See also Bug No. 102503.

I have the same problem with Version 5.2.2.2.0+ from the Jessie Backports under
Debian 8.6.
Impress hangs ALWAYS. For example, when I open a new document and am going to
save it, Impress freezes. Hence, there are no specific characteristics of the
document to be saved. This bug can be reproduced and makes Impress completely
useless for me.
I did not have problems with former versions and changed back to Version
4.3.3-2 from Jessie stable.

Yes, I can reproduce that with LO 5.3 and Excel 97.

It is interesting that Excel herself can copy long texts within a workbook, but
not between its instances.

I can see the full text in Biff8 Clipboard data, but they are not recognized
either by LO or Excel.

I anonymized data and table/column names. Furthermore anonymized labels, field
names, etc in the LO Base application as needed. This forced me to delete the
existing queries as it was too time consuming to manually update all field and
table names, and create new ones. Now I am waiting for the issue to reproduce
in the anonymized Base app. I will post the database and Base file when
reproduction has occurred.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103422] New: Menu bar: options names have no separation. Sometimes one is over the other

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103422

Bug ID: 103422
Summary: Menu bar: options names have no separation. Sometimes
one is over the other
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: giampaoli.gust...@gmail.com

Description:
Hi

I'm using LibreOffice in my 10" netbook. Works perfect. But I have this
annoying bug: Options in the menu bar (I use it in Spanish) like "File",
"Edit", "View" have no separation.

Example: I see FileEditViewInsert

Even more: "Herramientas" (Tools) and Ventana (Window) are one over the other
in this way: "Herramientas" is too long. So, the "s" from "Herramientas" is
over the "V" of "Ventana".

The only options that are separated are Ver Insertar. My Spanish bar looks like
this:

ArchivoEditarVer(SPACE)InsertarFormatoEstilosTabla(SPACE)HerramientaVentanaAyuda

There is space between "Ver" and "Insertar".

Also, there is space between "Tabla" and "Herramienta". But it looks smaller
that the space between "Ver" and "Insertar".

The "s" in the end of "Herramientas" is in front or behind the "V" of
"Ventana". You can see both letters.

Last night I restored the LibreOffice window and maximized it again. In that
moment, all options were separated from eachother.

However, I couldn't recreate this fix. It only happened once. Now, options show
one next the other and it doesn't change when I restore and maximize the
window.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I just open LibreOffice (Writer, Calc, Impress, whatever) with default
options.
2. I see the menu bar with all options without separation

Actual Results:
I can use LibreOffice normally. But it's a little annoying.

Expected Results:
Nothing to report in this item. Just that the "expected" behavior is that each
option should be separated from the others.

Reproducible: Always

Sure, functionally the dev and UX position is that Calc would benefit from
defining auto correct options independently of Writer. Eike dupped this to the
bug 98154 established for doing that "Some Autocorrect options should be
treated separately in Calc" [1]

With autocorrect configuration split, in Writer URL recognition will remain
enabled, while in Calc URL recognition would probably be disabled by default.

Eliminating your issue.

Deficiencies in the F1 Help and documentation of the URL recognition of the @
syntax is a side bar--that needs annotation in [2]

@Aron, probably should open a new issue for 1&2 against Documentation bug 80430
to revise text in the "Turning off Automatic URL recognition" [2], and post a
new bug for your items 3-6.

Otherwise agree with Miguel Ángel and Eike, and resolving DUP of 98154.

The issues seem to appear if a comment refers to a range of text and not only
to a point. Then, the highlighted area is at the completely wrong position. The
anchor of the comment refers to the wrong position, too.
The worst case is, if the text range spans over two pages. Then, the
highlighted area even is not above any text at all, but produces a gap between
text paragraphs and sits in middle between.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103420] New: Calc formmating lost and messed up

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103420

Bug ID: 103420
Summary: Calc formmating lost and messed up
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: riggra...@gmail.com

Description:
When opening a previously formatted calc spreadsheet the formatting is lost and
messed up. Numbers are converted to percentage format, dates are converted to
date and time, currency format is changed to a number. Normal fonts are bolded
of underlined, etc.

Tested with Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1
Build ID: f4ca1573fcf445164c068c1046ab5d084e1b005f
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.2; UI Render: default;
Locale: es-MX (es_MX); Calc: group
On Windows 10 and Windows XP SP3

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a new calc file
2.Apply some formatting to cells like background, borders, normal text, numbers
with currency, percentage and dates
3. Save the file
4. close calc
5. Open again, at this point maybe there will be no problem with the formatting
6. make formatting changes
7. save and close the file
8. repeat steps 5,6,7 until the formatting is messed up

Actual Results:
I don't know how many times is needed to reproduce the problem. In my test i
repeated the process about 5-6 times.

Expected Results:
The formatting should be preserved.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I noticed this problem since 2016 10 14 with one of the apha0 master of that
date
I am attaching some screenshoots and a test file

Writer menu in Spanish

Hm, I don't have the exact same issue, but changing the UI language of my
separate-installed 5.3.0.0 alpha1 (x64) / Windows 7 to Spanish shows some menu
items in English.

Seems like most of them are the same ones that stayed Spanish when you switched
to English UI.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103417] New: Spanish mixed strings in menus in english user interface

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103417

Bug ID: 103417
Summary: Spanish mixed strings in menus in english user
interface
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: riggra...@gmail.com

Description:
Testing Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1
Build ID: f4ca1573fcf445164c068c1046ab5d084e1b005f
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.2; UI Render: default;
Locale: es-MX (es_MX); Calc: group in Windows 10 and Window XP SP3

I found some mixed spanish translations in menus, when the user interface is
set to english, "Guardar" for "save", "guardar como" for "save as..." and
"Guardar copia" for "Save copy as..."

Steps to Reproduce:
0.Set the user interface to english
1.Open any type of new file, like writer
2.Open the File menu
3.See the Save options Save, Save as... and Save copy as... they have the
spanish translations.

Actual Results:
Also in the save icon, the "Save as..." option is also in spanish
Changing the user interface to spanish, some of the options are in english,
like open remote file and save remote file.

Expected Results:
The user interface should all be in the language set in the language options

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Maybe, but reality is that LibreOffice (and OO before) provides for this type
of layout annotation only through Draw's "Master Page"--folks needing an
occasional print shop ready layout can already make do with Draw.

As noted, print shop ready layout from the other modules is not well supported.

Developing a series of templates for Draw's Master Page composition might be of
some help for the average user--but efforts beyond that seem a bit too much of
a DTP corner case.

master~2016-10-21_17.41.07_LibreOfficeDev_5.3.0.0.alpha1_Win_x86_en-US_de_ar_ja_ru_vec_qtz.msi
as requested.

The problem is still here.

a quick summary:
environment is Windows 10 x64 (1607), Nvidia GTX970, 372.54 driver, intel
i7-4770 processor (intel GPU disabled in bios), 3840x2160 resolution, text size
200%.

without openGL rendering, on the test document I provided, if display 5x2 pages
on-screen, and hit page-down, I get 5-6 fps.

with openGL, the same test results in about 0.5-1 fps.

I see no other issues with openGL or hardware display acceleration on this
machine (in games or other applications), so I don't think any outside problem
interfers with LibrOffice.

Buovjaga, what was difficult about reporting this is that people like yourself
insist on replying without reading what I wrote. Aaron Budea was the only one.
He replicated my experience and identified six issues that need to be fixed.
His points are my points, if they are "separate", as you say, from bug 98154
and bug 75889 then that means this bug is not a duplicate. Last time I waited
patiently for two weeks for a response from Eike before reopening the bug.
Still nothing from Eike. So that's why I don't wait anymore. Reopening.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103412] Base report builder: "font color" and "background color" buttons are broken

--- Comment #1 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
I could confirm it is very difficult to get the menu of "font color" and
"background color" in conditional formatting.

To reproduce:
Open a database-file.
Goto reports and create a report without assistant.
Create a textfield without connection to any table.
Goto Format > Conditional Formatting
Try to choose "font color" or "background color" from a palette.
Most of the trials won't work. I had luck when pointing to the upper right
corner of the button.

My system: OpenSUSE 42.1 64bit rpm Linux, LO 5.2.2.2

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87813] SIDEBAR: Incorporating the effects list into the animation tab

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87813

I am afraid I did not get my point across properly.
I referred to the upper part of the Custom Animation pane where the animation
sequence is shown.
In the new version also the effect type is listed. This may be neat if there
are only few animation steps.
If there are detailed animations, however, I feel that the overview gets lost.
I attached two screenshots to illustrate this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103183] Pasting text from OneNote fails

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103183

OK, I can verify the behavior you have. If I Ctrl-C from OneNote, it does NOT
paste into LibreOffice. If I load the .CL7 file into free clipboard viewer, and
then paste into LibreOffice, it does paste the .BMP. Paste, paste special and
paste unformatted text were all accessible in the edit menu.

HOWEVER, there are some differences. The .CL7 file you show in your attachment
has some different categories than when I load the .CL7 file. Here's the diffs:

I have HTML Format, you don't.
You have Net Resource, I don't.
I have OneNote 2010 Internal, you don't.
All the remaining categories that you have, I also have.

When I do Ctrl-C in OneNote, I get 14 categories:
Preview, HTML Format, Unicode Text Format, Text, Enhanced Metafile, Bitmap DIB,
Locale Identifier, OEM Text, Metafile Picture Format, Bitmap, Bitmap DIBV5,
DataObject, OneNote 2010 Internal, and Ole Private Data.

But if I load the .cl7 file that I sent to you earlier, I get only 12
categories:
Preview, HTML Format, Unicode Text Format, Text, Bitmap DIB, Locale Identifier,
OEM Text, Bitmap DIBV5, Bitmap, DataObject, OneNote 2010 Internal, and Ole
Private Data (Enhanced Metafile and Metafile Picture Format are missing, and
the order of the Bitmap one changes.)

I verified that Ctrl-C gives 14 categories. I save the file in Free Clipboard
Viewer, then immediately reload it, and it only shows 12 categories. The two
Metafile categories are somehow dropped in the save process...or not loaded
properly by the clipboard viewer from the .CL7 file.

I can probably do a screen cast, but not at the moment due to schedule.

The requirement to copy/paste objects generically, is probably not possible to
implement without a big effort.

This needs to be implemented separately in each product part, and alone the
amount of work to do that, disqualifies it as a easyhack.

So i loaded the file into Free Clipboard Viewer on Windows 8.1 and paste, paste
special and paste unformatted text were all accessible in the edit menu. Only
bad thing was that it chose to paste Bitmap over Unformatted Text.

I've attached what the loading of the file looked like for me, so does it look

Hi Stuart, sorry I was incorrectly refering to klm32, actually it is The
Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator (MSKLC)
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/globalization/keyboardlayouts.aspx
I have had it for years, thus I can type into browsers, mail, word processors
exactly the same way. Set it up once and forget it.

Past few hours, I recorded some macros for both Writer and MS Word. In both
cases they are able to override the problem. MS Word only caused problems when
the command was already defined, but it allows you to redefine them.

Writer was annoying, because it never had this issue and I don"t see any reason
why it should now.

Anyway I can force it with macros, so I am happy as a user, just thought this
feedback may help others.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103396] Trim marks are not available for use when a professional printer requires them

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103396

I have done what you suggest with various documents, i.e. making the page
"bigger" to accommodate bleed/crop marks, and so on. I just have to figure out
how to add crop marks to the document -- the border section of the page dialog
doesn't quite get me what I want. If I could have the borders go all the way to
the edge of the page, it would be better.

Workarounds for items mentioned in initial bug report:
Make page size larger than required (allows for bleed)
Add borders (KIND OF ACTS LIKE CROP MARKS, may have some black borders on final
piece) around entire page, change "spacing to contents" and margins
appropriately
Export to PDF and then use ghostscript to convert to CMYK.

For reference, I use the following command to convert to pdfs to the CMYK color
space (which is why I was requesting an enhancement on crop marks):

#!/usr/bin/env bash
gs \
-o "cmyk-${1}" \
-sDEVICE=pdfwrite \
-sProcessColorModel=DeviceCMYK \
-sColorConversionStrategy=CMYK \
-sColorConversionStrategyForImages=CMYK \
-dEncodeColorImages=false \
-dOverrideICC \
"${1}"

I probably should have focused on writer, since that is the program used when
creating business cards from the menu, instead of mentioning draw.

After typing that all up, crop marks might go better in the "Page Style"
"Borders" section.

Yes on a small screen (e.g. 1280x768), the 136px (7.25 text lines) height of
the effect listbox (effect_list) takes up a significant amount of space when
compared to the 186px height being used for the custom animation list listbox
(Custom Animation ListBox-selection1).

Not sure what can be done to improve this other than possibly reducing the
effect listbox to 92px (~5 text lines).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103414] New: Allow decimal place commands to modify additional number formats

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 103414
Summary: Allow decimal place commands to modify additional

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

I think it might be nice if the add decimal place and delete decimal place
commands (.uno:NumberFormatIncDecimals, .uno:NumberFormatDecDecimals) also
worked with additional commands like date and time number formats.

For example, if a user entered '09:00 AM', it is automatically set to number
format HH:MM:SS AM/PM ('09:00:00 AM') and then it would be nice to be able to
press delete decimal to change it to HH:MM AM/PM and pressing delete decimal
again and it changes to HH AM/PM. It would work in a similar but reverse way
when pressing add decimal, all the way to HH:MM:SS.00 AM/PM.

Adding and deleting decimals for dates would work in a similar way to add or
remove the day, month, etc. (e.g. -MM-DD -> -MM -> ) and it would
also work with date + time combos like 'MM/DD/YY HH:MM AM/PM'.

Take a Draw or Impress document, insert a _linked_ image. Apply the color
filter "Invert" (from the 'Image' toolbar).
The colors are inverted.
Save the document.
Reopen the document.
Notice, the image is no longer inverted.

Further error: If the attribute draw:color-inversion="true" is set manually in
the file, this attribute is not evaluated on opening.

Take a Writer document, insert a _linked_ image. Apply the color filter
"Invert". The colors are inverted.
Save the document.
Notice, that the image is embedded without asking the user and inverting is
done on the image itself, instead of only inverting the rendering.

If you unpack the document, you will see, that Writer writes the attribute
draw:color_inversion="false".
If you insert a _linked_ image and save the document immediately and then add
the attribute draw:color-inversion="true" manually, then Writer will read it
correctly and renders the image inverted. On resave Writer then keeps the image
linked and keeps the attribute, if you do nothing with this image.

Expected behavior:
(1) When applying the color filter "Invert" on a linked image, the image is not
embedded, but the ODF attribute draw:color-inversion="true" is set.
(2) The ODF attribute draw:color-inversion is not only evaluated for
Writer-images but for Draw-images too.
(3) If a linked image is embedded, the user is asked.

Khaled,

Have you installed MS PMingLiu in your system?

For some reason I can't open font application from Linux. But I don't remember
that I have installed one, so might it be affected by font fallback?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103137] Incorrectly handled ligatures in Linux Libertine G

2016-10-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103137

Created attachment 128158
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=128158=edit
Bold ligatures test document

I found another bug with Linux Libertine G.

If I try to make bold a base word in affixed word I cannot to that. I just can
make bold the base word with the ligature came from the affixation.

For example the base word is "széf", the affixed word is "széffel" and has a
ligature (ff). I cannot make bold the "széf" characters in the word "széffel"
because of the ff ligature. I just can make bold "széff"...

And there is a strange thing about that issue if the ligature is tt.
Shall be the base word is "kapcsolat" and the affixed word is "kapcsolattal".
If I make bold the "kapcsolatt" in the word "kapcsolattal" the result is
"kapcsolatal", where "kapcsolat" is bold and there is a missing second t
letter.

I attached a sample document.

Linux Libertine G could be a great, well-featured font but now it's almost
unusable because of these annoying issues. Should I look for new graphite font
or there will be fix for these bugs in the near future?
