Unconfirmed with v4.3.7.2 under mint 17.3 x64.
Confirmed with v4.4.7.2 under mint 17.3 x64.

The error isn't in filesave, but with fileopen. Can open a file saved with
v4.4+ without a problem in v4.3.

Sample files in LO and Excel showing working of Subtotal() function

I have also attached Similar subtotal example prepared in LO Calc but it does
not appear above. If not linked, the receiver is requested to prepare the same
file in LO to check the operation of function in LO.

I allready use 5.3, but it says earliest affected version. I appears since 5.0
earlier I didn't use the function.

Description:
The problem occurs with style names, dropdown menus, and some other widgets.
Spinners like font size are a notable exception. Seems to be a universal UI
problem: it's been annoying me in Writer, but I briefly confirmed it in Calc,
Impress, and Draw.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the side bar and single-click a style name or other element. The
element should be highlighted and have a dotted border to show that it is
active.
2. Attempt to use keyboard shortcut.

Actual Results:  
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
Command bound to shortcut is activated.


Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

My suspicion is that application keeps waiting for a message to arrive in its
windows message loop. Specifically, in GetMessageW() inside ImplSalYield() (see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/vcl/win/app/salinst.cxx#585).

A patch is in gerrit: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/39996

To check if this is true, one may try sending any message to any window (they
are hidden at that moment) of the hung process, using something like
StefanTools' SendMessage
(http://stefanstools.sourceforge.net/SendMessage.html). If I'm right, then this
should make the process close normally. However, I'm not sure that fixing this
specific point is total solution, because there might be other waiting points
in the code.

Original MS Excel file with macros

There are in fact 2 issues but very linked.

I have an Excel file (xlsm) that I open with Libre Office 4.3.7.2.
The file is opened correctly and the simple macro in it work correctly.
I save my work in ODS format because LibreOffice 4.3.7.2. can not save it in
XLSM format.

I have try later with version 5.2.7.2. and I have no problem to save my work
with macro in XSLM format.

The problem happens only when converting XLSM from ODS.
I continue to describe my problem ...

After saving my work in an ODS file, I reopen it and all the cells that
contains simple CUSTOM macro display a warning message daying that the name of
macro not exists !!!

In fact, in Original Excel the name is a mix of upper case and lower case and
is equal to "NrAlbums".
When loaded in LibreOffice the name is converted in "NRALBUMS" and the macro
continue to work correclty.
After saving the workbook in ODS file and open it again the name in cell's
formula is converted "nralbums" where all characters are converter to
lowercase. At this moment the macro is not more recognized.

This is the problem.

The first problem is that the orginal name in CELL is converted in UPPERCASE so
that original Microsoft macro name is not kept. The second problem is that when
LibreOffice load for a first time the new ODS file, the name is converted from
uppercase to lowercase.

The name in macro is always unchanged = "NrAblbums"

I hope that this can help you to improve LibreOffice!

This error is same that Bug ID 74656 but this bug is from 2015 and seems not to
be resolved.

I have explained why this error occurs and I hope that for this time it will be
possible to reproduce it on your development environment.

I have attached the original Excel XLSM file to you have the possiblity to test
what I have described.
