That define the area of a sheet of a spreadsheet to be printed. Please read the
doc.

Before reopening, did you try with the current stable and fresh versions ?

I was going fine with 5.0 in a parallel installation... now that it autoupdated
itself this bug has returned.

Is anyone actually paying attention to this? I don't meant to be rude and I
know no one is obligated to care... but this is a pretty frustrating bug.

I'm not sure what the print range has to do with it. I have never
heard of the term until now and have never explicitly set a print range
on any document I've created (to my knowledge). So I don't understand why
some documents get a "print range" which is the useful set of cells I've
edited, and some don't get one at all, and why the Export As PDF
error dialog has nothing to do with the print range. ISTM if nothing
else, a meaningful error dialog could be generated. It doesn't sound as
if the actual problem has to do with "The file could not be written."
based on what you're describing here.

Hola @Enrique,

Can you test disabling OpenGL:
Menu/Tools/LibreOffice/View - Use OpenGL for all rendering.

If it doesn't work, please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves
strange issues.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
Usually it's enough renaming/deleting the file
"user/registrymodifications.xcu", it affects all the options in
Menu/Tools/Options, and the files "user/basic/dialog.xlc" and "scrip.xlc" are
overwritten, additionally custom colors in "user/config/standard.soc" are lost.

This doesn't make sense.

While it's true that this is not a regression, it is certainly a bug, not an
enhancement. Having a feature that doesn't actually work in one of the most
important features of the application --slideshows-- it's just a broken
feature.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99883] [IMPORT] chart axis description is not imported properply

JoNi changed:

   What|Removed |Added

   Keywords|filter:ods |skillCpp
  Component|filters and storage |Chart

it's not a problem with import but with presentation

specific with presentation of multi line tick labels

the tick label in VDS90.ods, table "Auswertung", cell C36 is
"Organische Syndrome (Gedächtnis,
Konzentration)"

Excel displays this as "Organische Syndrome (Gedächtnis,..." in the chart.

While LO tries to squeeze both lines in the chart, fails and falls back to a
45° auto rotate mode. Then tries to display as many labels as possible in that
mode. Then fails again (different bug I guess, details PS) and fits only 4
labels on the y-axis.

proof:
* open VDS90.ods
* goto table "Auswertung", cell C36
* unprotect sheet (tools - [x]protect sheet...)
* remove the second line from that cell value
--> Chart displays correctly

PS:
This bug exposes an other weird behaviour. There should fit more labels on
y-axis in 45° rotation.
unprotect the sheet, select the y-axis, change text orientation to 1°
--> every second label is shown, including the one from C36
guess the overlapping check for tick labels is very basic.
The 45° auto rotate mode might be a good idea for x-axis tick labels but for
y-axis tick labels it actually fits less labels than plain 0°.

So either improve the overlapping check for y-axis tick labels or disable the
45° auto rotate mode for y-axis.

testfiles to see wrong rendering

Some MathML-elements require exactly one argument, but with the special rule,
that in case they have no argument, they are treated as if they have an empty
mrow element as content.

Such cases are rendered wrong for the elements: mphantom, msqrt, mstyle and
mtd.
The case mtd is severe, because empty table cells often occur, in case the
mtable element is used to arrange things.

I propose to import the empty case of inferred mrow as empty group {}.

The files xyz_missing.mml and xyz_exists.mml of the attached test files should
render the same.

Please make sure you use a current build from master, otherwise the files
mstyle_empty_mrow_missing.mml and msqrt_empty_mrow_missing.mml will crash.

As the first cell is the result of the merge of the first column, what you call
the first row and what is expected is not clear. Please, could you attach a
file with the result you expected. Setting status to NEEDINFO.

I do not understand where is the problem: the bugdoc does not have print range
defined but for Sheet10 which is empty. Removing this print range allows to
generate a pdf with a page for each sheet. If we keep the defined print range,
LO generates a pdf with only one empty page for Sheet10. For me it works as
expected.
Tested with master and LO 5.1.4.0.0+, both built at home under Ubuntu 16.04
x86-64.

Closing as worksforme. Please, feel free to reopen if you disagree

The previous update happened in reaction to bug 56130.
I can also see that there were several commits to Antón Méixome's github

Antón, can you give your opinion if Galician spellchecker should be updated in
LibreOffice, and to which version, current master or latest release from 2013?

Still current and reproducible.

Steps to reproduce:
1. LO not open
2. Double-click a Calc document, control-click Calc document and select Open
with LibreOffice, or open a Calc document from Spotlight.

Expected Behavior:
LO launches and displays document in window

Observed Behavior:
LO launches, but document window is not displayed until there is mouse movement
or a key pressed.

If LO is already open, the expected behavior IS observed. This bug only appears
when LO is not currently open.

Tested for Writer, Calc, Impress.
Tested with Ubuntu 16.04 Desktop with Hebrew keyboard layout and US keyboard
layout.

Scenario to reproduce:
1. Open a new document
2. Change keyboard layout to Hebrew
3. Select text using mouse
4. Cut the selection using keyboard shortcut CTRL-X

Expected result:
5. Selected text is removed

Actual result:
5. No change

Additional diagnostics.
The CTRL key is not functional when the Hebrew keyboard layout is in effect.
The CTRL key if fully functional when change to US keyboard layout.

The effected short cuts are the mostly used:
1. Copy - CTRL-C
2. Paste - CTRL-V
3. Select All - CTRL-A
4. Cut - CTRL-X
5. Find - CTRL-H
6. Find & Replace - CTRL-F
7. Undo - CTRL-Z
8. Redo - CTRL-Y
Actually all keyboard shortcuts involving CTRL

Workarounds:
1. Use mouse context menu selection(right click)
2. Select from Menu bar items
3. Use ALT-E shortcut keys to select from Menu bar items

Actual condition:
Libre Office NOT usable for extensive Hebrew editing (Writer/Impress). Since
most used keyboard shortcuts are not usable.
undo/redo/copy/paste/cut
Users are not willing to learn special keyboard shortcuts for Hebrew keyboard
layout.

Usually it's enough renaming/deleting the file
"user/registrymodifications.xcu", it affects all the options in
Menu/Tools/Options, and the files "user/basic/dialog.xlc" and "scrip.xlc" are
overwritten, additionally custom colors in "user/config/standard.soc" are lost.

Though I can recreate the exact same dictionary using the default options (just

Are there some traces about how the dictionary in lo-dicts was originally

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99326] Ability to disable GTK+ auto-accelerator

2016-05-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99326

If someone can confirm the above works in the latest builds of LO, I suggest
this issue should be marked as resolved - as far as I can see, the standard GTK
mechanism for enabling and disabling auto-hiding of accelerators is already
implemented and working.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99326] Ability to disable GTK+ auto-accelerator

2016-05-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99326

To give more detail, from
https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/GtkSettings.html :

"On the X window system, this sharing is realized by an XSettings manager that
is usually part of the desktop environment, along with utilities that let the
user change these settings. In the absence of an Xsettings manager, GTK+ reads
default values for settings from settings.ini files in /etc/gtk-3.0,
$XDG_CONFIG_DIRS/gtk-3.0 and $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/gtk-3.0. These files must be
valid key files (see GKeyFile), and have a section called Settings. Themes can
also provide default values for settings by installing a settings.ini file next
to their gtk.css file."

On my Raspberry Pi running LXDE, these are managed by the lxsession session
manager. If I go into its configuration file
(~/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/desktop.conf), there is a section labelled [GTK]
which includes the two parameters

iGtk/AutoMnemonics=1
iGtk/EnableMnemonics=1

If I change the first line to

iGtk/AutoMnemonics=0

and reboot, the accelerators are always shown in LO.

This is the correct way to enable / disable showing of accelerators - to change
the setting which GTK uses in the theme. If you are running a different session
manager, or indeed not running one at all, there will be alternative methods
for setting these variables. But I've checked the top of tree in the repo, and
the mechanics to turn this feature on and off were pulled from my patch and are
therefore already implemented in LO - there is no need for anything to be
changed.

I was trying to write CAD at the end of the line, and instead other stuff
popped up.

I wanted to start a new thought on a page, and so I hit enter... and BLAM,
there was not a new line, and a word that I may have typed earlier in
brainstorming showed up.

I am a fairly fast typist, so it is very alarming to have moved on a bit and
have everything be messed up.

It is very alarming, why is this happening?

What is wrong with my return/enter button?
Did it enter something instead of return to the next line?

Am I affected by a virus?
Why would random stuff be popping up on my screen.
I was told about these devices that plug into the computer and type commands,
but they look like a USB stick... I shall go smash a few of them to see if they
have been tampered with...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99326] Ability to disable GTK+ auto-accelerator

2016-05-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99326

Now I look at the code again, my original patch already implements reading and
setting auto-hiding behaviour according to the GTK theme in effect - the lines:

+g_object_get (gtks, "gtk-auto-mnemonics", , NULL);
+if (val) pSVData->maNWFData.mbAutoAccel = true;
+else pSVData->maNWFData.mbAutoAccel = false;
+g_object_get (gtks, "gtk-enable-mnemonics", , NULL);
+if (val) pSVData->maNWFData.mbEnableAccel = true;

in salnativewidgets-gtk.cxx do just this.

Have you actually tried setting the value of gtk-auto-mnemonics in your theme
to 0?

If you add the lines

gtk-enable-mnemonics = 1
gtk-auto-mnemonics = 0

to the start of your gtkrc file, accelerator underscores should be shown all
the time.

No, it wouldn't - that is a short-term bodge which does the wrong thing.

Novice users do not change this setting; theme authors do. All a novice user
does is to choose a theme. Theme authors do know where to find this setting,
and all applications which use GTK+2 properly obey it - the argument that
because some other applications are doing things incorrectly that it is
therefore ok for LO to also do things incorrectly is not really sound
reasoning.

Implementing code to read this value from the theme and thereupon to enable or
disable auto-hiding is a trivial change; it's probably easier than working out
how to conditionally build without any of the auto-hide code...

If I get time in the next few weeks I will look at adding the ability to read
this value from the theme and to use it to enable or disable auto-hide.

Incidentally - you mention above the ability to compile LO against gtk2 - is
that even possible? From what I could see when I was modifying the code, the
GTK theming implementation in VCL is purely to emulate GTK+3, not GTK+2. As
above, in *all* GTK+3 applications, accelerators are *always* autohidden - the
ability to toggle this behaviour is only relevant if you are trying to make VCL
look like a GTK+2 application which obeys a GTK+2 theme, and from what I could
see, LO doesn't do that at all.

Run the SQL-code to create DB, change the user and have a look at the table

A special problem with JDBC-connection an MariaDB/MySQL-DB.

Create a table in MySQL/MariaDB.
Set one datetime-field to DEFAULT NULL ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP.
This field won't be shown if opening the table with Base, if connected to the
DB with JDBC. Works right with direct connection.
This field won't be shown in a query also.

Added an example database and the SQL-code to create the database and table.
There must be changed the user to connect to the database.

This code will be executed:
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `table` (
  `ID` mediumint(7) NOT NULL,
  `Name` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL,
  `DateTime_Default` datetime DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
`DateTime_OnUpdateDefault` datetime DEFAULT NULL ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
  `Field5` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL
) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;

Five fields. Four fields will be shown, when opening the table in LO-Base for
input values. Five fields will be shown, when opening the table for editing the
structure of the table.

Yes ideally it shouldnt always be disabled, but with the current state of UX
issues that have arisen by following the condition in the gtk+2 theme file, it
would be best to disable it when building against gtk2.

Thanks for the information, though i dont know where to go to change this
setting and their isnt a GUI for changing this setting that the novice user
would know how to find. It is true that this is a setting in Gtk+2, but that
doesnt mean that we must follow it, as there are other gtk+2 apps that dont -
e.g. Firefox.

Ultimately with the ability enable and disable this option within LO, package
managers and users will be able to easily set this option.

I believe that I find a bug.
I use LibreOffice Version 5.1.3.2 for Window.
I create a table of content and a table of cues. The articles were correctly
enter into the table of content but in the table of cues the page number isn't
correct. The document have got e.g. 25 pages. That will exactly show in the
status row. The table of cues shows page number 26. That is wrong.
