file for address labels with first letters on right cut off

When creating labels in Hebrew -- from right to left -- the first letters on
right side of first right column are cut off. This happens despite my using the
correct label serial number and manufacturer name. I do not find any option in
"customizing" to move the right margin more to the left so the label will
include the first letters. How can this problem be solved?

ODF file without sign in exponent for a scientific number

Description: Scientific format may skip sign in exponent (for positive
exponent) with format such as "0.00E00". This format can be save in ODF from
LibO 5.0. See bug 90133. However, Excel is not able to manage such format. So
export to Excel should forced format to show sign in exponent even for positive
exponent with "0.00E+00".

Steps to reproduce:
1. enter a value (>= 1.0) in a cell, for instance 5
2. Format > Cells > Numbers. Change format code to 0.00E00 (without sign in
exponent)
3. OK => display correctly 5.00E00 instead of 5.00E+00 with default scientific
format
4. File > Save in ODF format (see attached document)
5. File > Reload => display is correctly 5.00E00 (from LibO 5.0)
6. File > Save in XLS format
7. open file with Excel 2003

Actual behavior
A warning message appears: "File Error. Some number format may be lost." and
cell is formated as Standard.

Expected behavior
No warning message, cell should be formated to the nearest supported format:
0.00E+00

It is worth if you export to XLSX:
- Excel 2003 (with compatibility module) refuses to open the file
- Excel 2010 can open file with a warning about number format repaired

"Use Hardware Acceleration" was ghosted.  However, disabling "Use OpenGL for
all rendering" fixed the corruption.  Thanks!

I'm using the latest NVIDIA drivers on a modern-generation GPU, so their OpenGL
support should be up-to-date.  Odd.

Do you mean the -Wshadow warnings? Yes - it's normal (you should blame boost
headers for this). But please - don't introduce yet another boost dependency.
LO should have internally everything you need to manipulate files/folders.
Never did it myself, but include/osl/file.hxx seems to be a good place to start
from.

That's fine if this is already the solution.
This is really a little bit tricky, because the Locale Setting doesn't matter.
The offline help is linked to the User Interface language.

Normally, with a clean installation every entry should in your case have the
En-GB data.  In your case, could it be that you had once in the past, maybe in
previous releases changed the User Interface language?  For English is this
really tricky because we have several English variants which you would not
easily recognise in the user interface.  Therefore, I understand the problems
you had.

To link the offline help with the user interface is for me good and mostly no
problem, because you see the selected language in your user interface.

But I agree there should be a clear information how the offline help is
determined.  I would expect such an information on the online help page:
https://help.libreoffice.org/Main_Page, on the LibreOffice download website and
maybe during the installation process.

But for this you would have to file a bug report in Redmine, because some time
ago there was this other website Redmine created for bugs regarding bugzilla,
websites:

The same libreoffice used by the same user on the same machine works fine,
when used in Gnome3. When used in i3-wm, after opening new spreadsheet:

1. select any cell,
2. click `border style` or border icon in menu,
3. from the list select any border style (solid line for example).

Libreoffice will be closed immediately. Recovery will be possible
after relaunch.

Looks like, you never relax - it's sunday and you should enjoy this day.

OK - LO V 5.0.3 reinstalled
   - "Use OpenGl for all rendering" was already disabled
   - "Use Hardware Acceleration" was active

PDF-creation with "LO extract to PDF" and "PDF creator" works at 5.0.3,
deactivating "use of hardware acceleration.

small query with 2 tables to show base bug

Case when Does not work with the between function in Libre Base after ver 4.4
4.37 is the last version I found that it still works.
This is the sql used,

 WHERE "TransDate,D" BETWEEN CASE WHEN :DateFrom = '' THEN (
"TLOOKUP"."StartDate" ) ELSE TO_DATE( :DateFrom, 'MM/DD/YY' ) END AND CASE WHEN
:DateTo = '' THEN CURRENT_DATE ELSE TO_DATE( :DateTo, 'MM/DD/YY' ) END

It is suppose to default to certain dates if nothing is selected , but the
default dates do not work in the latest versions of Base.
 I have included a  zip file that has a query and 2 small tables as an example.

In hebrew the last line of every paragraph is offset from the margin and the
cursor displays in the middle of the letter I am typing.  I've attached a file
that I've had a problem with.  This problem exists in all my files.

thanks for taking this into considaration.
Now, I tested both LO versions on "WINDOWS 10 Pro 64" with
- Windows print to PDF
- PDF-Creator
- LO "direct export to PDF" ==> see result at attachment "PDF-Output from
LO-Writer"

I do not have any other Win version yet to test new LO versions under W8 or W7,
but LO 5.0.1 is still working right at W10

it worked however, it still crashes when launching LibreOffice normally then
trying to save. I tried to get a backtrace log But am comfused about step 4. "a
gdbtrace.log file will be created in the same folder." What folder is this
talking about?

Unconfirmed with v3.3.4 under windows 7 x64.

Not only can't you save the object, you also can't compress it.
After copy/paste special > 'gdi metafile'/'drawing format', saving with writer
works, but not with impress (still no option in calc to save).

cropping TIFFs in Writer -- seems OK

Of course that was not with Writer, rather Draw/Impress canvas. 

However, the crop of TIFFs looks to be handled correctly for the recently
implemented image crop in Writer.

Hm, no. See comment 3. Its looks is intended, and you won’t see it anyway
because the Classic UI cannot be set anymore under modern Windows versions
(i.e., anything above Windows 7).

The OS X bug (unrelated, of course, it was bug 80474) has been resolved in the
meantime.

The paragraph inside the list item has a wrong margin-left and the css
attribute text-indent is missing.

Currently it is:
style="margin-left:1.524cm;"
In this setting the value 1.524cm is the indent of the "text-body" paragraph
and corresponds to the width of the chapter numbering.

But it should be:
style="margin-left:2.79cm;text-indent:-0.635cm"
In this setting the value 2.79cm is the indent set in numbering position and
the value -0.635cm is the value to go back to get the alignment value 2.16cm in
numbering position.

I see the error in Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+

Works for me.
Two hyphens produce an em-dash, even if it comes after an end quote like "word"

Also, you didn't mention, which LibreOffice version you are using.
I assume you are using Windows.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists after reset and you
provided all the missing info. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem
went away.

There seemed to be some problems with the hardware acceleration in the latest
release of LO under Win 10.

Unfortunately, I have only Win 8.1.  That's why I could not confirm this bug.

The default shortcut for Paste unformatted text is Ctrl-Alt-Shift-V.
When I use this in a comment, I get the buggy behavior Orwel describes.

So no need to go defining any differing shortcuts.

TIFF bitmap rescales during a crop action

Whoops, too quick to close this out. Sorry...

There is an issue--at least y-axis of the tiff image rendering on Writer canvas
is being scaled smaller as the clip result is being calculated.

Scaling is evident when performing clip, during selection--before applying. See
the attached clip which show the TIFF rendered to bitmap on Writer canvas being
scaled during a clip operation. That changed and incorrect scaling carries into
the resulting clip.

The scaling issue during clipping does not affect PNG or JPEG copies of the
same images--just the TIFF version.

And, setting or not-setting the "Position & Size" ->  "Keep ratio" has no
effect on size distortion of the resulting clipped TIFF.

On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US with MS Office 2007 available, and with
Version: 5.0.3.2 (x64)
Build ID: e5f16313668ac592c1bfb310f4390624e3dbfb75-GL
Locale: en-US (en_US)

With file associations set to LibreOffice, Windows Explorer "double click"
launches the non-ODF formats in a new LibreOffice component Window.  Just
tested a .DOC, .DOCX, and .XLS with out issue.

You have at least 3 easy workarounds:
1/ make save as... before any modification
2/ disable automatic saving
3/ open your existing file as a template (-n option on the command line) or
create a new template from it and use the template manager to create a new
document from it.

>From my point of view the only issue here is that the user might not be aware
that the automatic saving is activated.

No, this is not true. In bug 73065 I do not see this. It is a feature request,
and this bug is a duplicate of that. It is not a regression in LibreOffice 5,
because LibreOffice never had video playback controls in presentation mode.
