[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99854] New: Copy contents from cells massively sets capitalized text

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99854

Bug ID: 99854
Summary: Copy contents from cells massively sets capitalized
text
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mzun...@mail.ru

Created attachment 125056
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125056=edit
Sample, if opened on Calc 5.1.1 or later, the column D goes uppercase

>From LibreOffice 5.1, if a "=" function is applied to copy contents from a
column in 100 or more cells at a time, the text goes to uppercase, no matter
what style it has.
LibreOffice 5.0.5rc2 and previous do not behave like this. To reproduce the
behaviour:
* Put content in a column. 100 or more cells.
* In a contiguous or non-congiguous column, use the = function referring to the
first column.
* Copy and paste the function to 100 or more cells.

The text will be uppercase.

The attached file is saved using Libreoffice Calc 4.4.5 and displays fine in
5.0.5rc2 and 4.4.5, but column D appears uppercase in 5.1+.

If you save this document in 5.1+ and open it again in a previous version it
will show the contents uppercase, then if you overwrite the function, it will
show the content of the cell (for example, =A1) instead of the result.

It seems not to be possible to assign a default style to a Impress/Draw table
cell. This would be very helpful to ensure consistent sheet layout.

It seems the Impress/Draw table implementation is only rudimentary. The real
enhancement seems to be to use the writer table implementation for Draw/Impress
too.

Assigning a style to a table cell does not work.

Steps to reproduce

- Create new drawing

- Select "Insert->Table"

- Select table cell (and optionally enter text)

- Press f11 to open style list

- Try to assign style to table cell -> nothing happens

This seems to be supposed to work because when opening a context menu for a
table cell, the last entry "Edit style..." is displayed (but - when selected -
nothing happens), so this got lost.

The same bug is the same in Draw...

Thanks!

Could be a dup. However, in my case there were 15 links to the same existing

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99850] New: [UI] The term Sheet >Go to Sheet is not a good one

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99850

Bug ID: 99850
Summary: [UI] The term Sheet >Go to Sheet is not a good one
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.3.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: ux-advise
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org
CC: libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org

In Calc, the term used in menu Sheet -> Go to Sheet is misleading.

It may serve to actually go to a given sheet listed in the dialog, but it is
not the right function.

Before, the term was "Edit > Sheet > Select". Now it is Sheet > Go to Sheet.

According to the Getting Started Guide, in the Calc chapter says:

Sharing content between sheets
You might want to enter the same information in the same cell on multiple
sheets, for example to set up standard listings for a group of individuals or
organizations. Instead of entering the list on each sheet individually, you can
enter the information in several sheets at the same time.
 1) Go to Edit > Sheet > Select on the Menu bar to open the Select Sheets
dialog.

 2) Select the individual sheets where you want the information to be repeated.
Use the Shift and Ctrl (Options on Mac) keys to select multiple sheets.
 3) Click OK to select the sheets and the sheet tabs will change color.
 4) Enter the information in the cells on the first sheet where you want it to
appear and it will be repeated in all the selected sheets.
Note
This technique automatically overwrites, without any warning, any information
that is already in the cells on the selected sheets. Make sure you deselect the
additional sheets when you are finished entering information that is going to
be repeated before continuing to enter data into your spreadsheet

Bug ID: 99847
Summary: "ENTER" from last page-row of a 3-column table ->
cursor halfway down next page
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: scott092...@aol.com

Created attachment 125052
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125052=edit
Document with bug - go to page 48, third column, and ENTER past end of page.

I have been working on a project to translate a (relatively small) book from
German into English.

Currently, I have created a document that has a three-column table.

The first column has the German text, OCR'd from .png files of scanned pages.
As I work, I copy the German text into a browser window that has Google
Translate loaded, and have it translate.
I then copy the translation into both the second and third columns for that
page.
I leave the second column of the page alone, and correct the translation in the
third column.
(The second column is used in case of accidental erasure, or I later decide
that some of Google's translation
was better than I originally thought, or ... )

When I finish with a page, I then press the ENTER key after the text in each of
the second and third columns
until the cursor is now at the top of that column on the next page, and repeat
the above procedure for the new page.

However, having finished page 47, I translated the text for page 48, and found
I had a problem.
I was able to ENTER down in the second column to the top of the next page, and
copy the translation there, but when I attempted to do the same with the third
column, I was unable to do so:

Repeatedly pressing ENTER in the third column first caused the text to
vertically adjust up and down a bit, which was unexpected;
but when I ENTER'd from the last row in the column, the cursor did not go to
the top of the next page, but to a position about halfway down the page, and
nothing I could do would make it go to the top of the page.

This is obviously a bug.

Since the next version of Lubuntu was coming up, with a new version of
LibreOffice, I decided to wait until I installed Lubuntu 16.04 before
continuing, hoping that the new version of LibreOffice would no longer have the
bug.
It did have the bug, however...

[I attempted to make a new document and copy everything to it, hoping to leave
the bug behind, but encountered another bug.
First, when I attempted to Select All, only one column of the table was
selected - (is this a bug or a Feature?).
Well... no problem, there are only three columns - I'll just do one at a
time...

Hmmm... I just tried it now, and it worked fine. Perhaps when I tried it, it
was the previous version, and the bug was fixed in the new version...
But when I tried it before, by the time I tried to copy to the third column,
the "Page xxx of yyy" display kept changing
the xxx/yyy up and down, never reaching the end, never finishing.]

I was only able to continue my work by making a copy of the work, and renaming
the two pieces to _1 and _2, and deleting
the end for _1, and the beginning for _2.

Anyway, the initial bug still remains, and as I am only about 1/3 through the
document, I strongly suspect I will encounter it again.

I enclose the document so that you can see what I am talking about, and make a
start at fixing the bug.
I also enclose two screenshots. One shows the page/column after I approach the
bottom of the page, repeatedly entering the letter "a" followed by ENTER.
The second screenshot shows the first "a" after reaching the new page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99846] New: UI glitches when editing formulas

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99846

Bug ID: 99846
Summary: UI glitches when editing formulas
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: p...@cs.princeton.edu

Created attachment 125051
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125051=edit
Video of bug occuring

When I edit formulas in Impress the GUI glitches. The pane on the left is
sometimes displayed over the formula editing box. It looks like there is
supposed to be some context specific pane on the left for editing formulas, but
I can't see it. The pane on the right also looks like it isn't being displayed
properly.tu 1

The attachment is a video demonstrating the UI bugs.

I am running Impress 5.1.2.2 on Ubuntu 16.04. I am using the proprietary nvidia
drivers Ubuntu allows you to install.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33304] Header / Footer should be inserted into margin, not into text body

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33304

(In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #25)
> What exactly do you mean? This confuses me, since as far as I know, Format >
> Page, tabs Page / Header / Footer let you set very specific dimensions.

If your document has to conform to given parameters (incl. margins), those
parameters will be given based on Word's behavior, because that's what is used
widely. If you're given, let's say, 2.5 cm margins to keep to, and you don't
have Word, you can't know the exact number you have to use in Writer. In the
image attached by Zsolt, 1st is Writer setting, 3rd is Word's setting, and 2nd
shows the missing information(/setting) in Writer.

This is also what Joel experienced in bug 99639. While technically there might
not have been a bug in the conversion, but a 2.5 cm margin in Writer and a 2.5
cm margin in Word resulted in ~0.75 pages of difference in 10 pages. And if you
have set limits to follow, that's a huge difference.

Do you reproduce this on a brand new file?
In any case, could you attach a file and give minimum (but precise) step by

Each module will have its own settings in the user profile. Try opening each
module, resizing and then exiting it once. On next launch it should retain
that size as set--unless you launch from the StartCenter.

Launching from StartCenter is still resetting the window size for the module.
And closing the last active document in any module resets the StartCenter size.

That is bug 75644--Better options to control LibO window resize of the Start
Screen and last used window size of each document module.

The items in the Load URL dropdown are the same as in the Recent Documents
list. There are no additional items there.

(In reply to inpost from comment #10)
> How did you clear the history in 'load url bar'?
File > Recent Documents > Clear should do the trick. But the list isn't updated
until you restart the app (or simply hide-show the toolbar). I think it's a
valid request to make the Load URL dropdown update immediately.

I want to have automatic movement to next slide after 10 seconds. This does not
appear to work. Also, I want all bullet points displayed on a slide but without
animations on them (i.e. no requirement to mouse click in order to display next
bullet point) when I'm using Slide Show (i.e. setting appropriate Slide Show
parameters). I don't want to do this by removing all the animations as I might
in future want to control the Slide Show manually (i.e. using mouse click to
bring up each bullet point).

I forgot to thank you for taking time to work on this nasty bug : I was really
pissed off when I discovered that Dictation would not work on my computer (and
on another laptop of mine), and I could not understand why you claimed it
worked for you. After I reopened the bug, since you answered me that everything
was fine for you, I decided I should give it another try... and Dictation
finally worked after I trashed the aforementioned files.

Maybe this workaround should be explained somewhere in the LibreOffice FAQ
(including how to access ~/Library files...)

Anyway, thank you for wishing me good luck with Apache OpenOffice ;-)

LibreOffice Writer
Version: 5.1.2.2 (x64)

Dear developers of LibreOffice Writer,

I use LibreOffice Version: 5.1.2.2 (x64) in the German edition. Generally I
like LibreOffice very much, since years.

In the current version I found a little bug in LibreOffice Writer. It is only
one small problem with the translation from English into German.

Let me try to give a short overview.
It relates to the designation of the pages:
first the indication of the current page number
and
secondly specifying the total pages of the document.

I could send You the details together with screen shots in a pdf file as
attachment. This attachment is created with LibreOffice Writer. The implemented
screen shots are created with MS Windows. But I am not sure whether there are
hidden personal data contained. I personally did not write personal data in the
pdf file. What do You think about the data security under these circumstances?
Please let me know.

Another way is possible. The problem is small and could be described in few
sentences.

Your answer is welcome.

Best regards
Berni

Re-opening this bug after having identified the real cause of the crashes: It
seems to be the package libreoffice-kde4. If it is NOT installed, I can finally
save PDFs and other documents. If it IS installed, LibreOffice crashes on
saving.

Unfortunately, I cannot further investigate this Issue without the necessary
debug packages installed. Please have a specific look at the libreoffice-kde4
package which causes the crashes and see if you can enhance it. Thank you.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62332] FORMATTING: enhancement: enable selection of various slide layouts in a master slide

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62332

--- Comment #2 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com ---
I would like to second this enhancement request.

Point 1 is extremely important IMHO.

If you need to set up a master with a background that is irregular and must not
get overlapped with the slide contents, this is almost indispensable.
Otherwise, too easily you end up with a master page that is OK only for the
default layout and that visually breaks whenever you move to another layout
(e.g. two columns).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93243] replace boost::bind with C++11 lambdas

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93243

Hi

I'm working on this bug and i got a question.

in the file
/home/unknowner21/libreoffice2/reportdesign/source/ui/inspection/GeometryHandler.cxx

I'm trying to change the line number 1639 :
  ::boost::bind( ::getName, _1 ));

but the problem is the function getName from DefaultFunction got no parameter
and we have the _1 that indicates the first parameter of this function if I'm
not mistaken.

can I have some clarification about that ?

thank you

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99838] New: EDITING: Converting text to curve doesn't convert characters not found in font.

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99838

Bug ID: 99838
Summary: EDITING: Converting text to curve doesn't convert
characters not found in font.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: she...@yahoo.com

Converting a text box to curve in Draw doesn't convert characters not found in
font.

Here's what I did:
1. Create a text box and type CTRL+U 2714 and some other text. (Using
Liberation Sans)
2. Click the text box and right click to display context menu.
3. Click convert-> to Curve
Notice that the checkbox wasn't converted to curves. It just vanishes.

It probably is because the font being used for the "check" is not the same font
used for the text.

Here's a sample video: https://youtu.be/t705f-nSWkk

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99809] Update documentation of BASIC's Rnd function and Randomize statement

2016-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99809

Created attachment 125044
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125044=edit
Schreenshot on current master after commit (missing code syntax highlighting,
wrong indentation)

I've just checked the result on 32-bit Debian Jessie, with:
Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: efc05c0a1ecac549c8340a8f9ec4e47556569adc
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 4.3; UI Render: default;
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@71-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2016-05-13_23:40:27
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

And there seem to be following issues:
- The syntax highlighting of BASIC code examples is missing on the updated
pages (Rnd and Randomize)

- The code example indentation is wrong throughout the BASIC help pages (just
two spaces, no sub-indentation for statements, etc.), i.e. also on those which
weren't updated

Does anyone know why that is?

P.S.: Some remarks:
- The pages were updated using the current "HelpAuthoring-3.1.4.oxt" extension
on LO 5.0.6, which automatically removed all and tags, in
case that matters.

- Before committing, I had checked the results with LO 5.0.6, as described in
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/HelpContent#Without_the_LibreOffice_Core_Repo,
and BASIC code examples on all help pages (i.e. also the ones not modified)
were missing the highlighting, so that I assumed that it's something to be
fixed by an actual LO build process.
