I just tried build 5.2.3.3:

With 5.2.3.3 issue.ods directly exported to PDF without any adjustments leads
to the same bad output.

But I notice that build 5.2.3.3 displays only 3 if the 4 rows on screen. If I
do a double-click to auto-adjust the row heights, build 5.2.3.3 displays all 4
lines AND will produce a good PDF/printing result.

So the regression bug in 5.3.0.3 release is that the fonts are displayed with
other size and that auto-adjust fails to calculate the correct row heights.
Interesting is that with zoom level greater than 100 % (for example 120 %) the
result is better.

Continuing on re-doing the small amount of work lost when Writer crashed, I
realise that I *had* finished editing the comment entirely and was simply
editing the main body of the document when it crashed.

I do think it was just after I'd used Undo, however.

Sorry, I confused myself by looking at the state of the comment in the file
that LO recovered. Yes, all those edits (and more) are in place in the screen
shot I've attached. I had somehow convinced myself I was looking at the screen
shot rather than the recovered document window while I was completing the bug
report.

Please ignore my near-insane speculations about un-refreshed back-buffers. (How
embarrassing!)

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Screenshot of what LO looked like as it crashed

Since upgrading from LO 5.1.x to 5.2.5.1, I have had two hard crashes with a
dialog pop-up that says std::bad_alloc.
See attached screen shot.
I had just typed Ctrl-Z, IIRC, while editing a comment. I'm pretty sure that's
correct, looking at all the typos. Strangely, I have a crystal clear memory of
fixing all those, just before it crashed, despite the evidence of the
screenshot. In fact, I'm certain I fixed "cybered", "mage", "sort",
"stimulant", "running", "and", "test", and was fixing something further down
in the comment when I used Undo. I'd even added the text ";she's not a
shape-shifter" and I think I had also reduced the comment's font size from 12
to 11. I'm 100% certain I made all those edits. Yet the screen snapshot doesn't
agree! Could the screen buffer grabbed by the gnome screen shot be "out of
date"?! (Taken from some un-refreshed back-buffer?)

I have attached a (non-debug, sorry) gdb backtrace FWIW.

It also crashed exactly the same way two days before, but this time while I was
simply typing in new text. Note that LO is struggling with this file because
the number of comments have grown. So sometimes I have to wait for what I type
to appear. I don't know if that's relevant or not. It's the reason for all
the typos: I was typing fast on this occasion, adding the comment, and typing
blind, since I had to wait about 30 seconds for the text to appear. So then I
started fixing it, and then... boom!

This seems different, to me, from what is described in 95957. I have reopened
the files and

Summary: LibreOffice Writer label dimension of 1/100" is too

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release

Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: douglas_pe...@yahoo.com

Description:
Using Avery 8167 return address labels with 20 rows of labels on a US letter
page, the bottom label prints about 0.05" higher than the first. With a
resolution of 1/100", this can not be fixed because a 0.01" change in the
spacing results in a 0.2" shift of the last label. The labels are only 0.5"
tall.
Please allow 0.001" resolution.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.try to change vertical pitch by 0.001"
2.
3.

Actual Results:
vertical pitch does not change.
Try and change it by 0.005", and it changes by 0.01" instead.

Expected Results:
I expected to be able to adjust the alignment of the last label to match that
of the 1st. Smallest step change moved the last label text way too far.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The spacing numbers in the template are correct, I am attempting to compensate
for a slight scaling by the printer/printer driver.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79588] Macros called from within formulas doesn't survive save, close and reopen of the calc-document.

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79588

--- Comment #11 from Richard Bruce Baxter ---
This issue is still occurring on LibreOffice 5.3.0.3 (x64). I have attached the
following example to demonstrate the bug;
libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods.

To Replicate;
1. Ensure that libreOffice Macro security is set to Low/Medium (libreOffice -
Tools - options - security - Macro security - Medium)
2. Open document (e.g. libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods) -
select enable Macros

Note that libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods is a very
simple example. In cell A1 it contains the text "Some Text". In Cell B1 it
contains the forumla =GETCELL("Sheet1", "A1"). In LibreOffice - Tools - macros
- organise macros - libreoffice basic -
libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods - [myCalcFunctions] -
Module1 it contains the following code*;
REM * BASIC *
Sub Main
End Sub
Function GETCELL(sheetName As String, cellReference As String)
oSheet = ThisComponent.Sheets.getByName(sheetName)
oCell = oSheet.getCellRangeByName(cellReference).String
'Msgbox(oCell)
GETCELL = oCell
End Function

Expected Behaviour;
Libreoffice executes user defined macro functions upon document load (cell B1
should read "Some Text").

Actual Behaviour;
Libreoffice doesn't execute user defined macro functions upon document load
(all cell formulae containing references to these functions are evaluated as
"#NAME?". Cell B1 therefore displays "#NAME?")

Workaround (to reload macros for cells);
1. Open document (e.g. libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods) -
select enable Macros
2. LibreOffice - Tools - macros - organise macros - libreoffice basic -
libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods - [myCalcFunctions] -
Module1 - Edit (open the editor)
{or LibreOffice - Tools - macros - edit macros -
libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods - [myCalcFunctions] -
Module1}
3. edit cell - space - backspace - enter (force LibreOffice to re-evaluate the
cell formula).

Non-workaround;
A previous workaround suggested in this bug report thread was to move the macro
function definition from 'libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad.ods
- [myCalcFunctions] - Module1' to 'My Macros & Dialogs - Standard - Module1'.
This however is a non-solution, as standard functions may be called before the
document's sheets are loaded, depending upon how the document has been saved
(NB there appears to be another bug relating to inconsistent saving of a
document as to whether the standard macros will be executed before or after its
sheets are loaded). I have provided an alternate example to demonstrate this
bug. To replicate;
1. Open libreOffice Calc
2. LibreOffice - Tools - macros - organise macros - libreoffice basic - My
Macros & Dialogs - Standard - Module1 - Edit (add the code above*)
3. Close LibreOffice
4. Open
libreOfficeBug-macroFunctionsNotEvaluatedUponLoad-withoutEmbeddedMacro.ods -
select enable Macros
5. Note that the following error is thrown; "Basic Runtime error. Property or
method not found: Sheets."

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105971] FILEOPEN DOC Image anchored To Character is positioned incorrectly

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105971

Thank you for your help in identifying the lack of anchoring, an error of
inconsistency on users part that is tolerated by MS Word but Writer is
sensitive to.
I have advised the user of the error and corrected the document in MS Word,
also tested in Libre Writer.
I have advised a technique to ensure that anchoring is correct. Clearly without
this error there would have been no problem with Writer.

Hopefully this will get the user more competent whilst alerting to a difference
between MS Word and Writer.

Thanks again.

Sorry people. When I first reported the bug, I was confident this would be
obvious and easy to reproduce. I ran into this bug within 2 minutes of testing
a fresh install of LO 5.3.0. I'm now unable to reproduce this bug even using
the exact same environment/clearing my config directory.

I'll keep trying to reproduce it for my own sanity, but I'm closing this as
RESOLVED:WORKSFORME. If I ever figure out exactly what caused the weird
behavior, I'll test under multiple platforms and will open a new report with a
see-also to this one.

Thanks for the QA work and sorry for the wasted time.

This is neither an enhancement request nor a bug report, but a support request.
Please use a forum or mailing list for these kind of questions.

Furthermore the question is not clear. What kind of "variable"? What kind of
"creating", via macro, via UI? What is the exact situation of "when create"?

You can use a Basic macro and the Basic IDE to examine the shape, and you can
save the document in flat file format and look at the stored values with an
editor.

The status of this issue is surely not "NEW".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106116] New: Math hangs by repeated Shift+F4 ("Edit" > " Previous Marker")

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106116

Bug ID: 106116
Summary: Math hangs by repeated Shift+F4 ("Edit" > "Previous
Marker")
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@fixedpoint.jp

Description:
When the cursor in the editor pane precedes any placeholder marker "",
invoking command "Previous Marker" causes a hang.
Since successful "Previous Marker" makes the cursor move backward, repeating
Shift+F4 eventually reaches the state.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibO Math
2. Type "a"
3. Type Shift+F4

Actual Results:
It hangs.

Expected Results:
It does nothing.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106115] New: Mouse cursor moves to down the input line when going upwards the input line

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106115

Bug ID: 106115
Summary: Mouse cursor moves to down the input line when going
upwards the input line
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sub2...@eligeotravez.net

Description:
For clarification, the input line is the input field between the top toolbars
and the large area with the cells, where you can view or edit the content of
the currently selected cell.

Under certain circumstances, when you move the mouse cursor over the input line
going upwards, as soon as it exits the input line area the position resets to
where the mouse entered the input line from below. This doesn't happen if you
do it from top to bottom, only from bottom to top.

The effect is that when you try go move the cursor over the input line to the
tool icons or the main menu, the cursor continuously jumps from top to bottom
of the input line area.

Steps to Reproduce:
This problem usually happens after long usage of Calc. I've done lots of tries
since I use Calc very often but I can't seem to find the actions that make this
bug trigger.

Actual Results:
The mouse cursor is moved to the bottom of the input line.

Expected Results:
LibreOffice shouldn't move the mouse cursor at all when hovering over different
controls.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I think it's related to the mouse cursor change from the normal arrow to the
text input cursor. Calc somehow 'captures' the cursor state, not only the arrow
but also the position, and when exiting the input line, instead of just
restoring the arrow cursor, it also restores the position.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105981] Recently edited documents don' t show up on recent documents menu

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105981

No, it happens for many files. At first I thought it just always kept the
"save as" file and not the original in the recent files list, but then I tired
to do it backwards, editing the Accounts20170228.ods file and saving it as
Accounts2017.ods, but that didn't change anything. Still only the longer name
shows up in the recent files.
Today I tried clearing the recent file list, and it crashed LibreOffice. Then
it wouldn't start up any more. I re-installed LibreOffice and it's back to
where it was earlier today. Still not showing the correct recent files.

Maybe I'll try 5.3 if I get time later.

Thanks,

Mike

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106111] Text is cut in cells with line breaks in PDF export and printer output ( regression)

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I tried the old layout engine by the following instruction:
"Tools - Options - Advanced: Expert config. Paste in the search box and search
for: TextLayoutEngine Then click Edit and change it to old. Then restart
LibreOffice"

The exported PDF was overlapping the same way. So I am not sure if this is
related with the new layout engine.

I use:

Version: 5.2.5.1
Build ID: 0312e1a284a7d50ca85a365c316c7abbf20a4d22

Note that I use a HiDPI screen, so it might be slower than on a normal screen.
The slides are roughly displayed instantaneously, but then it takes several
seconds to refine the view.

Bug ID: 106113
Summary: EDITING: Text in cells has different vertical
alignment when being edited
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Description:
On Windows 7 text in all cells are bit lower, than vertical center. When cell
text is in edit mode, that text moves few pixels higher. After editing is done,
text returns to previous position, which is still off vertical center.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new spreadsheet.
2. Enter some text.

Actual Results:
Entered text is few pixels lower, than it should be. When editing, text is a
bit higher.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.3 release

OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Formula Editor
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Description:
Formulas are not formatted properly for vertical placement of certain
operators. For example: dot and ddot

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new formula in Writer or Impress
2. Attempt to use any operator with to and from modifiers
3. Use dot or ddot operators

Actual Results:
The dot and ddot operators place the dots too high above the character.
The to modifier places the symbol in the middle of the integral symbol, rather
than above it. Also, the spacing in the sidebar is distorted.

Expected Results:
dot and ddot symbols should be placed slightly above the base character. The to
modifier should be placed above the integral symbol.

Bug ID: 106111

  Reporter: norbert.n...@gmx.de

Text is cut in cells with line breaks in PDF export and printer output although
automatic column height (double-click) has been applied

Attached you find two screenshots. One of Calc at 100 % zoom level after
automatic column height has bee applied and another screenshot of the exported
PDF. You can see that in calc the text is not (but nearly) overlapping while it
is in the exported PDF (as well as when printed to paper).

Interesting is that when increasing the zoom level in the attached spreadsheet
in calc to 120 or 140 % the text begins to overlap, too.

The overlapping printer and PDF output although auto height has been applied
seems to be a regression that I haven't seen before using 5.3 builds (whereas
the issue with cells and its text contents not zooming equally is an old
issue).

Might be related to Bug 105860.

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Yes, I noticed I was a bit behind in updating while filing the bug report. I
updated to last stable 5.2.5.1 (I've had a few probs with fresh releases so I
stick to stable ones), reproduced the bug again, and added a sample text.

I changed the version number and the status to unconfirmed until someone else
can reproduce the bug.

Note that the bug only triggers when pasting the text from the clipboard, not
when importing from a file, which I find weird.

Sample file containing UTF-8 text with CRLF newlines

To trigger the bug correctly, open this file with a text editor capable of
maintaining both the UTF-8 encoding and the CRLF newline style. Copy the
contents and paste them into any Calc cell to open the text import window. You
can also see the difference in encoding detection if you try to open the file
from Calc, and you see the text import window but with the data coming from a
file instead of from the clipboard.

Hi, I believe you have to do it like this:
docker pull libreoffice/online:master

See:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106100] presentation with svgs mangled in >= 5.2

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106100

The SVG image do not have width and height set. So what size is correct for
such an image?

The current solution is, that the whole content is shown and the bounding box
is expanded to the ratio given by the viewBox.

That was different before the patch. The old solution produced the errors
described in bug 97538.

If you generate a new document with a current LO version, you will have no
problems with the SVG images.

The attached document shows the images different, because the crop values do
not fit to the now used size of the image. You can adapt the document by
setting new values in the crop image dialog. It seems to me, that you can set
the crop margins to 0cm after you have set the scaling to reasonable values.

I do not know, whether it is possible at all to fix bug 97538 and the problem
here in a combined solution.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106110] New: UTF-8 text import incorrectly detected as UTF-16 if linebreaks are CRLF

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106110

Bug ID: 106110
Summary: UTF-8 text import incorrectly detected as UTF-16 if
linebreaks are CRLF
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sub2...@eligeotravez.net

Description:
When pasting UTF-8 external simple text into Calc, if the text has linebreaks
as Windows-style newlines CR+LF (0x0D0A), the text is incorrectly detected as
UTF-16.

If the character encoding is manually set to UTF-8, then Calc inserts an empty
line after every line.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Generate some text in any text application where you can be sure that
newlines are Windows-style CRLF, and that the encoding is UTF-8, e.g. Notepad++
2. Copy that text, ensuring it has several lines.
3. Paste it over any Calc cell, to open the text import window.
4. Notice the character encoding detected by Calc is UTF-16, not UTF-8.
5. Change the encoding to the correct UTF-8.
6. See how in the preview every even row is empty.

Actual Results:
If you don't touch anything and the text doesn't include any UTF-8 character
combinations which translate to an UTF-16 character, nothing happens. However
until I noticed this problem, sometimes I had strange characters in my text
imports, which might have been caused by this problem. I can't provide any
specific text string to trigger that problem but I am pretty sure it exists.

Expected Results:
The text should correctly be detected as UTF-8 to avoid potential problems, and
when doing so, the CRLF combination shouldn't be interpreted as two consecutive
newlines.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This bug is not triggered when opening a file with the same text, UTF-8 with
CRLF.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105992] New layout engine does not support “kern” table

2017-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105992

There are two ways to store kerning in TrueType fonts.

* The old way using a separate “kern” table
(https://www.microsoft.com/typography/otspec/kern.htm), which predates OpenType
and has many limitations and (for all practical purposes) is deprecated. This
is the one not supported by HarfBuzz internal font functions and what old
versions of the font has.

* The new way of using PairPos lookups inside GPOS table
(https://www.microsoft.com/typography/otspec/gpos.htm#PP), which is the
OpenType way, fully supported by HarfBuzz and used by the newer versions of the
font.

The slide sorter takes ~10 times more time to display than the sorter in MS

I provide an example pptx file on which I did the comparison but I think this
is a pretty general behavior.
This is uncomfortable and I hope it can be improved in the future.

Doh, I confused "3.5" with "5.3". If you really reproduced this with 3.5, then
it seems I'm very clearly wrong, because that's from 2012, and therefore this
is not a recent (last year or so) regression.

Just a note: I could now reproduce the problem in 5.4 by using "Attributes"

Well, here are the old versions:

Instructions for parallel installs:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux

However, as the problem is already in 3.5, the regression cannot be bisected

stop at 3.5.
