[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115271] New: LibreOffice Impress printing to paper & *.PDF( cups & to file) = fail. Impress will only allow printing on US Letter (8.5 " X 11.0").

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115271

Bug ID: 115271
   Summary: LibreOffice Impress printing to paper & *.PDF(cups &
to file) = fail. Impress will only allow printing on
US Letter (8.5" X 11.0").
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: duder_t...@hotmail.com

Description:
Environment = Ubuntu 16.04 & Firefox 58 & LibreOffice Impress Version: 5.3.7.2

No combination of printer presets, printer options or printer configurations at
the OS level will allow a user to select paper size.
Impress is not aware of the size of the slide.
Impress does not acknowledge printer configurations.
In summary, the print dialog box is totally broken.
None of the options listed below function in any sort of way:

Print > Options
fail = [checkbox] Use only paper tray from printer preferences
fail = [checkbox] Use only paper size from printer preferences

Print > General > Properties... > Paper
fail = [dropdown] Paper size == greyed out
fail = [dropdown] Orientation == greyed out

Print > General > Properties... > Device
fail = dialogue box does not read in any of the printer settings

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a presentation that uses a 19"X13" slide
2.Try to print this slide (shrink to fit to 11"x17" / Tabloid / ANSI B)

Actual Results:
The only possible (paper & *.pdf) output will be a US letter sized document.

Expected Results:
This used to work in 5.1.X.X.
It used to be possible to print to something other than a US letter.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Please fix the "Black and White" printing output.
It should be easy for the user to print without the background image and have
all entities converted to black or greyscale on a white background in order to
make paper printing possible. This is a important requirement for a corporate
environment.

This bug was present with LO:

LibreOffice 3.3.4
OOO330m19 (Build:401)
tag libreoffice-3.3.4.1

Tested with portable LibreOffice, without any changes in configuration except
the use of java.

Therefore I will apply:

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115270] New: LibreOffice Impress export *.SVG = fail. Usage of " javascript:window" in a TEXT Link results in fundamentally flawed behavior in the web browser.

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115270

Bug ID: 115270
   Summary: LibreOffice Impress export *.SVG = fail. Usage of
"javascript:window" in a TEXT Link results in
fundamentally flawed behavior in the web browser.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: duder_t...@hotmail.com

Description:
Environment = Ubuntu 16.04 & Firefox 58 & LibreOffice Impress Version: 5.3.7.2

In LibreOffice Impress 5.1.X.X a hyperlink (' Link ') could be assigned to
text, the slide could be exported to *.SVG and the hyperlink would function
properly.
Using the same code on text in Impress 5.3.7.2 and exporting the slide to *.SVG
results in illogical window behavior in the web browser.
Using the same code on an image (imported *.svg file) in Impress 5.3.7.2 and
exporting the slide to *.SVG results in correct window behavior in the web
browser.

Here is the Link contents:

javascript:window.alert("https://google.com/;);window.open("https://google.com/;);window.history.go(document.baseURI);

Notice that the code above has three window objects.

The *.SVG file created by Impress instructs the web browser to open three new
windows if this javascript is assigned to *TEXT*.
The *.SVG file created by Impress instructs the web browser to open one window
if this javascript is assigned to an *IMAGE*.

Note that this javascript is being used since Impress cannot export a *.odp to
*.svg that has relative links.
See BUG # 115236.

Here is sample HTML code that demonstrates correct behavior.
Create a *.html file and open this file in a web browser.
After clicking the button an alert box will open up on the page, followed by a
new window opening up @google.com, then the first window will reset to initial
state.

Click the button to open a new browser window.
Try it

function myFunction()
{window.alert("https://google.com/";);window.open("https://google.com/";);window.history.go(document.baseURI);}

Impress used to be able to create a *.SVG file that could do exactly what the
HTML code listed above can do.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new *.odp
2. Type some text
3. Select some amount of text that has been typed
4. Create hyperlink out of selected text
5. Insert > Link... > Web > javascript:(use code from above)
6. Insert an image into the document to compare behavior
7. Insert > Image > pick any image
8. Select Image
9. Insert > Link... > Web > javascript:(use code from above)
10. File > Save
11. File > Export >*.svg
12. Open *.svg in a web browser and observe the incorrect behavior of the text
link

Actual Results:
Using text for a hyperlink does not result in the same behavior as when an
image is used for a hyperlink. The link protocol must be javascript: since the
file:// protocol fails for all situations when Impress tries to export a *.SVG.

Expected Results:
It is expected that Impress can export a *.SVG file with relative links.
Impress cannot do this.

It is expected that Impress can export a *.SVG file with javascript assigned to
text.
Impress cannot do this.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
There are *many* problems with *.SVG export from Impress. A thorough review of
this functionality is needed. LibreOffice should not refer to the 5.3.7.2
release as suitable for "an enterprise or corporate environment or a
conservative user".

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115268] New: FILEOPEN - Writer 6 crash opening MS office files if app not already open

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115268

Bug ID: 115268
   Summary: FILEOPEN - Writer 6 crash opening MS office files if
app not already open
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: r...@ravenet.ca

Description:
A regression I've seen in 6.0 RC2 and RC3 since stable 5.4 on Windows is if
LibreOffice Writer or Calc isn't already opened and you double-click a word doc
or excel spreadsheet to open it, Writer/Calc will open properly and display the
file but immediately hang. LibreOffice Base being open doesn't appear to
matter, only the supporting Writer or Calc itself.

I initially thought this was related to network files or file synchronization
apps but have been able to reproduce on files stored locally on Windows 10.

Environment:
Windows 10 1709 64 bit
LibreOffice 6.0 32bit RC2 and RC3

Note that this never happens if appropriate Writer or Calc is already opened.

This doesn't happen on LibreOffice 5.4.x

OpenGL enabled/disabled has no effect.

Tested on multiple Windows 10 workstations on multiple networks with multiple
doc and xls files, though appears to happen more on certain files. I'll attach
an example.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Be sure LibreOffice is closed
2. Try to open a file through Windows Explorer either by double click, or right
click>open dialog
3. Note file opens, but high chance LibreOffice will hang if you attempt any
mouse clicks. Sometimes LibreOffice opens a crash report dialog.

Actual Results:
LibreOffice gui hangs, sometimes crashes immediately with a crash report
dialog.

Expected Results:
Should work fine as previous versions.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Bug ID: 115267
   Summary: LibreOffice Impress export *.SVG = fail. Usage of the
'TAB' key in Impress to create spaces fails upon
export to *.SVG.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: duder_t...@hotmail.com

Description:
Description:
Environment = Ubuntu 16.04 & Firefox 58 & LibreOffice Impress Version: 5.3.7.2

If the 'TAB' keyboard key is used to create spaces between text, these spaces
will exist in the Impress slide but will not exist when exported to format
*.SVG.

The spaces created by the 'TAB' key are completely ignored upon export and the
text is pushed together.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Impress *.odp
2. Type some text
3. Press the TAB key once
4. Type some more text
5. Press the TAB key a few times
6. Type some more text
7. Export the slide to *.SVG.

Actual Results:
Spaces that were created by the TAB key in the Impress slide do not exist in
the *.SVG.

Expected Results:
The TAB key is used to create space between words or text characters. It should
not be ignored when an Impress *.odp is exported to *.SVG.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115266] Style modification dialog : line width shown in default unit (FORMATTING, UI, enhancement)

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115266

--- Comment #3 from div...@gt500kr.fastmail.fm ---
The work-around to the unit display issue is:
1- go into Options
2- change the default unit to Points
3- go to Style modification dialog, Line tab
4- enter new width in Points
5- go back to Options, revert units to Inch

Please note:
If the default units are set to Inch, and I enter XX pt in the Width box of the
Line properties in the Style dialog, the dialog will accept it.
HOWEVER, the actual line width on screen will be different than other lines
which were manually set to the same XX pt width in the individual Lines
properties.

To reproduce the Point vs. Inch accuracy bug :
1- switch the units to Inch in Options
2- go to Style modification dialog, Line tab
3- enter "1 pt" in the Width box
4- switch the units to Points in Options
5- go back to Style modification dialog, Line tab
6- The actual value shown in the Width box will not be 1 pt, but 0.7 pt

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115266] New: Style modification dialog : line width shown in default unit (FORMATTING, UI, enhancement)

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115266

Bug ID: 115266
   Summary: Style modification dialog : line width shown in
default unit (FORMATTING, UI, enhancement)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: div...@gt500kr.fastmail.fm

Description:
I am using Draw.
We are all used to setting the lines width by "points" in office applications.
In Draw, in the properties of a line, the unit for line width is shown in
points, independently of my default unit setting in Options (set to Inch).

However, when I want to change the default line width for a style in the style
properties dialog, the Line tab shows the width unit according to the default
unit from options. In my case that's in Inches, and that does not tell me a lot
as far as a line width.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the dialog to modify a specific Style properties.

Actual Results:
Line width is specified in the default units (from the Options dialog).

Expected Results:
Should show the same units as the the Line properties dialog, or at least give
the choice to specify the actual unit when I enter a value.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115265] New: Enhancement to Middle mouse button panning

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115265

Bug ID: 115265
   Summary: Enhancement to Middle mouse button panning
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: div...@gt500kr.fastmail.fm

Description:
This is an enhancement request for Draw.
Panning is a basic documentation browsing function.
To me, it as important as scrolling and zooming.

Those two functions (scrolling and zooming) do not require to select a
dedicated tool in order to work. With the Select tool active, as soon as the
mouse cursor is in the viewing area of the document, they just plain work: the
[scroll wheel] scrolls the document, and Ctrl+[scroll wheel] will zoom in/out.

However, the same cannot be said of the panning function.
To be able to pan, the "Zoom & Pan" tool needs to be active and one will then
use Shift+[middle mouse button].

It would be much better to be able to pan just using the [middle mouse button]
on its own (or possibly along with the Shift key) when the cursor is in the
document viewing area, in Select mode.
Various other programs work this way I believe.

Steps to Reproduce:
Activate the Select tool.
Try to pan using the middle mouse button.

Actual Results:
Panning does not work.

Expected Results:
Panning works.

Reproducible: Always

Hi Xisco,

first of all sorry for me responding so late.

The problem still exists with version 5.4.4. Because I own a new computer now,
I can confirm this problem on different hardware.
Now tested on a Ryzen 7 1800X with an AMD RX 580 gfx card but still newest
kernel/mesa drivers (amdgpu).

Greets,

Torsten

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115264] New: LibreOffice Impress export *.SVG = fail. Impress does not generate thumbnail image, Ubuntu file manager cannot display icon image.

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115264

Bug ID: 115264
   Summary: LibreOffice Impress export *.SVG = fail. Impress does
not generate thumbnail image, Ubuntu file manager
cannot display icon image.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: duder_t...@hotmail.com

Description:
Environment = Ubuntu 16.04 & Firefox 58 & LibreOffice Impress Version: 5.3.7.2
& 5.1.X.X

When a slide from Impress 5.1.x.x is exported as *.SVG, a thumbnail image was
generated.
This thumbnail image could be viewed in the default file manager for Ubuntu
when viewing criteria was set to "Display a Grid of Icons".
The *.SVG could be opened in the default viewer application called "Image
Viewer" and would display the *.SVG image.

As of LibreOffice Impress Version 5.3.7.2, no thumbnail image is generated and
the *.svg file cannnot be viewed in Image Viewer.

A *.SVG file generated by either 5.1.X.X & 5.3.X.X can be viewed by FireFox web
browser.

Note: the *.SVG does not validate when submitted to:
"https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload+with_options;

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Start a New Impress *.odp
2) Do anything such as type text, insert an image etc.
3) File > Save
4) File > Export > SVG
5) Try to open the *.SVG with Image Viewer and enjoy the system lock-up
followed by application crash

Actual Results:
 - no thumbnail image generated
 - image cannot be opened by Ubuntu default application = Image Viewer
 - image cannot be opened by Ubuntu default file browser = Nautilus

Expected Results:
 - in 5.1 everything worked as expected
 - in 5.3 it will crash the application but not the OS

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Impress is not handling many aspects of *.SVG export correctly
The entire module needs to be reviewed.

Hey Michael M., looking at oo era i56202 implementing this control [1] did not
consider the OSX UI conflict. Would using the typewriter "apostrophe" (U+0027)
be the better choice, even if on Windows en-US MS Excel does use the "Grave
accent" for its toggle?

Currently in Customize dialog we can assign the .uno:ToggleFormula "Show
Formula" to another keyboard shortcut, but for some reason the "Grave accent"
does not show on the View menu or in the customize dialog as assigned.

Yes, it affects Calc as well, eg. you can set paragraph spacing in comments.

I dug up the commits that added these entries to the menubar, but I have no
idea how toggling works, and where that can be specified.
Looks like a good easy hack candidate, adding the respective keywords.

For reference, these commits add the menu entries to the menus:

Yes @V Stuart Foote, that is correct. It is the CMD+`. The ~ is above the `
on my keyboard. I goofed. Apologies for any confusion caused.

CMD+~ is to switch between open windows in the opposite order.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115255] [NEWHELP] Enable copy to clipboard of some text in help pages

--- Comment #1 from Buovjaga  ---
The simplest solution would be to do it without a button. We could have a CSS
tooltip say "Click on the text to copy it to your clipboard".

We could also include a text at the beginning of such articles "the texts
looking like this can be copied to the clipboard by clicking on them".

JS to target a class (not an ID because we want to be able to have multiple
copyable elements in a single article):

> var copyable = document.getElementsByClassName("copyable");
>
> for (var i = 0, len = copyable.length; i < len; i++) {
> (function() {
> var item = copyable[i];
>
> item.onclick = function() {
> document.execCommand("copy");
> }
>
> item.addEventListener("copy", function(event) {
> event.preventDefault();
> if (event.clipboardData) {
> event.clipboardData.setData("text/plain", item.textContent);
> }
> });
> }());
> }

Not tested, but should work.

Let me know what you think and we can develop it further.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115261] New: UI/Win: "Open Remote" windows: "Cancel" button left of " Ok" (Linux style)

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115261

Bug ID: 115261
   Summary: UI/Win: "Open Remote" windows: "Cancel" button left of
"Ok" (Linux style)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1 all versions
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugzilla@mkr.email

Description:
UI: There is a small quirk in the “Remote Files” window, if LO runs in Windows.
The „Cancel“ button is left of the „Open“ respectively „Save“. What I mean is:
The positions of the buttons “Open”/”Save” and “Cancel” are the Linux way.
Should be the other way round in Win.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open „Remote Files“ window via „Open Remote“ respectively „Save Remote“ entry
in a LO app or via “Remote Files” in LO start screen.

Actual Results:
"Cancel" left of "Ok"

Expected Results:
Windows style: "Cancel" right of "Ok"

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Since LO 5.1

tdf#107392 ODF import: fix z-order sorting of SVG images
The problem was that in case the document has shapes where the order
does not match the z-index order, so sorting is needed, then sorting
failed to take the multi-image feature into account. E.g. SVG images
have a PNG fallback, but at the end of the shape import the PNG
fallback is removed, which means the "actual" (not the "wished") z-index
of the shapes after the SVG image has to be adjusted.

Without this happening SvxDrawPage::getByIndex() (or in case of Writer,
SwTextBoxHelper::getByIndex()) will throw when the importer calls
getByIndex(3) but we only have 3 shapes. This results in not honoring
the z-index request of the remaining shapes.

Regression from commit 44cfc7cb6533d827fd2d6e586d92c61d7d7f7a70 (re-base
on ALv2 code. Includes (at least) relevant parts of:, 2012-10-09), from
