[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100557] New: Hyperlink Input Dialog

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100557

Bug ID: 100557
   Summary: Hyperlink Input Dialog
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: berndbrin...@gmx.de

Error in Hyperlink Input Dialog

1) Mark Text in Document for insert Hyperlink
2) The Dialogform appear with the Text in "Textinput" Line
3) Change from "Internet" to "Document"
4) Now the Text in the "Textinput" Line is deleted.
This is the Bug.

By the Way:
- The Button "select Path" should be selectable by Key. May be the Button can
have an Character + Icon.
- The appearing Dialogbox for File selecting comes every Time in the same
Dimension and is the most Time to small. May be it can remember the last
Dimension the User set. Or it appears so big that all file are shown.

- The Dialogbox "Hyperlink" appears every Time with "Internet". May be it can
appear with the last Item the User set.

Thanks, with regards

Bernd Brinker

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100150] LibreOffice Font Selection Dropdown dysfunctional in Wayland

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100150

In a different bug report I was advised to try the following to isolate gtk3:
[djl@Antares ~]$ export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk
[djl@Antares ~]$ soffice
[djl@Antares ~]$

That test involved changing fonts.

Now running Version: 5.1.4.2 Build ID: 5.1.4.2-1.fc24. In Wayland With the
above setting font selection worked as expected. In Wayland using gtk3 the
font dropdown is still dysfunctional.

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100149

Applied updates to my system this morning. Now at Version: 5.1.4.2
Build ID: 5.1.4.2-1.fc24
Ran four tests of the font change scenario that caused the original crash and
LO didn't crash. Previously it crashed every time I closed the app. I was
also able to copy and paste the version info out of the About dialog and into
gedit. The problem is fixed so far as I can tell.

Thanks

Raal, could you check it again? The following fix that could be relevant was
introduced since then: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/25962/

Though Markus mentioned in the mailing list it also introduced some other
regression, not sure if that has been addressed, yet. Nevertheless, that should
only affect performance.

This is a bug related to the OpenCL Software Interpreter, and has already been
reported in bug 75387.
It occurs in either of these cases:

-you have both checkboxes ticked in Tools -> Options... -> LibreOffice ->
OpenCL, but don't have an OpenCL-capable device with drivers that support
OpenCL,

-you only have OpenCL Software Interpreter enabled in the aforementioned
dialog.

I'm closing this as duplicate, please follow the other bug report.

format. Showing in the "edit" box as 12/30/1899, looking at cell properties,
none are Protected or Hidden. I have talked with my bank they think that the
Excel file being generated is version MSO-2013 but have no knowledge of
backward compatibility version. I opened the file in Excel 2003 and all columns
have true representation of the data.

or with a simple pivot table as showed in the sample.

But I agree with Joel, not enough for a new function, I haven't seen asking for
it in forums. In fact lately only functions for compatibility reasons have been
added, and it is being a large effort.

Just as an alternative option if LO is still acting up after the previous
driver update. I'm not sure why the numbering is so much different
(15.40.25.4463 vs 20.9.15.4352), but this is 100% the latest graphics driver

No, I'm not a gamer. This laptop isn't particularly good at gaming. I haven't
changed the graphics card settings from their factory default.
Graphics driver details: Date 15.12.2015, Version 20.9.15.4352.

The laptop also crashed during actual printing. I've disabled OpenCL in
LibreOffice's setting, that helped.

Also the graphics driver accasionally crashed with the current firefox version
until I disabled graphics acceleration in fiefox's settings.

It seems this driver version really is not very good. Blacklisting it might be
a good idea.

P.S.: I just chose "update driver from the internet" in the driver properties
dialog and it is downloading a newer version right now. I'm curious whether
that version will be better...

In Ubuntu 16.04 Unity, setting the menu to be in the window's title bar has a
new configuration which allows "always show menu". This was configured by
default. Selecting "show menu after mouse hover" (not exact wording) makes the
system work as in Ubuntu 14.04.

Therefore, this is not a bug.

As a result of this discovery, I would like to change this ticket to an
"enhancement".

Would it be possible to add the current document filename to the "status bar"
on the bottom so that this menu configuration does not impact this aspect of
the UI?

Sorry for the too-quick bug report.

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94551

Created attachment 125847
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125847=edit
Preliminary solid fill tab

Rishabh managed to provide means to select the palette at the solid color tab
and shows the containing colors nicely. The question is what happens with the
interactions (add, modify, delete).

Option 1: We let users do whatever they want. Meaning the palette standard.soc
may end up empty.
Option 2: We allow to change not all (e.g. standard.soc) but a selection of
palettes.
Option 3: Changes go into a (newly to introduce) user.soc (or whatever this
extra palette is called)
Option 4: We disable the buttons in this tab
Option 5: We allow everything (like #1) but restore the factory settings per
"reset".

Option 5 is the most user-friendly way. It would work only when the content of
the soc files are stored as an additional ressource. But maintainability would
seriously diminished. Opinions?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100554] New: Print Margins are different/ wrong from what is set in Page Margins

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100554

Bug ID: 100554
Summary: Print Margins are different/wrong from what is set in
Page Margins
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lifesgra...@suddenlink.net

Created attachment 125846
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125846=edit
2 ODT doc's with printed PDF output, 2 screenshots

I chose "Other" for the hardware because this is an Intel CPU running 64-bit
Windows 7. The closest in the list is "x86-64 (AMD64)".

Given the long history of these problems with printing margins & other related
printing-and-margin problems that are still sitting in the bug list with the
status of "New" I decided to create a new bug with a screenshot included of my
search query of "summary:printing AND summary:margin" which produces a list of
12 bugs as is shown in the screenshot. Of course I would imagine some of these
are impertinent to this specific problem of the printing margins but these
search criteria find them so they're in the list.

I've been into software architecture and customer service for a long long time,
and for the life of me I cannot fathom how such basic fundamental functionality
such as correctly formatted output is not perfected by the version 1
incarnation of a program -- not to mention a suite of programs -- whose purpose
is to create documents that ultimately have the purpose of being printed, be it
on paper or to a PDF file. So instead of just giving my own bug report as an
addendum to one of these that already exist with some short little explanation,
I have attached a ZIP file with my source ODT files so you can see the page
margins are what they are, and PDF files to which these ODT files have been
printed by a PDF printer driver (as opposed to being exported to a PDF). I
have double-checked that these PDF files are exactly the same as what is
printed on paper.

In the spirit of helpfulness that will hopefully catch on, I have also included
a screenshot of my Task Manager window which shows the name of the processes
for LibreOffice that are still using the same name of StarOffice from which the
LibreOffice codebase is derived (I discovered these process names when
LibreOffice had frozen up and I had to terminate the process from Task
Manager). In the spirit of excellence and thoroughness, I would also suggest
that these process names be given a break from anything of the past and let
them be given a fresh and clean image by just being called its own name of
LibreOffice.

My reasoning behind including these files, especially the ODT files, is that
hopefully maybe somewhere in them will be found the reason why despite the
margins being set to what they are, the printed output has very different
margins. I really do hope all this will be helpful and I really do hope that
the LibreOffice programming team will find a fresh and new invigoration for
putting these problems very high on the priority list.

In this ZIP file are the following files:
1) The 2 screenshots, 1 of the bug list with "printing" and "margins" in the
Summary, showing how old these bugs are to hopefully give a renewed priority or
urgency to fixing these problems, and the other screenshot being of my Task
Manager window.

2) Document "Butt & Gluteus Minimus" document in ODT format and printed to a
PDF printer driver. This document is various exercises.

3) Document "Off-Balance Workout" in ODT format and printed to a PDF printer
driver. This document also has various exercises.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100529] Suggestion: New function finding the first or last occurrence of a value in a cell area. Like FIND.FIRST (A1:A10; "<4").

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100529

A simple example:
Using it for weather statistics to find the first occurrence of frost in
autumn.
In a spreadsheet A contains the date of the month starting from A1, B contains
the temperature measured the corresponding day.
My workaround in this example is:
Copy the dates from A to D.
In C1 write “= IF(B1<0;1;0)” and fill this down to the end of the month (row
31).
In A33 insert “VLOOKUP(1;C1:D31;2;0)”.

To get the last day with frost I have to sort a copy of my tables descending
(dates 31 to 1) before using the same procedure as mentioned above.

(Of course I have to do a bit more coding to avoid “#N/A” in A33 if no frost
the particular month).

Download simplified example from: http://www.stuestoel.no/temp/FIND.FIRST.ods

I know that the developers have plenty to do, but I hope someone will give this
suggestion a thought. It is no problem to write (simple) workarounds for many
of the functions already in use, so I do not think a function is unnecessary
only because it is possible to write workarounds. (For example the first
function in the function list: ABS(A1) can be written as IF(A1<0;A1*-1;A1)).
But if I am the only one in the world in need for such a function, it is of
course a good reason to close it.

Kolbjørn

>From the HIG [1]: "Prefer controls where the setting is one click away...",
"Consider introducing presets of properties comprising of the most relevant
settings."

So I would make it even simpler with no floating widget containing all border
settings but the most relevant three (none, outline, grid). And of course easy
access to the dialog.

Not sure this makes any sense. What "standard" colors would be used on this
persistent swatch list--you'll get just 12 swatches that folks then won't be
able to change.

Also, the there are already multiple .soc files, in addition to the default.soc
(including the standard.soc), each provides a different approach to layout of
color pallet layout, and each provides tool-tip names or color values as
appropriate to the pallet.

Just don't see this improving the UX.

LibreOffice Calc on Ubuntu Unity 16.04

When the window manager is configured to "Show the menus for a window in the
Window's Title Bar" (rather than "Show the menus for a window in the Menu
Bar"), it becomes impossible to know which document you are currently working
on as the current file name, which is normally in the window's title bar is
overwritten with the menu. In fact, one can see the filename momentarily
appear when starting the app before being immediately overwritten with the
menu.

In my particular case, Ubuntu (Unity) 16.04, the window manager configuration
setting that causes this behavior can be found at System Settings -> Appearance
-> Behavior tab.

The only work around (I believe) is to select File - Save As, and see what
default filename is suggested.

If one is working on two versions of the same document, this becomes quite
problematic and time-consuming.

OK, also seems reasonable. But same question as in bug 100548 about "loss" of
the existing preset border selections while making them larger.

I think it would be reasonable moving it this direction, but not sure if we
could even use the multi-line picker of mockup (D) in the toolbar .UI GTK
button box -- Samuel, Tomaž?

Otherwise we should attempt to make the layout of the Cell border settings on
each of the--Toolbar, the Format Cell dialog, the Sidebar Properties deck Cell
Appearance panel--consistent.

Dialogs have fixed sizes when the resizing of the dialog wouldnt expose any
more useful information, which is the same idea behind not having the sidebar
resizable. We have resizable dialogs like for hyperlink (url can be very long)
and open remote file (file names can be very long). This dialog doesnt need to
be resizable, but as it was so wide, a user would assume it could be shrunk
down, which was what i getting at. :D

OK, seems reasonable. Makes better use of blank area of the dialog making
elemnts a bit larger (i.e. readable) but does lose two predefined border
settings.

Current default preset arrangements:
1. Set No Borders
2. Set All Four Borders
3. Set Left and Right Borders Only
4. Set Top and Bottom Borders Only
5. Set Diagonal Lines Only

Proposed
1. Set No Borders (same as existing)
2. Only an Outline border (assume would apply to whole selection?, so not the
same as 2).
3. Set All Borders (Top, Bottom, Left, Right -- apply to whole selection. So
would be the same as 2).

So a considerable change in the preset functions. And, is the UX going to be
adversely affected losing the 3 presets.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100552] Simple Subtraction error (for example 3, 46-3, 39)

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100552

That's because of 2 things:

1) Format code in 'format cells' is set as '0.' instead of
general.
2) Options > LO Calc > Calculate > Limit decimals. is unchecked. Set to '2'
and the formula works again.

So not a bug.

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 100552
Summary: Simple Subtraction error (for example 3,46-3,39)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jiri.liska...@adoz.cz

Created attachment 125842
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125842=edit
Bug of calc in subtraction, 3 examples. The first two are bad, third is ok.

Hello, I found this simple but crucial mistake.
When I for example deduct 3,46 and 3,39, I get 0,0698 instead of
0,7. I multiply result by 100, I get 6,98 instead of 7.

The same mistake is with numbers 4,47 and 4,44. When I use 4,47 and 4,43 the
result is ok.

I can find many others examples.

Please find in attachment file, when you can see this mistake.

How this simple mistake can be there?

Not sure about exact repro steps here. OP talks about opening from CLI. But
this seems to be no requirement to trigger the crash.

Force quitting LO results in attached crash log.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100550] New: Adding standard colours to “Font Colour” and “Background Colour” menus

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100550

Bug ID: 100550
Summary: Adding standard colours to “Font Colour” and
“Background Colour” menus
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice

Colour Palette

P.S. My English is not excellent, sorry for that. Attached picture can explain
my suggestion better.

When I working on LibreOffice, I have difficulties in determining standard
colours while changing font colour or background colour. I want to make a text
red but which red? Wanna make yellow but which yellow? That’s why I need a
standard colour palette. So, I think that it is going to be so helpful doing an
arrangement such as attached picture. My proposal does not have different
dimensions from current state for menus. Current menu is large enough, already.
So, I just shifted location of “Custom Colour” button.

In theory any value should be enter in E7, and the result in H79(not B79) must
be the content of B74*0,14. After some other test I discovered that some times
the value in H79 remain correct(equal to 0,14*B74) even after i change the
value in E7 for the first time, but if i change the value in E7 again the value
in H79 become incorrect. I noticed that some times the value don't change at
all when i change the value in E7. I attached a screenshot of the incorrect
value. In the screenshot B74=3713 so H79 should be equal to 519.82, but the
result in the sheet is 46,725. For obtain that number I had changed the value
of E7 to 55 and the value of H79 changed correctly to 46,725(0,14*334) then
I changed E7 to 56 and the value of H79 remain 46,725. I think the problem
is that the cell don't update correctly when the value of another cell is
changed.

Image-1

P.S. My English is not excellent, sorry for that. Attached images can explain
my suggestion better. In a nutshell, between the attached images, I’d prefer to
use (C) or (D), rather than use (A) or (B).

At the Image-1, buttons in the menu which I marked with (A) are too small and
useless. Also there are some mismatches between (A) and (B) menus.

1. Square shaped buttons located in menu (A), are 2 px smaller than the buttons
in menu (B).

2. The view of the icons is different. Icons located in menu (A) have border
around them. But icons in menu (B) don’t have border around them. Icons have a
clearer view without border.

3. Placement the icons is different, too.

4. There are different border options. For example, there are diagonal borders
in menu (B), but there aren't in menu (A).

Because of all these reasons, I suggest to readjust the menus with same form at
Image-2 for being compatible with one another and presenting a useful content.
Option (D) of Image-2 is connected with the result of ID: 100548 bug record. If
number 100548 bug record is accepted, all border options can be done compatible
with eachother by using option (D).

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Formt Cells - Borders

P.S. My English is not excellent, sorry for that. Attached picture can explain
my suggestion better.

Buttons which are marked with (A) in the attached picture and where under the
“Borders” tab in the “Format Cells” window in Calc, are very small and they
cannot be understood easily. These buttons have 19x19 px size. Same buttons
have 42x37 px size at Microsoft Office Excel. Also there is enough space on
this window, so, line styles which are marked with (B) in the attached picture,
can be shown in an open mod, not have to be opened by clicking.

As a consequence, I recommend to reorganizing of “Borders” tab as in the
picture.

Of course, if this suggestion will be confirmed, a similar study must be done
with other LibreOffice programs’ table editing windows, too.

(By the way, there are various issues with “Line Style” options in “Borders”
tab, associated with it, I have opened another bug record, see ID: 100518 )

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100515] mailmerge - page number incorrect after merged

2016-06-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100515

Since you didn't attach examples I can't be sure, but merging an "odd pages"
document produces empty hidden pages between merged documents for correct
duplex printing.

For 7 records and a single page, you get 7 pages + 6 hidden empty duplex pages
=> 13 pages.

For your 658 records example I would expect a 1315 pages output, but without
example data, I don't see a way to verify the bug.

And please specify the earliest version you encountered the bug.

If it's no bug, please close the report.

Have you seen in the import screenshot there is English UK as language (my
language is Spanish), it is to have dot as decimal separator for the imported
file, you can set up also, with French as language, clicking on the head of
percent column and selecting in Column type US English.
