Everyone can reproduce with standalone player (projector) although you have no
Flash Player plugin for web browsers, which available on Adobe  Flash Player

Description:
Since today Writer just crashes on startup without any information. There was
no version update in between. Core application works, other components
(impress, calc) as well. LibreOffice is on current version from repo (5.3.3.2),
but I purged it and tried to install current version from main ubuntustudio
repo (5.2.1), which also didn't work. Reseting user profile also don't fix it.
Starting --writer from terminal just sends usual gtk-errors. Safe-mode also
crashes. Also reinstalled all dependencies of libreoffice, libreoffice-core.
libreoffice writer with apt-cache.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start writer with new document
2. Start writer loading a document
3. Start writer from terminal
4. Purge and reinstall libreoffice including removing .config files and perform
step 1-3.
5. Start LO in safe-mode and perform step 1-3.

Actual Results:  
LibreOffice Writer just crashes without any information.

Expected Results:
Starting and letting me write my thesis.


Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes.

Additional Info:
Working on a 32-bit machine. OS is UbuntuStudio (xfce4.12) 17.04. Since last
working state I worked a lot trying to re-setup my audio studio (means messing
around with ardour, jack, alsa drivers), but cannot imagine that it affected
libreoffice. In between I installed gmusicbrowser, which installed some gnome
related dependencies, but removed nothing.

I did not find any log files of LibreOffice, but somewhere I read about
debugging with some backtrace stuff, which is by now far to high for me.

This can easily be tested by opening a document and not do anything for about
two and a half minutes. Make sure to not even scroll or change window focus.

Just place the cursor somewhere in the document and after that time it jumps
back to absolute home position.

My guess is that some default spacing values for frames/textboxes are not being
reset to zero during the conversion. Before, unnecessary values would have been
ignored, but as soon as AllowSpacingWithoutBorders exists (which set
frmtool.cxx::m_bBorderDist = true), then the entire frame shifted down. Thus,
both Miklos and my commits are basically unmasking the same error.

Spacing numbers are 142 for right/left and 71 for top/bottom. If that matches
defaults, that would validate my suspicions.

As I said, it's intermittant. Mine is working correctly right now. The one I
sent you was not... at that time. I just loaded it up again and now, It is
changed When I attempt to check the "Data Ranges" that's no longer there and
"Data Table" has taken it's place

I double-click on the table, right click, data table, modify any value, ok ->
the chart is updated.

Please provide a clearer set of step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce
the problem.

'UNCONFIRMED' once the steps are provided

In bug 106534, we created the new 'chart palettes' color palette, which
provides access to default chart colors in LO, and also access to default chart
palettes found in MS Office 2010 and 2013. So this bug report will continue on
with improvement of this new palette by adding additional chart palettes to the
palette.

This was announced on the mailing list[1] and there is a google drive folder[2]
for users who want to submit palettes for review and possible addition. To save
you time, please use the attached calc spreadsheet with a chart to create your
new palette with. The submitted palette can be 12 or 24 colors.

Indeed, I can't create a simple odb file HSQL Embedded with 2 fields:
"id" INTEGER (primary key)
"test" NUMERIC (length = 1 + no decimals)
in this case, length value is changed to 10

If I put length = 2, the value stays unchanged.

Do you know the reasons for this?

Description:
I've got 2 fresh installs of debian 9.0.1-i386-lxde 
one in a virtualbox and another on an old dell d400 laptop

on both the writer module wont start

the libre-office 5 logo apears, the red bar at the logo bottom sneaks till the
end and then nothing happens anymore

all other modules running well (calc, impress etc.)

i pushed my virtualbox from stable to testing but the result is the same

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open menu
2.go to office
3.select writer with left click

same result when starting in cli with "libreoffice --writer"

Actual Results:  
the libre-office 5 logo apears, the red bar at the logo bottom sneaks till the
end and then nothing happens anymore

start writer

DOCX-independent reproducer (ODT)

I think the root cause here is somewhere in Writer, not in the docx filter.
Reverting the bisected commit doesn't help here. Here is what I tried: if I
save the old import result in ODT, then that ODT is loaded fine in the parent
of the bisected commit (i.e. something between 5.2 and 5.3), but loading the
same ODT on master is broken. I *think* this is the root cause.

Bibisecting this breakage gives the
8f2dd1df1d6cc94ebbc1149de72bc6d6dffa6533..a6ce5d391476e4b6a2cb2d92ff45548c1d75684b
range, from which 5d9d0f3c979732ade57b9c4c4960dd030ffdc9f9 looks related.

It's not clear to me what is the problem, though. There was a follow-up fix of
that commit as 1427817a944f3cf1020b2f06a2ca934847b56ba8. Reverting both of
these commits locally build, but the bug does not go away.

But if you click at the end of the line or between the tags to the whitespace,

If you delete the field, how do you move the cursor to the starting < ?

2, On the third page enable address block, then push the More button.
3, In the Select Address Block window press Edit on any existing address block.

(Apparently this is possible, although it makes no sense to me.)
5, Once you reach the starting < with the cursor, LO crashes. On the terminal,

It's just a keybinding in LibreOffice.

It's in Tools>Customize>Keyboard>View>Menubar

When I go to "Insert Table > More Options > " I can leave this panel with
extremely huge values for "Columns" and "Rows" if I just hit "Enter"


workflow (incorrect)
- i come to the panel
- I enter 23456345435345 into the columns of rows field
- I press enter
- Writer now creates a table with this amount of rows or columns, which
basically drives the application useless as it is extremely slow. basically
upon hitting enter the input validation is not triggered

alternative workflows (this works correctly)
- i come to the panel
- I enter 234234234234234234 into the columns or rows field
- I click into another control (e.g. table name), or I press "Insert" 
- then the input validation is applied and the columns value is reduced to 8192

In bug 93968, the issue was resolved for LO's default symbol font, OpenSymbol,
but the same also needs to happen for other symbol fonts like Webdings,
Wingdings, Wingdings 2, and Wingdings 3.

Caolan suggested in bug 93968 comment 13 to expand the available list of symbol
fonts in svtools/source/misc/sampletext.cxx under isSymbolFont[1] and then the
necessary coding can use that as the basis for the fix.

Heiko, Stuart, Cor: Do you know any symbol fonts on Windows or Linux that
should be added to the list?

Alex, Steve: Do you know any symbol fonts on Mac that should be added to the
list?

Caolan: Maybe you can provide a bit more details on how this can be achieved so
maybe it could be an easy hack. ;D

Interestingly, I couldn't reproduce it on my local build. I tried it on a 2
page writer document and autosave happened when I was on page 2. After the
autosave finished (indicated by 'Document saved' label on the bottom right
toolbar) I was still on page 2 - no jumping.

I guess you are doing something different than what I understood from the bug
report ? in which case it might help if you expound on it a bit.

I demonstrated a very useful use case for fixing it.  The example is to create
additional pages to be stapled onto the end of a government form.  Say the form
has pages 1 to 4, but it says "insert additional pages if needed."  The
subsequent pages should be numbered from an offset of 4, starting at 5.

Currently, the only way to achieve this, is to create a document with 4 blank
pages at the beginning, and only print from page 5 onward.

This is what the whole notion of page number offset is for.

You're right, no one has demonstrated a use case for the current specified
behavior, because it does not make sense.

I just built LibreOffice without reverting the change in comment 57 to confirm
that this still occurred in master. I am experiencing this issue in the GTK3
version. I am noticing  Orca only seems slow if moving between cells that
contain different data. For example, if moving between two blank cells or two
cells which have the same data, the slowness doesn't occur. The slowness only
occurs when moving to a cell which contains different data from the current
cell. Also, data must be entered into multiple cells and this gradually gets
worse. If the commit in comment 57 is reverted on the master branch, I don't
experience this issue.
@Caolán: could you have another look to see what might be going wrong here?

The example URL I gave is from my personal webpage and I don't use external CSS
files.

I edit the files with M$ Expression Web 4 and save as HTML.

Could you reconsider closing this ticket?

Translation:

In the find & replace dialog box > other options > attributes: one of the check
boxes is called "Font weight". I think it should be "Bold". Sorry for not
writing in English. 
Actual result: Font weight
Expected: Bold

It's not a localization problem as it is correctly translated in French. I let
the UX guys decide if it's correct or could be more specific. So changing to UI
and add Heiko to the list of cc. Sophie

Creating chart again in new LO, 1. and 2. are not reproducible, and 3. is a
duplicate od Bug 53301. So, it's not "stacked" but "bar" problem now.

edit chart, open X-axis, tab Scale, reverse direction.
However, this puts the x-axis at the top of the chart.

More like "specified bug" - for anyone reading this, I did fix this, but the
change was rejected because the behavior is specified. Someone (anyone?) is
going to have to find out how to contact the board that wrote the spec and ask
them to reconsider - no one has yet been able to demonstrate a use case for
this behavior.

Please change the issue's summary accordingly.
OTOH, I see no good reason not to add 'more..' in the dialog.

There must be loolwsd.xml somewhere in the docker image. In
/etc/loolwsd/loolwsd.xml I think. Open that (and yeah first apt-get update &&
apt-get install vim because docker image doesn't have a text editor by default
;). Find this[1] line and change the string inside the  tags
to trace. (I would also change line 42 flush property to true). Restart the
docker image and now docker logs -f  would give you trace level
logs. When autosave is triggered, it should print something. Analyzing that
peice of log should help.
