[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95701] New: "Save As" fail to save, asks irritating unnecessary questions instead
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95701 Bug ID: 95701 Summary: "Save As" fail to save, asks irritating unnecessary questions instead Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: helge.haft...@hist.no 1. Open a .docx attachment from thunderbird. Get a write-protected view. Ok so far, nothing bad yet. But I want to save a local copy for editing. Naturally, I use "save as" 2. File->Save As A big dialog show up. It suggests a filename I won't use, and a wrong directory. Ok so far, libreoffice cannot yet know where I want to store this, or what name I want. 3. Change the "name" field from "SomeName" to directory/subdirectory/myname I am sure the directory names are correct, for I used tab-completion. Very nice feature that. (I just type "dir" and get "directory/" automatically. So far all is well... 4. Press the "save"button (not "cancel") to actually do this. At this point, I expected the document to be saved. Instead, a slightly annoying question if I want to use ODF format. It'd be better if this was part of the "save as" dialog. But, that is a very minor annoyance. And the ODF format is ok with me, so: 5. click "Use ODF format". Now I REALLY expect the document to be saved! In the directory I specified (with nice help from the save dialog), with the name I specified, and no further questions or silliness. But here libreoffice fails me! It does not save the document as specified, instead it pops ut the "save" dialog? WTF? The "save" dialog has the new name I specified, and NOT the subdirectory I specified. And why did I get a dialog at all, at this point? No other software do that to me. Everywhere else, when I "save as", the document is indeed "saved as" whatever path/name I specified. The way I see it, this is a bug i9n the user interface. (A programming bug if it indeed wasn't meant to be like that - or a design bug if this somehow is deliberate.) I can NOT see any use for the "save" dialog at this point in time. I have already entered a path and a filename - AND the document format (ODF) too. There is nothing more for me to tell libreoffice, so libreoffice should not ask any more, but just DO WHAT I ALREADY TOLD IT TO DO. If I cancel this extra "save" dialog, then nothing is saved. If I press "save", the document is wrongly saved to my home folder. NOT the folder I specified explicitly - and which libreoffice even helped me to find. So not only am I annoyed by an unnecessary dialog, there is also information loss. I did specify a subdirectory, but this was forgotten when the unnecessary "save" dialog came up. I can work around this in a number of ways (by moving the file to its correct place using the "mv" command), so the bug is not critical. But irritating nonetheless. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Reason is that LinearScaleContext::blendBitmap24 causes out-of-bound accesses to BitmapReadAccess/BitmapWriteAccess for extreme cases. It starts with OutputDevice::DrawDeviceAlphaBitmap which on linux may use OutputDevice::DrawDeviceAlphaBitmapSlowPath (on win and mac not used, so no crash there). blendBitmap24 in the case of a one pixel source use the correct index, but always uses tne next scanline to blend with it (pLine1). In case of a one pixel bitmap that does not exist. To avoid that a lot of strategies may be used e.g. to not mix with the next line at all or setup one more index in all cases or similar. Since it is a corner case (not often, fast) I opt for just using the initial scanline twice when there is no second, this will do no harm to blending, too. Tried that, works as expected. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95701] "Save As" fail to save, asks irritating unnecessary questions instead
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95701 --- Comment #1 from Helge Hafting--- Another problem is that the unnecessary unwanted "save" dialog is "halfway modal". The ordinary "save as" dialog is fully modal, in that it stays on top of the main window until dismissed, and I can't use any menu choices either until I dismiss it. The "halfway modal" dialog still block input to the main window - but if I click the main window, it goes on top of the stupid "save" dialog. So I'm stuck with an unresponsive main window and wonder why - there is no dialog floating on top. So why can't I open the help menu (to get the version number for this bug report, for example). This can be worked around by digging up the dialog and closing it. But it'd be better if that dialog never came up, and the document simply was saved as specified. The "Save"dialog does not misbehave when brought up the normal way from File->Save. Then it stays on top as it should. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93843] once saving and closing an ODT while leaving LibO open the program crashes and automatically goes into recovery mode of the saved files
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93843 --- Comment #10 from rchamm...@gmail.com --- I believe I am the original reporter for this bug. I have tried all the recommendations I can find. I have even deleted the newest version of Libre. Then went through the computer and deleted any prior folders with mention to earlier versions of Libre. Even went through the registry and deleted anything with the word "Libre" in the line. Then I downloaded the newest version of Libre 5.0.2.2 and installed to a new folder location. The crashes of Libre continue, although not as frequent as they were when I first sent in the bug notice. I have tried to keep note of the occurrences ...ie whether the crop image tool was used, whether you changed the margins, whether you imported a jpg image, or changed the font type or size. There seems to be no consistent pattern to the crashes. I always save the file prior to trying to close the document from either the small X or the program close large X. It just seems to randomly crash on exit and then automatically comes back up into recovery mode. Now there have been several occasions when the program says the file/document was unable to be recovered. Yet it is there and visible where I had saved it prior to closing the document and I can open the file when I want to. One other thing I have noticed is that periodically in the folder where I save the "odt" files, there will be a file that I saved and then a second file with the same name and just the "#" after the "odt". I have to delete the "#" before I am able to delete the file. This does not effect the original file. After using Open Office and then Libre Office for years this has been the most frustrating situation I have ever had with any program. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95646] Checkbox with boolean data field does not display correctly
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95646 --- Comment #6 from B Mikowski--- LibreOffice 4.4.5.2; HSQL; OpenSuse 13.1; I tested more thoroughly after looking @ Robert's sample DB. My DB form wasn't created with a wizard, but I created the checkbox control manually and had assigned a specific field. Anyway, in an earlier version of LO (3.x), I had set up reference values in the data tab of the control properties (1=on, 0=off). This worked fine in that version. In this version of LO, this disturbs current functionality of the control when changing/moving through the records in the form. When I removed the reference values (back to blank for both settings) the control worked properly. From my standpoint, this issue can now be closed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I've tried different sizes, in merged and unmerged cells, saving each time a different instance of the original file and reopening. - when I switched the anchor to page, problem did not occur I think I could refine the problem a bit: - it is not image resizing: that crescent is not an image but a drawing (it can be edited with that yellow dot, not just resized like an image). - on changing the column widths, the drawing changes location, ratio and anchor cell. It happens on the second resize, what ever column I tried. It seems to -1 a column each time. I've changed your bug triage status from UNCONFIRMED to NEW as a result of my findings. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93967] LibreOffice Crash always after try to save
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93967 --- Comment #20 from rao...@comcast.net --- I have had this problem since LO 5.0; has continued in each release since then, now in 5.0.3.2, still experiencing the problem. I experience this problem on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Linux Mint 17.2. I use 64-bit version on each OS. I either paste data into Calc (typically a column of 6 - 30 values) or type a few values in manually (students' scores for assignments/exercises/quizzes). After 3 - 8 saves, Calc will crash. All data I entered since the last successful save is simply lost. In the past (pre-LO 5.0) I would only save the file after a day's work; now I save the file after each and every update, because I never know when all my data (since the last save) will simply be lost.
