[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115641] New: LibreOffice 6.0.1 needs write access to program folder
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115641 Bug ID: 115641 Summary: LibreOffice 6.0.1 needs write access to program folder Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.1.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: m...@fortune.ch Description: A document created and saved in LibreOffice 6.0.0 was displayed completely warped when opened after updating to 6.0.1 on Windows 10. Something with the font display seemed to fail. Opening the same document with a local administrator account worked fine. Assigning change access rights to the program folder for regular users on Windows 10 solved the problem. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a writer document in LibreOffice 6.0.0 without local admin rights 2. Write some lines of text 3. Open the same document in Libreoffice 6.0.1 without local admin rights 4. The text is sized differently and line-wrapped in other places than before. Actual Results: Font is displayed different in 6.0.1 than it used to be on 6.0.0 when working as non-admin Expected Results: Write access to program folder should not be needed to display the font correctly Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 6.0.1.1 (x64) Build-ID: 60bfb1526849283ce2491346ed2aa51c465abfe6 CPU-Threads: 8; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: GL; Gebietsschema: de-CH (de_CH); Calc: CL User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105444 --- Comment #13 from Gabor Kelemen--- I investigated this a bit. Made two similar files under Linux in 5.4.4 and Windows 5.4.2 (shall check on 6.0 yet) I created two simple example docx files, one on Linux and one on Windows, with a comment in them, but without ending newline. What happened: - The generated comments.xml files inside do not differ content wise. There is no new line stored in either of them. - When opening the files on Linux, neither gets an extra new line ending. - When opening the files on Windows, both gets an extra new line ending. Then this can be correctly written out on save - so this is a Windows-specific file open bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It seems that LO uses it's own mail sending function rather than the > default email client that is installed on my machine! What on earth is that > all about? Why doesn't it just call my default email client? > Please give the option to use local mail client i.e. thunderbird instead There is no standard desktop API for sending emails. Unless you want hundreds of individual windows for each recipient, you couldn't use the default email client. It just doesn't make sense in the context of mailmerge. In LO 6.1, SSL SMTP should work now (on port 465 only). However, note that bug 103919 indicates that sending will stop prematurely!! A fix for that is under review. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114794 --- Comment #20 from Stang--- Saw this bug today and felt somewhat responsible. I originally answered Chris Grove on the ask.libreoffice site. At the time I wasn't aware the Access connection does not work in Windows 64-bit. Recent activities have brought this to light. I am posting because there is a way to do this in 64-bit if you use a JDBC connector - UCanAccess. Have posted the "How To" steps here: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/145877/mdb-files-not-loading-to-base/ Sorry for any inconvenience & hope this helps. I found a possible cause. Seems to be related to Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. I had not ever installed this service pack, and when I started manually getting the dlls that were listed as not being found, I found they were related to an update that will only work when SP1 is already installed. I did a full wipe of my PC, and started fresh with W7SP1 installed. The redist package installs correctly from a download from MS, and then LibreOffice starts no problem. Just an idea. Check to make sure SP1 is installed. Might fix your issue. Also might specify in the system reqs (if not already done) that SP1 is required for 6 to work with Windows 7. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115453] Confusion on the Impress Views Tab Bar: UI
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115453 --- Comment #4 from Italo Vignoli--- I suggest to remove Master Handout (never used) from the Views Tab but do not remove at least Normal and Slide Sorter tabs as they are the most frequently accessed from Impress power users (and accessing the different views from the menu is not only slower but also different from applications such as PowerPoint and Keynote, which offer either an icon or something similar to the Views Tab). Please consider that an Impress power (or simply frequent) user switches from Normal to Slide Sorter view very frequently because edits happen in Normal and slide ordering or reordering happen in Slide Sorter, but the two operations are not executed in bulk but by jumping back and forth, often to check that the position of the slide is OK after editing it, or that edits are consistent with the slide order. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
