I have installed the daily build and it opens the file in question. This was
using the home PC setup.

I will try the Work PC setup when I get into work.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103596] Support OpenType Font Variation based text layout

Recently HB 1.4.1 is released, which improved build configuration to gef better
performance when building with Unicode data, so I suggest intergrate HB 1.4.1
or newer.

After doing some backtraces, I found OnFoundData at
svx/source/form/fmshimp.cxx:2181 is never called.

I'm thinking about how to implement this. To replace a record, we would first
need to search for it, and since we already have search functionality in place,
we could reuse parts of it. But I'm still not sure, where I would be inserting
the "Replace" code.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105136] New: TextCursor gotoNextWord method fails when paragraph does not end in period

2017-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105136

Bug ID: 105136
Summary: TextCursor gotoNextWord method fails when paragraph
does not end in period
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vic.orgos+bugslibreoff...@gmail.com

Description:
While running 5.0.5.2, I wrote a macro to move the visible cursor to the next
misspelled word. When I upgraded to 5.2.4.2 the macro was getting stuck. Upon
further investigation it appears that the bug is there from as early as 5.1.6.2
release. I've checked and it there regardless of language used, I originally
caught it with Greek question marks (;), or operating system used, I tried
Linux, Windows 10, Windows 7.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type paragraph and end it with punctuation other than period
2. Run macro.
3.

Actual Results:
Macro appears stuck, will eventually give error possibly due to resources
issue...?

Expected Results:
Expect the macro not to get stuck ?!?

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101664] Formatting : appearance of the drop caps disappears after closing a document

2017-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101664

Created attachment 130192
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=130192=edit
Screenshot of Paragraph Style dialog: Pointing out tricky bug behavior. Some
settings are lost, some are correctly retained.

I am seeing this bug on LibreOffice v5.2.4.2. It seems like there are more Drop
Caps related settings beeing lost, than just the "Display Drop Caps" checkbox.

E.g. the "Lines" setting is reset to the default value after reopening the
document. Other settings, like "Character style" work properly.

Behaviour:
1. Create a new ODT document in LibreOffice Writer.
2. Paste some paragraphs (plain text)
3. Create a new Paragraph Style based on the "Default Style"
4. Go to register "Drop Caps" and check "Display Drop Caps"
5. Change value for "Lines" to 2 (default is 3) and "Character style" to
something different.
6. Confirm dialog with pressing OK
7. Apply the Paragraph Style "Default Style" to the entire text.
8. Check -> Document should now look as expected: Paragraphs have drop caps.
9. Check -> It is possible to export the document to PDF. PDF has drop caps.
10. Save the document
11. Close the document
12. Reopen the document
13. Check -> Drop Caps are gone
14. Check -> The Paragraph Style is still applied to the text
15. Edit the Paragraph Style and go to Register "Drop Caps"
16. Check -> Settings "Display Drop Caps" and "Lines" are gone
17. Check -> Setting "Character style" is still correct

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105135] New: Can't set "no fill" background to multiple table cells unless they have the same background

2017-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105135

Bug ID: 105135
Summary: Can't set "no fill" background to multiple table cells
unless they have the same background
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: octa...@alvarezp.org

Description:
If I select many cells in a table and they don't have the same background, I
can't set them to "no fill".

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Writer document

2. Create a 2x2 table

3. Place cursor on first cell.

4. Right click » Table Properties » Background » As: Color, For: Cell,
Background = Yellow, OK.

This will set a yellow background to the first cell. This is OK.

5. Select many cells but make sure to include the modified cell.

6. Right click » Table Properties » Background » As: Color, For: Cell,
Background = No Fill

Actual Results:
All marked cells should clear their background color.

Expected Results:
Nothing happens.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
However, if:

7. Select many cells but make sure to include the modified cell.

8. Right click » Table Properties » Background » As: Color, For: Cell,
Background = Blue

This will set a blue background to all cells. This is OK.

9. Without changing the selection, repeat step 6 (set background to No Fill).

Curiously enough, this time it works!

On Fedora 25, LO build ID 5.2.3.3-11.fc25, I still see the bug as originally
described.

Marking with the regression keyword as the bug was not present in version

Thanks for the details. So this seems to be a pretty old driver from years ago.
While the CPU is old as well, I wonder if current drivers from [1] would work.
Release notes only state SSE4.2 support as requirement.

I guess the driver version should be blacklisted in LibreOffice, too.

Confirmed with LO 5.2.2.2.

I agree with Comment 6: "If I search a document, I want everything (and that
includes comments) searched. Imo that would be appropriate default behavior."

This is especially appropriate in case of a text occurring only in a comment in
an otherwise long document: the document is successfully found by Spotlight as
containing the text, and then LO does not find the text itself!

There is not such bug.

Change the format doesn't change the content of the cell.

So the text in a cell formatted as text remains as text after change the cell

It requires no programming. Just dump your word list--annotate with hypenbreaks
if needed and post it to the appropriate folder (per user or shared). And, the
existing GUI lets you do most of the work as well as clean up and additions.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95563] enhancement request: Specialised user Dictionaries

2017-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95563

So by doing this I can create or others can create a custom dictionary for a
specific field of endeavour like mechanics, engineering, Biology, Physics and
share it nationally.

Unfortunately not all of us are programmers and so the how tocreate a
dictionary is it seems fraught with difficulty and one has tried googling it
but same applies lots of custom personal ones but nothing on how to create and
propergate one or more.

If their was an App/Gui Program that allowed you to dump your custom words,
create a description, fill in some of the gaps non OS bits like Creative
Commons bits and such then that would help as it could allow those specialist
in the field of their studies to create custom dictionaries quickly and in the
correct format for LO.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40961] should set configuration at installation time

This bug still occur on 5.2.4.2 from Debian binary packages (GNU/Linux x86_64)
that I downloaded from http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ .

Below are the successive calls when clicking on a LibreOffice document with a
file explorer or starting the application from desktop menu :
---
j@VB:~$ dpkg-query -L libreoffice5.2-debian-menus | grep "writer.desktop$"
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice5.2-writer.desktop
j@VB:~$ grep -i exec /usr/share/applications/libreoffice5.2-writer.desktop
Exec=libreoffice5.2 --writer %U
Exec=libreoffice5.2 --writer
j@VB:~$ which libreoffice5.2
/usr/bin/libreoffice5.2
j@VB:~$ ls -l /usr/bin/libreoffice5.2

j@VB:~$ file /opt/libreoffice5.2/program/soffice
/opt/libreoffice5.2/program/soffice: POSIX shell script, ASCII text executable
j@VB:~$
---

When I look at the /opt/libreoffice5.2/program/soffice script, it performs a
lot of detections each time it is invoked :
1. resolve installation directory
2. parse many test purpose options and search the related tool : --record
--backtrace --strace --valgrind ...
3. detect if the host system is "NetBSD|OpenBSD|DragonFly" or not
...

Let's assume there are problems during document import, which never worked
correctly anyway, and thus this probably isn't really a regression.
Nevertheless, I'm adding bug 99227 as related, maybe there's a connection
between the two.

Hi Jacques,

sorry but i think, that it is a bug!
It works fine in LO 5.1.4.2 , but not in LO-Version 5.2.4.2 and 5.3.0.1
(Winx86_64).
Please have look to attached file, sheet "Planung". This sheet contains many
Entries for conditional formatting. You can try to edit some of the conditions.
Normally you can toggle between list of condition and conditions itself by edit
and ok or edit and cancel.
In LO 5.2.4.2 and LO 5.3.0.1 you can not edit more than one condition without
crash of the function. LO don't crash completely it seems to work fine but if
you want to edit an conditional formatting again you must restart LO!

I have reproduced this issue on my work PC, that has MSOffice installed,
version XP upgraded to 2003 then upgraded to 2007 which is the current version.
The Work PC has Windows 8.1. I can recreate the crash and get the crash report
again if needed.

On my home PC I have MSOffice 2003 upgraded to 2007. The Home PC has Windows
10.

Without downgrading to MSOffice 2003 or XP to see if the issue remains I can
provide very little else in way of information unless specifically asked for or
told you need some thing specific.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95563] enhancement request: Specialised user Dictionaries

Matt changed:

Many times people in specific professions need specialised dictionaries that
are focused on the type of writing they do. The current personal dictionary
system is that you can load your own words into a personal dictionary, however
if you are working on projects that require specialist words, then currently a
massive personal dictionary either slows down the system, or LO will not allow
all the words.

While you can load specialist language dictionaries like French, Greek, English
you cannot set up specialist word ones, like Medical, Engineering, writers,
Physics, Chemistry, etc. Nor is their any way inc LO software to develop new
Dictionaries for this, and this is a big issue for any profession that requires
specialized words.

While One appreciates basic English/American is ok for some the need for this
is as one has seen with quiet a few people and organisations from either
working with or talking to online a factor which makes OS Libre Office a non
viable option with regards office implementation or system implementation inc
funding as a cheaper and more ethical alternative to Microsoft Office which
currently does allow for specialised Dictionaries and actively helps users and
organisation/Universities and businesses develop them.

Can you check if there's an /cache/opencl_devices.log files, and
attach it if exists? There's a chance it won't, but you never know...

If we can get the OpenCL driver version, it should be worthy of blacklisting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105129] New: ".~lock files" constantly opening and slowing performance on all windows systems, not in Linux system.

2017-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105129

Bug ID: 105129
Summary: ".~lock files" constantly opening and slowing
performance on all windows systems, not in Linux
system.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jetman1...@gmail.com

Description:
.~lock files keep coming up and slowing things down whenever I open a file. I
think it was from opening files created in Office XP Professional, mostly .doc,
or maybe even .rtf. I was working on some customer computers, and they had MS
Office XP Professional, with the "Compatibility Pack" that allows them to read
.docx etc. from newer versions of M.S. Office from what I understand. It seems
ever since working with these files I have had this issue, and LibreOffice
still works but performance is bad. Now it seems ".~lock files" are opening on
files that were not part of the original problem, but all, and on all my
windows installations. This is not happening on my Linux Machines. Here is one
of the "bug reports" I sent:
crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/488e487e-8420-4e49-b4a9-2246280c2a70

Appologies, I sent multiple bug reports because I was so irritated. Never again
will I open a file created on one of those machines.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Just opening a ".docx", ".doc" or ".rtf" file
2.Seems to happen randomly
3.

Unfortunately, simulations are what I do for a living. :-(

You can get the installer here:

If you do not do
- scientific computation
- physics simulations (hard/soft/rigid body, cloth, fluid, smoke etc.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105128] New: Writer's "Always Correct to" not returning focus to main editing window

2017-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105128

Bug ID: 105128
Summary: Writer's "Always Correct to" not returning focus to
main editing window
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.1 rc
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: arieltor...@gmail.com

Description:
When choosing an option in the Always correct to dialog, focus doesn't return
to the main Writer editing window, which forces to an Alt-Tab (twice) to keep
typing. This is new and it appeared –I guess– in 5.2.3 and is still present in
the latest 5.2.4.2.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a typo
2. Choose Always correct to>
3. Select {some word} with the mouse or keyboard and clic or press Enter

Actual Results:
You'll not be able to keep writing and you'll have to Alt-Tab twice to return
to main window

Expected Results:
You should return to the main writing window to keep typing normally

Reproducible: Always

This bug looks strange to me. You mean, if OLE is not present, to add at least
picture? That's not how LO should work.
Seems like DOCX has some issues, although there was an improvement.
DOC is fine, but that should be a separate bug anyway.
Please test with LO 5.3 beta and 5.4. master and report back. You can get
http://tdf.io/siguiexe to run parallel LO (extract without installation).
I'd recommend this one be closed and clean new bug report created.

I do have "Intel SDK for OpenCL - CPU Only Runtime Package", version

For the record, the problem affects all of the LibreOffice applications, not
just Calc. I would prefer not to uninstall this software, because I do not have

The "corrupted" message is because the manifest (META-INF/manifest.xml in the
.odb ZIP structure) becomes inconsistent with the actual contents.

Need to either update the manifest, or indeed do a restore to .fdb in a
Firebird 3.0 (which will happen to work...) and include a 3.0 fdb and no fbk
(LibreOffice will convert it to a fbk).

To update the manifest, just replace within it:

Regina, please test with master, now that Bug 59046 is resolved.
Both LO-master saved ppt and pptx can be open in MSO now.
Export to ppt (not good) and pptx (rather good) is different and bugs might be
separated.
Please attach some screenshot with explanation for polar handle.
Title should be updated to precisely define bug, and "invalid .pptx" is not
correct.

I have upgraded to the latest version 5.2.4.2 and checked that my openGL
parameters are as recommended. Despite many attemps, I am unable to reproduce
the crash.

I suspect the bug is identical to bug 89957

because:

It is intermittent
It appears only when I have a particular very complex spreadsheet open

I attach the macro code.

This is one of those old "document(s) based" bugs that were not properly
triaged at the time in order to have "issue based" bugs. Not related, but as an
example, please check Bug 90237.

Bug title was "wrong layout" but now with 5.4 master, layout of attachment
63330 is OK.
Only bubble shapes are not correct. That's because it's Word 2007 docx and even
bubbles are OK if previously saved in Word 2010.
That could be a separate bug, if not reported already. But, I don't think it's
worth reporting because of this old 2007 docx version.

Attachment 63331 has some layout problems in LO plus penguin bubble shape. When
also saved in Word 2010 it loses some data, like penguin text. So, even MSO has
problems with that file.
Both 2007 and 2010 docx are imported in LO with wrong shape (thermometers) and
I find that's worth reporting.

I'll close this one as WFM, having in mind layout.
Feel free to report remaining issues separately.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105126] New: file recovers only to crash again on opening.

2017-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 105126
Summary: file recovers only to crash again on opening.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Created attachment 130180

writer file with section including endnotes followed by index

This bug concerns a large file with endnotes and indices. The main text and
endnotes have been put into an initial section, so that the indices can follow.
The file takes a few minutes to load completely, but the load pointer allows
immediate editing. Meanwhile the page counter keeps adding pages until the
full count has been reached.
I think I began editing in the endnotes before the file was fully loaded. The
file then crashed. Recovery produced a file that started well, but after the
page counter added a page of two, the file crashed again. Now it is in an
endless cycle--upon loading, the file crashed within few seconds.

I have move the pointer to the top of the file, but the crashing just
continues.
I have attempted to select all and to transfer the clipboard to another file,
but the clipboard memory disappears just a soon as the file crashes.

How can I break the cycle? How do I check for a corrupt file? How can I
recover the original document?

Thanks for your help!

I have attached a copy of the file hoping that will help.
