Hi Beluga,

in both installations, where the problem appeared (5.0.4 and 5.1.0), I made no
changes to the font settings. Both installations were out of the box.

--- Comment #8 from marti...@club-internet.fr ---
Maybe I missed some messages, but I didn't see comments telling me that someone
tried and failed to duplicate this bug. So, thanks for your help :)

I tried some things on my computer. I purged all libreoffice packages and
deleted my profile ($HOME/.config/libreoffice) to get a fresh start. I
installed LO 5.1.0 from the website, not from Ubuntu's repository. I got the
same bug.

Then, I went to Options / Display and changed Zoom from 100% to 110% (my
interface is in french, I hope I give the correct names). The menu displayed
properly. I turned the option back to 100% and it was still ok.

The funny thing is : if I close LO and open it again, the bug reappears. I need
to get to Options and do the same procedure again.

I use Lubuntu default settings (theme/font), no specific custom change from me.

  Reporter: w...@caribou.me.uk

Created attachment 122609
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=122609=edit
Example

It would be good if a feature could be added whereby one chart could have
multiple chart types. It appears that a bar/line combo is already available but
I wish to create an area/line combination.

For example, the primary axis might be an area chart and the second axis might
be a line graph. See example photo. This would be useful where wanting to show
some relationship alongside a cumulative percentage graph.

I'm new to this so it'd be great to hear what more information you require from
me.

Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97835] New: FORMATTING: Spurious decimal point in user defined numeric format

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97835

Bug ID: 97835
Summary: FORMATTING: Spurious decimal point in user defined
numeric format
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pbronline-freedesk...@yahoo.co.uk

If I use the ''General'' format I have:

2
1.5
1.75
1.333

If I don't want more than 2 decimal places I can use a user defined
format such as ''#.##''. I get:

2
1.5
1.75
1.33

Good. Now, suppose the numbers have a unit. Let's take metres rather
than money. The user defined format ''General" m"'' gives:

2 m
1.5 m
1.75 m
1.333 m

OK, but I don't want more than 2 decimal places so I try ''#.##" m"'':

2. m
1.5 m
1.75 m
1.33 m

Oh, sugar plum fairies and all that ! Now the first exemplar is wrong:
it is clearly inconsistent with other formats and I can't see how the
user defined format can be read as "leave in the decimal point when it
clearly isn't necessary for understanding the value displayed."

If there is an alternative way for getting the right result, please let
me know. Otherwise, please fix.

If you decide to fix this bug, as I sincerely hope, be careful you don't
inadvertently also fix bug 90684.

That bug that describes odd behaviour of an undocumented use of ? to alter
how a number is displayed and cannot be fixed for reasons of sideways
compatibility with equally brain-dead implementations elsewhere.

This bug attempts to use quotes to include text in a format without altering
how the number is displayed as documented on the help pages. Clearly
a different issue although the two may share a root cause.

Oh, and yes, it is present in 5.1.0 but has been present since at least 3.5.7.

However, in those commits marked as "good", the behaviour is also a bit
strange. While no second cursor is shown in that case, the place where the
cursor was initially is not filled with the correct part of the letters but
stays white/empty.

@Kendy: Could you possibly have a look at this?

Is the second cursor possibly only a changed behaviour in a bug that already
existed previously or is it independent of this?

PS: In order to build the single commits, I needed to revert commit
5cbb51c009fa266e8418ef93799ac64e431c22f5 each time - the original bibisect log
in comment 4 shows that otherwise those builds are non-functional.

Basic steps I took for each commit considered during the bisect (in case
somebody wants to do this as well):

git revert --no-commit 5cbb51c009fa266e8418ef93799ac64e431c22f5
make build-nocheck
instdir/program/soffice
# test whether the bug is present
git revert --abort
git bisect [good|bad]

Screenshot - Behaviour before the second cursor appeard

This screenshot shows the behaviour mentioned in comment 7 in those commits
where the second cursor is not present.
The cursor was initially in between the letters "d" and "f" (first occurence).
Now, the space where it was is emtpy/white - a small part of the "f" is
missing.

The screenshot has been taken with a build based on commit
a2675cb3778cc086ed82ad6375dba4b11b7c7911 (and commit
5cbb51c009fa266e8418ef93799ac64e431c22f5 reverted, as mentioned in my previous
comment).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93076] LO 5.0rc5 Drawing problems of LibreOffice toolbar icons and other UI elements

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93076

this is still happening in v 5.1.0.3 64bit, both in calc and writer, see
screenshot attachments labeled bug rendering in calc/writer 5.1.0.3
The problem is not limited to 'jumping icons', the body of text and cell
structure are also victims.

the Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View are:
Graphics Output: all are unchecked,
but also tried with
- Use OpenGL and with
- Use anti-aliasing
and had the same issues.

Time to go back to v 4 until this gets fixed because it's just too difficult to
work with something that jumps all over and has no idea where the cursor is in
relation to cells or text or icons.

I'd think that this would be considered a serious error/bug.

Note: once an ods or odt has been open for awhile, about 10 minutes but this
varies more or less, the document finally becomes stable and no longer jumps
around so it seems to me that some needed components are not loaded yet when
the documents are opened but do get loaded if I wait long enough. But this is
hardly what should happen, open a document 10 minutes before you want to work
with it, even if just reading it let alone update it.

In a separate bug I was told that OpenGL needs work re: rendering

It must be a scary problem since no one has been willing to work on it.

I've found two workarounds:

1) install version 4.4.0.1 and then manually edit each line to remove the
arrowhead. (saving lines with arrowheads removed will persist under this
version only -- reopening the file with any newer version of LibreOffice will
add the arrowheads back)

2) in the newest version of openoffice 5.0.2.2: create a new presentation and
manually copy and paste THE CONTENTS of every slide into a new slide in the new
file. (NOTE: copying the slide itself will not get rid of the problem)

problematic file

I try to add a column and copy/pasting into most sheets in the attachment. I
first did it by hand, however, the app crashes after about 15 sheets, every
time. I then write a macro (called "temp" in the file) to do it, and it also
crashes. I then found that the app consumed all memory until it crashes.

Please refer to "Sub Temp" in the file to see what causes the memory leak.

No, it's fine. I think your graphics card is in the blacklist, but they forgot
to include the blacklist in 5.1.0 release :)
It will be corrected in 5.1.1, so any problematic gfx drivers will cause OGL to
be automatically disabled.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97837] New: FORMATTING: General Replaces User Defined Format When Workbook is Saved, Close and Reopened

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97837

Bug ID: 97837
Summary: FORMATTING: General Replaces User Defined Format When
Workbook is Saved, Close and Reopened
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pbronline-freedesk...@yahoo.co.uk

User defined custom formats may be re-arranged (normalised) by LibreOffice.
For example: {{{General "Strike"}}} is rearranged as {{{General" Strike"}}}.

You may have to save, close and reopen the workbook to see this but, yes,
the space has moved from the left to the right of the adjacent quote.

Over time, I've got the hang of this and now experience few surprises.

However there is one unwelcome one.

I know the @ symbol has special significance and must be quoted, for example:
{{{"@ "General}}}. Does what it should and survives save/close/reopen.

I do not know that the / symbol has any special significance but I quote it
anyway: {{{"/ "General}}}. This does what it should but does not survive
save/close/reopen. When the workbook is reopened, the format has been changed
to just {{{General}}}.

I don't want {{{"@ "General}}}: it's just the simplest example I can think of.

I want {{{"/ "#,##0.00}}} but that too is re-arranged to just {{{General}}}.

Actually, I want {{{[>0]"/ "#,##0.00;[<0]"/ -"#,##0.00;0}}} but this gets
rearranged to {{{[>0]General;[<0]"/ -"#,##0.00;0}}}.

This looks to me like unintended behaviour rather than aping the behaviour
of other spreadsheets.

This behaviour is present in 5.1.0. It was first noticed in 3.5.7, which I
still use on a daily basis. I've checked 3.3.0 and the behaviour is there
also so I guess it was inherited from OOo.

me to select a valid date prior to 1600. You can go back further in the
calendar to say 1400 but it will not enter anything prior to the year 1600.

Not as much as I hoped - partly because he's working in LibreOffice code really
rare, which makes the treshold a bit higher.
So it better to look for other options.

I am setting status NEW.

I see that the arrow keys will not move the caret so that it shows at
the end of the line after the hyphen. If, however, you click after
the hyphen, the caret moves after the hyphen, and then
sends LiberOffice into a loop: the hyphen remains, CPU usage is high,
and LibreOffice does not respond to mous clicks or keystrokes.

In a local build of commit ebd6884, the bus loop is in
SwTextFrame::_Format, sw/source/core/text/frmform.cxx lines 1425
to 1524.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97839] New: Special characters dialog when codepoint above BMP are selected, the Characters: edit buffer problem

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97839

Bug ID: 97839
Summary: Special characters dialog when codepoint above BMP are
selected, the Characters: edit buffer problem
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu

Special Character dialog...

With OpenGL disabled (to work around bug 97319) when SEP or higher planes are
exposed by OS or CLI launch (work around bug 71603), the Special Characters
dialog's Characters: edit buffer is not composing the multi-byte codepoints
reliably.

Seems to be using fall-back to system font rather than the glyph from the
selected font family. In any case the field is being visually garbled, so not
clear what would be selected/copy/pasted.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97732] Characters have changed in 5.1

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97732

after uninstalling 5.0 and installing 5.1 i did not make any changes to
settings. I just open a document after installing that I have opened before
with 5.0, now with 5.1, and there was, some strange characters.

Now, I check the setting you mention and deselect it, reopen a document and it
looks fine.

I do not know how this setting was suddenly checked. Probably it was installed
whit new version. But it is, I must say, not a pleasant surprise. Maybe this
decision deserves a second thought?

Thank you

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96590] UI: save icon does not give a hint of the document status

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96590

I just had a look at the attachment, the "blue star" is visible but not
overwhelmingly so, I would try and make it stand out more... this is an
indicator nobody stares into for a long time, rather something that should be
easy to spot in a quick glance.
I am not used to these (because I'm a windoze user or a user of a different
icon set), but the 2 are clearly different (the difference between them is much
more evident than the blue star), unfortunately they really suggest two
different things: a hard disk the "saved" one and a floppy disk for the "needs
saving" one.
So I must say that I don't find them fitting, as their difference should convey
a meaning that is different from their visual content. IMHO an icon is as good
as is intuitive in visually conveying the concept it stands for.

Alternatively, I would avoid differing icons and opt for a much more visible
and "alarming" signal on the icon, such a bog red point (="ALARM!! this need to
be saved!!!") as I placed in my attachment.

This said, I must admit that the whole business of changing the standard
behaviour of the save icon still appears somewhat a waste of energies more
usefully spent of other more urgent issues to me.
It is really the LAST thing I would have voted as neeeding urgent care... but
opinions differ obviously so that's it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97840] New: EDITING: table's or field's name does'n get updated in the forms

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97840

Bug ID: 97840
Summary: EDITING: table's or field's name does'n get updated in
the forms
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: boicot...@yahoo.it

When I change a field's or a table's name, an existing form is not updated, so
its fields have to be edited one by one or re-created.
Strangely enough, the labels created with the wizard are updated.
To reproduce:
1. create a table with some fields
2. create a form with the wizard with all the fields
3. change the name of the table or some of the fields
4. the form labels are updated, not the fileds queries.
I would expect every reference to the updated name shall update to keep things
working.

Work around the issue of bug 71603 using CLI or OS to launch swriter directly,
opening the above attachment 122194 or attachment 108223 (from bug 85109)

With OpenGL disabled the SEP, and also Plane 2 (from CJK Unified Ideographs
Extension B block in Sim-sum) glyphs are rendered and fallback occurs.

With OpenGL rendering enabled SEP and Plane 2 glyphs are not rendered--fall
back does not occur.

So this really looks to be an OpenGL only font glitch, but just Windows??? Some
other confirmation would be nice.

Adding to bug 93529

=-aside-=
filed bug 97839 for the Special Character dialog...

Although with OpenGL disabled, when SEP or higher planes are exposed by OS or
CLI launch, the Special character dialog is having trouble with characters in
the paste preview bar, not composing the multi-byte codepoints.

The same problem occurs with vertical freeze lines.

(Empty) Cell A23 contains "Data/Validity/Input Help". It is a multi-line piece
of thext and contains instructions that are important when using the
spreadsheet.

There is a vertical freeze line between columns 'F' and 'G' and the output from
the "Input Help" is badly truncated making it totally useless.

PLEASE FIX THIS AS IT IS BADLY BROKEN!

Hui Cor,

Thank you for answer so quick!

I am sorry i forgot, Ubuntu 64 bits.

I restart the User Profile and, as expected, i had to add the data source
again, but still i can't drag fields or column headers to the document.

Also, (i am not sure if i should open a new bug, but i think it's kind of
related) when changing the size of the page from letter to legal i have to use
the keyboard and press enter, the mouse doesn't work.

Notes: I didn't have neither one of this problems before the upgrade, i am
using an hp15-g011la notebook [1.0 GHz AMD E1-2100 Accelerated Processor; 4GB
DDR3L SDRAM], and neither two external mouses not the tocuhpad are working.

I think that it is some kind of bug about the coursor or the mouse. Because i
also have felt different the scroll after the upgrade.

That's because you're using the Human icon theme, which doesn't have "not
saved" icon, so it fallbacks to Tango theme for this particular icon. Any
suggestions for a Human "not saved" icon are welcome.

2016-02-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95573

Hmm; the check for updates window is opened in a new thread; which inevitably
causes problems.

I'd strongly prefer to close this bug; and have a new clean bug that's easy for
me to catch up with with the limited time I have here.

I need some new back-traces, with debugging symbols, of all threads when it is
hung & not showing anything.

Ideally also - I'd have some SAL_LOG=1 output (as we had for fedora above) from
a dbgutil build to see what the scheduler is doing. Without that, and without
being able to reproduce it (no Mac) it's hard to get further.

ATB.
