Of course you can use this way to create mind maps and everything you want.
I work with theoretical physics many times, so I need to connect theories to
visualize maps.
Visualizing information is absolutely necessary for every flow chart, it has
applications in many areas, programming, organizational tasks, office,
management, academical, etc.
I don't know if have you used Gephi? for Data Visualization. I developed the
idea of the Automation window because it is easy to create everything you
want... and connect it. 
You type, you connect, you type, you connect, as easy as that.
HOWEVER, this idea need a SAVE BUTTON... to save the introduced data... or you
can avoid the save button and the introduced data then is recorded
automatically inside the Draw file.
Also, it would be cool if we add to the automation Window several presets for
an autoalign in the same style as yED. You can vary the way the flowchart
looks, just by selecting other approach to the organization.
In yED you have layout and then a lot of presets, hierarchical... organic...
orthogonal... circular... tree. That is pretty cool. We should have also
templates to organize the way the charts looks in the automation window.

test.odt - example tables

If some cells (one vertically over another) are selected and copied, and then
pasted into text somewhere, a new table is created containing the copied cells.

However, the width of the new table seems to always be the width of the *entire
tabl* from which the cells were copied, not the width of the group of cells
actually copied and pasted.  This produces some strange results which are
probably not intended.

Here's a suggestion: Make the new table have a width equal to the width of the
copied cells only; or alternatively, the width of the text object into which
the cells are pasted -- which, in the case of pasting into another cell, would
be the width of the receiving cell.  OTOH, auto-adjusting column widths could
make this complicated.   But pasting a table which is so wide that it hangs
over the right margin can't be right.

A secondary problem is that text inside the copied cells is unpredictably lost
or truncated when pasting into another cell (see screenshot).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Load the attached test.odt
2. Select the two yellow cells at once; control-C to copy
3. Click once in the bottom cell; control-V to paste
4. Clice once in the "regular text not in a table" and Control-V.
5-8: Repeat 2-4 but with the blue table, which is narrower.

RESULTS: The pasted cells produce a new table which is the same width as the
entire table from which the cells were copied (see screen shot).

EXPECTED RESULTS: The new table should be only as wide as the cells copied, or
as wide as the object containing the text area being pasted into (for example,
as wide as the receiving cell when pasting into text inside a cell).

I am creating a series of documents to be exported as PDFs.  My intention is to
provide a navigation system between these PDFs by using relative hyperlinks. 
The problem is that Draw does not allow me to insert relative hyperlinks.  I
either must specify a fully formed URL (or it converts it automatically to an
http:// address) or an absolute link to a file in the filesystem (e.g.
file:///D:/TEST/FTP%20Sync/Testing/PDF1.pdf).

I am needing the Insert Hyperlink function to permit linking to a relative link
such as:

\menu.pdf
\doc1.pdf
\doc2.pdf
\DeptA\Adoc1.pdf
\DeptB\Bdoc1.pdf

When exporting, same value (nPrecision) is stored for both nNumeratorDigits and

Description: 
In  element, Gnumeric treats both attributes
min-denominator-digits and max-denominator-digits (see bug 38097#c27), while
LibO knows only min-denominator-digits like ODF 1.2 standard:

ODF 1.3 will include max-denominator-digits:
https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3695

LibO should now also treats this attribute. As actual LibO treats
"min-denominator-digits" as the maximum of denominator digits, backward
compatibility should carefully checked.

IMHO, when importing:
- if both attributes (min and max-denominator-digits) are present, treat them
normally (it would be great also to import gnm:max-denominator-digits as
number:max-denominator-digits)
- if only min-denominator-digits is present, consider it as
max-denominator-digits and set min-denominator-digits to 0
- format string should be build with n_q number of '?' and n_z number of '0',
with n_z = min-denominator-digits and n_q = max-denominator-digits -
min-denominator-digits

Main issue will be when exporting. As min-denominator-digits="0" is not
recognized (see bug 38097#c27) with actual version of LibO, fraction format
will be lost if file is opened with actual or previous version. This should be
exported to specifically ODF 1.3

it is true! I disable `Show application menu` via gnome-tweak-tool

anyway:
1- other apps fully work without problems
2- even disabled, there is a little problem; as you can see in the third
screenshot, the application menu stops loading after 30 seconds more or less

Steps to easily reproduce:
1. Open Gnumeric
2. Format > Cells > Format > Number
3. Select Fraction and set "Minimum number of denominator digits:" to 0
4. Save as ODF 1.2 Extended, Close
5. Open with LibO

Actual behavior:
Format is General

Expected behavior:
Fraction format should be kept

OOXMLFactory_shared-math.cxx is generated from
writerfilter/source/ooxml/model.xml
the lines 8218 and 8219 are responsible for the findings.

and all following

hmm, start means align to leading edge
and end means align to tailing edge
I don't see the difference to left and right aligned. so maybe it's correct and
was just forgotten in the commit message?

Just for short info:

I just controlled my user profile like indicated in the link you gave me.

I found no corruption because with the brand-new profile both lists freeze
again.

At least this option can be excluded. Then I'll do in a virtual box a fresh
install from the source indicated in the other link. And see what will happen
then.

Actually, this file was created with Gnumeric as gnm:max-denominator-digits
indicates.
LibO do not know how to treat if number:min-integer-digits="0"
This special case should be treated.

Hi Tom, the problem seem to be, that you group the objects and later on try to
connect to a part inside the group.
For your purpose it might be worth to learn how to write own custom-shapes. In
custom shapes you can define glue-points directly. Draw a "Isosceles Triangle"
and save the file to Flat ODF. Open it with an editor like Notepad++ and you
will see such glue-point definition.

I've just installed 5.2.0.0.alpha1. The bug is still present exactly as
described in the original post. Simply: draw an object, click on it and wait a
second or two, and try to drag it. There is NO object shadow at all; the object
is moved, but you can't position it precisely because of lack of object shadow.

No, it won't require additional settings, it's simplier:
1) You type text on some line, text has some attributes (size, isbold, isital,
color, font etc.)
2) I grab size, isbold, isital from current line
3) I insert OLE object and edit it, pasting, for example "bold size 35 {}"

Seems to be achievable, the only thing in whch I'm not sure is possibility to
place cursor in needed position.

Is placing user's cursor musthave possibility?

I also guess that this feature should be triggered in settings

What bugs me soo much about this product is that there isn't a single large
button in front of me I can click on, and completely and forever turn off any
predictive text, autocomplete, call it what you will. Better, the default
setting on predictive should be OFF, and you should have to click on the button
to turn predictive text on. I have been writing a long poem. I think it's
rather good. But I keep getting distracted in mid-flow by the computer deciding
that it can write better than I can. It is infuriating and intolerable! I
really really hate giving good money to MS and Bill Gates, but tomorrow I will
go out and buy an up to date version of MS Word to go with the Windows 10 on my
new computer, and I will be deleting LibreOffice from the hard drive, never to
return!

Not sure how it can be accomplished, but expect setting a font size per
document  for formula would need to end up asserted against each formula object
OLE recorded into the .ODT archive.

Yes, I can set default font and size in Math setttings. But I can set it for
formula or userprofile-wide. I cannot at least set it document-wide. What I
suggest is context-style formulas. I see only advantages.

If I create commit with such possibilities will it be rejected?

Hi cno,

once again, what I found out now, is that with the first list (originally an
xls from other person) I can sort text columns even with natural sort, but as
soon as I want to sort with the column "Artikelbezeichnung" calc freezes. I
tried to cut out the column and put it at the end, sorted again, freezing. I
copied the column into meld and diffuse but could not see anything suspicious.

Therefore I thought I take another list which I myself issued on my system
(which I attached "new list"). If I try to sort with column A, freezing.

So, I'm really at a loss.

As to the OpenGl I've attached my "menus" as they are shown to me (I've changed
to US-English interface) - but obviously my interface is structured different
from yours.

Do you have any slight idea where this odd behaviour could derive from?

I did another test: Printing the document (printer=FreePdf). When printing I
couldn't find an Option "Print automatically inserted blank pages". As a matter
of fact my document currently counts pages up to 235, but only 232 pages were
printed. Three blank pages were omitted. If I tried to send that print file to
a printer with the option "print on both sides of paper" I would end up with
even numbered pages sometimes printed on the front side (which is wrong for a
book) and sometimes on the backside (which is correct for a book). I can not
send such a file to a printer shop, I can not make a test print on my private
printer printing on both sides of the paper.

So:
I can successfully export to pdf using option "Export automatically inserted
blank pages".
I can not print using the printer feature "print on both sides of paper".

Printing is faulty, Exporting needs extra care to be correct.

Set your font size preference in a Math formula editor session, they'll carry
over as you call the OLE formula insertion.

Personally, I prefer to prepare my formulas external to a Writer session in
Math, and then insert each preformatted OLE formula as I need them in the
manuscript.

OK sure, you've removed the majority of the flowed text (still have an L1 and
an M annotation that don't show but have to be dealt with), what remains are
know LibreOffice issues with positioning of SVG 1.1 text that are being worked
on refining the svgio filter.

The only substantive new issue with your samples was handling the Flowed Text,
otherwise its a duplicate.

The LibreOffice devs will decide what to do with this enhancement request for
handling the filter import of Inkscape's Flowed Text--tackle it if feasible, or
ignore it.

In the Installationprocess you can chose the dictonary and workspace language.
In the bosnian installation process the language is called "bošnjački", but
later in the program at the status bar "bosanski".

Bošnjački is wrong and the language in the installation process should be
"bosanski".

File with the problem (see description)

I just encountered a curious problem : I have an existing file (attached).

LO Calc gets stuck (with the CPU getting over the roof to 100% according to a
'top' command in a terminal) if I try to insert a new sheet while I currently
am with the existing sheet 'Données horaires traitées' open.

But if I attempt to do the same thing with open sheet being 'INSTRUCTIONS', it
works fine.

I suppose it is connected that there is a lot of rows with calculations in the
sheet  'Données horaires traitées' and not in the sheet 'INSTRUCTIONS'.

When embedding fonts in a Writer document, the file gets incredibly large, way
beyond practical use.

A single 17K file with 1§ grows to 94MB

Steps to reproduce

1) Open a blank file, type some text, save it with name 
test-without-embeded-fonts.odt

2) Activate File - Properties - Fonts and mark Embed fonts in document

3) save file with name test-with-embeded-fonts.odt (you will notice the time it
takes to save the file)

4) with the file manager, compare the files 

Actual results: A file with dozens of megabytes

Expected results: a file with a few megabytes more.

When the recovery data wizard loads on Ubuntu 16.04 the window looks half
rendered. If you attempt to click any button other than the cross at the top of
the window it immediately logs you out of Ubuntu. 

I can only assume something is causing Xorg to crash, and has something to do
with the recent update of Ubuntu. This may be an issue with Xorg/Ubuntu rather
than LibreOffice, but I felt it was worth reporting anyway.

I had to reinstall LibreOffice and now I can no longer reproduce the problem.
But some combination of install events did cause this (as the screenshot
proves).

Just wnat to mention that the File menu showed a mix of English and Portuguese
entries (which is even more unexpected).

I'm closing as WORKSFORME because I can no longer reproduce or test.

Hi Cor.

The main problem is that the password is stored in clear text and the user
doesn't know this.

If this report is considered as a real bug (not a feature ;) ) I could consider
to split the report into 3 different issues.

Please, let me know the right steps :)
