What GTK+ theme are you using? Does the problem happen in other GTK+ apps when
you use that theme?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117594] Latest 6.0.4 won't install in .deb

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117594

Well, apparently you had some .deb file for Google Earth lying around that got
installed when you ran “dpkg -i *.deb”. As you can see, the “*” in the command
is a wildcard, so it’ll match any filename in the directory where you ran the
command, as long as it ends in “.deb”.

Ensure, before you run dpkg, that your terminal is in the correct directory.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

Please mark this bug Trivial, not worth attention. I've switched from Debian
Stable/Stretch back to Ubuntu, and the issue does not occur in current versions
(below) of Debian/Ubuntu or LibreOffice:

~$ libreoffice --version
LibreOffice 6.0.3.2 00m0(Build:2)
Version: 6.0.3.2
Build ID: 1:6.0.3-0ubuntu1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: x11;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

~$ lsb_release -d ; uname -r ; gnome-shell --version ; echo $DESKTOP_SESSION
Description:Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
4.15.0-20-generic
GNOME Shell 3.28.1
ubuntu-wayland

Glad to be back on Ubuntu, btw, and that the Wayland/Mir conflict is over.
Ubuntu is definitely Debian with corporate polish.

This issue is no longer applicable to 6.0 and beyond, because we dropped that
background. There were several other issues related to accessibility that it
wasn’t worth it keeping it around.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88927] Trusted timestamping for digital signature in ODF

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88927

Hello Xisco Faulí,

Sorry for my late replying. After I saw my bug marked unconfirmed, I have given
up following it. I noticed it is reactivated now.

When I reported this bug, I had a digital certificate. But it expired, and I
didn't renew it. So I can't test it. I have LibreOffice 6.0.4.2 installed on my
Windows and it says 'Maintain a list of Time Stamping Authority URLs to be used
for digital signatures in PDF export.' in Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice ->
Security -> TSAs. What I understand form that description and from Samuel
Mehrbrodt's comment is, trusted timestamping still cannot be applied for
OpenDocument files.

Thank you.

This would be a duplicate of a report with a patch applied in the last daily
build (on the 8th)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116980

I just tested the example file with that build and the migration function works
as expected.

Since there doesn't seem to be a later build for testing I'll set this as
duplicate issue.

I don't see an earlier bug report for this, so setting this to new.

Same error code is displayed whether the form was made before migration or a
simpler form using a link field afterwards:

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I can confirm that the form does work in 6.1, and that it does work as expected
under 6.0.3. (64bit linux both)

Attempting to create a form in 6.1 (firebird sdbc) from scratch fails also, so
not really a migration script error IMO.

I think there is an issue for the sub form bug already, I'll look for it and
tag this to that if so.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88601] LO BASE: Failure to correctly interpret range for UNSIGNED integers from MySQL database (jdbc and native connectors) [summary in comment 9]

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88601

Since this post is reported in 2015-Jan,
I wonder how is the test result in latest environment.

Test Environment:
OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

libreoffice 5.4.6.2 (2018-05-15)
Build ID: 4014ce260a04f1026ba855d3b8d91541c224eab8

mysql Distrib 5.7.22 (2018-01-15 General Availability)

mysql-connector-java-8.0.11.jar (2018-04-18)

Test Table:

CREATE TABLE Table1 (
Field1 tinyint unsigned NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (Field1) )

Detail:
Insert row from LO-base. No problem with value from 0 to 255.
If I trying to insert value outside of 0 to 255.
L0-base will block you with error message.

But if I trying to reopen this table when there is a row with value from 128 to
255, the table will fail to load with the following error message :
" The data content could not be loaded.
'234' in column '1' is outside valid range for the datatype TINYINT."

This only happened when this column is set as UNSINGED and PRIMARY KEY.

This is my very first comment in Bugzilla.
Any advice is welcome.

The LibreOffice is configured for English (US) UI, and Russian (default)
locale.

When I apply a cardinal (and ordinal) numbering to a text which is English, the
preview is still in Locale language (Russian). (Ordinal lists have problems
with Russian - see bug 117584). I suppose that current text language should be
used instead.

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 117586

   Product: LibreOffice

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

The ordinal indicators (1st, 2nd, ...) and names (First, Second, ...) are not
properly displayed in Writer text set to Russian. In the case of names, a
number (1, 2, ...) is displayed. In case of indicators, a dot is displayed
after the number (thus, having "Separator After: ." by default, two dots are
shown).

I suppose it might be the same problem as in bug 117584, where the preview
might want to display the numbering localized to the LO locale, but still I
file it separately just in case.

Description:
Even with selecting portrait and appearing as portrait a document prints
sideways and incompletely on my Epson WF 2540. I have no problems printing in
Pages and did not have problems in previous version of Libre Office. I updated
Libre office when I updated my Mac OS system to the latest version. I have used
Libre Office for PC and MAC for years as it makes easy transfers of document
from my PC to my MAC and vice versa via Dropbox. I also use spreadsheet and
presentation regularly. I have done mailing labels from spreadsheet via
database regularly for years. It's so easy.

It printed it partially sideways as if attempting landscape but with portrait
margins.

Sorry, I mean *ods file, in calc module.

Once you have choozen a language with right click on bottom toolbar (it works
in 6.1 version not in any 6.0.x), enter any text with spell mistakes in any
cell.
Mistakes, should be red underligned. As I did not notice this behavior, I
opened "Abc" menu on top toolbar and got what you see in attachement named
"Spellcheck doesn't work".
Text language is empty, it should be French, the list where to chooze the
language is empty. No mistake is found.

Thanks for your help.

First example with formatting removed

Here is the first example edited in Word 2016 to remove the direct formatting.
This example demonstrates the underlying problem which is independent of commit
18cbb8fe699131a234355e1d00fa917fede6ac46: the letters in the fields are smaller
in LibreOffice than in Word, with or without that commit.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117501] FILEOPEN: DOCX: Incorrect field character style

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117501

Thanks you for finding this with your office-interoperability-tools work Xisco!

I think the underlying issue in attachment 90710 existed prior to commit
18cbb8fe699131a234355e1d00fa917fede6ac46.

This is about an old equation editing feature in Word described here:
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/murrays/2018/01/23/microsoft-word-eq-field/

This example document uses such an "equation" to draw a superscript "x "
superimposed upon a subscript " a".

While LibreOffice does not in general handle this old equation syntax, it does
have a special case which can handle this example. It imports it as a "Combine
characters" field, a field intended for use with Asian languaes where several
character are arranged in a grid occupying the space of a single character.
This handling existed in the ww8(doc) filter inherited from StarOffice at the
beginning of our git history, and it was reused in the docx import for bug
66400 in commit 5342cd7533a51fd488de85565674ee01649ddcbc

The problem is that a "Combine characters" field containing 4 characters will
show each character at half of its normal height/width (quarter of the area).
However the Word equation does not reduce the size of the letters at all.

This problem was hidden in the example here, because there was direct
formatting placed upon the text prior to the field to double the font size.
This direct formatting was *not* applied to the field itself in Word, however
due to bug tdf#107035 this direct formatting was wrongly applied to the field
in LibreOffice. This resulted in the field's font size being doubled, which
exactly compensated for the problem I described in the previous paragraph.

Now that tdf#107035 is fixed, the problem in the equation import is no longer
hidden.

Mike Kaganski changed:

What you describe is not a bug, but user error. You seem to have worked with
*temporary* files created by an external program (e.g., by double-clicking an
attachment in a message, editing the opened file, and saving in-place). The
place where that external application places its temporary files might be
cleared by that application without notice. The crash you describe might well
be caused by such cleanup happening when you worked with such temporary file
(e.g., that app could erase a lockfile, which was not possible with 4.x and
some 5.x versions).

You should have cared to save your important data to a place where it is safe
(e.f., to My Documents folder). LibreOffice indeed keeps track of files which
you have lately worked with (i.e., it remembers where they were), but if they
are not there, it doesn't have in-built magic to make them appear.

I highly doubt that there's something you can do now with the absent files.
Even file recovery utilities would be useless in case of a system disk (where
all system IO takes place constantly), after you have rebooted the system
several times.

Anyway, your issue is not a proper bug report/feature request, which are only
on-topics on this site. Closing RESOLVED INVALID.

You can try a Windows search of all odt files in
C:\Users\francesca\AppData\Local\Packages

Then create a distinct directory, for example in "My Docs" and save your files
here.
Indeed, the previous directory seems to be used for Windows apps like Outlook.

Also, check the available space on your hard disk just to be sure you've got
enough room.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117578] New: impossible to open some files, reported as "non existent "

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117578

Bug ID: 117578
Summary: impossible to open some files, reported as "non
existent"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4 all versions
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fre.hm...@gmail.com

Description:
yesterday the app crashed and did not open for a very long time. i had to
switch on and off the device twice in order to make it work properly. however,
since this morning, some of my most important files do not open when i click on
the icon in the folder "recent files". the individual icons of the single files
appear only among the recently opened documents, but is no longer among the
saved ones.
I request immediate assistance as those files are crucial for upcoming exams
and are impossible to re-write ex novo.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. click on the icon of a specific file that I've been writing on for months
now
2. wait for the file to open with all of the last modifications where they
should be

Actual Results:
the file does not open, and after a few minutes a notice appears telling that
"C:\Users\francesca\AppData\Local\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Files\S0\618\INGLESE
PENTAMESTRE.odt non esiste.", which means, translated into english, that the
file does not exist.

Expected Results:
the file opens and I am able to go on writing without issues

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
the files i am not able to open without getting the above notice are the most
recently opened ones, as i had been writing on them until yesterday morning.
again, i insist to receive immediate help because those documents are
considerably important and I have been wotking on them for months. moreover, i
cannot pass the upcoming exams without them.

I worked with https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117576 bug.
I simply closed all opened documents, that I was working for very long time
without closing program (I suspended computer to RAM many times). There was no
error while closing.
After restarting LibreOffice, it just proposed to send this bug report.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50879] form exported as pdf does not embed all required fonts

2018-05-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50879

macOS 10.13.4
Libreoffice 5.2.7.2

The issue shows up here too.

Repro:
- Create writer document
- Add form elements (I use text fields and checkboxes)
- Make sure the form elements use a non standard font that would have to be
embedded when exporting as PDF
- Make sure File/Properties/Font embed fonts is checked
- save
- file/export as pdf
- under "General" options, make sure "Create PDF Form" is ticked
- Export

- Open PDF in Acrobat Reader
- Open File/Properties
- check "Font" tab
- find the used font

Expected:
Font is found as we embedded it.

Actual:
"Actual Font: Unknown"

the issue doe *not* show up choosing the "Archive PDF/A-1a..." option in export
PDF dialogue. Unfortunately this option does not allow to "Create PDF Form",
which is mandatory for us.
