[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95698] xml help validity error in source/text/scalc/01/ful_func.xhp

2015-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I used:

xmllint --noout --valid source/text/scalc/01/ful_func.xhp --dtdvalid
helpers/xmlhelp.dtd

Of course I do not run xmllint just for fun in my spare time, the bug was found
when I tried to convert help to wiki text. :)

This issue seems to have been fixed in LibreOffice 5.0.3.2. I've tried before
v5.0.2 and LibreOffice crashed after inserting 20 subdocuments in the master
document, which was an improvement, as before LibreOffice 5.0.2, LibreOffice
crashed immediately upon insertion of subdocuments in the master document. I
could only work with subdocuments in the master document on Linux.

Now, with LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 I am able to work on Windows 7 with a
masterdocument containing 46 subdocuments totaling 2200 pages.

Over recent months I have been using LibreOffice to write a long text document
(currently about 70 pages) on a Windows 10 computer. for the last few versions
I have noticed that after either a manual or automatic file save, the location
in the file changes requiring a search to return to where you are editing or
reading. This is a most annoying bug.

Hi,

You need to enable CTL support for this to work. Open
Tools->Options...->Language Settings->Languages, make sure that the "Complex
Text Layout (CTL)" checkbox is checked, and restart the app. This will add 2
new buttons to the formatting toolbar, namely "Right-To-Left" and
"Left-To-Right", which will allow you control the direction of the text. Does
it help?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94998] Can't remove the underline of the text with hyperlink

Insert hyperlink---> Input target link and text -> OK.

Now the text is automatically underlined coz it is a link. Now select the text
with hyperlink, click the already enabled "underline".

Note that the underline is always there no matter how many times you click it
to disable.

Sometimes it works that you edit the hyperlink by delete one letter in the
text, then the underline disappears. Then you can edit it again to add the
deleted letter and the underline doesn't disappear.

Sometimes I have to go through these steps to remove the underline.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95701] New: "Save As" fail to save, asks irritating unnecessary questions instead

2015-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95701

Bug ID: 95701
Summary: "Save As" fail to save, asks irritating unnecessary
questions instead
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: helge.haft...@hist.no

1. Open a .docx attachment from thunderbird. Get a write-protected view.

Ok so far, nothing bad yet.
But I want to save a local copy for editing. Naturally, I use "save as"

2. File->Save As

A big dialog show up. It suggests a filename I won't use, and a wrong
directory. Ok so far, libreoffice cannot yet know where I want to store this,
or what name I want.

3. Change the "name" field from "SomeName" to directory/subdirectory/myname

I am sure the directory names are correct, for I used tab-completion. Very nice
feature that. (I just type "dir" and get "directory/" automatically.
So far all is well...

4. Press the "save"button (not "cancel") to actually do this.

At this point, I expected the document to be saved. Instead, a slightly
annoying question if I want to use ODF format. It'd be better if this was part
of the "save as" dialog.

But, that is a very minor annoyance. And the ODF format is ok with me, so:

5. click "Use ODF format".

Now I REALLY expect the document to be saved! In the directory I specified
(with nice help from the save dialog), with the name I specified, and no
further questions or silliness.

But here libreoffice fails me! It does not save the document as specified,
instead it pops ut the "save" dialog? WTF? The "save" dialog has the new name
I specified, and NOT the subdirectory I specified.

And why did I get a dialog at all, at this point? No other software do that to
me. Everywhere else, when I "save as", the document is indeed "saved as"
whatever path/name I specified.

The way I see it, this is a bug i9n the user interface. (A programming bug if
it indeed wasn't meant to be like that - or a design bug if this somehow is
deliberate.) I can NOT see any use for the "save" dialog at this point in time.
I have already entered a path and a filename - AND the document format (ODF)
too. There is nothing more for me to tell libreoffice, so libreoffice should
not ask any more, but just DO WHAT I ALREADY TOLD IT TO DO.

If I cancel this extra "save" dialog, then nothing is saved.
If I press "save", the document is wrongly saved to my home folder. NOT the
folder I specified explicitly - and which libreoffice even helped me to find.

So not only am I annoyed by an unnecessary dialog, there is also information
loss. I did specify a subdirectory, but this was forgotten when the unnecessary
"save" dialog came up.

I can work around this in a number of ways (by moving the file to its correct
place using the "mv" command), so the bug is not critical. But irritating
nonetheless.

@c.weyman,

The 5.0.3 (.1 and .2) build IDs have been added to the check.php Web site
configuration file--so unless the update is disabled (or missing) from your
system--you should see the bubble window dialog.

Functions correctly on Windows 10 Pro, dialog with "... is up to date" or "...
is available" displays.

Don't believe availability of the dialog is not dependent on --"auto" check for
updates-- set during LO install, and dialog should always be available. So
could be a different issue, but we'd need to know what OS and DE are you
working in?

Is the 4.2 series still maintained?
Or should I now file a bug with ubuntu 14.04 (Which should still be maintained

--- Comment #13 from Armin Le Grand ---
Reproduced on linux. Reason is that LinearScaleContext::blendBitmap24 causes
out-of-bound accesses to BitmapReadAccess/BitmapWriteAccess for extreme cases.
It starts with OutputDevice::DrawDeviceAlphaBitmap which on linux may use
OutputDevice::DrawDeviceAlphaBitmapSlowPath (on win and mac not used, so no
crash there). blendBitmap24 in the case of a one pixel source use the correct
index, but always uses tne next scanline to blend with it (pLine1). In case of
a one pixel bitmap that does not exist.
To avoid that a lot of strategies may be used e.g. to not mix with the next
line at all or setup one more index in all cases or similar. Since it is a
corner case (not often, fast) I opt for just using the initial scanline twice
when there is no second, this will do no harm to blending, too. Tried that,
works as expected.
Doing more experiments how this coud be solved better

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95701] "Save As" fail to save, asks irritating unnecessary questions instead

2015-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95701

Another problem is that the unnecessary unwanted "save" dialog is "halfway
modal".

The ordinary "save as" dialog is fully modal, in that it stays on top of the
main window until dismissed, and I can't use any menu choices either until I
dismiss it.

The "halfway modal" dialog still block input to the main window - but if I
click the main window, it goes on top of the stupid "save" dialog. So I'm stuck
with an unresponsive main window and wonder why - there is no dialog floating
on top. So why can't I open the help menu (to get the version number for this
bug report, for example).

This can be worked around by digging up the dialog and closing it. But it'd be
better if that dialog never came up, and the document simply was saved as
specified. The "Save"dialog does not misbehave when brought up the normal way
from File->Save. Then it stays on top as it should.

database (odb)

Dates cannot always be stored within the attached database.
I also checked the Control Panel > Regional settings of my operating system,
which is Windows 2007 Server, but could not find an indication that the date
format is inherited from the operating system, so LibreOffice base appears to
have a logic of its own on date format.

As an example to highlight this concern, that I am not sure has been reported,
see the PEP table and see the LastUpdated field on row 62/63.
Even though the format has been edited, the table still shows the date in short
date format i.e. dd/mm/yy.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this.

Katarina: I noticed this commit
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=2a1fe443a8343642292444be19cbd10700e7e01c
I read the comment of the commit but where is "Use only papersize from printer

2015-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95711

Bug ID: 95711
Summary: installing LibreOffice deletes fonts from system
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vs...@quadium.net

Installed LibreOffice 5.0 on Windows 8.1 via Ninite. After installation fonts
I had installed separately were missing from the system. I know for sure Deja
Vu was affected (I use Deja Vu Sans Mono in many terminals and text editors).

Expected behavior:
LibreOffice is installed

Actual behavior:
LibreOffice is installed, system configuration altered

Suggestion:
Installer should not alter user's system configuration and especially not
remove things

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95712] New: allow different zoom levels per sheet for calc files with 1+x sheets

2015-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95712

Bug ID: 95712
Summary: allow different zoom levels per sheet for calc files
with 1+x sheets
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: st...@openmailbox.org

Very simple enhancement request:

Different sheets can be worked on effectively on various zoom levels.

Currently: LO only has one zoom level for all sheets.

Expected: zoom level changes should be sheet specific. If zoom level on sheet 1
is adjusted, sheet 2 should be unaffected by this change.

I understand there could be cases where having one zoom level for all sheets is
desired behavior. That is if you have sheets with similar structure / data. For
all other use cases, the behavior where zoom level is adjusted on a per sheet
basis is wanted.

Not sure how to best solve this and which default serves most use cases. Until
we can decide that, would be nice to have this as a setting for calc.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93843

I believe I am the original reporter for this bug. I have tried all the
recommendations I can find. I have even deleted the newest version of Libre.
Then went through the computer and deleted any prior folders with mention to
earlier versions of Libre. Even went through the registry and deleted anything
with the word "Libre" in the line. Then I downloaded the newest version of
Libre 5.0.2.2 and installed to a new folder location. The crashes of Libre
continue, although not as frequent as they were when I first sent in the bug
notice. I have tried to keep note of the occurrences ...ie whether the crop
image tool was used, whether you changed the margins, whether you imported a
jpg image, or changed the font type or size. There seems to be no consistent
pattern to the crashes. I always save the file prior to trying to close the
document from either the small X or the program close large X. It just seems
to randomly crash on exit and then automatically comes back up into recovery
mode. Now there have been several occasions when the program says the
file/document was unable to be recovered. Yet it is there and visible where I
had saved it prior to closing the document and I can open the file when I want
to. One other thing I have noticed is that periodically in the folder where I
save the "odt" files, there will be a file that I saved and then a second file
with the same name and just the "#" after the "odt". I have to delete the "#"
before I am able to delete the file. This does not effect the original file.

After using Open Office and then Libre Office for years this has been the most
frustrating situation I have ever had with any program.

Minimal testcase

The original analysis in i#84870 seems to be a somewhat incorrect:

The problem is caused not by object on page 67, but by two objects on pages 53
and 54, their headers having floating frame with page numbering.

The attached document only contain two large objects (black rectangles), each
anchored as character, and the header, the minimal combination that cause the
loop. Also PDF produced by MS Word is included.

LibreOffice 4.4.5.2; HSQL; OpenSuse 13.1;
I tested more thoroughly after looking @ Robert's sample DB. My DB form wasn't
created with a wizard, but I created the checkbox control manually and had
assigned a specific field. Anyway, in an earlier version of LO (3.x), I had
set up reference values in the data tab of the control properties (1=on,
0=off). This worked fine in that version. In this version of LO, this disturbs
current functionality of the control when changing/moving through the records
in the form. When I removed the reference values (back to blank for both
settings) the control worked properly. From my standpoint, this issue can now
be closed.

Hello, Cristophe,

I can confirm there is a problem with that crescent drawing on sheet
6463AM_debut, even on the latest version on 5.0.3.2 (x64):
- indeed it resizes (it seems to swap height with width) if the anchor is left
to cell. I've tried different sizes, in merged and unmerged cells, saving each
time a different instance of the original file and reopening.
- when I switched the anchor to page, problem did not occur

I think I could refine the problem a bit:
- it is not image resizing: that crescent is not an image but a drawing (it can
be edited with that yellow dot, not just resized like an image).
- on changing the column widths, the drawing changes location, ratio and anchor
cell. It happens on the second resize, what ever column I tried. It seems to -1
a column each time.

I've changed your bug triage status from UNCONFIRMED to NEW as a result of my
findings. The team with LibreOffice may take a look into this soon. I've also
changed

Thanks for participating in perfecting this free app

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93967] LibreOffice Crash always after try to save

2015-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93967

I have had this problem since LO 5.0; has continued in each release since then,
now in 5.0.3.2, still experiencing the problem. I experience this problem on
Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Linux Mint 17.2. I use 64-bit version on each OS.

I either paste data into Calc (typically a column of 6 - 30 values) or type a
few values in manually (students' scores for assignments/exercises/quizzes).
After 3 - 8 saves, Calc will crash. All data I entered since the last
successful save is simply lost.

In the past (pre-LO 5.0) I would only save the file after a day's work; now I
save the file after each and every update, because I never know when all my
data (since the last save) will simply be lost.

What further information can I supply to help here? (And if logs, etc. are
needed, please provide information on how to access them in Windows and Linux!)

Shall I set the status back to UNCONFIRMED?

These symptoms are a match for me. However, I've been running with autosave
set to 2 minutes for a long time, certainly before this problem began, which
was a long time ago.

So, I don't think the problem is improved by reducing the autosave time delay.
Libreoffice correctly detects when it was interrupted and that recovery is
required. It's just not able to recover correctly.

yes, that info is what I need - but I cannot reproduce. If I query the server
with that commit-id, I get response that a new version is available.

e.g.:

returns:

so it replies that 5.0.3 is available and offers the corresponding
download-link that then is displayed in the dialog.

In any case: If a manually triggered check for update doesn't show anythign at
all, then this is a different problem.

Maybe the confusion is that it only checks automatically once per week? So
please use Help|Check for updates to manually trigger the request.

This problem can also be reproduced with Doulos SIL font.

I'll change the component to documentation and set to NEW.

Editable help wiki is indeed in the works, although it would not be a plain old
wiki, but having some more customized and efficient workflow.

You are invited to join the help file task force, which currently hangs out on

Perhaps this is because it is using Gtk3, which is still experimental.

Does it look ok, if you launch LibreOffice from a terminal like this:
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.

I have rethought for this idea, only small caps feature can independent of
saved file; other operations is required to be saved in a file, which need ODF
specification support, I think someone can submit a draft to let user defines
typographic feature.

"Someone" - why not you?
https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=office

Also, just a tip, spamming your own bug with 50ish clarifications makes the bug
incredibly hard for any developer to look at. I would suggest going to the ODF
site, maybe send them an email, close this bug as INVALID (because it's
impossible to follow at this point), get clarification from ODF people, then
report a new bug over here. I won't close it, but I can guarantee that almost
every developer will look at this bug for 5 seconds and then move on because of
how many comments (many of which don't enlighten the solution) there are.

Screenshot of Options dialog of LO 5.0.3.2 x86 under Win7 x64

To add to the complexity, when LO 5.0.3.2 x86 is installed under on a Windows
x64 system (tested with Win7 Pro x64 SP1) the option is present.

Therefore this is a Win XP only problem OR a LO x86 under Win x86 only problem.
Can someone with Win7 (or newer) x86 check this?

This problem causes uncertainty to users, as mentioned in topic
