[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113673] FILEOPEN: PPTS - If I switch from slide show mode to edit mode, a WMF file in a slide is rendered differently

2017-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113673

I'm sorry, I was not specific enough. I investigated the issue and found out
that is not about the PPTS format, but about a fix in the WMF image format.

The alpha1 build of LO 6 contains a fix for images of the WMF file format.

The attached test case „Test Case WMF in Slide.odp“ is a presentation with a
WMF, which is affected by this fix.

If you just open this presentation, the WMF looks right, but if you start the
Slide Show („Slide Show“ → „Start from first slide“), the WMF is shown messed
up.

Here is a step by step list:

1. Please open the presentation „Test Case WMF in Slide.odp“ that is attached
to this bug report with LO 6 alpha1. (In earlier builds of LO 6 or LO 5 the
issue with the logo is in Editing Mode and in Presentation Mode).
2. Please click on the menu „Slide Show“ and then „Start from the first slide“.
3. The Slide Show starts and the logo (a WMF image) is messed up. The image is
rendered the way it was rendered before the fix in LO6 Alpha1.

Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: a5af0fd9f27af42cf2e8571f659cdad6e606215b
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2017-11-07_00:30:02
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: group

To reproduce this, you need a version of LO 6 Alpha1 (fix is only there
present).

Here is a code pointer to what happens when GtkSpinButton is parsed

It looks like what comes after the ":" is used as a pattern to define units.

I am not sure if the problem is explained well by me.

The "rotation center" is always in the middle of selected object. However, when
you work with one object (rotating it) and then click on another (while rotate
tool is selected), the "rotation center" is kept from the first object.

So, my suggestion is that "rotation center" should be in the middle of the
selected object... however, user can move it if he/she wants it (that is
possible now).

I think an enhancement would resolve the confusion that led me to think this
was a bug.

The import dialogue under "Separator Options" states "Text delimiter".

I don't think this is accurate, or at lease clear.
The text on an imported row is delimited by the Tab, Comma, Semicolon, Space,
Other into columns in the sheet.

The Text delimiter character is in fact an encapsulation character. What is
encapsulated between these characters (Text delimiter) is a block of text that
is not to be broken up if it contains a delimiter. It is still imported as
format "Number-General".

I would suggest an enhancement of re-naming this "Text encapsulation" or
"String definition" or similar clarifying term.

This would also remove confusion with "Merge delimiters", which doesn't merge
"Text delimiters" but I assume merges Separators.

According to ubuntu's package info[1], the libreoffice-gtk3 requires libgtk-3-0
(>= 3.19.12), the same as the version in 17.04.

Is there a means to know which version of gtk3 LO was build against?

I'm not seeing any issue in the current version. I'm able to copy the table (as
long as I don't select the merged cell), and split on the "/"

Note that LibreOffice first thinks some of these numbers are dates in my locale
settings, but when I split them the still have the same value.

It is to be expected that you have issues like this though when pasting from
the web.

--- Comment #7 from Yousuf Philips (jay) ---
So I can confirm that there isnt a problem with version 5.4.1.2 of LibreOffice
that comes bundled with Ubuntu 17.10, but when upgrading to 5.4.2 from the PPA,
the issue does arise.

Version: 5.4.2.2
Build ID: 1:5.4.2~rc2-0ubuntu0.17.10.1~lo1
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

I tested and the /usr/share/applications/libreoffice-writer.desktop file didnt
change after upgrading, so not sure what the problem could be caused by but
dont believe it is our bug and likely a bug with ubuntu or the dock.

Buovjaga, Xisco: whats your take?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113719] Pasting text into Calc results in image being inserted

2017-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113719

Comment 3 describes something different than comment 0. When copy-pasting (not
paste-special) an entire cell or multiple cells from Calc to Writer, the target
is an embedded spreadsheet object that you can double click and edit. This is
not a bug. If you want only text then paste special and choose Unformatted
Text, or to preserve the cell structure and paste as Writer table choose
Formatted Text [RTF].

I can not reproduce the original description's Writer to Calc behavior, I get
text instead of object (Linux, 5.4.2 and 5.4.3), unless I paste special
selecting LibreOffice 5.4 Text Document.

This could be another incarnation of bug 88991 and/or bug 72546, with the root
cause being bug 103322 or an old version of the Arial font. Visual impact
severity might depend on screen resolution or Arial font (i.e. Windows)
version. I can't confirm in with LO 5.3.6.1 Portable on Win10 64-bit, Full HD.

Ok, so both versions have OpenGL turned off, good. It therefore seems version
6.0 contains some fix that makes the problem go away. Are you OK, if we close
this report as RESOLVED WORKSFORME?

Here is the release schedule for 6.0:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/6.0

It might also be good to check, if the recently released 5.4.3 contains the
same fix.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113571] Copy of cell with multi-line text is pasted as CSV for unformatted text, enclosed in double quotes and with quote escaping (FORMATTING)

2017-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113571

So apparently this is related to the fix for bug 32213 where
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/calc/commit/?id=cdcd262ea4aa3c3e407b14ed533e514f75de2d3a
in ScTransferObj::GetData() constructs the ScExportTextOptions with
mbAddQuotes=true to maintain line breaks and proper cell distribution. That is
some internal "unformatted (but CSV-like)" text and probably the reason that
MS-Office does it similar.
You can't have both behaviour in one format.

The only solution is to offer two text variants to the clipboard and/or,
depending on the consumer, generate one or the other, if that is possible. The
problem here is that for non-in-cell paste the existing quoted format is
needed, but for in-cell or external unformatted paste the non-quoted format is
needed.

  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: o...@prosa.dk

Description:
Autoupdate of references requires you to change the paragraph before it
autoupdates.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. New text document
2. Enter foo
3. CTRL-F2
4. Set reference
5. Name: myname
6. Insert
7. Close
8. Press left arrow, enter, enter
9. CTRL-F2
10. Insert Reference > Reference > myname
11. Insert
12. Edit first the first Foo into Bar

Actual Results:
The second Foo remains Foo

Expected Results:
The second Foo changed into Bar

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This is already set:

Options > LibreOffice Writer > General > Automatically Update > Fields = true

On 64-bit Windows we now have to make a hard link [4] creating gswin32c.exe

The OP is reporting (in Spanish) the same behaviour described on

Judging by his/her user agent, the OP is also using a KDE desktop environment
(it's not clear if KDE 4 or Plasma 5), in any case the problem seems to be
related to KDE4 VCL plug-in.

Problem seems to be fixed on LibO 5.4.3.2

that is exactly the problem. Once you click on Rotate tool and click on some
object... that is "sticky" anchor... next object is rotated around previous
"sticky anchor".

Expected behaviour:
The object should be rotated around its own central anchor (as default) unless
I change it. Not some "sticky" anchor, to borrow your terminology once more :-)
