Enable Harfbuzz common layout and launch LibreOffice with

cd to $ORIGIN\program folder

set SAL_USE_COMMON_LAYOUT=1

All text now fully rendered with OpenGL or default GPU, or just CPU based
rendering.

Some jaggies & lack of AntiAlaising, but fonts render well otherwise. Fall back
issues seem more sane.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103402] New: LO Find & Replace panels go berserk

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103402

Bug ID: 103402
Summary: LO Find & Replace panels go berserk
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@zeta.org.au

On three occasions now over the last few days, I've had LO's Find and Replace
panels "go berserk".

On each occasion I had 4 documents open: 3 in which I was making changes, with
the F panel open to find the right part of the (matching) documents.

The documents are long - about 135k words - so a Save takes about 10 seconds.

The 4th document was a file in which I was recording the changes I was making.

So, what happens is that I finish making each change in all three documents,
then click quickly in each and type Ctrl-S to kick off the save. Then click
back over to the 4th, changelist file, clicking to the end of the document and
begin typing the change note (sight unseen, as LO is basically too busy to
display what I'm doing). As soon as the 3rd Save completes, focus begins
flashing between the F panel of each of the 3 docs as fast as it can: LO
basically locks up while doing this. I tried clicking very fast and frequently
on the X (close) icon of one of these flashing F panels, for about 30 seconds
(maybe 150 mouse clicks?), without effect. I then started doing the sane thing
to try to close one of the 3 docs I'd just edited. After about 10 seconds
(maybe 50 clicks?), the document closed, and the F panel flashing stopped.

Just thought I'd report it. At least it's a consequence of tying up the UI in
Saves, so I don't lose anything when I succeed in closing a doc.

Oh, I should also add that the completion of a Save seems to unexpectedly
change focus, too. My least favourite behaviour of LO is that if you have
scrolled to a new place in a document (which may have taken you minutes to find
the location, and position the page appropriately) *without* clicking into the
text in the visible portion of the window to set the cursor there, then if you
do a Save, or if an auto-save kicks in, LO reverts the focus back to the
current insertion point, wiping out all your careful positioning work.

I mention that in this bug report because I believe it might be a contributing
factor in the weird cycling of focus. I think this because on the 2nd
occasion, only the first letter of the text (which I had typed ahead during the
Save operations) went into the target document that I had clicked into (the
changelist file): the remaining 20 characters appeared in one of the three
files I had been making the changes in, since it seemed to have stolen focus
when the Saves finished (and after I had managed to close one of the flashing
F windows).

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 with Classic mode, Compiz. I have what I think is a
very normal window policy configured: "click to focus".

Thought about closing WFM, but to new for UX discussion related to bug 99525.

In Draw you can size the page larger than final desired print size, set margin
to zero. You can layout trim marks, and registration marks on a Master page
from main menu's View -> Master mode. Also trivial to allow for bleed and
compose slugs outside the trim marks.

You have full control to configure the page, margin and spacing to object while
laying out the document.

Actual CMYK would not be controlled from within LibreOffice--rather use a
"print to file" format supporting CMYK. Or a print driver capable of splitting
out the CMYK.

It is not as convenient as some dedicated DTP programs, and there is no ability
to easily toggle printer markup. But kind of believe that doing more than that
is going to be beyond scope of project.

Created attachment 128143
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=128143=edit
Obfuscated .odt files produced from the MS files, that reproduce what I have
described above

I have a novel; I decided to make sure every mention of the thing called "it"
in italics, should be called "It" in italics (upper-case "I"). I have 3
versions of the MS: one for the 4"x7" print edition, one for the 5"x8" edition,
and one for the Kindle edition.

I opened all three files.

I performed the Fine & Replace on the 4x7 file with no problem: I selected
Whole Words only, typed in "it" (no quotes) in the search field, "It" in the
replacement field, clicked on Format and left the font unselected but chose
style Italic. I carefully made about 15 replacements (about 4 possible
replacements would have been wrong in the context). F worked as expected,
finding only "it" in italic as a whole word.

I then moved to the 5x8 edition MS. In the dialogue, most F fields were
already set from editing the 4x7 file; but I had to type "It" into the
replacement field. I then started searching. But now, F did not work
correctly: it would only find regular-format "it" words. I watched on one
page, where "it" was in italic, and another "it" appeared a little below. It
would only find the 2nd, not the first. but after that, it would only find
regular-format "it", and refused to find italic-format "it". I notice that
under the Search field, the words "Italic, normal," appear, for the file where
F is finding the wrong-format text. In the file where it is working, the
text is displayed without a trailing comma: "Italic, normal".

In the Kindle edition (see file WT-CS-KDP.odt), it found a few italic "it"s,
then started finding only regular "it"s. F seems completely unreliable: I
just tried it, and it found in succession about a dozen italic "it"s, bypassing
regular-"it"s as it should, then started finding regular-"it"s and ignoring
italic "it"s. Basically at random. The function simply isn't working reliably.

I cannot supply you with the original source documents, however, as Amazon's
T would not permit me to do that. So I have obfuscated the files, but leaving
the letters "i" and "t" and untouched, and saved those files and attached them;
they do evidence the bug, for me.

This bug may relate to 95633, 99038, 31491, or 95927, but none of them really
sound the same as this, to me.

LO is becoming increasingly frustrating to me, as an author. This is the 3rd
bug which is preventing me from making a specific edit to my LO MS to correct
an edition. In this case, at least I have a workaround: I can Undo each change
in the file for which F worked, carefully note where that was, find the same
place in the other editions, and manually make the correction. For the others
(103078 and 62603), they're show stoppers. It's very disheartening.

[Later...]
Having just done the manual fix-ups, I'll also note that Undoing to find them
all worked well (there were actually 13 occurrences). But that there is also a
bug in Redo, as after each redo, the text was converted from italic to regular.
Fortunately, I saved a copy of the file before I started Undoing, so this is
not a major calamity.

That's one way to solve it, but I've also seen those fancy transitions working
perfectly on my computer (Win7). It seems when some patch is made to fix a bug
for another OS, things go down on this one: either some custom animation
effects don't work properly (like popping in when "Fly In" is chosen), or
crashing.

Btw, I recall now that 5.0.6 was ok for me.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90518] EDITING: Cannot delete tables

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90518

Reproducible with Libreoffice 4.3.0 alpha 1
Windows 10 64 bit

Just a couple of weird related notes. When you attempt to delete the table it
does delete all the text inside the table. But the table itself is still
there.

At this point if you go to the Edit menu it will incorrectly have an option
"Undo delete table". If you select this it will restore the text in the table.

Work around: Insert a rectangle. Shift-click the rectangle and the table to
select both of them. Hit the delete key. Both are deleted. No idea why this
works, but just deleting the table doesn't.

Weird #2

Select the whole table. Control-C to copy it to the clip board. Create a new
slide. Control-v will paste in the new table.

But...if you press control-X to your new table what happens? The table is not
deleted. Sometimes the table vanishes from the mini-preview of the slide on
the left! Even though it's still actually on the slide (?) At this point if
you go to the Edit menu at the top you may see "Undo insert object" -- note
that it says object and not table. If you select this it may delete the table.
This part is not consistent. If I insert a new slide and paste again it might
happen.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103399] New: Editing: ALT+CTRL+ behaves as ALT+ in Writer

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103399

Bug ID: 103399
Summary: Editing: ALT+CTRL+ behaves as ALT+ in Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: frankcbel...@gmail.com

Description:
ALT+t opens the Tool Menu in all LibreOffice applications, and ALT+a opens the
Table Menu in Writer. In recent updates, however, you get the same result if
you use ALT+CTRL+a in Writer (Calc, Impress, Draw, Base and Math are not
affected).

This is a problem, because ALT+CTRL+a, SHIFT+ALT+CTRL+a, ALT+CTRL+o, etc. used
to be available to facilitate customized input using the Keyboard Layout
Manager program.

ALT+u is not used as a menu shortcut, still ALT+CTRL+u input is disabled.
Right Alt (AltGr) works as before.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a Writer file.
2. ALT+a (Writer correctly opens the Table menu) click on the file to close the
menu
3. ALT+CTRL+a (Writer behaves as if the input were ALT+a)
4. SHIFT+ALT+CTRL+a (Writer behaves as if the input were ALT+a)

Actual Results:
Menu shortcuts use up three different input combinations.

Expected Results:
Menu shortcuts should be limited to the ALT+ format.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Microsoft Word (but not PowerPoint or Excel) always had this problem and
LibreOffice Writer used to have a great advantage.

on how they expect a file to arrive (if you don't want to pay extra).
They have typically expected CMYK, bleed on full page graphics or color, and
trim marks to show where to cut.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new document in Writer / Draw (example: Business Cards) and create
document desired.
2. Export document, run through process to make CMYK, realize that you don't
have a bleed for the background OR crop marks.

Actual Results:
No option for crop marks / bleed

Expected Results:
I expect to see an option for exporting for professional printers by
home/business users

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103077] Can't connect to an existing Mariadb data base with ODBC ( unixODBC or iODBC) using Mariadb ODBC connector

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon

A couple of answers to your comments:

(In reply to Lionel Elie Mamane from comment #20)
> I wouldn't be too surprised if the MariaDB libmaodbc didn't implement

It's in odbc_3_api.c:

SQLRETURN SQL_API SQLGetInfo(SQLHDBC ConnectionHandle,
SQLUSMALLINT InfoType,
SQLPOINTER InfoValuePtr,
SQLSMALLINT BufferLength,
SQLSMALLINT *StringLengthPtr)
{
  MADB_Dbc *Dbc= (MADB_Dbc *)ConnectionHandle;
  SQLRETURN ret;
  if (!Dbc)
return SQL_INVALID_HANDLE;
  MADB_CLEAR_ERROR(>Error);

  MDBUG_C_ENTER(Dbc, "SQLGetInfo");
  MDBUG_C_DUMP(Dbc, InfoType, d);
  ret= Dbc->Methods->GetInfo(Dbc, InfoType, InfoValuePtr, BufferLength,
StringLengthPtr, FALSE);

  MDBUG_C_RETURN(Dbc, ret, >Error);
}

> The "Driver" and "Setup" entries are inconsistent: you use driver from

Good point. I found that MariaDB doesn't offer a ODBC setup driver.

I apologize for neglecting to mention that LO Base is also crashing when trying
to connect with MDBTools ODBC driver. I didn't focus on this because I thought
it might just make things too complicated and perhaps we should just deal with
one crash at a time. Note that MDBTools uses the exact same library (one
library) as both the driver and setup library.

Later today I hope to take an ODBC call trace of the similar MDBTools crash,
and compare it with the MariaDB ODBC call trace crash.

Anyway this setup library you mention appears to only be used by the unixODBC
tools to setup/configure odbc.ini and odbcinst.ini. (But I'm not 100% sure.)
In other words, if it's missing I can't use those tools, (the gui ODBC
configuration tools, or odbcinst). But that notwithstanding isql works when
the setup library is missing.

I wasn't sure what to do when I found the setup library missing but decided a
reasonable idea was to use the mysql one, and it worked. So I'm not 100% sure,
but I think the setup libaray only helps setup the configuration parameters in
these two confiburation files (/etc/odbc.ini and /etc/odbcinst.ini). I think
that would also make sense because ALL of the setup libraries (except for
MDTTools) are named something like: xS.lo. (With a "S").

I will work on this. Sorry I am slow in responding. I am new to Linux and
having to learn much to proceed little. Thanks for your help!

The issue is totally reproducible in GNU/Linux.

# System Information

1 - Open a new document (Writer, Calc, ...)
2 - Copy something from anywhere but LO.
3 - Paste the clipboard content into the document.

4 - Write something into the document.
5 - Copy the new document and paste it anywhere into the document.
6 - Repeat 2 and 3.

# Resume

Is not a Windows-only bug and the problem is related to the clipboard
management by LO. The latest version are still affected and the bug has been
with us for more than 3 years... something I think is really worrying.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103347] 'Start slideshow from currend slide' not working as expected

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103347

The way libreoffice handles duplicate slide *names* has bugs.

In attachment 128104 all the slides are named something like "Linearis
optimaizalas".

You can confirm this by right-clicking on any slide in the slide sorter on the
left and select "rename slide".

I think under the hood it is really starting the slideshow from the first slide
with the same *slide name* as the currently selected slide name. i.e. it's not
saying "start on slide 4" it's saying start on slide "Linearis optimaizalas".
Since all the slides have the same name, the first slide that matches that name
is always slide #1.

I notice that newer versions of libreoffice prevent you from renaming a slide
to the same name as an existing slide. It greys out the save button with no
explanation to the user as to why you can't choose that name.

Interestingly if I duplicate a slide (e.g. the 6th slide) it will give it a
name "Slide 7". Fine...but if I try to rename one of the "Linearis
optimaizalas" slides as "Slide 8" (even though there is no slide with this
name) it prevents it as well. But...if I duplicate the "Side 7" slide...guess
what, it creates the new slide name as "Slide 8".

I am getting deja vu of past crashes. Often after duplicating a slide, doing
basic edits, and then saving. Maybe a clever dev can check if this
mis-handling of duplicate slide names has problems elsewhere in the code.

Yup. Look at what Excel does. It's a data entry form, used to enter and update
data. I don't really use it much, but it's a nice convenience, especially when
entering a lot of data. So for it to lose data is not nice.

Actually, I'm not sure, but I think Excel may have the same bug with respect to
"new", but I'm pretty certain "next" and "previous" don't lose data.

That is a missing implementation.

ODF would allow a structure with child with child

Currently LO has only implemented a few of them, e.g. and .

There exists ODF issue https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-2126, but I
do not support it.

>From my point of view, the solution is, to support at least

Seems to work with 5.2.2.

But what on earth happened to the Python interpreter? How am I supposed to run
UNO code on the Mac?!?!?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103077] Can't connect to an existing Mariadb data base with ODBC ( unixODBC or iODBC) using Mariadb ODBC connector

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103077

Today I discovered that I could get a trace of the ODBC calls as they were
occurring leading up to this crash. From this I think Base might be crashing
inside LO BASE, and not inside of the ODBC manager nor inside the ODBC driver.

To trace: In the unixODBC gui turn on Tracing from the driver manager, or add
the following lines to odbcinit.ini:

[ODBC]
Trace=1
ForceTrace=1
TraceFile=/tmp/Trace.txt
TraceLibrary=libodbctrac.so

>From my trace just now (which I will attach) it appears the crash is happening
after ODBC call originating in LGetInfo.c line # 554. Here is the very last
entry from the trace showing that the ODBC call completed successfully:

-
[ODBC][3715][1477058411.956470][SQLGetInfo.c][554]
Entry:
Connection = 0x3808a20
Info Type = SQL_FILE_USAGE (84)
Info Value = 0x7ffc36990c4e
Buffer Length = 2
StrLen = 0x7ffc36990c06

[ODBC][3715][1477058411.956513][SQLGetInfo.c][617]
Exit:[SQL_SUCCESS]
--

(Sorry if I've been quiet for awhile. I've been working on trying to follow
your leads as quickly as I could, but I'm slow because I have to do a lot of
extra reading because of how new to Linux I am, e.g. I had to read a bunch
about shared libraries, and learn about cmake and how to use it (especially
when it fails), and also freshen my rusty knowledge of c, and scant knowledge
of ODBC.

I figured out how to get the ODBC connector code, and have been going through
it to try and understand it.

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99763

I can confirm this problem! I experienced various Libreoffice Draw crashes
while working on network infrastructure diagrams.

It was extremely annoying when I was using VRT network shapes inside the
document, then it crashed every 10-30 minutes.

Doing normal cabling plans (just with rectangles and connectors) didn't crashed
draw, but as soon as I was inserting VRT shapes everything got very unstable.

Most of the time even the autosave function didn't saved my work (so I was
constantly pressing ctrl+s for the save shortcut.

IMO this is a major drawback and critical bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78703] SLIDESHOW: fading slide transitions start with a white 'flash'

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78703

Same symptoms in 5.3.0 alpha 1. On windows 10 64bit and Lubuntu 16.04 64 bit.

The very last step of the fade-in for a split second shows what's underneath.
Seems like a weird Z-layering/transparency issue.

E.g. transitioning from Slide A to Slide B with fade smoothly looks like:
A + B @ 0% transparency
A + B @ 10% transparency
A + B @ 20% transparency
A + B @ 30% transparency
A + B @ 40% transparency
A + B @ 50% transparency
A + B @ 60% transparency
A + B @ 70% transparency
A + B @ 80% transparency
A + B @ 90% transparency
A + B @ 0% transparency <-- zero percent transparency ??
B @ 100% transparency

For a split second B disappears so you get a "Flash" of the previous slide
below it.

I think these bugs slide/animation transition problems are all the same:

slide flash
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73273

slide transition
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95479

Animation problem:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47341

There are many other duplicates of this bug. I really hope this can get some
attention.

Resource usage in LO is still a problem and I think it should be taken as an
important task.

I promote the usage of LO for all document generation in the enterprise I work,
but performance is a recurrent problem.

By implementing a serious multithreading system into LO and a better resource
usage policy the LO reception in corporation environment would be better IMHO.

I'm not sure this is a regression. The relevant option is Tools -> Options ->
Load/Save -> Microsoft Office -> WinWord to Writer or reverse.

In case that's enabled (and that's the default), we load the embedded docx, and
underlying SwViewShell::PrtOle2() call updates the preview of the document,
that takes a lot of time. This is something to fix, but it was like this
forever.

This is now more visible as the option is now respected in the DOCX import
filter, but the root cause is not new at all.

@Stuart: The show formula uno command (.uno:ToggleFormula) has been assigned[1]
to "QUOTELEFT_MOD1" since the OOo days, but i recently added it to the view
menu in master.

I noticed the shortcut a few days ago when i was in the menu and found it was
strange as well to say 'grave'. :D

So i'm assuming we should show the character rather than naming it, like we do
with command and semi colon.

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95479

This bug is still present in 5.3.0 alpha 1.

Windows 10 64bit and Lubuntu 16.0.4 64bit.

Say we are transitioning from slide A to slide B using Fade transition with
through-black option not checked.

It's like this happens:
Slide A
Slide A with Slide B at 90% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 80% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 70% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 60% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 50% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 40% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 30% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 20% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 10% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 0% transparency
Slide A with Slide B at 100% transparency <<< ???
Slide B

For a split second you see the previous slide at the end of the transition. It
is repeatable, but not always observable. I will notice it about 70% of the
time or more.

It really looks horrible. :(

Let's talk about randomness:

You mention a seed, but are you sure that LO is using a (pseudo)random number
generator? Maybe it's just iterating through AA, AAB, etc? In any case,
we'll want to make sure that the resulting PDFs conform to the spec. Please
provide link(s).

Could confirm the buggy behavior. It's like
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70425 , but there seems to
be also a problem with dates. "SetString" must be wrong for Integer and for
Date.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67145] CRASH: ODBC - Firebird: Attempting to edit table definition causes abort

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67145

--- Comment #29 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
Have tried this one again with version 2.0.4.155 64bit from Firebird ODBC. It's
a little bit tricky to get it work with LO, but the buggy behavior is the same.

I could create a table through Tools → SQL.
I could input all data through Tools → SQL.

Try this with Firebird - ODBC:
CREATE TABLE "Test" ("ID" INT PRIMARY KEY, "Text" VARCHAR(50));
INSERT INTO "Test" ("ID","Text") VALUES (1,'Nobody');

If I try to create a table through GUI, LO crashes immediately.

If I try to input new values, any value for "ID" seems to be wrong. There seems
to be inserted NULL instead of an Integer. I could only use Tools → SQL for
input new values for "ID". But this is another bug.

I have tested with LO 5.2.2.2 and OpenSUSE 42.1 64bit rpm Linux, and also with

Very clear - sorry that I messed up the summary with another bug in this area.
Corrected that.
The dialog example is clear and quite easy. The harder part of course is all
needed code..

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103393

Bug ID: 103393
Summary: Modifying Table Styles Crashes LO
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libreoffice...@tasit.net

Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1 (x64)
Build ID: f4ca1573fcf445164c068c1046ab5d084e1b005f
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-AU (en_AU); Calc: group

With the new "Table Styles" sidebar, any attempt to modify a table style
crashes LO.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Insert a table (any size) into a Writer page.
2. In the "Styles & Formatting" sidebar select the new "Table Styles" tab.
3. Apply any of the available styles to the table.
4. Right click on the applied style and select "Modify" from the context menu.
5. LO will crash with: LibreOfficeDev 5.3 - Fatal Error

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103388] UI: "View > Show Formula" shows the shortcut as "Ctrl+grave"

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103388

A few comments:
(1) Use of the "grave" key might not be the best choice for this shortcut as
this key apparently is referred to by different names. Reference this
discussion: https://askubuntu.com/questions/114578/what-is-the-grave-button. I
have in the past heard this key referred to as the back-tick key.

(2) It is inconsistent for the menu to show, in this particular case, the name
of the key instead of the key symbol. "grave" instead of "`".

(3) Another apparent inconsistency is that for some reason the use of this
shortcut was not defined at Tools > Customize > Keyboard tab.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86752] Prevent the text language from being impacted by the keyboard settings

2016-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86752

Yes it's still doing it. I currently have the German hardware keyboard,
Scottish Gaelic (GLA) and British English installed as keyboard layouts in
Windows.

Under GLA, it mostly seems to behave i.e. I have been able to mark a selection
as Gaelic, German or French and LO stick with that.

When I switch to the EN-UK layout in Windows, no matter what I set the language
of the selected to, if I type another word then LO forces the language of the
section to English.

On Windows builds, the shortcut on the menu entry is just Ctrl, and does toggle
the formula <> calculation.

But the expected shortcut +` toggles the view of the cell. (On en-US 102
keyboard that is combined with the ~ key upper left)

Customize keyboard for Calc or LibreOffice shows no keys assigned to the View
-> Show Formula action.

Hmm...
