[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118075] New: ms-ttf corefonts are installed, but not listed/usable in Libre Office

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118075

Bug ID: 118075
Summary: ms-ttf corefonts are installed, but not listed/usable
in Libre Office
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: schachg...@gmail.com

Running Mint 19 Cinnamon beta, with the 4.15 kernel.
Default install included ms-ttf corefonts, as well as a large number of foreign
fonts including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and a bunch of other fonts which
shouldn't be taking up space on my machine I chose ENGLISH and ENGLISH keyboard
during the install but I digress.

Libre Office pull down font menu shows a few fonts in English, but mostly
foreign fonts and everything ms-ttf corefonts are missing.

I tried uninstalling ms-ttf, reboot, reinstall ms-ttf, reboot, clear and
rebuild the font cache no luck.

Totally irrelevant (or should be so) my IP address is actually in Mexico, and
my DNS servers formerly in Mexico City until I switched to Google DNS although
I am in Tijuana (Pacific Time, not Baja Calif time). The IP and time zone has
confused Windows 10, as well as Libre Office on both Ubuntu and Mint in past
releases - it thinks I want Spanish spell check. Perhaps this is related to
Libre Office thinking I'm in Asia or the middle east?

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117999] Invalid behaviour when inserting references to numbered paragraphs

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117999

(In reply to Dieter Praas from comment #3)
> Sorry, you're right. behaviour is different from other numbered lists. So I
> would support to make it consistent, but I'm still not sure about the way to
> reach consistency.

Also I do not any idea how to ensure full consistency. But, since I do not know
how users will use the numbered lists, I would let them to decide.

I use LibreOffice since it's very beginning (earlier I used to use OpenOffice)
and I have never had any problem with the numbered paragraphs format. Until
now. The publisher requested all "sequential" references (I mean [1], [2], [3])
to be presented in a form of a "range" format (like [1-3]). At the same time
the publisher wants the references to be formatted as a numbered list decorated
with square brackets ([1]. Smith J., The only authorized biography of John
Nash, Washington, etc.). And I am not able to meet these requirements because:
1. If I add an square bracket as a "before" part of a numbering format, best I
can get is [1]-[3], which if obviously wrong because the publisher DO NOT
tolerate the inner brackets,
2. If I do not add the bracket the list is numbered but, of course, without
brackets ;)

I am stucked. Do I really need to remove all references and replace it with a
text? In the year of 2018? Really?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115464] UI of export to PNG and JPG misleading for resolution

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

> - There is no need for radio buttons, it should be a play between 3 values
> where you can change any of those depending on what you want to know.

That's true, but it requires some experimenting to understand what is going on.

Radio buttons could be used to indicate what is kept fixed.
In this case, what is grayed out would be reversed with respect to Heiko
proposition:

if size is "fixed", it is grayed out,
dpi can be changed, which automatically changes pixels
or
pixels can be changed, which automatically changes dpi

if dpi is "fixed", it is grayed out,
pixels can be changed, which automatically changes size
or
size can be changed, which automatically changes pixels

if pixels is "fixed", it is grayed out,
size can be changed, which automatically changes dpi
or
dpi can be changed, which automatically changes size

This would be clearer, IMO.

> In almost all cases users only care about pixels, but sometimes you want to

As an example, for publications, the most common usage
is that we know the physical size that fits the column width,
and also know the dpi that the editor expects.
The number of pixels is really secondary.
Actually, for a vector graphics software, I would expect this to be the
most common usage during png export.

> - Information is a lame guesstimate, almost always wrong currently. Who

> (like in compress image dialog)

Having an expected png file size information would be very helpful.

In method SwTwips SwFlowFrame::CalcUpperSpace if we add 10 to "nUpper" right
before returning under the following condition:

if (pPrevFrame && pPrevFrame->IsTextFrame()) {
const SwTextFrame *pTextFrame = static_cast< const SwTextFrame * >(
pPrevFrame );
if (pTextFrame) {
if (pTextFrame->GetTextNode()) {
if(pTextFrame->GetTextNode()->HasBullet()) {
nUpper += 20;
}
}
}
}

The problem goes away.

Surely, what we are doing here is to just make an arbitrary addition on nUpper.
I did so for testing purposes only. I'll try to think about something based on
the font metrics of such text node (probably external leading).

The good thing: this fix solves the problem and doesn't breaks any test! So, I
think we are really close to fix now.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118052] Libreoffice cannot copy paste from VirtualBox hosted Windows XP VM with 5.4.7

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118052

@dudemr, I'm OK with closing this out WFM but could you let us know if with
your VirtualBox instance(s) you had installed the Guest Addition for XP (hosted
as VBoxGuestAdditions_.iso for all OSs [1, 2]).

VMWare Workstation has a similar requirement to install its VMWare Tools, which
I do routinely. Poked around and found that Oracle's VirtualBox had a similar
requirement needed to control UI features between host and guest like clipboard
and GPU/monitor display tweaking.

On which env are you?
For the test, could you give a try to last stable LO version 6.0.4?

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118074

Bug ID: 118074
Summary: Saving documents not only in documents but also are
showing up as buttons on monitor screen
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: marlo...@gmail.com

Just a few days ago this started, when I save a document it shows up as usual
with quick access BUT it also shows up as a button on my computer screen.
Wanting to remove these buttons off my screen by deleting them it also deletes
the document on file so I loose the documents.
What can be done to correct this situation? I have not touched/changed any
settings.

Actual Results:
It keeps repeating every time I save a document

Expected Results:
I just want to save my documents in the usual place as before

Reproducible: Always

Testing from Windows 10 Ent 64-bit en-US (ver 1803) with VMWare Workstation Pro
12.5.8 and a Windows XP Sp3 32-bit guest VM.

Nirsoft InsideClipboard installed to VM and to Host.

Clipboard Linkage across to VMWare hosting framework looks to just support
Clipboard Format ID 13 CF_UNICODETEXT

>From a Firefox session running on VM a copy of styled content from a web page
posts Clipboard Format ID 1, 13, 49331, 49486, 49487, 49488, and 49489.
Crossing the VMWare bridge just ID 13 content is posted to clipboard of the
host.

Likewise, from a Firefox session running on the Win 10 host, copy of style
content from the same web pages posts Clipboard Format ID 1, 13, 49409, 49882,
49883, 49884, 49885

Working with LibreOffice.

>From a LO 5.4.7.2 session running on VM, a copy of formatted paragraph of text
from Writer populates the VMs clipboard with ID 1, 13, 49331, 49372, 49430,
49528, 49529, 49530, 49531. And here the host clipboard picks up just the IDs
CF_UNICODETEXT and Rich Text Format clipboard content passed back to the host.

And copy of the same formatted DT entry from a LibreOffice 6.1.0.0alpha1
session on the host places Clipboard IDs 1, 13, 49296, 49409, 49338, 49912,
49915, 49918, 49919 -- with the same CF_UNICODE and Rich Text Format clipboard
content passed to the guest XP.

So, at least with VMWare Workstation--the clipboard is bidirectional, but does
limit what content is passed between host and guest OS. And otherwise, the
content on the clipboard(s) will be dependent on the VM hosting framework.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118073] New: LibreOffice Basic freezes when line ends with "0."

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118073

Bug ID: 118073
Summary: LibreOffice Basic freezes when line ends with "0."
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bon...@hotmail.com

Description:
LibreOffice Basic cannot handle a line ending with "0.".

If you enter this text in the editor, it will freeze as soon as it has to parse
the text you have entered (e.g. if you try to run the macro, or save the file).

Pre-existing documents that have macros like this will free LibreOffice when
you attempt to "Organize Macros", when it parses the text to extract runable
Sub names, or when you try to save the file. This means it isn't the editor,
specifically, that has the problem, but the parsing of the code.

Note that "1." is fine, "0" is fine, "0.1" is fine. It is specifically "0."
that causes the problem. Appending a comment, like "0.'comment" does cause the
freeze.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start new LibreOffice Calc document
2. Create a new LibreOffice Basic macro (Tools/Macros/Organize
Macros/LibreOffice Basic, select the document (eg "Untitled1") in the tree,
click New to create a module, accept the default "Module1" name. Editor opens.
3. Under "Sub Main", type "a = 0."
4. Click the "run" button (or, I think, any other way to attempt to run the
macro).

Actual Results:
LibreOffice freezes, using a full cpu core. Never recovers and must be killed.

Expected Results:
Macro runs and LibreOffice continues to exist.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115464] UI of export to PNG and JPG misleading for resolution

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #6)
> The RBs make it clear that values change depending on each other. That's the
> essence of this request.

No, the RB's do exactly the opposite. The unselected mean they are irrelevant,
disabled, which is exactly what they aren't. Noone does is like this - gimp,
inkscape, krita, karbon.

> > In almost all cases users only care about pixels
>
> I never do and don't know users who think like "This drawing should have
> 87346832 pixels to fit nicely into my document with good printing output"

We are dealing here with bitmap images - their pixel dimensions (width and
height) is the most important information. The logical size and DPI is in best
case included in the meta-data as a hint.

http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/mythdpi.html

Actually, looking at Karbon (see attachment 142619) - it has the ideal UI for
that.

Pixels first, then logical units and resolution.

I can appreciate that it's not really your problem since there is a version of
w10 that can copy paste with virtual box running.

Thank you for the responses and the effort. I will use the unit that works.
Please consider the issue closed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118072] New: Format Paragraph is not showing Tabs

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118072

Bug ID: 118072
Summary: Format Paragraph is not showing Tabs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: p.wibber...@btinternet.com

Selecting Format.Paragraph sometimes presents 9 tabs, starting with "Indents
and Spacing" and ending with "Transparency", and with "Tabs" between "Outline &
Numbering" and "Drop Caps". However, sometimes, particularly when selecting
more than one paragraph, Format.Paragraph shows only 8 tabs, with the "Tabs"
tab missing.

It may be that different paragraphs in the selection have different tab
settings but this may be equally true of other properties, such as indents and
spacing. Hence, it's not clear why the "Tabs" tab (and only the "Tabs" tab) is
omitted.

Thanks and regards

I just tried this again in response to seeing this comment -- and before the
aggro of an install from DEBs (actually, with GDebi installer, not so much of a
pain, I suppose).

But it works today. I checked version, thinking something must have updated,
but it's the same OS, and the same LibO version. So whatever it might be,
opening a file remotely from Google Drive now (well, today!) is working.

Did find the problem

In D5 there is formula and in D6 the number 6 when merging this together you
see only the sum formula, split the cell's D5 and D6 and you will see the error

So not a bug its a WFM

If you not agree you can reopen it as unconfirmed

Jacques: your attachment 141886 is of the other chart. Of course, the reporter
should have removed the other chart to avoid confusion.

However, if I recreate the chart with MNO columns, there is no problem.

Heiko: can you try recreating it with 6.x?

I can confirm that is still happening in version: 6.0.4.2 - Build:
1:6.0.4~rc2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 with xslx files.

I'm using LibreOffice Calc on Linux Mint 18.1 - 64bit.

I've also had problems with a PHP mime-type validator and I can also output the
wrong mime-type using the file cli program:

file -i test-file-oo6.xlsx
test-file-oo6.xlsx: application/octet-stream; charset=binary

And if I run the same command against a Google Drive Spreadsheet file or MS
Excel file saved as xslx the output is for the mime-type is:

application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet;
charset=binary

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118069] New: Adding multiple spanned cells causes addition error

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118069

Bug ID: 118069
Summary: Adding multiple spanned cells causes addition error
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.6.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ho...@greenmuon.org

Description:
A spreadsheet has lots of numbers in many rows in one column. The next column
right adds up sequential ranges of rows to get a number. Another column to the
right of the second one adds up the second one's results to get further sums.
That third column starts producing incorrect results after the first few
additions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load the attached "DiceRolling.ods" file in Calc.
2. Look at the additions being performed in cells F6, F9, F13, and F18
3. Compare the results of F9, F13, & F18 with what they should be (noted in
column G for those rows.)

Actual Results:
1+3+6 = 10 (that's OK)
1+3+6+10 = 26 (should be 20)
1+3+6+10+15 = 41 (should be 35)
1+3+6+10+15+21 = 62 (should be 56)

Expected Results:
See note above for actual versus correct results.

Reproducible: Always

Xisco, is this really a regression from that commit? What is really broken here
is the spacing between list items and it was already broken before

(In reply to dudemr from comment #6)
> Are you telling me that the problem is not repeatable on your test systems?
>

Your configuration running Windows XP on a VirtualBox machine makes it
challenging for anyone to replicate. Few if any will be able to repeat.

We also need more precise steps to reproduce--unclear even which clipboard
(host OS or guest XP has keyboard/mouse focus). Lots of moving pieces.

> I cannot install a clipboard viewer.

YOU need to as it is required data point to determine if the system clipboard
(both the host OS, and the guest OS) correctly receives the copied content to
make it available for paste.

Prove the content is available to both clipboards! Are the clipboards (host and
guest VM) in sync? That NEEDINFO is to you.

We have to determine if your lack of context menu connection to clipboard on
the host OS is simply a VirtualBox issue? Installing a clipboard viewer to both
host and guest VM is needed to diagnose. Do other applications running on the
host behave when the XP VM is running?

Also, unclear if you are having the paste issue in the VM or in the host OS?
Would need to know which has keyboard/mouse focus.

Does this only affect the host when a XP guest OS is running hosted by
VirtualBox?

Otherwise--if the VM hosting of a currently active build (6.0, 6.1 or
6.2/master) on a supported VM (Windows 7 sp1, 8.1 or 10) actually has this
issue--it can be addressed.

I can test a VMWare VM, I probably won't test VirtualBox. At this point this is
"needsVirtualBox needsXP", we'll adjust that if not the case.

If VirtualBox on Windows 10 hosting XP VM with a 5.4 build is the only
constant, for certain we WONTFIX as XP is unsupported and 5.4 is EOL--and
frankly looks to be not our bug.

@Xisco--any take for running this down?

--- Comment #2 from Emersson Augusto Suarez Ortiz ---
Hi to everyone. Xisco, when I say 'Ctr + *' it mean just that, if you use this
command, the sheet will select all the cells whit some kind of information, but
if you use the command 'Ctr + A' or 'Ctr + E' (Spanish version) the sheet will
select all the cells.

But if you want to select only the cells with information or data and you have
a merged cells (vertically, cause horizontally it works great), the command
'Ctr + *' is not working as it supposed to be, cause instead to select ALL the
cells with data, it will stop until the merged cells.

I attach a new file where you can try.

Hi,

I cannot reproduce this using
Version: 6.0.4.2 (x64)
Build-ID: 9b0d9b32d5dcda91d2f1a96dc04c645c450872bf
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL

and MSO Word 2016 O365.

Which version do you use (LibreOffice)? Can you try 6.0.X?

Jose: it seems your proposal would also solve the request of bug 89477,
correct?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118062] cannot find & replace a "("

2018-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118062

--- Comment #2 from Xavier Van Wijmeersch ---
I never use find and replace on formulae.

1 select exp. X21 to X31
2 go to cell X21 make your change; F to W
3 press alt+enter

and all the selected cell will change the wrong formula in to the right formula

regards
