[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87357] CONDITIONAL FORMATTING: Context menu entry to edit

2017-08-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87357

I agree that not all cell functionalities are meant to be listed in context
menu but for 'Conditional Formatting'(CF) it does make sense.

The already existing 'Format > Conditional Formatting' entry (allowing access
to sub menu) could simply be copied/duplicated in the context menu of cell.
Providing the exact same functionality.

It would simply make it quick, easy and intuitive to access without clutering
the menu (only one additional entry in context menu).

(...)
-
Format Cell
Conditional Formatting >
-
(...)

I would expect a lot people do righ-click + format cell so it becomes natural
to look at the same location and expect right-click + conditional formatting on
a cell.

A possible alternative could be to merge conditional formatting windows as tabs
of format cell windows... perhaps... providi g the two functionalities (Format
Cell and Conditional Formatting) within the same setting window...and only one
entry in cell the context menu.

The first option would have my preference though...as it may be much easier to
implement.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74364] EDITING: Selecting multiple draw objects should show ( unselectable) handles for all objects

2017-08-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74364

ACD Canvas behavior is perhaps a little more intuitive. Selecting multiple
objects (with Shift-click adding them to the temporary group) simply activates
those objects showing handles on them. If you then click and drag one, they all
get dragged (i.e. members of the temporary group). If you resize one, they all
are INDIVIDUALLY resized the same amount. Etc. Clicking outside of any of the
multiple objects deselects them all. I kind of like that behavior, but then I
grew up with it in Mac then Windows.

I found out why is this issue is there. It comes up when selection contains
more objects with different background fill. You can check it with selecting
two cells with matching background color. In this case are tab shows good
color. However if you select two cells with different color you get this bad
behavior.
I suggest to make this work similar to Writer table backgrounds. When more
different background is selected the none page of are tab should be displayed,
but also do not apply any background if the user does not change the settings.

The problem is with the construction of ERRCODE_SFX_DOCUMENT_MACRO_DISABLED
(when it's actually substituted in RID_ERRHDL). Previously this had a nice
value, something like 16436. Now it has that huge value, 2147500084, so when it
looks for 16436, nothing is returned.

I couldn't identify why exactly the initialized value is different, possibly
due to the change in type or something?

isk_short.docx: simplified version of the description's test document

I was unable to create a cleanroom sample - I could only simplify the provided
example.

I think this has more to do with section breaks than anything else. It looks
like the "paragraph before the table"'s keep with next property isn't
connecting to the table because of the section break, and thus the table floats
freely. A bRemove in DomainMapper.cxx::lcl_utext seems to be causing the import
problem. Don't remove if pContext->isSet(PROP_PARA_KEEP_TOGETHER)? But then you
get extra empty paragraphs each round-trip.

This simple file also exports poorly - even to .doc and .odt format. I'm not
going to look into this further - too ugly.

According to the DevGuide [1] implementation names are *not* supposed to be
compatible. If this is true, it shouldn't be an issue (as long as there are
good reasons to change these names internally). However if for some case there
is a known 3rd-party code which use the impl. name, it might be better idea to
stick to the old name anyway (like in Bug 92668). But I don't know if that's
the case here.

Thanks for th quick response.

The only place for me to see the ImplementationName of FormuladDcuments was the
value shown in the BASIC IDE for an example object inspected there.

I tried to help two requesters in ask.libreoffice.org and in
forum.OpenOffice.org who had similar questions within a day.
Based on a piece of older code and the above mentioned look into the IDE I
wrote the short sub in LibO 5.4 and published it in the OO forum where LibO
users alao are welcome. The one who had asked, however, had informed he used
AOO, and therefore I also tested the code under AOO. FAIL!

The analysis showed that in AOO up to date and in LibO as well till V 4.4.7 the
ImplemenationName acctually accessible as the object's property had the lower
case ".math." The change to ".Math." without notice was with V 5.0 (I tested
with 5.0.2).

I might not be the only one who worries (if at all) about the actually
acessible strings, not about those which may occur elsewhere in the dark where
probably no case sensitive comparisons are made.

Is there a mandatory naming scheme that required the change despite the fact
that it should be expected to cause incompatibilities?

See https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7=89962#p424628 .

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111811] New: The ImplementationName " com.sun.star.comp.math.FormulaDocument was changed toupper case "M" in " .Math." New incompatibilities!

2017-08-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111811

Bug ID: 111811
   Summary: The ImplementationName
"com.sun.star.comp.math.FormulaDocument was changed
toupper case "M" in ".Math." New incompatibilities!
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: sdk
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@psilosoph.de

Between V 4.4.7 and V 5.0.2 the ImplementationName
com.sun.star.comp.math.FormulaDocument was changed to
com.sun.star.comp.Math.FormulaDocument

This broke backward and forward compatibility in some cases and created a new
conflict with AOO and most likely with some extensions.

ImplementationName and SupportedServiceName are generally tested case
sensitive.

(Was there an urgent reason for the change? Was it published? I couldn't find
it in the release notes.)

Simply check. No demo or advice how to reproduce needed.)

I cannot reproduce.
Which Windows version are you using?

This is how I did it.
I set the LibO dialogs in Tools - Options - General.
I created a directory, right-clicked it, selected Properties.
Then, in the Security tab I clicked Edit.
I selected my user and ticked Write in the Deny column (Ok, Ok).

I got the warning when trying to save from Calc and the warning was more
clearly worded in the master build (insufficient rights..).

I understand this might be a hard-to-reproduce issue as you got the crash only
after several tries. It is good that we have the crash report.

Thanks for confirming Oliver. Proper fonts (original or a replacement with
similar metrics..) are - in quite some cases - crucial for proper rendering.

OK I'll try to be clear.

LibreOffice 5.3 and on will not work correctly with your hardware/driver
combination, either update your drivers, adjust your BIOS/Catalyst controls to
force the Intel iGPU or the AMD dGPU active with LibreOffice, maybe both.

Or simply stay with the 5.2.7 build of LibreOffice if it is functional for you.

LibreOffice is not perfect in its DirectWrite implementation, but we can not
fix what is wrong with the DirectWrite implementation in the Catalyst drivers
provided by AMD to HP.

Your issue is NOTOURBUG as are the residuals folks have with bug 107166

This is a BZ issue report service--not a help desk. Although I had offered to
help you directly and the specific NEEDINFO was to you, you waste our time.

As do we all do. But the issue here remains _your_ hardware/driver combination
where the "latest operating system and it's associated patches" can not resolve
it. You could take it up with HP or AMD but that is proven to be fruitless by
others with the AMD hybrid GPU controls and the reason for the Leshcat driver
project.

Thanks for getting back to me... However... a reality check... I did not
understand 3/4 of what you said, let alone know how to do it.

I imagine most users of your software are about as ignorant as I am of the
inner workings of your program. Just as person doesn't need an engineering
degree to drive a car- they don't need to know how every widget works, nor do
they need to know how to repair every fault a car may develop- there are
experts who get paid good money - they're called mechanics. Now, a mechanic can
blind a person a with technical jargon that would flummox most people, but all
the owner of the car wants to know- can he fix it? can I drive it away today?

To learn that the car has an incompatible doo-dad means nothing to the owner.
They wonder why a manufacturer creates a product that requires such bizarre
features as to make them inoperable if they hold they tongue the wrong way.

So, back to my PC It oughtn't matter what is "under the hood" to me. I know
I can and do use the latest operating system and it's associated
patches...However, I find it absurd that every designer of software suddenly
thinks the rest of the world shares their love of the inscrutable. No, no we
don't. We just want software to work. It's your job to make it work... And if
you can't do it ... then find someone who can. We dumb end users don't need to
know how or why things work- or don't. We just need to know that the people who
made this thing that doesn't work now, how to make it work again without me
turning into a pretzel doing convolutions over the PC innards we don't
understand.
We do not share your enthusiasm or ease of repartee over some technical
obscurity. I can almost see where Apple users come from...And I own zero Apple
products...

Sorry to rant, but really people, a reality check... Take one. Go out and smell
the roses for a change.
Piter

Sorry, but there are driver issues with your HP laptop's mixed iGPU/dGPU in the
DirectWrite D2Write font rendering implemented at 5.3.2

You did not provide your results of msinfo32.exe or dxdiag.exe so we can not
advise you further of where your specific issue is--but none-the-less this is a
duplicate of bug 107166.

Steps you need with the laptop iGPU/dGPU are buried in bug 107166, or post the
system driver details here--I'll have a look. Suspect you will probably need
the Leshcat mod drivers to make this stable on your hardware combination.

Cannot follow. Advance Slide > Automatically after is a numerical edit
defaulting to 1.00s. I can edit the field without glitches under Windows 7 - it
depends on the OS/DE how numerical steppers are handled, i.e. when exactly the
auto adjustment starts, meaning onkeyup or onleave. Setting the ticket to NAB.

What is the use case? "...would be good..." is not good. Guess you have
consistency and detectability of functions in mind.
What should happen when the field contains data? Guess it should be overridden.
What happens in case of multi selection? Maybe disable the function.
Why is this type of interaction needed anyway since Calc works with functions.
For instance it could be =INFO("SheetName").

Hi guys,

What the decision here.
I found an other issue with this previews, that if you set a different color
and then click reset, the color picker button shows the right color (the color
before the change), but the preview is not updated accordingly. This issue
would be solved if we remove them of course.

"[ ] Apply user data" comes along with the execution via button labelled "Reset
Properties". So what the user expects is likely that he/she resets metadata
either with or without applying own data. But nothing should happen when the
dialog is closed.

So I suggest to not change the metadata unless reset properties is pressed.

2017-08-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40227

I'm afraid that function won't be convenient when filename.csv already exists
in the current directory and has important information. You probably want to
use a file under /tmp, for example, using mktemp to generate the temporary
filename. I'd not be surprised if libreoffice required files to have
extensions, so you'll probably have to use the --extension option of GNU mktemp
(coreutils >=8.2) or something equivalent.

Of course, it would be simpler if libreoffice could be more compatible with
this kind of workflow...
