Bug ID: 112203
Summary: FILEOPEN: DOCX - Writes numbers pages from the
beginning of the doc, not from page 8 ("pagination")
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugzilla@mkr.email

Description:
The pagination (numbering of pages, that are shown in foot of the document
itself) should start at page 8. But Writer starts numbering the pages from the
beginning of the document. (e.g. a "2" is shown on the foot of page 2 of the
document) The page numbers at the foot of the document should begin with the
start of the text of the thesis on page 8.

Ok, I see, you are using a version build and provided by Collabora instead of
the version provided by the project LibreOffice. I suggest you to try with a
recent official version downloaded from LibreOffice website. That will allow to
decide if the problem is on the main project side or the Collabora side.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109253] FONT NAME list: Scrolling through the list causes a crash. " Bad allocation" error message

2017-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109253

I just received the email regarding a similar bug where a specific font was
causing the crash (Bug 112180). Then I slowly scrolled through my font list
using the up/down arrows on the scroll bar. When it got to “Helvetica Narrow”
LO crashed. I tried it again, same result. At the point when it was crashing,
all other font names in the drop-down list disappeared, leaving just "Helvetica
Narrow" visible for a brief period until the crash process completed. Perhaps a
deliberate code feature ("This is the font!").

Then I used the Windows 10 font manager to look for that font. There was a
“Helvetica” folder with lots of variations of Helvetica in it, but there was
also an individual font icon next to the “Helvetica” folder with the name
“Helvetica Narrow S Regular”. I deleted that font with Windows font manager. I
restarted LO. Scrolling through the drop-down font list at any speed no longer
causes a crash. So, my problem seems to be solved by finding a troublesome font
and deleting it, as Telesto mentioned earlier. I did not see any correlation of
a specific font until now. Apparently I never did a slow-scroll through the
“Helvetica Narrow” part of the font list using the scroll-bar arrows until now.

However, there is still some strangeness going on with Helvetica fonts (the
short story being, I need to clean up my Helvetica fonts). I still have 4
entries in the drop-down font list:

Helvetica
Helvetica Narrow
Helvetical-Narrow
Helvetica Narrow S

Opening the “Helvetica” font folder reveals 13 variations of Helvetica,
including some duplicates. Here is each font name as described in the Helvetica
folder, followed by the file name and it's source, assuming the data is
accurate:

Helvetica Bold [helvetica-bold.otf File version 001.003 Lexmark]
Helvetica Bold Italic [helvetica-bolditalic.otf File version 001.003 Lexmark]
Helvetica Bold Narrow Oblique [helvetica-narrow-boldoblique.otf File version
OTF1.0.PS 003.000;Core 1.0.22 Copyright (c) 1985, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1997, 1998
Adobe Systems Incorporated.]
Helvetica Bold Narrow Oblique [Duplicate of above item, same data, only one
font file]
Helvetica Medium [helvetica.otf File version 001.003 Lexmark]
Helvetica Medium Italic [helvetica-italic.otf File version 001.003 Lexmark]
Helvetica Narrow [unicode.helvetin.ttf” File version 1.0]
Helvetica Narrow [Duplicate of above item, same data, only one font file]
Helvetica Narrow Bold [helvetica-narrow-bold_0.otf File version 001.003
Lexmark]
Helvetica Narrow Bold Italic [helvetica-narrow-bolditalic_0.otf File version
001.003 Lexmark]
Helvetica Narrow Medium Italic [helvetica-narrow-italic_0.otf File version
001.003 Lexmark]
Helvetica Narrow Oblique [helvetica-narrow-oblique.otf File version OTF1.0.PS
003.000;Core 1.0.22 Copyright (c) 1985, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1997, 1998 Adobe
Systems Incorporated.]
Helvetica Narrow Oblique [Duplicate of above, same data, only one file]

I had to look in the actual font file to get the “...Adobe Systems...” details
from those 2 fonts. Each font is represented in the Helvetica folder by an icon
with “Abg” displayed on it, with those 3 characters displayed in that font
variation. However, the 2 icons representing the 2 versions of “Helvetica
Narrow”, as well as the overall Helvetica folder, appear to have 2 (not 3)
Chinese characters on them. Sorry, I don’t really know if it is Chinese or some
other font, but it is not English. The “Properties” for those two “Helvetica
Narrow” ttf fonts look sketchy, with the bare minimum of information.

Some fonts appear to be from Adobe, others from Lexmark, and two that are of
unknown origin, if the detail information is correct.

Further oddities:

When I select “Helvetica Narrow” it appears as a light italic font when typed
in a document. The font name as it appears in the font drop-down list looks
like a condensed, bold, non-italic font. Also, the word “name” looks like “nam
e” with much too large a space between the “m” and the “e”. So there are
spacing issues.

“Helvetica Narrow S” appears as a light monospace font when typed in a
document, and in the drop-down list. In fact, it looks absolutely IDENTICAL to
“Courier New”. So something strange is going on there.

Helvetica-Narrow: Same results as “Helvetica Narrow”.

I removed the duplicate font Helvetica Narrow (“unicode.helvetin.ttf”) from the
Helvetica folder. This caused the Helvetica folder to return to 3 English
characters “Abg” displayed on the folder.

I still have “Helvetica”, “Helvetica-Narrow” and “Helvetica Narrow” in the
drop-down font list.

There are other oddities, but it seems likely that I need to remove all of my
Helvetica fonts and install known-good ones.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107744] Disable anti-aliasing for fonts does not work

2017-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107744

I installed v5.4.1. Even if disabled anti-aliasing and H/W accel., fonts still
rasterizes by DirectWrite/ClearType.

However, I disabled ClearType/DirectWrite on Registry for standart GDI font
rendering: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
; Value "0" or "1": switch to gray font smoothing (Smooth edges of screen
fonts: 'Standard')
; Value "2": switch to colored font smoothing (Smooth edges of screen fonts:
'ClearType')
"FontSmoothingType"=dword:0001

Or, run this BATch file as Admin for disable Cleartype and enable GDI font
rendering: https://paste.ee/r/1h0lh

(Need log-off and again log-in on Windows).

*

I tried 5.2.7.2. GDI font rendering works (of course if disabled anti-aliasing
and H/W accel. from Settings and Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Open Expert
Configuration: org.openoffice.Office.Common -> View -> FontAntiAliasing:
false).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112148] Export as Images extension 0.9.3 Has BASIC syntax error

2017-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112148

@Jean-Baptiste, thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm not really a
developer.

It also turns out that adding the brackets in the way I isn't a permanent fix.
I had exited LibreOffice, and a few days later, tried another export. The same
message came back. I added the closing right brackets as before, and the
Export as Images worked.

So, my workaround is a temporary remedy, and not a real fix. I don't know how
to make the change permanent.

Changed component to Extensions.

Considering that
- this extensions has been marked as compatible with LO 5.1 nad that nothing is
said about compatibility with newer versions
- there no mean to contact its author

I suggest you to release a new version with your fix yourself if your are
confident enough in your finding. GPL licensing allows that.

Additionally, this menu entry terminates with suspension points; that means

vertical page always prints with text horizontal

I've created a document in LibreOffice Vanilla (version 5.2.3.5) in a vertical
page orientation. It's a single page and I want to print it. But when I do, it
prints horizontally with the bottom part of my content cut off. This problem
occurs in every single document that I create in the program. I've tried
changing the page orientation, I've edited the print settings, and I've tried
setting everything back to default. Still, nothing works. I've attached a
screenshot of the problem.

See discussion in Bug 103602. With my proposal to store the page filling
properties in a element it would be possible to
describe the desired behavior by the attribute draw:background-size in ODF.
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part1.html#property-draw_background-size

Therefore I set a dependency here.

The element is already used for Draw and
Impress documents. But its attribute draw:background-size is not implemented
yet. The element can be used in Writer and Calc without extending the schema;
only an addition in the description would be necessary in the ODF
specification.

Two days ago I also experienced invisible text and menus as was reported here.
For me, it happened after the Windows 10 Creator Update was installed.

My video drivers were current so I upgraded from LibreOffice 5.3.3 Win_x64 to
the newest version, LibreOffice 5.4.1 Win_x64. That didn't help so I did a
clean install of my video drivers rule out corruption, still no help. Finally,
I rolled back the Windows 10 Creator Update. That worked, LibreOffice
displayed normally.

I do not have Quickstarter installed.

Some times LO is starting up perfectly, i still did not find out on why or
under which conditions though. I am currently testing if it has something to do
with Norton Antivirus or Commodo Firewall which i have installed on several of
my machines. Could well be, as both programs have seen an update after windows
creators update.
OpenGL problems seem not likely to me as in this case it would not start up any
time.
I will try to create a stack-trace if possible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112195] New: Allow page background to cover the whole page (reloaded)

2017-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112195

Bug ID: 112195
Summary: Allow page background to cover the whole page
(reloaded)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: spam...@gmx.net

Description:
As proposed in bug 33041, comment 46, I suggest to generally allow page
backgrounds to cover the entire page *including* the page margins. From the
discussion at bug 33041, I have learned that this might involve extending ODF
specifications.

However, the workaround proposed in bug 33041 suffers from bug 111779, and a
"true" solution would make us more compatible with that other office suite. So
it's probably worth the effort.

Steps to Reproduce:
See bug 33041

Actual Results:
See bug 33041

Expected Results:
See bug 33041

Reproducible: Always

Thank you for reporting the bug.
it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.

Ok, I understand your opinion. But often files are created once and then
distributed to colleagues who usually don’t edit the files, but just read them
(in non-editor mode). This would be an argument for showing the file without
these editor-macro-boxes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112194] New: Button text alignment reset to "Left" on save/load

2017-09-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112194

Bug ID: 112194
Summary: Button text alignment reset to "Left" on save/load
   Product: LibreOffice

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: spam...@gmx.net

Although bug 109242 has been fixed, button text alignment is still lost when
saving/loading an ODS in some cases, especially if the alignment is "Default".

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run Calc
2. Show the "Form Controls" toolbar
3. Create a new "Push Button" control
4. Set its "Alignment" property to "Default" (=> text is centered)
5. Save to ODS file
6. Close and re-open the ODS file

Actual Results:
The alignment has changed to "Left".

Expected Results:
The alignment should be what it was before saving.

Thank you very much for this bug report !

I reproduce the infinite loop with LO 5.4.1 from Ubuntu PPA and with current
master built at home under Ubuntu 16.04 x86-64.

Indeed, as the only way to regain control on the program, is to kill it, not
saved changes will be lost. So possible data loss -> critical.

Best regards. JBF

Although they seem related, I can reproduce the issue you're mentioned back to

Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 5b168b3fa568e48e795234dc5fa454bf24c9805e
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.10; UI Render: default;
Locale: ca-ES (ca_ES.UTF-8)

thus, it's not a regression introduced by
dcffc21805828ddff7de1282f3d40ffdf3fac38d.

Keeping this as closed. Please report a new issue for the 'default' problem.
Thanks

I disagree. Thumbnails allow to find easily a file in the startcenter. From
that point of view visual memory is preponderant, so I prefer that thumbnails
show what I see when I edit a file, not what I see if I printed it.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vre...@cox.net

This is in regard to new feature introduced here:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=0425ccba5b2f8819d6fade05d96a72d64db1ce0c

This feature introduces an undesirable side effect: when copying & pasting a
portion of text within a bulleted list paragraph, leading spaces and bullet are
copied along with the text. This is the case even when a single character is
being copied! This makes cutting/pasting commands from a document to a terminal
emulator rather inconvenient:)

Possible solutions:

(1) Enable feature only when entire paragraph(s) are selected.

(2) Implement feature only within the context of a newly introduced "copy
special" or "copy rich" function.

(3) Introduce option to disable the feature on a per-document or global basis.

This ticket requests exactly what you describe. My question was about the
implementation where I'm not aware of any specific draw method.

I'm looking for something like
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb226803(v=vs.85).aspx
or http://www.catch22.net/tuts/mouse-selection-highlighting because using
native controls wouldn't require any additional effort.

And finally I would keep this ticket open as the duplicate is very Calc
specific.

Thank you for your answer. So closing as WorksForMe.
The issue of the duplicated formula is another thing. I do not reproduce that.
I suggest you to check your pdf export options. If you think it is a bug of LO,
please file another bug report for this specific issue only.

Best regards. JBF

Both bugs are not the same. Actually, what I am referring to is not even a bug,
but a suggestion for an enhancement. There's a function called "Drop Caps"
which allows a big capital letter to occupy more than one line DOWN. Why can't
there be a function which allows the same thing, but occupying some lines UP
instead of down? It doesn't even have to be called "Lift Caps", it can be
called some other thing...the menu for "Drop Caps" could be called some other
thing, and in it, you could select if you wanted the capital letter to occupy
space DOWN or UP...that would be even more optional for the user, a more
complete function.
