[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107348] New: Pasting transpose of filtered data pastes unfiltered data

2017-04-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107348

Bug ID: 107348
Summary: Pasting transpose of filtered data pastes unfiltered
data
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mohith.ma...@skanray.com

Created attachment 132745
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=132745=edit
Paste transpose of filtered data

1. Assume there is a table of data with auto-filter turned ON.
2. The table is then filtered based on a specific key.
3. The filtered table is copied.
4.a. Clipboard is pasted (into same or another ODS file) with only value and
transpose option UNCHECKED.
4.b. Clipboard is pasted (into same of another ODS file) with only value and
transpose option CHECKED.

Expectation
Both steps 4.a and 4.b should result in the filtered data only getting pasted.

Actual result
1. At step 4.a the filtered data only is pasted (as expected).
2. At step 4.b the entire data is pasted (while transposing it of course)!

Wasnt really asking for an explanation, was looking for what you wanted to have
the mnemonic accelerators on?

What about border style and anchor? Alignment commands are currently broken in
writer (bug 107342) and dont think they are that crucial in the toolbar, when
they are in the context menu. Similar to other context sections, shouldnt there
be a Shape styles large button?

Entering or leaving any of the MUFFIN configurations is still going to need the
main menu--not providing easy access to it when hidden will just frustrate
users. No problem with hiding it (although exposing it is the first thing I do
with the tabbed Notebookbar) but it should not then be a hassle to unhide it to
move to another GUI configuration.

So keep it simple and consistent, F10 toggles a hidden main menu open and lands
on it at its normal File menu. Then an F6 to advance into the Notebook bar (or
other MUFFIN layout) or use an appropriate short-cut/accelerator as defined.

What would be the purpose of exposing the main menu bar when all commands in it
are available the Notebookbar? I would believe very few users using the tabbed
Notebookbar would also choose to enable the menu bar.

> But I take your point that with the Tabbed Notebookbar now hiding

The point i wanted to get across is that the tabs of the Notebookbar are
equivalent to the main categories of the main menu. The hamburger menu might be
exposed at the end of the cycle, but wouldnt think to put it as the starting
place of F10.

Think we are limited to what GTK Glade provides in styling the widgets--and

No confusion--MUFFIN is generic to the new Glade UI interfaces extending the
GUI--they need to be fully functional for keyboard navigation.

Accelerators are more "dynamic" mod-key bound, with l10n auto-assignment
frequently used. While short-cuts are more static and use a mix of the mod-keys
, , and the keys.

Shortcuts would be appropriate for some controls in the various Notebookbar
configurations, and probably kept consistent with those controls in the other
MUFFIN layouts.

When to assign a short-cut rather than an mnemonic accelerator?--flexible but
likely just the top level actions across the GUI.

Sorry, but in using the Notebookbar (or presumably any other MUFFIN assemblage
that hides the main menu) exposing the main menu without fuss is desirable. But
I take your point that with the Tabbed Notebookbar now hiding the main menu by
default, one would want to be on the "hamburger" configuration tab to expose
the main menu.

So some room for doing something clever--it just needs to be consistent across
all the GUI.

2017-04-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107346

Bug ID: 107346
Summary: Easily switch to keyboard shortcuts used by other
office suites
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org
Blocks: 98259, 102187

In order to make transitioning of users from other office suites to
LibreOffice, we can make it easy for such users to use the same keyboard
shortcuts from the other office suite.

This feature would be available in the Options dialog and utilize the already
existing code used in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc > Compatibility and
extend it to work with all modules and have multiple presets.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107345] New: Make Notebookbar tabs not look like real tabs

2017-04-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107345

Bug ID: 107345
Summary: Make Notebookbar tabs not look like real tabs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thomas.le...@gmail.com

The tabs of the tabbed Notebookbar variant look too much like the '90s styled
tabs in dialog windows.

Maybe a different look like in MSO Word 2013
(https://blog.cometdocs.com/wp-content/uploads/themes-in-word-2013.png) would
sex up the design. There only the selected tab is displayed as tabs. All other
tabs are only terms in a row.

Tabs in macOS only don't look like "tabs"

Maybe the rendering as intended by the OS (Windows, Gnome, etc.) is not the
only possible way for LibO to show this tabs.

This bug report was for the creation of the UNO command and thats been done, so
lets close this and deal with other issues in separate bug reports.

(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #16)
> F10 now directs focus (cursor and program) to the Main menu, extending its

I've filed bug 107343 to discuss this issue.

See bug 107344.

Better to repurpose this as a meta bug for all a11y issue for notebookbar and
open up individual issues for various issues that need to be resolved.

> We need additional keyboard accelerator navigation. Only supporting the
> *minimum* F6 cycling with movements for keyboard navigation is
> limiting the MUFFIN interfaces compared to Toolbar and Menus.

You seem to be confusing MUFFIN with Notebookbar quite a bit, as we have 4
MUFFIN interfaces (default, single, sidebar, notebookbar) and 3 Notebookbar
interfaces (tabbed, single, groups). Of these 7 interfaces, only 1 doesnt have
a menu bar - tabbed Notebookbar - so i would assume this issue would be limited
to it.

> We are going to need mnemonic accelerators, and maybe even some assigned
> shortcuts for the various Notebookbar GUI layout(s) to be comfortable for
> keyboard and a11y users.

Mnemonic accelerators for the tab? Not sure what you meant by 'shortcuts for
the various Notebookbar GUI layout(s)'.

> This in addition to finishing up work on bug 90195 an F10 shortcut for
> unhiding the main menu bar.

I've filed bug 107343 to handle that issue.

(In reply to Brian H from comment #0)
> Steps to replicate:
> Turn on Notebookbar
> Turn off Menubar
> Press Alt / Alt-F

I've filed bug 107344 to deal with the Alt key.

Similar to Alt providing users access to the menubar, when the menubar is
hidden in the tabbed Notebookbar, Alt could provide access to the Notebookbar
tabs.

Stuart has suggested that when the menu is hidden, F10 unhides it, as F10 is a
direct keyboard shortcut to immediately jump to the menu.

I think that if a user purposefully hides the menubar or the MUFFIN interface
defaults to hide the menubar, that F10 shouldnt unhide it. Instead, if the the
tabbed Notebookbar is enable, it should jump to the Home tab.

Inserted images in LibreOffice are center aligned and anchored To Paragraph,
which allows them to dragged anywhere around the page. While in MS Word, they
are anchored As Character, which limits it to be dragged only where text on the
page is, which is why it appears to be left aligned when you drag it.

Closing this as a duplicate of bug 87720, which is to decide what the default
formatting of inserted images should be.

Umm, which bug?

Otherwise, from crash report, system is Windows 7 sp1 64-bit en-US with Intel
G43 GPU and Intel driver 8.15.10.2302

At 5.3.2.2 we are getting the missing font rendering with the same GMA X4500
Intel GPU on Windows 10 bug 107114, and similar for AMD and Intel GPU on
Windows 7 with bug 107166

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107340] New: Undo label shows "Delete $1" after deleting text with Track Changes set

2017-04-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107340

Bug ID: 107340
Summary: Undo label shows "Delete $1" after deleting text with
Track Changes set
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com

Created attachment 132744
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=132744=edit
Screenshot of the problem

1, Open a new document, enter some text
2, Enable Track Changes
3, Delete a word from the text
4, Observe that in the undo list it says "Delete $1"

After turning off the change tracking it correctly says "Delete foo" for
freshly deleted "foo" string as seen on the attachment: "wall" was deleted
after turning off change tracking, "Could" was deleted with change tracking

@Jay, Syzmon, Samuel, *

Repurposing this rather than reopening bug 102059

We need additional keyboard accelerator navigation. Only supporting the
*minimum* F6 cycling with movements for keyboard navigation is limiting
the MUFFIN interfaces compared to Toolbar and Menus.

We are going to need mnemonic accelerators, and maybe even some assigned
shortcuts for the various Notebookbar GUI layout(s) to be comfortable for
keyboard and a11y users.

This in addition to finishing up work on bug 90195 an F10 shortcut for unhiding
the main menu bar.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107314] Galaxy Icon Set: Inconsistency of icon

2017-04-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107314

Regina Henschel changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW
 CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de
Version|5.3.2.1 rc |5.2.0.0.alpha0+
 Ever confirmed|0 |1

Yes, there is inconsistency. The large icons are not similar to the small
icons.
We have
for "Insert Image" = .uno:InsertGraphic
large is a "beach photo" | small is "group of rectangle, circle, triangle"

for "Show Draw Functions" = .uno:InsertDraw
large is "group of rectangle, circle, triangle" | small is "pen"

The problem was introduced from version 5.1.6 to 5.2.

The large icon of .uno:InsertDraw was changed, but the small one not.

Suggestion: Retrieve the large "Pen"-icon for .uno:InsertDraw from version
5.1.6.

Same problem for the large icon of .uno:InsertGraphic. From version 5.1.6 to
5.2 the large icon was changed from "group of rectangle, circle, triangle" to
"beach photo", but the small icon was not changed and is still "group of
rectangle, circle, triangle".

The "beach photo" is actually the icon of .uno:GraphicFilterPoster. It is not
by itself bad, to use the same icon. Her is bad, that only the large icon was
changed. So either make both sizes "beach photo" or both sizes "group of
rectangle, circle, triangle". I have no preference for one or the other,
because "group of rectangle, circle, triangle" was longer used, but "beach
photo" is more suitable for insert image.

In Adobe InDesign you select insert the cursor in the paragraph:

- Click the style name, applies the paragraph style, and leaves any direct
formatting

OR

- Control+Click the style name, applies the paragraph style, and removes all
direct formatting

Very simple to learn and to use.

This is a bit tricky.

- Issue 1: yes, I noticed that as well, it's an issue.

- Issue 2: it seems to work the same way as in LibreOffice, eg. first you
select the color, then mark a piece of text, and it gets colored/highlighted.

Actually, at least in LO 5.3.2.2 text and highlight color selectors behave
slightly differently, if you select text color from the picker, you can type
with that color, but with the highlight color picker you always have to select
the text afterwards (or beforehand).

Actually #2, the mouse pointer should change to a bucket like it does in
LibreOffice.

- Issue 3: this comes from how the coloring works, since you're supposed to
select the text at this point, the (slightly different) caret follows the mouse
pointer (same as in LO).

So some fixes would be needed here to make using colors behave similarly to LO.
At the same time I hope the general behavior makes more sense now.

Hello MiguelAnge,

I really want to use any of those file formats ots, ods, xls. My files should be
converted at any time.

Then I can do treatment for those files, with OpenOffice, LibreOffice And
MicrosoftOffice whatever. I'm free to choose my application, and i am not
afraid about it. I will do it without a problem!

Test with 5.2.6 on Windows Vista.

Confirmed when a *database* range is created. (Data > Define range)

Works when a *named range* is created whith Insert > Named expression or range.

I'm not sure this is the normal behavior...

No, just install the fonts to your system. Just be sure they are
OpenType(.otf), TrueType(.ttf) or Graphite fonts. Older PostScript Type1 and
