I agree, at least this, but would not be better to create a simple way to
create your own themes/personas? Even without an UI.You need only two images
and probably a simple xml-file. I dont know exactly. I mean LO should not
depend on Firefox.

Confirmed on Windows XP, LO 5.3.3.2 Spanish strings in German UI, also in
German offline-help. I checked now again and it is OK. I mean it the problem
is, I installed several offline-helps, probably the problem is the order of
installation of the help files, but I am not sure. I dont get why the menu is
now OK. If I remember correctly, I reinstalled the German help-file. My Windows

* Activate "overwrite" mode
* Overwrite the whole (ex, using "X"), passing over the footnote, so that the
text looks like: "XX¹XXGHI"
* Press "Cancel" once ==> cursor move to the character "X" before the footnote
(and footnote is wrongly removed)

working
   Product: LibreOffice Online
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: callmede...@gmail.com

Only for Calc and Impress -

Expandable option is currently not working while using the 'find' feature,
without it we cannot enable searching as the user types.

Lets say we have a document with text 'aa' at multiple places.
Ideally, if we are searching as user types each character, the selection should
expand.
As in here if the user types 'a' in the search box, the first character should
get selected, when he changes the query to 'aa', the selection should expand to
include the first two characters, and not jump to another occurrence.

*For Impress, the problem exists only in files with multiple slides.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104001] Text wrapping in writer on Linux is different to on Windows

2017-06-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104001

--- Comment #6 from Ernest Bywater  ---
(In reply to Buovjaga from comment #5)
> Ok, thanks. Yep, it would be hard to investigate the Palatino font issue
> because it is a proprietary font and cannot be distributed for free! If you
> can reproduce it with some free font, you can create a new issue.

The main reason I use Palatino Linotype is because it presents well in a
printed 6 x 9 inch book format and 'seems' to display the same in both Linux
and Windows. Although i used to regularly use a Win 7 system, now I rarely do,
and have to make special arrangements to do so - thus the delay in giving my
last response. I'm not familiar with what fonts come in a standard Windows
installation that would also be the same in a standard Linux installation, so I
don't know what font I can convert a document to so I can do a comparison.

I do know that the Windows fonts I used to use, like Time New Roman and
Courier, are very similar to, but not exactly the same as the Linux
equivalents. If you can tell me of a font that's free to use in both and either
in the standard installation or easy to get, I can do tests with that.

...

Some background on why I lodged this in the first place.

I've been using Libre Office on both Linux and Windows systems for many years,
I think the first version I used was LO 3 something - I can't remember that far
back too well. I was using Open Office before that. I gave up on using MS Word
when I had to upgrade from Win XP with Word 6a. After looking at costs and
trying out the latest crappy Windows and Word offerings I built a Linux system
using Ubuntu, and have since moved onto using Zorin Linux. However, I spent a
lot of time at another place doing volunteer working keeping an eye things and
using their Windows XP, and later Windows 7 systems to work on my stories. They
let me load first Open Office and then Libre Office on the system there.

The stories and files opened exactly the same on both system until I upgraded
to LO 5.2.2.2 on both systems, and then experienced the problem I raised this
bug about. I dealt with the issue by adjusting some of the page settings and
revising some of the wording to make the text fall back into nice pages again.
However, about 5 months back I ceased working where I used the Win 7 system, so
it ceased to be an issue for me, and that's why I have issues checking things
on a Win 7 system now.

It no longer affects me, and it appears to be resolved (as best as i can tell).
But I don't know enough to be sure because it in a 50,000 word document it
still affected two pages where a single paragraph ran over 600 words and it
pushed one or two short words over onto a new line to create a re-pagination
and a very odd looking orphan. I suspect the issue may be related to the way
the font spacing is in Windows, but can't prove if it is or isn't - I just
don't have the training to go further with it.

--- Comment #15 from Gerhard Weydt  ---
In comment #11 Tibor kovács suggested another way to set the paragraph
background colour, via a paragraph style. I have used this (already sketched in
comment 13) now in my extension DCM, where changing background colour was
temporarily disabled because of this bug. Many thanks to Tibor, Butch will
certainly agree, see comment #14.
The workaround is using two crutches, namely creating a style and then undoing
ist, and setting the background colour via the dispatcher, so the urgency of
working on the bug is not decreased by it!
I therefore - and because of the statement cited in comment #12, with which I
totally agree and am sorry that I didn't find the right word then - changed the
title to a more general meaning.

every thing work "fine", simply "normal view" action is bind to different thing
that button in menu.

Using macro recording I find that "view->normal" action call:

```
dispatcher.executeDispatch(document, ".uno:PageMode", "", 0, Array())
```

but button in menu call:

```
dispatcher.executeDispatch(document, ".uno:NormalMultiPaneGUI", "", 0, Array())
```

This give us one workaround, simply crate macro that call correct action for
you:

```
sub Main
rem --
rem define variables
dim document   as object
dim dispatcher as object
rem --
rem get access to the document
document   = ThisComponent.CurrentController.Frame
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108434] writer and base bugs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108434
--- Comment #2 from William Signer  ---
HI-
My LibreOffice was 5.2.7
I downloaded LibreOffice 5.3.3.2and tested for the problems that I described in
my original bug report and the same problems still exist.
The Writer dash line problem can only be removed with the format menu clear
direct formatting choice. You cannot delete the dash line by highlighting the
 dash and selecting delete in the right click context menu
The Base table creating problems till exist and are very serious.
In the table creation wizard, you cannot rearrange the table column names
easily or insert a blank table column in the column list the insert always
occurs at the end.
I can do all of this easily in MS-Access table creation.
Keep me informed if you can correct the problems I have described.
Thanks for your help in this matter!
Take Care!
Please try with 5.4.0.0.beta1 or later, this should be fixed now.
The cause is that in XML 1.0 control characters except carriage return, line
feed and horizontal tab are not allowed, not even as entities. OOXML
circumvents that by escaping them to _x, which LibreOffice 5.4 implements.
I bisected the GTK3 regression in the bibisect-5.3 repository.
It would be very helpful if someone could try to fix this as it currently
prevents screen reader users from using Calc on Linux.
Graphical mockup depicting desired result.
Hi Jacques,
Unfortunately, this does not solve my problem. I do not want the entire
document in multiple columns, I want a specific section of the footnotes in
multiple columns.
To better illustrate my desired outcome, I have attached a graphical mockup of
the effect I wish to achieve. Again, it is not currently possible to achieve
this effect, because of the bug in question: the portion of the mockup in red
text is the portion which cannot currently be achieved. I will in a subsequent
attachment include this document as it actually exists, to illustrate the
difference between the desired outcome and the actual outcome.
Using sections to format a portion of the document in multiple columns works
elsewhere in the document, as I have illustrated in my attachment, just not in
the footnotes.
Furthermore, even if allowing a section within the footnotes to be in multiple
columns is not meant to be a supported feature (in which case I would certainly
argue it should be, but setting that aside), a bug still exists, as the program
*says* the section is in multiple columns, when it is not actually formatted as
such.
You have to zoom in to about 1000% before you start feeling the effects.
I sped up my callgrinding by double clicking the zoom percentage, which opens
up a dialog, then I input 1000%, applied and scrolled some more.
2017-06-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108573
Bug ID: 108573
   Summary: EDITING: No 'preview' while moving complex drawing
object
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl
Description:
Based on bug 104716#c29. Draw isn't giving any feedback while moving a very
complex drawing. I expect it to be caused by the high quality rendering while
moving the object.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment 133327
2. Click the top left image and hold
3. Drag it around (the image isn't follow the mouse until you let the mouse go
or moves very, very slowly)
Actual Results:
Dragging is slow and isn't giving any feedback
Expected Results:
Some feedback while moving the object
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
--- Comment #19 from vi...@viric.name ---
I can reproduce the render of separator over the footnotes text in libreoffice
5.2.5.1, exporting to PDF.
In my case I think it is bound to the widow and orphan lines (I set it to 3
each) and mix of paragraph styles in every page; in a 200 page document with
footnotes in each page, maybe 5% of the pages have the separator painted over
the text.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108572] New: Mail merge: embedded database isn' t properly discarded when working with MS Office starting documents
2017-06-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108572
Bug ID: 108572
   Summary: Mail merge: embedded database isn't properly discarded
when working with MS Office starting documents
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.beta2
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu
Created attachment 134067
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=134067=edit
Sample starting document (DOCX)
Attaching an overly simplistic sample mail merge starting document (DOCX) and
address list (ODS, but format doesn't matter), but the behavior is independent
of the content.
- Open the starting document (DOCX).
- Start mail merge wizard.
- Jump to step 3. Insert address block, open Select Address List... and after
clicking Add..., select the address list spreadsheet. Click OK in the dialog.
- Cancel mail merge wizard, and close Writer without saving anything.
- Restart LibreOffice, and check databases in Tools -> Options...; LibreOffice
Base -> Databases.
=> There is a database with the address list spreadsheet file name ("data
source" in the sample), and something like this for database file:
"vnd.sun.star.pkg://file:%2F%2F%2FD:%2Fbug%2Fmm%20document.docx/EmbeddedDatabase"
Note that no such entry remains if the starting document is an ODT.
While nothing was saved in this case, the same thing happens if the document is
saved as DOCX/DOC, as embedded database doesn't get saved in MS Office formats,
yet the database remains in the list afterwards.
It would be great if defunct embedded database entries were removed on start in
general (a crash with the file open could leave one even in case of ODTs).
Observed using LO 5.4beta2 / Windows 7.
Yes i guess you are right.
Templates are pulled from multiple folders, by default 3 folders on my system,
so you cant really use relative paths.
Yes i understand the idea, so i'm guessing it would need to be saved in the
user profile, but not sure you could have a clickable star icon in a grid view.
Since I wasn't in the survey, let me give an opinion. Current margins look OK
for general use.
Personally, for the sake of saving space or Mottainai, I use even  smaller
margins top and bottom but there's a memo template. Saying because who needs
different will create template.
Related to issue in Bug 33304.
In this bug, I didn't see there will be change, so I can't see why it's still
open. WFM.
 is quite common to cancel the last action, like closing an open a dialog,
No, these are two totally different bugs, even though about the same document.
This one is about incorrect table horizontal position, other one about
incorrect vertical alignment for text in table.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107338] Splash screen progress bar is flickering and progress is starting three times after resetting setting in safe mode
2017-06-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
--- Comment #4 from Telesto  ---
(In reply to Samuel Mehrbrodt (CIB) from comment #3)
> Does the same happen when you start LO for the first time (try
> moving/deleting your user profile)?
No, its only happening going to and exiting from save mode. It's (seems to be)
only noticeable with extensions (dictionary's).
Scenario 1
1.Open Libreoffice
2.Select Help -> Restart in safe mode--> Splash Screen is reappearing three
times. Last one is only a flash. First two take a while; seems to load
everything twice
Scenario 2
3 Restart from Safe mode to Normal Mode -> Splash Screen opening twice and but
second time seems faster
Scenario 3
1. Open Libreoffice
2. Select Help -> Restart in safe mode
3. Select reset to factory settings (with both check-boxes checked)
Splash Screen is reappearing four times. Last one is only a flash. First three
take a while; seems to load everything three times
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87902] Default page margins
2017-06-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87902
--- Comment #17 from V Stuart Foote  ---
>From dupe bug 49529, very different issues when setting a single page (e.g.
non-bound) electronic document compared to something intended to be edge bound.
Frankly in modern use, most of the moveable type "cannons" [1] are nonsense,
but can be implemented with document templates if needed/preferred for bound
layouts.
The "Double-Circle" single-page cannon [2] has merit for preparing new defaults
based on locale.
But as most publication styles (i.e. CSL) specify specific page size and
corresponding margins for submission--our existing defaults--A4/2cm and
Letter/.79in--are acceptable to vast majority of LO users. Others with more
specialized needs should be preparing templates.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90468] WRITER: Switching status bar view modes between Single, Multiple-page, or Book View is not positioning canvas to active text cursor when redrawn
2017-06-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90468
--- Comment #8 from mtks+3...@rbox.co ---
I can confirm this still exists and can be reproduced as V Stuart Foote
describes. I'm not sure if it is a duplicate but it seems connected to Bug
40105 in which changing between "Web" and "Normal" views likewise produces a
change in the document focus. The expected behavior is that any change in view
remains anchored to the location of the cursor or some part of the document
that is visible at time of view change.
