One additional comment regarding opening an .xls file with VBA macros from a
gvfs / samba share: I am *not* prompted to enable the macros when the document
opens. The macros are somewhat enabled, resulting in the the error, but
something is corrupting to not prompt the user to enable them on load.

To confirm Justin L's observation, When opening the file with a CIFS connection
via /etc/fstab and the same .xls file, I am prompted to enable the macros, and
then the macro when executed will complete successfully.

The same behavior is present with either a Windows File Server, or Samba
running on a Linux server.

I did not reproduce the bug under Win8.1 x64 using LibO 5.1.5.2 and 5.2.1.2

please consider that LibO 5.2.1.2 is an early release which is not ready for
production so I think you should consider upgrading to LibO 5.2.2.2 or wait the
incoming release of 5.2.3.2 to see if bug is still reproducible.

if the problem persists downgrade to 5.1.5.2 or wait the incoming release of
5.1.6.2

Thanks very much for investigating this; it's good to know you could reproduce
it.

In the meantime, if you think of a workaround that I might try, please let me
know.

I plan to create a template document with only the default styles I need, plus
the page and paragraph styles I need, then save the faulty files as RTF, copy
their text into the "good" template file, and then re-break the pages using the
appropriate (header-less) page style for each chapter start.

A simpler approach I might try 1st is deleting all page breaks, and
re-inserting them.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, I'm "all ears".

I probably won't be starting on the workaround attempt until about Nov 10th.

I can confirm that the links download as .man files in IE. While issues with
the website should be raised at http://redmine.documentfoundation.org/ , let's
take care of this one here.

Xisco, can you see to it that the owner of this mirror adds the respective mime

Bug verified in 5.2.2.2 64 bit on Windows 8.1.

Seems quite high risk of data loss.

Open LibreOffice, create a new Calc document. Enter data into the spreadsheet.
Create a chart from some of the data (example using bar chart). Double click on
chart to change some formats etc. Use File, Save while chart is still in edit
mode, saves only the chart into .odc file. User probably not going to notice
that it is saved as .odc file. Close spreadsheet document, no warnings are
given. Reopen the document and the user finds only the chart. Only data that
was in the chart data table can be recovered, but not easily.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103508] New: Underline, Strikethrough, and Overline sizes and position are permanently fixed and cannot be adjusted

2016-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103508

Bug ID: 103508
Summary: Underline, Strikethrough, and Overline sizes and
position are permanently fixed and cannot be adjusted
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: minuteme...@yahoo.com

Description:
The thickness and positions of Underline, Strikethrough and Overline are
arbitrarily set according to the typeface font being used and cannot be
adjusted by you, the end user of LibreOffice.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type any text you are familiar with, e.g. "The quick brown fox jumps over
the lazy dog," etc., and use the Edit > Copy/Paste to repeat the text multiple
times, all while making everything is the same size (e.g. 14-point size).
2. Select each line individually, then assign a different typeface font to each
line, so that every line is of a different font.
3. Next, select "All" (Ctrl-A or Edit--> Select All) then select Format-->
Character. In the dialog that shows up, select the Font Effects tab, then
select the various Overline, Strikethrough and Underline features (especially
the Wave and Double Wave features of Overline and Underline).

Actual Results:
The thickness and position of Overline, Strikethrough and Underline is
arbitrary according to the parameters set forth by the typeface font used, and
the Wave sizes of the Wave and Double Wave features are big with one font and
small with another font.

Expected Results:
Overline, Strikethrough and Underline size and position should be uniform
across all fonts being used. This usually cannot be done automatically, so end
users of LibreOffice need to have a new option to adjust these parameters
manually.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Ideally, in the Format-->Character command, LibreOffice users should have a new
option to manually adjust the size, thickness and exact position of each
Overline, Strikethrough and Underline on their own terms rather than those set
forth by the individual fonts' designers.

For high school & college students, job applicants and top management of any
company, professional reporters, etc, the ability to adjust underline,
strikethrough and overline thickness and position manually can be a real
necessity for anyone to mantifest professional penmanship. Excellent grammar is
not enough!

I see, then it is more likely a bug in the Windows rendering code not the
cross-platform layout code. I have some local changes to improve Windows

Observe that 'Scaling factor' = '100%'

Thus, 'Scaling factor' is lost". I also checked this on two recent LO 5.2.x

OK, thanks. It's just to know that it's not from some 'strange' application
that created it.

And still present in recent dailys.

The bug is new and marked as perf, so up to the devs (or maybe you?) to see
where in the code the time is spent..

Hi got this crash when I tried to copy content of this page

https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/print/334542

to the writer. There are some chords for a guitar at the bottom which I think
might have caused it.

I tried it once more, it took some time but did not crash again. So I don't
know if you will be able to reproduce it

@Cor Nouws: maybe I have some spare time to try debugging a little bit deeper
but normally thats not my daily business.
I created the file by myself simply by copy it in all the cells I
needed. The creation was also really slow but at the time of creation it wasn't
something special for me. I was astonished as I had to open the file again half
an hour later and it took me longer then the creation.

@Julien Nabet: I will update my computer to the newest Ubuntu release tonight
but as Cor Nouws already confirmed it seems to be a really old bug.

Resetting version to Inherited from OOo, and component to LibreOffice.

Also, sorry but this issue is open for Windows, but as noted comment 38 it
affects Linux, bug 48783 and OS X as well.

An enhancement as in comment 62 would be needed to eventually resolve this,

I wend to Tools -> Options...; LibreOfficeDev -> Personalization, clicked Own

Got a crash with this crash report:

On second try it was working though, so the reproduction might not be reliable.

Here are some steps that cause the bug for me on Win 10. I don't think it's the
only way to cause the bug because there are some side effects from this method
that are different from usual, but it is one way to cause it.

1) Copy Text from Libre (Ctrl-C).
2) Paste into Libre (Ctrl-V).
3) Wait for computer to go to sleep, and HDD turns off.
4) Wake computer up, and turn HDD back on.
5) Copy text from outside Libre (Ctrl-C).
6) Continue pasting text from step 2 into Libre (Ctrl-V).

Also I noticed that when I caused the bug in this way, using Ctrl-Z would only
move the cursor to where the last paste was, but it wouldn't remove it. This
seems like a separate bug, but since it was caused by this bug reproduction
method, I will write it here. After producing bug as above, start new process
as follows:

1) Write some text in Libre.
2) Paste from broken clipboard (Ctrl-V).
3) Write some text in Libre.
4) Undo 3 times (Ctrl-Z).

Outcome:
4a) Undoes text from step 3.
4b) Moves cursor to beginning of text from step 2, but does not delete it
4c) Undoes text from step 1.

Note that I can still delete the pasted text from step 2 manually with no
problem, it's just a problem with the undo behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103501] New: Crash after single click on graph

2016-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103501

Bug ID: 103501
Summary: Crash after single click on graph
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ro...@stephanmantler.com

Description:
Calc sometimes crashes upon simple interactions with graphs (simple left clicks
and dragging).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open document containing graphs
2. perform simple interactions (selecting cells, clicking on graph, ...)
3. Calc will eventually crash. Sometimes takes a few minutes of interaction.

Actual Results:
Calc eventually crashes and offers to recover documents. Curiously, after
opening successfully recovered documents for the first time it appears to be
even more prone to crashing. This suggests that there is a connection to the
actual view being displayed.

Expected Results:
Stability.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: Yes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97193] macro to copy/paste using dispatchhelper not working correctly (or as it did previously)

I use 4.2.something and 5.1.4.2 on different machines. As a workaround, rather
than change MoveMode from 4 to 6, I commented out the MoveMode entirely, and
that seems to have worked on both versions, as if INS_NONE is the default.
Hopefully it will continue working (for a while, at least) in fixed versions.
Although, if the default is whatever is last in the enum, then it probably
won't. Is there any way of using constants in the macro code, like
args(5).value = INS_NONE?

2016-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Created attachment 128265
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=128265=edit
Simple PPTX example, created from scratch in MSO 2016

It can be reproduced from scratch. Here is what I did:

1) Open MS PowerPoint (I have version 2016 installed, but as the history shows,
this can be reproduced with all versions back to 2010 at least, I think 2007
will work as well).

2) Open master slide view

3) go to slide master "title with content"

4) change the line spacing of the contents (I used spacing 1,5 and after 12pt)

5) close master view

6) change slide layout to "title with content"

7) create three lines of text

8) change the font of all lines to Arial

9) change the line spacing of the second line (I used 18pt before)

10) create some reference objects (I used squares and lines) to indicate the
upper limit of the text lines

11) save as pptx

12) open in LibreOffice Impress (I currently have 5.1.0.3 but it works back in
all the other versions as well as the bug history shows). See the difference
(see screenshot attached)

#N/A is sorted last and empty dates at the beginning for me in attachment
121289 before saving. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe you need to provide
a clean file in addition to your "end result" file?

Third PPTX example, opposite behavior

This is the third PPTX example, but with opposite behavior. Unlike the first
one, which was OK until LO 3.4 and wrong from 3.5, this one was wrong before
and fine since - speaking about fileopen.
This one attached has a problem with filesave, original spacing is changed from
before 12pt and after 2pt to 0.00cm (as seen with FORMAT -> PARAGRAPH -> tab
INDENTS & SPACING).

the bugdoc contains page style "First_20_Page" with a footer and
a separate first-page footer with subtly different content.

commit 22355042a6fc7aecf3caab69b3fa3be1430b697f fixed the problem
that the first (and only) page displayed the "footer" and not the
"first-page footer", but apparently there is another bug in the
DOCX export that lets it pick the wrong footer for the exported section.

commit dcea8ba3b4fc347e7b6d9e0d5ec2fd99bd77ce6f looks very suspicious.

fixed on master.

Simple PPTX created from scratch in MSO 2010

Looks like this can't be repro from scratch, as in my example. Please test
other cases and add "specific PPTX" to the title if confirmed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103356] MS Defender detects soffice.bin as trojan

2016-10-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103356

Hi Everyone,

I too had this same problem with "MS Defender" saying that the "soffice.bin"
was "Malware" and blocking it. But I DID NOT have to Re-Install LibreOffice
like others have said. All I did was to go into the "QUARANTINE" Directory (of
MS Defender) and mark the file for "RESTORE" and that fixed it. LibreOffice
worked as before without ANY problems.

Honestly though, when this happened I contacted LibreOffice (within 10 minuted)
and notified them about the problem (thinking that POSSIBLY, JUST POSSIBLY)
they might have come in contact with a Virus (or something else).

I was hoping for them to take a look at the "Soffice.Bin" file (which I would
have gladly sent them) I had in the Quarantine Directory (BEFORE I Restored it
back to where it was). They dropped the ball (as far as I'm concerned) as they
NEVER asked me to send (the Soffice.Bin file) to them

Although I have not had ANY problems since I Restored the file it STILL make me
concerned as to WHAT actually happened and WHY it did what it did. I do have to
say in LibreOffice's defense that they were fast to respond to this issue
although I do believe they could have done more...

All through this time (including up to now) I have been reminded about an issue
that happened sometime back in the 70's or 80's when some Game Maker (Software
company whom I can't remember the name of) sent out CD's that customers bought,
that unknowingly contained a virus that infected millions of users worldwide. I
for one do not want to go through this again, nor do I wish the same for
others.

Hope this helps...

Best Regards...

Joe Schutts
