As Oliver mentioned in comment 8, each control has two parts. The first is a
fallback WMF image for apps that arent able to handle the actual ActiveX
control and this is what LibreOffice is displaying and the second is the
ActiveX control that 


  


  





  


And you can see the relationship IDs for these parts in the
/word/_rels/document.xml.rels file

This workaround is not acceptable to me.

Draw should follow this general principle:

When the user types something while not looking at the screen,
the program must interpret the key sequence as-is.

This means that at least, when automatically inserting a zero, this zero must
be selected so that when I type a 7 later, it is overwritten.

So here is the modified version of attachment 133321 with variations of the
various form controls. Exporting it to .docx showed the same result, though it
did show that some properties that could be translated over in combobox and
date field werent being exported, like whether it was disabled or the date
format.

I can confirm that this bug still exists in LO 5.3.3.2, using the dark Adwaita
theme in GNOME.  The text input background for the Formula editor in LO Writer
is dark gray and the text is black, making it almost impossible to read.

Hello,

Using GTK3 Breeze:Dark, elements on dialog boxes are not themed to show focus
except for textboxes where you input strings - they are shown with blue
borders. Because of that moving among elements with tab key is not possible.

I am using KDE Plasma 5.9.4

Hello,

Pressing Ctrl changes paragraph text direction. It does so even in combinations
before keying in the next keypress such as in Ctrl+Shift. Saving the document
suppresses the anomaly for some time until it reappears.

I'm currently working on adding four new sheet protection options for Calc. 
They conditionally support:

* insert columns.
* insert rows.
* delete columns.
* delete rows.

over unprotected cells on a protected sheet, provided that the sheet protection
options specifically enable one or more of these options.

I just updated to version 5.3.3.2. Tried both with and without safe mode, using
the default options in the safe mode dialog. No change.

Incidentally, I've also been using a fresh new user profile for the last few

dialog vs sidebar mockup

So here is a mockup showing both the dialog and sidebar versions next to each
other. Instead of the large 'Not in dictionary' multiline text field found in
the dialog, a simple read-only text field will display the currently mispelt
word and the same word would be highlighted within the document.

6 of the 9 buttons in the sidebar already have uno commands and 2 others are
awaiting uno commands to be created for them (bug 98441).

I try to change BASIC script in  XLS file (created in original MS app. system

Not possible to save XML after edit

After I edit the attached file, and try to save it, it says: "Error when trying
to save text_ui_news document: Error: Writing error. Not possible to write the
file." (I'm using Hungarian language, so I translated the error message the
best I could).

I tried a lot of previous versions of LibreOffice, stable and beta, still the
same problem.
Turned off antivirus, UAC, I'm the only user. File is not write protected.

If I use Microsoft Excel, instead of LibreOffice, there is no problem when
saving the file after edit.

Currently we have many methods that do an explicit:

VclPtr aDev = VclPtr::Create(...);

aDev.disposeAndClear();


This construct is not exception safe and can easily introduce GDI leaks with
new return paths. For these cases we actually have ScopedVclPtrInstance which
automatically calls dispose when the object out of scope.

This task is about going through the list returned by git grep
VclPtr::Create and transform the ones that call the
disposeAndClear inside of the same method to a ScopedVclPtrInstance.

An example that shows where this can be done is

Note that if you wait between deleting the last digit before the decimal
separator (which leaves input field as ,xx) and typing another digit, a 0 is
prepended to form the input value 0,xx; then typing a 7 yields 70,xx that is an
X offset too large to position the object, hence gets adjusted to the maximum
positionable offset, in your case 38,00

To prevent premature positioning of 0,xx you can either select the digit you
want to replace (i.e. 5) and then type the digit you want, or if the 0 was
already prepended delete it and it will not be prepended again.

Description:
When editing the properties of a drawing object, I want to type numbers like in
other text fields. Instead of letting me edit my numbers, Draw automatically
"corrects" them on the fly, leading to wrong numbers.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new drawing document.
2. Add a rectangle, approximately 5 times 5 cm.
3. Open the properties, focus the X position, place the cursor at the very
left.
4. Delete the digit before the comma, wait a bit.
5. Type the number 7.

Actual Results:  
The X position of the rectangle is now 38.00 cm, although I neither typed a 3
nor an 8.

Expected Results:
The X position of the rectangle is now 7.xy cm.

Additional Info:
Because of Draw's behavior of getting into my way, I cannot edit my document as
I want, since I constantly need to re-check on the screen whether Draw still
does what I want or whether it disturbs me.

Description:
When I define a rectangle to be 2cm times 2cm, I expect it to have exactly this
size, at least to a precision of 10 decimal digits. Nevertheless, Draw gets the
third digit of the size wrong, showing 2.01 cm instead.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new document.
2. Draw a rectangle, set its width and height to "2 cm".
3. Click outside the rectangle
4. Click on the rectangle

Actual Results:  
The width and height is displayed as "2.01 cm".

Expected Results:
The width and height is displayed as "2.00 cm".

Presently if you open up the Compress Image dialog, it always defaults to JPEG
Quality compression, but it should be smarter and default to PNG Compression if
the image's format is a lossless format like png and gif.

Presently its not an easy task to compress or resize all images in a document,
as a user has to do it manually for each image, so i'm proposing we add
checkboxes in the Compress Image dialog to apply the same compression and/or
resolution settings to either all images of the same type or all document
images.

Description:
Would it be possible to have a shortcut that when a new image is inserted into
a page it can be automatically shrunk/expanded to fit to margin while keeping
original aspect ratio?

Currently there is no way to scale images to fit to page margins and keep the
same image ratio without manually entering either image size once checked
against page size, or manually adjusting image by selection and dragging
corners by hand. This is very labour-intensive when adding many images of
different sizes to a document.

1. Insert image, right click properties, crop, manually enter numbers adjusting
percentage size.

2. Or, right click image, Left click image to select and then drag corners.
This is the slowest way.

I see very similar behavior to Jim DelaHunt's. I didn't track down all the
details, but on ElCap with LO 5.3.3.2, I get the menubar icon for an extension
upgrade. If I click on it, the upgrade window takes a while to open, then stays
blank for minutes. Meanwhile LO takes up to 100% cpu and while it will respond
to a quit by closing any document windows, it locks up and requires a
force-quit.

What apparently missing from this patch is marking ooSetupFactoryUIName as
oor:localized="true" in the schema
(officecfg/registry/schema/org/openoffice/Setup.xcs). I did it locally in a
5.3.3.2 installation (in share/registry/main.xcd), and the bug disappeared.

But I wonder: Will it be OK to have only part of ooSetupFactoryUIName marked
with xml:lang="en-US", like we have now? In other words: Can a missing
xml:lang="en-US" in an otherwise localizable property have any bad impact on
something in configmgr, or it's only used by l10n tools?

Andras: Do you have any idea?

You know there is an insert image button in the toolbar right? :D

Yes if optimization was disabled in the document, you could then enable it in
the file properties dialog and then save the document and then all images would
be optimized at that time.

Yes 300, 220, 200, 150 and 96 would be available options.

Also Ctrl-X (cut) in Base won't clear a list-box.  Del won't clear it.  Nothing
on the keyboard will clear it.

(For that matter Ctrl-C and Ctrl-P (copy and paste) also doesn't work with a
list-box, they should.  It is painful that they don't work to anyone trying to
use Base.)


This is the one place that Base differs from Calc, Writer, etc. in the most
simple editing tasks.


The bottom line is that a list-box needs a keyboard way of deleting the entry.

I drag and drop files to insert, so I'm one of the users affected by this
change. In this case, we should not silently resize or recompress images until

* The user has explicitly asked for it with a manual compress
* We have notified the user with a popup or overlay
* Or the user saves the document. 

For non-professionals, resizing and recompressing high DPI images automatically
as long as it's not done without the user's knowledge is a good idea.  My
concern has always been that we must take care to not do this without the
user’s knowledge. This is only fair to the users because it is what they
expect. At least with all the software I’m familiar with, destructive edits
always occur at save time or when explicitly requested.

Good Q about the missing Mac Del key.

And this mac missing Del key issue is not new, and LO already deals with it.

All special keys on the mac need to be dealt with differently than for a pc.  

This is not a LO issue, it is a mac/pc issue.  

All programs that operate on both platforms have to remap key functionality
between these platforms.

Some macs apparently do have a delete key usable with fn-delete.

Yes that would be for internal use as a child thing for table styles but
wouldnt be an independent thing for users to assign to cells, so would it be
easy to disable it from appearing there.

There was no fix in the past, so I don't get what you are talking about.

I thought to try and bibisect it, but unfortunately I cannot reproduce it in
Ubuntu 16.04 with various 5.2-5.3 versions. I tried VCL backends gtk, gen,
x11.. no problem.

I still see the problem with Arch Linux, but I can't bibisect with Arch.

With a Suse SLED12-SP1 with libreoffice 5.1.2 installed, the last l10n package
you install changes the window title for libreoffice base.

Setup:
- SLED12-SP1 (Same problem with Suse SLES12-SP1 or OpenSuse Leap42.2)
- Libreoffice-base installed
- Locale set to en_US (POSIX)

Steps:
- install some libreoffice l10n (in suse,  zypper install libreoffice-l10n-ar)
- Open libreoffice base
- Create a new database (just follow next-next wizard)
- Inside the new database, create a new table (just next-next wizard)
- Open the new table
- Check the window title

Expected result:
- Window title should stay in the system locale

Obtained result:
- Window title changes to last installed l10n package

Obs: 
- This behaviour only occours on libreoffice base. The original text on the
title says "Table Data View".
- Openoffice maintainers from Suse asked to open a ticket here, because it does
not appear to be related to Suse packaging.

It's a very annoying behaviour of writer. To reproduce this open a document,
make a modification, continue reading. If you save the document, the focus
moves to cursor position. In documents of several pages, is common to lose
reading position, moving to cursor position when saving the document or
hiding/showing changes. In my case, I have to correct  large documents, and
when click on Save, writer moves my reading focus one o two pages up, losing a
lot of time searching it again.

Opening this in LO shows as if nothing is exported, but opening it in Word 2010
showed that the combobox and date fields were exported.

I have been working on batch replacing graphics with AltSearch, but the results
were poor as not all graphics were replaced and the first one was misplaced and
its frame and caption removed. I got in touch with the developer of Alt Search
about this. As for "Change picture", this extension is able to change only one
picture at a time, the one that you have selected.

There is clearly cell styles family that was introduced in the last table style
GSoc project. In particular it comes from https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/25896/
(and several other commits). But I know nothing about it.

Those fonts are bundled. If they were removed during install you now have a
bad/incomplete installation.

First, check the .MSI install package size against the HASH value listed in the
"details" MirrorBrain meta file for the build [1]. That will assure you the
package is complete.

Then, do a complete uninstall of LibreOffice. And check that the LibreOffice
provided fonts [2] are all gone (the LO uninstaller should remove them when the
ref-count reduces to 0).

Reboot.

Perform a fresh installation of LibreOffice, I'd suggest you capture an
installation log--so the install must be from a command window.

Use the command:

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.3.3.2_Win_x64.msi /L*v install5332log.txt

Check the result, look at the installed fonts and run LibreOffice. If still
issues, please ZIP the install log and attach it to this bug.  If all is good
please close as WORKSFORME or INVALID

I have the driver updated from Lenovo, updated again now with a Lenovo update

For OP, for clarification you are asking for capability to use a single graphic
(held on clipboard)--but I would assume by selection as well--to replace all
graphics/frames on document canvas?

And, you'd like interface via the "Find & Replace" dialog.

Seems feasible. But the existing Find can not target an image directly at the
moment. Something is already in works for LibreOffice with bug 100672 to add a
Special category, that could be extended to include "graphic" objects--icons,
bitmaps, vector images, etc.. 

Otherwise this has been fertile ground for Extension with the like of "Alt
Search" and "Change Picture" both able to target an image for replacement. 

But the search logic for the graphics would have to be figured out for
consistent use in the core Find & Replace dialog.

Initially I liked the idea of cell styles in addition to whole table styles in
all programs except Calc (where a pendant to table styles is missing :-p). But
I think that this would make it too complex for normal users?
