[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118003] New: Date format autocorrecting only on certain dates
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118003 Bug ID: 118003 Summary: Date format autocorrecting only on certain dates Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: davidpierce...@gmail.com I noticed something really odd with the auto-correct for dates in LibreOffice Calc. When I would input dates in a mm-dd-yy format, sometimes it would auto correct to mm/dd/yy format in the cell, and a mm/dd/ format in the bar above the cell. This would be fine, except that it only does this some of the time. I've done a little bit of research and I think this behaviour is exclusive to cases where day is between 1 and 11, and the year is between 1 and 31. For instance, when I input 06-01-18 , in would be corrected to 06/01/18 while 05-31-18 would remain unchanged. I have tried turning off the AutoInput tool with no effect. When I use the Format As Date tool (ctrl-shift-3) the date is changed from 06/01/18 to what I assume is an arbitrary number signifying the date in the code. For instance 06/01/18 is reverted to 43252, 06/02/18 reverts to 432523 etc. Using the same tool on 05-31-18 changed nothing. In the grand scheme of things this is a minor issue, more annoying than anything else, in testing I found that I can put a [ ' ] character in front of the date and the format will not change, nor will the character show in the cell. But I thought I should still let you know. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117906] Fileopen DOCX: Vertical Text in Tables incorrectly positioned
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117906 --- Comment #5 from Mark Hung --- (In reply to Luke from comment #4) > The text that is correctly positioned uses > Table Format->Text Flow->Text Orientation = "Vertical" > > The incorrectly positioned vertical text uses: > Table Format->Text Flow->Text Orientation = "Horizontal" > with a Character->Position->Rotation = 90 > > > One approach to fixing this might be to add a new Vertical 90, Text Flow > option. Otherwise, we'd probably need a special compatibility mode to avoid ODF allows writing-mode to be "tb-lr" in table cells[1] and it is already supported. One can manually crafts odt files and they format correctly. On the page level, it's enabled by Khaled Hosny[2]. So I think it's good to add "Vertical(Left-to-Right)" for text orientation option. We can create another EDITING issue for this. > regressions in ODT that use character rotation in tables. What regression do you mean? I speculate that import filter for doc format try to emulate vertical (left-to-right) with character rotation. We should use tb-lr directly. Still need further investigation on this. > > Mark, > You're working on this area now. Any thoughts on this? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117999] New: Invalid behaviour when inserting references to numbered paragraphs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117999 Bug ID: 117999 Summary: Invalid behaviour when inserting references to numbered paragraphs Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: antoniak.pi...@gmail.com Description: Trying to prepare numbered reference list as a list of numbers in brackets, like this [1]. To obtain it I customized a list style adding "before" and "after" section. Then, trying to insert a reference to numbered Paragraph, with no context, I got [1], [2], etc, which is obviously incorrect. The fun part is not specifying "before" section. Then the list is numbered like this "1]", "2]", etc, but the reference is correct and consist a number only. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open new text document, 2.Create a short paragraph of random text, 3.Create a list of numbered items (apply, i.e., Numbering123 style to it), 4.Modify the applied style adding before and after fields to obtain numbering like this [1], 5.Insert a reference to any of the numbered item from the list. Use "Number (no context)" reference type. Actual Results: [1], [2], etc. Expected Results: 1, 2, etc Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: The actual problem is when you want insert a range of such numbered item, i.e. [1-10]. Instead of expected [1-10] one gets [[1]-[10]] which is incorrect. Great =) > I don't see "absolute cycle counts" or "total", I only got file name + > "Total Instruction Fetch Cost" in the bottom status bar and I can't > right click on it. That's fine. > I sorted by "Called", the most called is rtl_uString_release (162 582 170) > but I suppose it could be expected. Right - when you look at any profile there is a ton of methods like that being called a very large number of times. I personally always use the "callee map" - I select the 'main' function on the left and then see what is going on in the callee map - you can click there to drill down. When you're getting near the bottom (don't try near the top of the stack) the 'call graph' thing can be rather useful. It's all a great way to explore who calls whom in the code =) HTH. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117967] On Linux LibreOffice doesn't protect users from accidental content overwrite when a file, opened in a LibreOffice window, was updated outside of that window.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117967 --- Comment #3 from yury.dubin...@gmail.com --- Hello, Jean-Baptiste, This is a design bug. LO behavior is consistent, but wrong from my point of view. Your scenario is right, just it is incomplete. Please, add to more steps: 9/ press cancel 10/ press ctrl+S again. At this point you will not get any confirmation, the content B/foo.odt will be saved. The program should confirm with users every time when the timestamp is old. Also, please, take a look at step 4. open B/foo.odt. Why is the symbolic link opened as an independent file? The advanced text editors on Linux easily recognize symbolic links and process symbolic links as target files. I mean such editors as gvim/vim, emacs, geany, visual studio code, kate, and many more. In my career I was presenting Linux and LO to few small offices, and I know many real cases when users, with Windows background, lost content. Let’s take another look at your scenario from human perspective. Step 8: an user, familiar with Windows shortcuts, could be not aware that B/foo.odt is a symbolic link. Getting a warning message will entirely surprise this user. Then, normal actions from users are: cancel saving and rapidly move all changes made in B/foo.odt to A/foo.odt. Both windows have to same title, so, it's very easy to make a mistake and press ctrl+S in the wrong window. Especially when users can assume that in case of a wrong window LO will warn again. However, LO doesn't do it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Thank you Michael for your feedback. I got KCacheGrind 0.8.0 (from Debian testing). I unchecked "Relative" (must correspond to %) + "Cycle detection". I don't see "absolute cycle counts" or "total", I only got file name + "Total Instruction Fetch Cost" in the bottom status bar and I can't right click on it.
