https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112998

(In reply to Hiunn-hué from comment #11)
In Fedora 26, to install fcitx and reproduce this, do:
1. # dnf install fcitx fcitx-pinyin
2. # exit
3. $ imsettings-switch fcitx
(a message tray will display on the left-bottom of desktop showing fcitx icon.)
4. Click the input source displayed in ibus icon (right-top of the desktop
area) as "en" keyboard (i.e., all input methods used by ibus are disabled)
5. You DO NOT need to set the input method as pinyin in fcitx message tray.
6. Reproduce the bug: in calc:
A1: a
A2: 1
A3: 11
set autofilter
put cursor in A2 and freeze first row
type in "1" in the search box of the autofilter dropdown and click OK.
calc hangs

I am trying my best to get a backtrace. But this may take some time.

Screenshot of the submenu in Writer

Submenu items Edit - Track Changes in Writer were recently renamed to make them
shorter in commit [1].

However this happened only in Writers submenu, not in Calc where the older
submenu items are still used.

This is inconsistent from user point of view.
I noticed this when I just tried to change the menu references in the
documentation, which uses the same text for both programs.

Maybe it would make sense to change them in Calc as well?

I consider it as bug, that it is not possible to choose the data series, if the
chart is a Pie-chart.

Hi Julian, here a workaround. Unfortunately it is not stable and will fall back
to default, if you use filter or change data.

A Pie-chart can only show one data series. Here it uses that data series, which
is the outer-one in a Donut-chart. So for to get "sum" into the Pie-chart, mark
all three columns: type, quantity and sum, and generate a Donut-chart or switch
the chart type to Donut-chart in case of an existing chart. Activate the chart
for editing. As default "quantity" is the outer one, "sum" is the inner one.
Enable Data labels with number and category to verify it. Click on the inner
series and then use menu Format item Arrangement and "Bring Forward". Now "sum"
should be outer and "quantity" inner ring. As last step change the chart type
to Pie-chart.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113021] Impress media player REPEAT toggle function does not loop MP4 video clip

2017-11-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113021

Except that there *can be* different user-perceptible behavior depending on the
combo of OpenGL use state and graphics sub-system for a given display. See bug
112958 for an example - different video presentation behavior when using OpenGL
and dragging the *playing video* from one display/graphics stack to another and
back. I agree that the probability of different behavior is low between among
CPU embedded graphics sub-systems (Intel vs. AMD vs. whatever). But as soon as
there is an external GPU graphics sub-system in the mix that is in effect an
independent stack typically driving dedicated displays, user-perceptible LO
behavior can be broken *differently*. Its the usual and annoying platform
fragmentation the app developers have had to deal with since forever.

Probably the player's Repeat (Loop) function *is* broken in a universal way but
I am cautious in preemptively ruling out the various graphics stacks as
breaking it in different ways after experiencing bug 112958.

2017-11-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94363

Buovjaga,

I appreciate the excellent work of the Document Foundation and its development
team to provide and continuously improve the LibreOffice suite. In fact, I use
LibreOffice very often. This is the reason, why I have already donated to
LibreOffice and plan donations also in the future. This is also the reason, why
I report issues that I consider to be significant and generally beneficial to
the entire LO community.

Bugzilla used by the Document Foundation is an effective tool to systematically
report and track all issues of LO. I understand that especially the users of LO
are responsible to clearly report any new issue so that it can be reproduced
and fixed by the development team. Likewise, I expect the development team to
be responsible to comment any issue that has been discarded or fixed and close
these issues afterwards. However, a 25% rate of silently fixed issues suggests
that the second part of the tracking process is not as effective as one would
expect. I think, rather than asking the original reporters of any open issue
that is older than a year to check, if the corresponding issue was resolved (by
chance), it would be better to find out, why a significant rate of resolved
issues is not tracked (i.e. is silently fixed). Given the root cause of this
significant rate, there is the chance to make the entire bug tracking process
more efficient.

Regards
Tom

The original file with the pivot chart

My fault. I have uploaded the result, not the original file. The new, correct
file contains a pivot chart. A pivot chart is not only connected to the pivot
table, but the chart itself has filter buttons.

After saving in ODF 1.2 format, the chart is no longer a pivot chart, because
the feature is not available in ODF 1.2 strict, but it is a LO extension.

Please try the steps again with the new file.

I noticed that text which disappears during scrolling - shows up again when the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83350] RTL: Arabic UI has status bar fields that are aligned to the left

2017-11-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83350

When testing on:

Version: 5.4.2.2.0+
Build ID: 1:5.4.2-3~bpo9+1
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.9; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.utf8); Calc: group

OS: Debian 64bit Stretch (Debian 9.2, with some backported packages)

using Hebrew UI:

The "page 1 from 1" is left aligned even before entering any page break.
Also "0 words, 0 characters" and "default style" (the first three fields form
the right side). (the text messages actually appear in Hebrew)

The "Alt+Tab" trick to right align the status line fields does not fix the
alignment of those fields, because my desktop (Xfce4) intercepts it.

So what if OpenGL lags a little, as cross platform it is moving performance
forward onto accelerated hardware in a reasonably consistent fashion.

I don't think it is fair to compaare OpenGL to legacy GDI/GDI+ with all its
warts. For more meaningful performance gains on Windows builds we would have to
implement native DirectX 11 with Direct2D, DirectDraw even DirectCompute, and
also support WDDM driver features. It would make the GUI more stable and
perform better, but is way out of scope.

Obviously that is not going to happen.

So IMHO => NAB

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113467] Random hangs -- multiple situations

I should also add that this Mac has a large number of fonts (~850) installed.
However, until recently, this has not been an issue, and all of these fonts
have been installed since a previous Mac, at least 10 years go.

So, unless something in LO or macOS has changed regarding font handling, I
don't think this is the issue, but thought I would mention it just for
completeness.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113467] Random hangs -- multiple situations

2017-11-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113467

For about a week now, I have been running with spelling and grammar checking as
I type turned off. I have also reset my profile and tried running in safe mode.
I have also ejected all network and externally attached drives, and I have set
my Mac's internal drive to not sleep.

I can say from this testing that turning off spelling and grammar checking
seems to improve the performance, but that could also just be a coincidence, as
I am still having serious problems with hangs.

For example, I just created a new writer document. After using the menu to
specify I wanted a new text document, it opened within a couple seconds, and as
soon as I clicked in the document, I was able to type. However, after typing my
header line and adding a couple blank lines below it, when I selected the
header line and went to the toolbar to change the font size, as soon as I
pulled down the font size menu, LO froze. It took about 30 seconds for it to
again respond, and the response was to close the drop down menu. When I went to
type the font size in the tool-bar box, it allowed me to type it, but as soon
as I selected away from the tool-bar, it again froze, but this time for about
10 seconds.

I'm open to additional testing suggestions.

Thanks!

Thanks.

Note that the current method you cite is unintuitive and others have filed bugs
complaining about pasting clobbering the entire cell. Adding this feature
would help that problem.

Yes, mostly. My "line" is any series of non-newline characters.

The thing is, that the left and right column should be almost the same (as it
is the case for standard space, see "SPACE"). That is, there should be no
difference between inserting a special space before or after the bracket.

It is already possible to paste only the comment using Paste special and only
ticking Comments. Note that you have to use Operations: Add, if pasting to
cells with existing contents so they will not be wiped out.

Let's swing this by the UX team in any case.

tdf#93529 - move to a Mac-like double-buffered OpenGL model.
This moves us to always rendering to an off-screen texture, and then
(at idle) blitting this to the screen & swapping buffers. Ideally we
should never see any rendering, or flicker again with this approach.

Several fixes are included:
+ avoid multiple OpenGL contexts being created for the same window,
 created excessive flicker problems.
+ de-virtualize UseContext - which context we use is less critical.
+ kill 'mbOffscreen' distinction - all VCL rendering is offscreen.
+ implement 'doFlush' and high priority idle flushing.
+ bind stencil buffer for clipping vs. textures - fixing complex
clopping when rendering to virtual-devices, and off-screen.
   + document environment. variables.
+ use white as default background glClear color, but red or
 random color for DBGUTIL.

Based on using Page Down (the buffering can be noticed)

Reproducible with

Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: b03fe77699b1ad30a9441bd9b283f25579ac261e
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL;
Locale: en-US (ru_RU); Calc: CL

and

Version: 5.4.2.2 (x64)
Build ID: 22b09f6418e8c2d508a9eaf86b2399209b0990f4
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.19; UI render: GL;
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); Calc: CL

Code pointers for an interested developer:

The crash happens because Dialog::ImplStartExecuteModal() tries to access
previous active modal dialog's member, but the previous active dialog is
already disposed of at that time (and
ImplGetSVData()->maWinData.mpLastExecuteDlg still points to that already
disposed dialog).

This happens (in case of gallery crash) in
GalleryBrowser1::ImplGalleryThemeProperties, where mpThemePropertiesDialog
(referencing the previous gallery dialog) is reassigned to a newly created
dialog, thus disposing previous one.

The problems:

1. It shouldn't be possible to operate on detached tools, like with attached;
so the reassignment wouldn't happen;
2. In that case, if we first checked for existence of the dialog, and possibly
just returned the already existing instance, it would work. Or maybe add an
assert that would express the invariant (that the mpThemePropertiesDialog must
be empty before assignment).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113649] New: Editing: The latency while scrolling with OpenGL enabled is a bit to high with OpenGL

2017-11-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113649

Bug ID: 113649
Summary: Editing: The latency while scrolling with OpenGL
enabled is a bit to high with OpenGL
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl

Description:
The latency while scrolling with OpenGL enabled is a bit to high. It makes the
scrolling experience less responsive. It's OK, but scrolling isn't that snappy.
It's quite obvious when comparing with GDI rendering

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment 136841 [details]
2. Set view to multi-page view
3. Zoom out to 5 pages
4. Scroll up and down with the scroll wheel (and/or page up and down)

Actual Results:
There is a noticeable latency

Expected Results:
Less latency would be nice

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112937] Line break doesn' t work if there is a non-standard space before the closing bracket and and between the closing bracket and slash.

2017-11-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112937

When I insert e.g. ZWSP immediately after the closing bracket, the line is
allowed to break when the part after the ZWSP is too long, as if it was a
standard space. That's OK.

On the other hand, when I insert the same type of space immediately before the
closing bracket, the line is not allowed to break when the part after the ZWSP
is too long, which is the same as if there wasn't any space. That's not OK.
