** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116612] New: FORMATTING: Paragraph double line border not drawn correctly and unaligned

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116612

Bug ID: 116612
Summary: FORMATTING: Paragraph double line border not drawn
correctly and unaligned
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: riggra...@gmail.com

Description:
When a paragraph is defined with a double border, this double border is not
drawn correctly and in the corners, the union is not aligned.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new writer document
2. In the styles and formatting window, create a new style, based on text body
with right click and select New
3. In the paragraph style window, select the organizer tab, name the style as
you wish like "double line test"
4. Select the borders tab and choose Line Arrangement preset all borders
5. Select in the Line Style in the dropdown list a double border, the inner
border thin and the outer border thick.
5. Line Width 4.0 or 5.0 pt.
6. Then the OK button.

type some text and then apply the style or vice-versa

Actual Results:
The borders are drawn as one thick line, and the corners are unaligned

Expected Results:
It should draw and display a double border well aligned and joined in the
corners.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
This is related to bug 89604 I filed, that was marked as duplicate of bug 81643
that was closed recently. Maybe the last commit resolved Calc issues, but for
Writer it made it worse. So I filed a new bug with this.
I noticed that in the context help text that this borders options apply to
Writer and Calc.

I could repro this with the latest state in bibisect-win32-6.1 repo
(97d44109949a45e5022aa8ca1e51f6b54562a002, from 03-08),
but not with a fresh 6.1 master build (a541c989f07fd7cf908915a9f005d32aca6cd953
from 03-24).
There's also no issue in 6.0.2.1 / Windows 7, so it was a regression, but I'm
assuming it's been fixed. Please test with a fresh build.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116611] New: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.2.1 Crashes on Opening on Mac

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116611

Bug ID: 116611
Summary: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.2.1 Crashes on Opening on Mac
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kam3...@gmail.com

Description:
When I try to open LO on my Apple laptop, the image of the app appears in my
dock briefly and then disappears.

I then get the message, "LibreOffice quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open
the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a
report to Apple."

When I click Reopen LO successfully opens.

If I then quit the program and try to open it again, I have to go through the
same routine (error message, then click Reopen and I'm in).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Applications > LibreOffice and click to open.
2. Immediately crashes and get error report.
3. Click Reopen and it opens.
4. Quit the program.
5. Go to Applications > LibreOffice.
6. Same thing happens again.

Actual Results:
Crashes. Get message that it "quit unexpectedly".

Expected Results:
I expect to click on the program and have it open normally.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I restarted my computer, but it didn't help.

I deleted LO and reinstalled from the LibreOffice site, but that didn't fix it
either.

I entered in safe mode and was able to do so, but obviously I couldn't
"reproduce" the problem in safe mode, since the problem is in starting up the
program itself.

Then each of these issues should be reported as a separate bug, right now there
are several issues in this report that might be completely unrelated.

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon

It's (In reply to Khaled Hosny from comment #10)
> I don’t see anything RTL specific here, replacing the Hebrew text with
> English one shows the same issue.

Those are two sentences; the second is basically valid, the first isn't. If I
replace טארק with trak, the Latin letters appear in the wrong order also: I see
kart, not trak, just like in Hebrew we see טארק while in fact what's typed in
is קראט (the letters follow QWERTY on the keyboard, sort of).

So, this is an RTL issue, but it's not Hebrew-specific. And actually it's
multiple issues:

1. Letter ordering reversed
2. Typing enter can make you go up rather than down a line w.r.t. how the
letters are facing (i.e. you type Enter, type some text, and you've typed the
_previous_ line's content. A weird experience).
3. Mis-rendering: Typing or deleting some of the text occasionaly keeps a part
of the previously-rendered text still painted while it no longer exists,
supposedly.
4. The red triangle. You see it, right? I'm not imagining things... where does
that come from?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113107] [META] N'Ko language-specific RTL issues

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113107

The two open issues here are not about RTL layout, they're about N'Ko, period.

I thus propose one of the following be done:

1. Renaming this bug "N'Ko language-specific issues", and dropping the block
of RTL-CTL (specific N'Ko-related RTL issues can block that one directly as
they arise)
2.Removing issues 70792, 106775 (which are not really about RTL) and marking
this bug resolved until a relevant issue comes up.

the page by clicking on it, and then using the up cursor, when it reaches the
top paragraph the frame jumps to the previous page, and frequently this causes
blank space to be inserted..

if you try and move the frame back down again, onto the page it came from using
the arrow keys, it won't go back, just stays in the footer of the page.. very
frustrating behaviour..

The remaining “issue” is how bidirectional text algorithm works, setting the
paragraph right to left means “this is primarily a RTL text” and this has
implications on how characters with weak directionality (e.g. numbers) or
neutral (directionality) punctuation are handled. I’m not sure what is the real
use case here, but it is really bogus to set LTR text RTL and left align it and
then expect it to behave as if was set LTR.

I´ve tried several. Running under Windows I had the latest, and now I have
5.2.7.2, and other between in the laptop (5.4...). Under Ubuntu I have the same
problem. The problem is not about the program (except for the fact of CTRL+N in
two different places of the menu in 5.6 version). It´s about the help page.
In spanish, Open is "Abrir", so CTRL+A is "Abrir". So it can not be Select
text, as in the english version.
It´s hard for me to explain all this in English. It would be easier do it in my
languaje.

In a few words, all the versions I´ve tried (in Spanish) had different key
combinations that the mentioned ones in the help page.

Dieter Praas was right in asking if the background of the field in the dialog
could be dark. I would have sworn that it had changed when I changed the
document background colour (see comment #2), but I cannot reproduce it, so I
must admit that I probably beguiled myself.
B u t it can be changed when choosing a high contrast theme, as I was informed
by Regina and the person who inspired my bug report. In Windows 10 there are 3
(of 4) high contrast themes that use a black background. A person that chooses
one of these will very probably also choose a dark, although not necessarily
black, background for the documents, as did indeed my informant.
Then he will choose a light colour for the wavy line below the error in the
document, and the same colour would be certainly more appropriate in the
spelling dialog than the original red colour which does not provide much
contrast to the dark background.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116610] New: [Table styles] Styles and direct formatting get overwritten

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 116610
Summary: [Table styles] Styles and direct formatting get
overwritten
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: zyklo...@web.de

Description:
# First bug

I have a customized, empty base-document with (among other changes) the text
body font set to Linux Libertine – table styles inherit that.

So I create a new table and enter some words. Now what I see is, that these
contents have the correct style “column content”, but for some reason the
Liberation Serif font. I can select that text and re-apply the style “column
content” – now, the text gets the correct font(?), which is Linux Libertine.

# Second bug

Then I apply some direct formatting – for example making the top row
center-aligned. When I now edit the table (this bug doesn’t occur after all
actions, but for example if I delete one column), this direct formatting gets
deleted. On my other machine, also the above mentioned style gets set-back, but
somehow not on the current machine. On both machines I run Fedora 27 with the
latest LO Flatpak.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116609] New: [Table settings] Overhauling column size changes

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116609

Bug ID: 116609
Summary: [Table settings] Overhauling column size changes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: zyklo...@web.de

Description:
Imagine you have a quite big table, that fills the whole page width. Now you
want to enlarge the first column, and therefore need to make column 8 smaller.

So if you go to the table settings window and increase the size of the first
column, you will experience, that for some inexplicable reason, column two gets
scaled down…?! [Facepalm #1!] Well, I covered that in #113960. So you need to
check “Adapt table width” every time you want to modify column widths. But you
won’t be able to do that immediately, as you always have to first go to the
“Table” tab and set “Alignment = center” – every time…?! [Facepalm #2!] Well…
OK, let’s skip that. But still consider, that those required actions
conceptually belong to this bug I’m currently describing!

Now you have set “Alignment = center” and checked “Adapt table width” and try
to enlarge column one. You will see that this even now isn’t possible – instead
you have to first reduce the size of another column for being able to increase
another one. [Facepalm #3!]

This whole thing is very tedious, as the column width list in the “Columns” tab
of the table settings is very ugly. There is a whole lot of unused space below
the column width boxes – still, you have to “scroll” weirdly horizontally for
being able to modify columns #(>6). [Facepalm #4!] And for also some
inexplicable reason, we aren’t able to enlarge that settings window. [Facepalm
#5!]

So we have to first scroll to column 8, scale that down and then scroll back to
column 1 and THEN you’re able to scale that up. [Facepalm #6!]

Does that really need to be that complicated? I TOTALLY miss a concept for
settings here.

One thing that would improve that ugly experience would be, to allow a table’s
width to be larger than possible while residing in the settings window. You
then just need to highlight that constraint mismatch (maybe via red font
message) and grey out the OK button for changes not being able to take effect.
Then we at least could adapt each column in ascending order, without having to
reorder that process to “first make specific columns smaller, then make the
rest larger”.

In total, please overhaul that process completely, is this really is kind of
broken, devastating and daunting.

Thanks a lot Miguel!

I expected the buttons within the manage dialog and did not see, that it's
possible to add multiple rules within one section.

Mea culpa!

And as I tested: The list order represents the priorisation of the rules. The
topmost matching rule will be used (if condition is matched). May be it would
be a good idea to advise the users, that the rules in the list are not
processed from top till down, as I first thought.

Nice weekend to all! :-)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113960] [Tables] Adapting table width by default

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113960

I beg you, please fix that bug. This week I had to edit some tables and the
experience was incredible annoying.

First problem is, that both settings “Alignment = center” and “Adapt table with
= true” don’t get saved. …or get overwritten?

So after about every modification of column widths, the alignment of that table
gets weirdly displaced.

Second issue is, that the insertion or the removal of a column completely
changes all(?!) column widths, as there obviously applys the constraint, that
the table width has to stay the same…?! This logic is totally uncomprehensible,
is this would just replicate a special case for e.g. text-embedded tables, that
should not modify the text layout and therefore have to retain the size.

In total, for altering a column, I always need several minutes for adapting all
the widths again – as these have to keep exact widths for avoiding line breaks.
I don’t understand this.

Could you please invest some time into this bug? Today I had to move around
several parts of enumerations and that was a pretty horrible experience,
because almost everytime I had to fix the indentation afterwards.

I use a list style for enumarations and after moving fore example one part
around, which contains a heading and a following itemization, the heading got
itemized too. Plus I had the problem, that "Ctrl + 0" didn’t work anymore, so
the bullet wasn’t removed from the heading when I formatted it as "text body"
(what normally works fine). That seems to me, that the whole structure gets
corrupted. I attach two screencast, that show you what I mean.

Please implement unit tests! As this got worse with releases 5 and 6!

Old limit was relative to font size (see code removed in the commit above), new
limit is hard-coded to -1. Parts of the old code should be restored to restore
the old behavior.

GIMP on Windows uses MS layout engine, so that is not a surprise, not sure
about Photoshop though.

> There is Adobe Indesign CS5, to be

The link is about final not isolated heh, but it also shows that it was an
issue in the font not the application, which further shows that the current
behavior is intentional. You are really wasting your time here, Adobe is one
you need to complain to since they designed the font to behave this way.

All that commit does is disable kerning when asked to do so, which is
supposedly was the intended behavior at some point in time before we started
using HarfBuzz on Linux and then everywhere. If some higher level component is
enabling/disabling things incorrectly, then there is nothing we can do at VCL
level.

You have to use a decimal percentage value, like 1.5 for example.

It sort of works with whole percentages, but it likes to convert numbers to the
thousands when you switch from decimal to percentage formatting.

It's all very confusing behavior.

2018-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107405

Not clear how the .UI's -2 entry [1] is actually applied. As font size
increases the reduced spacing is increased proportionally. So it is not an
absolute -2 point unit. It is being scaled.

That handling needs to be understood before simply increasing the minimum value
in the UI spinbox. Concern would be what happens to smaller font sizes when the
negative Spacing is set larger than the font size? Will it happily just compose
each glyph on top of the preceeding--or will it crash?
