortcut not working
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: orwe...@gmail.com

SCOPE:
Define a keyboard shortcut for (EDIT) Paste Unformatted text (in my case I use
CTRL+SHIFT+V). I want to copy unformatted text into the comment.

Description:
1. Insert a comment in Writer.
2. Copy some text (from another document or from the same document).
3. Go back into the comment (cursor inside).
4. Use keyboard shortcut for paste unformatted text (C+S+V in my case).

Result:
The text from clipboard is inserted into the document (on the place, where the
comment is inserted) instead of the comment itself.

Notice:
1. The behavior is not the same, if you use the default shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+W
and choose Unformatted text. In this case, the text is inserted correctly to
the comment.
2. There is no setting for C+S+V (in my case) as a shortcut for the
LibreOffice, only for Writer.

I am not sure which is the first affected Version, but I am pretty sure in some
4.XX this worked correctly.

Very weird. I saw "General" both in sidebar AND number formatting dialog, but
...

... then I switched Language in number formatting dialog (the combobox in top
right corner of it) to "French - France" i.e. the same JBF has ...

... and voila, "Standard" appears in number formatting dialog, while "General"
stays in sidebar :)

Anyway, confirmed. Some languages have "Standard", some have "General". This
needs to be unified. Slightly reluctant to make this easy hack, as there might
be some gotcha ...

That is wrong. A 32-bit LO build needs a 32-bit JRE, while a 64-bit LO build

Laszlo - clearly we don't want to tweak the document - but improve the
rendering, layout, fidelity etc. so it matches the PC version: it'd be good to
fix the PDF export at the same time too (right) ? =)

The document has two right pages, because of the page break at the table
starting with page number 1. So there is an empty second in between which makes
up 3 pages. That's what you can see in the status bar of the document and also
what the printing dialog shows you, when you start it from the last page of the
document.

What you may do yourself is to get backtrace, by always starting LO via WinDBG:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg#Automation
Even with that, this bug, if it exists, will unlikely be fixed without clear
steps how to reproduce on another computer.
Maybe it's something "exotic" and related to your specific configuration (for
example like Bug 95160, or video card), but it's also possible.
I propose this bug be resolved as invalid.

Importing AutoText doesn't mean importing a random text document as a single
auto text.
It imports a collection of text blocks stored within the doc/dot file.
It would certainly make sense to add a similar importer for the glossary part
in docx/dotx files.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95415] New: When copying one slide, LO pastes a different slide in Impress EDITING UI

2015-10-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95415

Bug ID: 95415
Summary: When copying one slide, LO pastes a different slide in
Impress EDITING UI
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vossma...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 120079
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=120079=edit
Minimal Presentation that demonstrates error.

Steps to reproduce:
1. open copy_paste_error.odp
2. copy slide 2 (command-C on Mac)
3. paste (command-V on Mac)

result:
two copies of slide 1, one copy of slide 2

expected result:
two copies of slide 2, one copy of slide 1

conclusion:
the paste command only pastes slide 1

Notes:
* duplicate slide 2 works
* if I include slide 3,4,5,... it only pastes slide 1.
* you can change slide 1 and it pastes that
* you can re-sort slides, and it this case it copies slide 1. In my larger
document slide 1 is in position 10.
* was a problem in 5.0.1 final, 5.0.2 final, and 5.0.3.1 on Mac OS X, may be
earlier version, but did not see this in 4.3 (I never used 4.4 due to major
bugs on Mac)
* has happened on different presentation files, but not all

2015-10-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 95416
Summary: Get rid of #include "../foo/bar.hxx" style includes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@iki.fi

We have a couple of hundred cases where a source file includes an include file
like this:

#include "../foo/bar.hxx"
or
#include <../foo/bar.hxx>

That is generally considered ugly, I think. In most cases, the file being
included should be moved to an appropriate "inc" directory in the module in
question, and then be included with a simple:

#include "bar.xx"

because if an include file is used by source files in multiple directories,
clearly it isn't strictly local and should be in some "inc" directory.

One special case is the gtk2/gtk3 mess in vcl, which probably should be left as
is.

This is most likely gtk3-only issue

@Jochen: You happen to have libreoffice-gtk3 package installed? Can you still
reproduce the bug if you either

i) uninstall it
ii) run LibreOffice from commandline like this:

SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk soffice

But it also seems to be 5.0-only issue, as it looks like fixed in master and we
just need to find the right patch(es) to backport

Tried the Drawing file in LibreOffice v4.2.8.2 and this problem doesnt happen.
However I'm using Linux RHEL 6.7 whereas I had been using Windows 7 when I

As I no longer have a Windows system I am unable to verify that the issue is
completely fixed but I am satisfied with the performance of the application on
RHEL on my new Lenovo W540 - Core i7 vPro, w/32GB of RAM.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95417] New: Reassign paragraph/list item reordering keyboard shortcuts to Ctrl+Up/Down

2015-10-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95417

Bug ID: 95417
Summary: Reassign paragraph/list item reordering keyboard
shortcuts to Ctrl+Up/Down
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: nekoh...@gmail.com

There is a feature where you can reorder paragraphs and list items using the
keyboard. It's very nice to be able to quickly change the ordering like that,
especially for journalists (where a golden rule is that every paragraph should
be an atomic item that can be moved mostly anywhere in the text) and for
brainstorming.

The problem is that the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down) for that
feature changed in one of the releases over the past few years (I have no idea
which).

- Currently, ctrl+up/down does nothing special, it just goes up or down one
line (as if you didn't have ctrl pressed at all).

- The shortcut now seems to be ctrl+alt+up/down (at least for list items, not
sure if it's the same for paragraphs but I presume so). The problem is that
this conflicts with window managers' global shortcuts for virtual workspaces in
Linux. Most notably, hitting those shortcuts in GNOME Shell will make it switch
to the next/previous workspace, overriding LibreOffice.

I can't think of something wrong with the previous shortcuts (ctrl+up/down) so
I would suggest putting those back in place?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95418] New: TABLE:

2015-10-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 95418
   Summary: TABLE:

  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: grace.engineer...@live.com

In an effort to avoid paying the ridiculous hundred bucks Microsoft is asking
from me to continue using the Office software I have already purchased, I
installed your LibreOffice program. I work alot with tables generating forms
and promotional materials. In your Writer program, attempting to format
outlines around table cells has proven to be frustrating as best.

When I add an outline to a table row, it adds significant space to the top and
bottom of the row causing the whole table to shift out of placement according
to my plan for the table. I am used to the very precise programming of MS
Office in this area.

Also, when formatting table cells, I am used to being able to apply borders to
cells and rows independently. In this version of your Writer program when I
attempt to format borders, I cannot apply them to one part of a row or cell
without applying that specific border the whole row or cell.

This makes formatting tables, which is a foundational aspect of my publishing
work, an unworkable situation for continuing to use your software. I may just
have to pay the ridiculous fee to Microsoft to reinstate functionality to my
Office software so I may complete my work. I would much rather donate to your
cause, but if I find your software unusable for my purpose, those funds may
have to be routed another direction to be able to accomplish my publishing
goals.

Please feel free to contact me via:

email: grace.engineer...@live.com
or
Cellphone: 406.899.5022
or
Facebook: www.facebook.com/sparkyspeedway

Hopefully we can find a resolution soon. I need to get my work done.

Sample spreadsheet with rows of different font sizes

When you use a smallish (<10pt) font for a row in Calc, the optimal row height
is not shrunk accordingly, but stays fixed at the default. For larger font
sizes this works fine. Worse, existing spreadsheets with correct row heights
change back to the larger size when you enter/change cell values.

I have attached a simple spreadsheet exhibiting this problem.

Note: OpenOffice works fine in this case.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95421] New: Cannot move object by dragging its anchor icon.

2015-10-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95421

Bug ID: 95421
Summary: Cannot move object by dragging its anchor icon.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.5.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 120081
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=120081=edit
Drag the anchor to move the object

Open the attached document. Click on the frame border to activate it. You now
see the anchor of the frame as icon. Drag this anchor to another paragraph.
Zoom out so that you have two pages side-by-side. Click on the picture. Drag
its anchor to the other page.

Expected behavior: The frame follows to the new paragraph. The picture moves to
the other page.

Seen behavior: It is not possible to drag the anchor.

This feature is needed, when an object has a position other than "from left".
If you drag the frame or picture itself, then the position is changed to "from
left" and you need to restore the position settings. There is not other way to
change to which paragraph or to which page an object is anchored than dragging
the anchor.

It works here with Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID:
74f74aa5470fe631c7827897742c0ccbddcf6ad)
TinderBox: Win-x86@6, Branch:master, Time: 2013-02-23_23:21:01

and fails at least since

Hi grace..

Thanks for writing and supporting LibreOffice!
I think you can best look for user support. There are various ways to get that.
Please look here:
  http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support/
Your report is not a bug report that would help here.
Cheers - Cor

Hi bubli,

Thanks - I would prefer an option per module.
I expect people to have diverging preferences per doc-type..

File opens quite fast (<10 secs) in v4.2.8.2 under mint 17.2 x64. Already a bit
slower (20-25 secs) in v4.3.7.2. From v4.4 on, after a period of fast loading
and calculating, it looks like it's getting itself a cuppa coffee.

Set as regression.

Hi Jean-Fraincois

Thanks for reporting. I recognize your problem.

The change you mention was made a looong time ago in OpenOffice.org 2.x or 3.x
early... :)

Cltr+up/down moves to start previous / next paragraph. Seems to be common in
more programs.
But indeed, Ctrl+Alt+up/down does not work for me either.
Maybe another one?
Or (another) option ?

By the way; Tools > Customize allows you to change the setting..
So maybe a WorksForMe would be fine for this issue too?

Cheers - Cor

I did find it a long time ago. Just by trying context menu on content items
(using the context menu in LibreOffice is a good thing) and looking at the list
at the bottom..
And if the behaviour is buggy (I do not understand in what way currently) it
would be better to improve that then to remove functionality.
