Hi there

As of the latest daily build available, Version: 5.1.2.0.0+, Build ID:

Unfortunately, this prevent s us from upgrading LO to any version 5. Is there a
fix time?

Thanks

> Perhaps this is an EasyHack?

Yes it is simple enough to associate Ctrl+Space with column selection as the
shortcut is not currently used in Calc, but do we want to keep Ctrl+Shift+Space
as is or change it to an alternative sheet select to supplement Ctrl+A?

(In reply to Óvári from comment #2)
> Google Sheets and MS Excel have:
> Ctrl+Space Select column(s)
> Shift+Space Select row(s)
> Ctrl+Shift+Space Select Sheet

Gnumeric also uses these shortcuts, though Ctrl + A is the primary shortcut
used to select Excel and Google Sheets for selecting a sheet

> Could not find how to select multiple sheets in Google Sheets; however, MS
> Excel can select multiple sheets:
> Ctrl+Shift+Space Select Sheet(s)

Not sure how Excel could use the same shortcut for both selecting a sheet and
selecting multiple sheets.

We definitely do not need the e-mail header. Neither do we need the bug header
(package, version, severity), becuase the info there is Debian-specific
(version should be selected using the Version field).

In fact, "Tools - Options - LibO - View - Use OpenGL for all rendering" was
checked in my case. When i unchecked that option, Devnagari text appears

file containting the clang plugin output

Currently many places in sc/qa/unit/ucalc* use CPPUNIT_ASSERT instead of
CPPUNIT_ASSERT_EQUAL or CPPUNIT_ASSERT_DOUBLES_EQUAL. Therefore if one of these
checks fails during the test run we are not seeing the expected and the actual
value.

The task is to replace the places of CPPUNIT_ASSERT that contain a operator==
check with CPPUNIT_ASSERT_EQUAL. There are two small problems that make the
task a bit more challenging: both parameters to CPPUNIT_ASSERT_EQUAL need to be
of the same type so you might need to cast one of the types especially if it is
an integral type.

e.g CPPUNIT_ASSERT_EQUAL(size_t(3), aVector.size());

Additionally you should not use CPPUNIT_ASSERT_EQUAL with float or double
values. So if one of the types is a double you should use ASSERT_DOUBLES_EQUAL
instead.

The attached file contains all places that our clang compiler plugin found
where CPPUNIT_ASSERT is used together with operator==.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98263] New: Autofill does not respect data validation rule

2016-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98263

Bug ID: 98263
Summary: Autofill does not respect data validation rule
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rgno...@gmail.com

I'm using LibreOffice 5.1.0.3 (1:5.1.0~rc3-0ubuntu1~trusty0) on Ubuntu 14.04
LTS (64 bits). To reproduce the bug, follow these steps:

1. Open a new book with Calc.
2. For Sheet 1, fill cells A2 to A4 with 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Write 'ID'
in A1, for the column header.
3. For sheet 2, write 'Name' in A1, and 'ID' in B1.
4. Fill range A2:A5 of sheet 2 with the following names: 'Berta', 'Allan',
'Mary', and 'Fred' (or whatever you want).
4. Set a data validation rule for range B2:B30 of sheet 2, by allowing only
values coming from range A2:A15 of sheet 1 (let's suppose that, over time, you
could add more and more IDs in sheets 1 and 2).
5. For sheet 2, enter a value of 2 in cell B2. Then, click the bottom-right
corner of B2, and let Calc to auto-fill B3:B5.

Current behaviour: Calc automatically fills the range with values 3, 4, and 5,
but 4 and 5 are not valid, according with the data validation rule set in step
4. Even more, not a single error message warns you about the error.

Expected behaviour: Calc shouldn't fill the range with invalid values.

I have Windows10 x64 and I have checked:
I have there installed both: Java x64 & java x86:
jre-8u73-windows-i586.exe
jre-8u73-windows-x64.exe

And that problem only exist on x64 LibreOffice Writer and only with some files
( not on every of my old files. That is why I have came to this conclusion:
that it might be linked with the version of program in which those were saved.
But maybe problem is not caused by that.

When I have reinstalled again LibreOffice x64
I have came on another bug:

On the sidebar settings there are: "Properties"
There is last tab: "Page" when I click "More Options"
LibreOfficex64 made the same crash - on new empty file.
At least this time file is recovered.
But clicking again on that option made crash again - every time.

Maybe there is problem on my System only...but I do not have crashes on
LibreOffice x86

I do not know if those Crashes are connected.
But on LibreOfficex86 those problems are not there.

And the same problems have noticed my brother on his computer with Windows 7
x64.

please review my comments @ ask libo (KENG) re number format & recognition.
this is an indication that this is an area sorely lacking in documentation. by
trial & error i was able to acheive the desired effect. the attached file
shows blue hi lighted data in the desired format. the yellow hi lighted data
is the issue as if i select the data & format paragraph the "tabs" option is
missing. this was not the case with the blue data.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98141] SVG application icons too large/detailed

2016-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98141

--- Comment #3 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips ---
Looking in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/, libreoffice provides raster icons for
16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 128x128, 256x256, and 512x512, which can be utilized by
application launchers.

So i checked the application launchers from different desktop environments to
see what they utilized.

16x16: LXDE
22x22 or 24x24: Gnome 2, Mint Mate, XFCE
28x28: KDE 5 (all their icons are breeze)
32x32: KDE 4, Gnome 3 Launcher (might be different at different resolutions)
48x48: Unity Launcher
64x64: Unity
96x96: Gnome 3

Only Gnome 3 seemed like it was processing the SVGs as likely it was searching
for raster versions in the 96x96 folder, but it only rendered them once and
then cached the result.

So how i see it is that we should include 22x22, 24x24, 64x64 and 96x96 raster
icons in our linux packages so that launchers dont have to scale down larger
raster versions (this is happening in Ubuntu Mate -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1551029) and newer full screen
launchers dont have to render the svg.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98257] New: quotation mark characters are added to date-fields, when importing .csv file

2016-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98257

Bug ID: 98257
Summary: quotation mark characters are added to date-fields,
when importing .csv file
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: am...@gmx.net

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/44.0
Build Identifier: LibreOffice 5.0.5.2

When loading files in „.csv-text-format“, „'“-Characters (single quotation
mark) are predone to „date-fields“. These become only visible in the programm,
if the format of the „date-field“ is changed. Only after extinguishing of this
Character, the „date-field“ ist shown properly formatted (For instance
-mm-dd).

Beim Laden von Files im .csv-Textformat werden den Datumsfeldern '
(Hochkomma)-Zeichen vorangestellt. Diese werden im Programm erst sichtbar, wenn
das Format des Datumsfeldes geändert wird. Erst nach Löschen dieses Zeichens
wird das Datum richtig formatiert dargestellt (z. B. -mm-dd).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load example file containing date-fields
2. Change the format of date fields
3. format of date-fields remain unchanged, because they are interpreted as text
because of the "'"-characters in front of each field
Actual Results:
Format change ist not successfull.

Expected Results:
Format change is displayed correctly

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48066] SVG: stroke-linecap="round" and stroke-miterlimit="1" are ignored

2016-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48066

I have tested with a current daily build Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 85fcf15ff41ceb95f46dee586ff7187551be4955
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default;
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2016-02-27_09:23:38
Locale: de-DE (de_DE)

The round linecaps are drawn correctly know, if you _import_ the svg-image. If
you use File>Open, the linecaps are still wrong. But it has been decided, that
the File>Open algorithm will be dropped in favor of the import algorithm, so
that only one algorithm has to be maintained. Therefore the problem
linecap="round" do not need to be considered any longer.

The problem "miterlimit" still exists and is relevant for svg import.

I have found, that the method basegfx::tools::createAreaGeometry is prepared to
use a miterlimit, but none of its callers uses this parameter. The relevant one
seems to be method
 uno::Reference< rendering::XCachedPrimitive >
CanvasHelper::strokePolyPolygon()
in /core/canvas/source/vcl/canvashelper.cxx. It has some comments, which I read
as if the feature miterlimit is yet not implemented.

OpenGL was not switched on!
And switching OpenGL on didn't change a thing!

But ... from my experience in UI development it would surprise me to make
really a difference, because the used colors are defined at the level of device
context usage, no matter if WGL DC or WIN32 DC!
If the UI would have rendered differently, severe bugs would be the reason,
wouldn't it?

i am not shure about version 5.0.4.
because many people said that it was unstable and had many crashes like

Wrong hyphenation in Danish still exist in LO 5.1.0.3. (win7 64-bit)
It seems to bee a font problem.
When using for example font "Palatino Linotype" the hyphenation is
"etikett-ttebøger", should be "etiket-tebøger". Also other fonts make this
problem. But with Arial or Times New Roman, no problems.
The second "tt" is out of the left margin in beginning of the line.
Is it not only 'tt' but also other letters are misspelled
When using the spell-function (Function>Language>hyphenation )on the wrong
word, the misspell disappear.

Summary: SERIOUS BUG - Crash Error All available Versions of
LibreOffice x64 when open some old *.odt files of
LibreOffice x86
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pawel.d...@wp.pl

Created attachment 123058
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=123058=edit
one of odt files which are makeing LibreOffice_x64 crash !!!

Tested on:
OS:
Windows 7 x64
Windows 10 x64

Tested VERSION of LibreOffice - CRASH ERROR:
5.0.3 x64
5.0.4.2 x64
5.0.5.2 x64
5.1.0.3 x64
5.1.1.1 x64

Tested VERSION of LibreOffice - WITHOUT CRASH ERROR:
5.1.1.1 x86

Some older files of Libreoffice are crashing the Libreoffice x64 when you are
trying to open the odt file. The program says that need to be restarted, and
that files will be recovered - but on the list is not shown the file which made
the program crash. So the file stays unreadable and not repaired.

I have tested all x64 versions which were available for downloading.
The same error on those odt files.

I thing that all those files which are generating crash, were made in
LibreOffice x86,
I am not sure how I may check if it really is.

Available SOLUTION:
I have tested that, the problem is not marked when I have installed Libreoffice
x86. Now all the odt files are openable. But this do not resolve the problem.
Just shows that problem is only in X64 version od LibreOffcie.

I hope that you may fix that ERROR because it is SERIOUS BUG,
it may made some people nervous, they may think that their files are broken,
and that their work is gone - what is not the true, because files are OK, and
the file content is save.

(I was trying also some various odt files created between the dates of 06.2011
and 07.2015)
With kind regards
Paweł Dobrowolski

PS. I am waiting for that fix which will allow me to use normally on windows 10
x64 version of LibreOffice x64. Since then I do not recommend to anybody to use
it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98255] New: Excel keyboard shortcut bindings for Calc

2016-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98255

Bug ID: 98255
Summary: Excel keyboard shortcut bindings for Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: dennisfrancis...@gmail.com,
libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org

After learning about the ability to use the OO.o legacy keyboard shortcuts
through Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc > Compatibility in bug 97906, I felt
it would be a good idea to provide Excel users with that ability to change
Calc's default shortcuts to those found in Excel. This would reduce the barrier
of entry for Excel shortcut/power users and make it easy for shortcut users who
use both Excel and Calc on a regular basis.

Looking at Dennis's patch in bug 97906, it would be useful if the
ScDocShell::ResetKeyBindings() function in sc/source/ui/docshell/docsh.cxx
could load shortcuts from an external xml source, so that it is not hardcoded
and easier to modify by non-programmers (like me :D). Here is an example for
the shortcuts

   F4

   MOD1
   SHIFT

and here is an example for the bindings

   .uno:ClearContents

   .uno:Delete

   .uno:ViewDataSourceBrowser

I'm currently gathering the list of Excel shortcuts and their associations with
LO's UNO commands.

Created attachment 123056

zero-length segments with linecap "round"

In SVG import, the linecaps are missing, if the line segment has zero-length.
But in the SVG spec you read in
https://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/painting.html#StrokeProperties
"A subpath (see Paths) consisting of a single moveto shall not be stroked. Any
zero length subpath shall not be stroked if the ‘stroke-linecap’ property has a
value of butt but shall be stroked if the ‘stroke-linecap’ property has a value
of round or square, producing respectively a circle or a square centered at the
given point. Examples of zero length subpaths include 'M 10,10 L 10,10', 'M
20,20 h 0', 'M 30,30 z' and 'M 40,40 c 0,0 0,0 0,0'."
and in https://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/implnote.html#PathElementImplementationNotes
"As mentioned in Stroke Properties, linecaps must be painted for zero length
subpaths when ‘stroke-linecap’ has a value of round or square."

The ODF specification (ODF1.2 section 20.164) has no own text for the attribute
"svg:stroke-linecap" but refers to SVG. And the draw:path element refers to the
attribute svg:d. Therefore the linecaps should be drawn in case of value
"round" and "square" for Draw elements as well.

Such caps on zero-length segments should result in a circle or square
respectively. Opening the attached file in Inkscape, Batik, Chrome or
Seamonkey, you can see, that the caps are drawn too for zero-length lines and
polylines.

Because the caps of zero-length segments are not drawn in case of our own
objects, it is likely, that the relevant code is not in svgio but in basegfx.

Added URL for the Design session blog --

http://user-prompt.com/libreoffice-design-session-special-character/

Issue/Problem as extracted:

-* There is no way to quickly re-use recently-picked special characters,
forcing the user to search in the whole character map, which has no filter to
narrow down results.

-* People writing scientific/legal essays or reports frequently need to insert
accented letters and other characters.

-* Technical POV to special characters (alignment 15 by 15) instead of natural
organization

-* The subset is limited by presetting a special font (some chars cannot be
found when the wrong font is set-up)

-* Search function is missing (should be available for name, id, symbol…)

-* Weird interaction with selection first followed by copy/paste from
Characters

-* No individualization like store last subset, or define ‘my own subset’

Good it is taken seriously. But a newcomer would likely start their first build
precisely during weekends or holidays where he or she has the time...

> It is already:
> BuildingOnWindows#Buildability_of_.27master.27

Thank you. Then I need to add that section to (or refer to it in)
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/lode, which was the procedure I
followed and was recommended to follow.

> > Is there a git tag or similar for the latest buildable version
> > of LibreOffice?
> No. Just look at tinderbox.libreoffice.org or ci.libreoffice.org.

Thanks for the pointers. It is not immediately clear from those pointers how to
see it, though. Again, I am a newcomer and also want to describe a process that
a newcomer can actually follow to get a successful build. I believe the details
of learning all those things should come after the successful build. Otherwise
newcomers will be put off by unnecessary initial complexity.

> > Which build do the initial
> > setup instructions on https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/lode
> > tell the newcomer to set up? Jenkins_Win64_Dbg, Jenkins_Windows or
> > Jenkins_Windows_Dbg?
> None of them in particular. It depends on the flags you pass to autogen.sh
> and/or your compiler, e.g. something might fail in debug build only, or fail
> for MSVC 2013 but not for 2015 etc.

Except that I specifically referred to the recommended instructions at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/lode. And they do give specific
instructions; they do not tell the reader to pass flags of the reader's taste
to autogen.sh or the compiler, or to install Visual Studio 2015 instead of the
currently instructed 2013. He or she just follows the instructions in order to
get one first successful build, without understanding much about building
LibreOffice as a beginner.

That's my point: I believe there should be instructions to get one successful
build. Then, if the newcomer wants to deviate from those instructions after
that and make another build with specific flags or use another version of
Visual Studio, there would be no guarantee of a successful build and the
newcomer would have to read and look around more. But they would know that a
failed build was now due to that specific change in specified flags or the
change in environment. I just believe the first build should be straight ahead,
so the newcomer can check that the initial environment was set up correctly.
And I would like to write the instructions to make such a build – if it is
possible, which I am not sure it is.

I am guessing that following the
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/lode instructions will build
one of the three Jenkins builds. Is that true? And if so, which one of them? If
it doesn't build one of those, how can the newcomer then know if a failed build
was caused by them not setting up the prerequisites correctly?

Summary: Format of paragraph or characters on sidebar not
visible, if text is black (default)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.1.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de

Created attachment 123055
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=123055=edit
Open the attachement - shows disappered formatdescription on sidebar

Open the attached *.pdf-file.
There are 4 screenshots.
On the sidebar the paragraphs or the defined characters are shown.
If I set the cursor in text, which is defined as black(default), the name of
the paragraph disappears on the sidebar. Only a grey rectangle shows where I
could find the paragraph.
If I set the cursor in text, which is defined in any special color (not black)
it will be shown on the sidebar.
Its the same behavior for paragraphs and characters,

My system: OpenSUSE 42.1 64bit rpm Linux, tested all with LO 5.1.1.1

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98252] New: Conditional Formatting

2016-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98252

Bug ID: 98252
   Summary: Conditional Formatting
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d...@mac233.com

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:44.0)
Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0
Build Identifier: LibreOffice 5.0.5.2

Conditional Formatting is still broken, and has been since 3.5.7.
When bringing up the conditional format window, you cannot change to a
different tab to select a cell. For years this has been a problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select a cell
2.Click format, click conditional format, click condition.
3.Try to change to another sheet tab in the workbook

Actual Results:
You cannot go to another sheet tab in the workbook to select a cell

Expected Results:
Be able to go to another sheet tab in the workbook to select a cell

[Information automatically included from LibreOffice]
Locale: en-US
Module: SpreadsheetDocument
[Information guessed from browser]
OS: Linux (All)
OS is 64bit: yes

Reset User Profile? No. This bug has been the exact same for years. The last
time conditional formatting worked, like it does in all other spread sheet
applications, was v3.5.7
Once again, due to this long standing bug, we are unable to use LibreOffice.

None of them in particular. It depends on the flags you pass to autogen.sh

for MSVC 2013 but not for 2015 etc.

2016-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98002

Well, the build was unsuccessful. And just from reading the instructions, I
would have no idea whether the setup process doesn't work, or there is a
current bug in LibreOffice master that makes it unbuildable.

A lot of building went fine (19,475 log lines), but then this:

" Creating library
C:/LibreOfficeDev/lode/dev/core/workdir/LinkTarget/Library/ivcl.lib and object
C:/LibreOfficeDev/lode/dev/core/workdir/LinkTarget/Library/ivcl.exp

referenced in function "public: static bool __cdecl

96
make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs
Makefile:249: recipe for target 'build' failed
make: *** [build] Error 2"

Which is of course complete nonsense to someone that does not already know the
LibreOffice source code.

And as a newcomer, I don't even want to know why
C:/LibreOfficeDev/lode/dev/core/instdir/program/vcllo.dll does not exist. I
want to solve or investigate a specific bug, and not something completely
unrelated.

I can see now by looking around that
http://tinderbox.libreoffice.org/cgi-bin/gunzip.cgi?tree=MASTER=1456661833.19143
shows that exact error in the latest build, so this time it is actually a bug
in the LibreOffice code that makes the build fail. But just from following the
instructions, I wouldn't know that.

I guess the problem is that the setup process describes how to build the
bleeding edge master, which is often unbuildable, and not a version that has
actually been proven to be buildable. As a newcomer, you will have no idea
whether a failed build was due to something that was set up wrong on your
machine or due to an actual bug in the current master LibreOffice code that
simply makes it impossible to build. That's frustrating.

So, I am thinking that at least the process should tell the newcomer to have a
look at the current status of the correct column of
http://tinderbox.libreoffice.org/MASTER/status.html first, before even trying
to build. Currently there are three different Windows versions mentioned, and a
newcomer will have no idea what they are trying to build, so the instructions
should tell which column to look at. Personally, I still don't know which
column it is.

But I believe it would be even better to make the setup instructions tell the
newcomer how to build a version that is actually known to be buildable (and
buildable in the specific environment that the user was instructed to set up).
Because then he or she can check that everything is set up correctly for
building. In that way the newcomer would know whether a failed build was caused
by failing to set up the environment correctly, or whether the LibreOffice code
itself is unbuilable. That would take away a lot of frustration. Is there a git
tag or similar for the latest buildable version of LibreOffice?

I believe a newcomer should have an initial easy success experience, always
being able to build LibreOffice by following simple and clear instructions.
After that, he or she can learn more and become more accustomed to the
intricate details of LibreOffice source code and build environment, but there
shouldn't be a steep learning curve just to make a first successful build. It
should just work if the instructions are followed.

I would love to improve the instructions to at least tell the user to check
Tinderbox before building, but being one of those newcomers I am talking about,
I still don't have enough information. Which build do the initial setup
instructions on https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/lode tell the
newcomer to set up? Jenkins_Win64_Dbg, Jenkins_Windows or Jenkins_Windows_Dbg?
