[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97815] switching to English function names does not work with Add-In functions

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97815

I have permanently installed the LO 5.4.7. (It is not a portable version.) It
was installed by the Hungarian language installer file.
I often use the English user interface (for the English OpenOffice/LibreOffice
forum), but in these cases the locale settings still Hungarian im my office
suite...
The attached picture shows: When I switch the office suite to English user
interface, and the Calc function names to English, then some German function
names appeared.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118337] New: Evenly fill space between repeated character-fill in number formats

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118337

Bug ID: 118337
Summary: Evenly fill space between repeated character-fill in
number formats
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.beta2+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu
Blocks: 105720

Created attachment 143061
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=143061=edit
Screenshot

This is mainly used when left-aligning currency symbols. Sample spreadsheet:
attachment 130869
Currently the spreadsheet looks like the attached screenshot: the symbols are
more or less aligned, but there's some variance, which doesn't look great .
This occurs because left-alignment is achieved via character fill, and if the
font isn't monospaced, alignment won't be even.

For reference, the specification proposal mentions:
"Fill characters may not fill all the available space in a cell. The
distribution of the remaining space is implementation dependent."
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/ODF_Implementer_Notes/List_of_LibreOffice_ODF_Extensions#Support_for_repeating_codes_in_number_formats_for_calc
https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3765

If not too difficult, the best way would be to spread the remaining space
evenly between fill characters.

Since Mysql connector doesn't indicate an error, I wonder if we shouldn't test
the query in mysqlc_statement.cxx to check if it contains a "select type" only
(or perhaps it'd be simpler to check it doesn't contain update or delete).
I suppose since these keywords may be included in some table names, we should
use a parser.(I don't know how to do it but hope there may be something
simpler).
May https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/55960/ change things here?

This "text along path" is a property of the shape, not of the text.

Renaming would be good. And it would be good to have it in the UI in Draw,
because you need it to label connectors.

@Jordi: what is the style of page used in your document? In some case the
insertion of a new chapter beginning at a new page may introduce a blank page
if the new chapter must start on an odd (right) page.

Please, attach a test file with which adding a page break causes this weird
behavior.

Status set to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested
informations are provided.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118336] New: Wrong statement about Fontwork

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118336

Bug ID: 118336
   Summary: Wrong statement about Fontwork
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.4 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
   URL: https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Fontwork_1
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de
CC: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org

In https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Fontwork_1 is the text

This Fontwork dialog is only available for Fontwork in old Writer text
documents that were created prior to OpenOffice.org 2.0.

That is wrong. The Fontwork was always available and is still available. It is
the tool, which you need to get text along a path. It is mainly used to label
connectors.

You must first call Tools - Customize to add a menu command or an icon to open
this dialog.

That is right, but not helpful because a search for `Fontwork` has three
results. You need to mention, that the command is in the category "Format".

The top row contains the following baseline shapes: Upper Semicircle, Lower
Semicircle, Left Semicircle and Right Semicircle.

The middle row contains the following baseline shapes: Upper Arc, Lower Arc,
Left Arc and Right Arc.

The bottom row contains the following baseline shapes: Open Circle, Closed
Circle, Closed Circle II, and Open Circle Vertical. For the best results, the
drawing object must contain more than two lines of text.

That part of the dialog has long time been removed. The corresponding
attributes which are used before ODF, are no longer written.

I re-tested both attached documents in LO6.1.0 beta2 and the released LO 6.0.5
on Win64 and both worked for me there too with respect to PDF export.
(So ignore my above question about backporting ...)

What still does not work is the correct import of such documents (containing
cropped OOC photos) created from Gramps. Obviously this is a separate issue
which should be tackled in a separate ticket.

Whose for did you believe Comment 4 to be? It could not be for any reporter for
sure. I would just suggest you not guessing too much since there is no need for
this here at Canonical and to stick to the very report description as I would
have done as a developer and even as it was the case for Comment 1, despite of
course answer to part of it was deliberately omitted.

Proposal is for enhancement; regarding 'Author information from User data
First/last name/initials field''it turned out that there is no less than two
decent issues since Properties --> General, Reset Properties had to be invoked
in order to get the application work as intended, and in Properties -->
Custom-properties, properties added were just non-existent in PDF-information.

Are there any chances the responsible bug fix gets backported to the 6.1 or 6.0

(I spent literally hours working around this bug today on the current LO

P.S. Is "WORKSFORME" really the right solution here? It did not work on the

Shows slide 2 selected and incorrect page indicator

A Impress template generally opens with the first slide selected and the
indicator in the lower left corner states, "Slide 1 of x"; x being the number
of slides in the presentation. If a user selects another slide, the slide
number (i.e. "1") does not update. The number of slides is correct, however.

1) Open any Impress template that has more than one slide.
2) Place focus onto any slide except the first.
3) Note that Slide 1 of x indicator still shows "1" for the slide. It does not
update.
4) The expected behavior would show an updated slide number that depicts the
slide that has been selected. For example, if slide 4 is selected, indicator
should state, Page 4 of x; x being the number of slides.

For keyboard navigation F6, F10, or +, coupled with +F allow
you to move between GUI elements and Findbar witout use of mouse.

And again, that is simply not a valid assertion, and is not how our Find bar
(or any Toolbar) is designed to work in the OOo, AOO, or LO GUI. The Find
toolbar object behaves like any other toolbar.

I've routed this back for UX-advise, but IMHO remains undesirable.

target. The proper way to use the find window is to use it and close it or even
close it automatically upon find e.g. like in mcedit.

More importantly so far no one has produced a viable workflow for using
selection as the new search target. Why are you so sure that anyone uses it
rather than treating it as a mild annoyance?

For 6.2 the pdfium based filter is now handling both import and insert, and the
pdfium rendering to bitmap on canvas correctly renders the linear, radial and
pattern fills of attachment 55501 or attachment 98038

But break of the inserted PDF, or Import (e.g. opening) of the PDF with PDFium,
is not handling clip of the gradient fills well.

Should this and similar import/break bugs be closed and restated against the
new PDFium filter?

In current master (version 6.2.0.0.alpha0+) the entry "Edit page break" of
dropdown menu attached to the page break seems not visually deactivated but
does nothing (no edit page opened) if an image is selected. Once the image is
deselected, the entry menu works again.

So closing as WorksForMe. Please feel free to reopen if you disagree.

I'm confused as well. Export or Save-as SVG for selected Draw objects, or the
full canvas is _already_ provided. So, is this for a context menu option for a
selection of Draw objects?

And a context menu "Save" Draw object(s) to SVG calling the Export dialog would
be much more complex than the currently implemented Image export to "Save.." a
selected raster.

But might be desierable.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118332] New: Table height unnecessarily increases with multi-line text in merged cells.

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118332

Bug ID: 118332
Summary: Table height unnecessarily increases with multi-line
text in merged cells.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: explore...@gmail.com

Description:
Happen on Impress only. When I make a table with a merged cell (spanning
multiple rows) and multi-line text in it, the minimum height on one of the rows
will increase unnecessarily. And that wastes space.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Impress with a blank slide.
2. Create a 3 x 3 table.
3. Merge three cells in the third column altogether.
4. Fill the cells with some text, like this:

+++-+
| A1 | B1 | Column C with |
+++ multiple lines  |
| A2 | B2 | of text.(break) |
+++ Hello world.|
| A3 | B3 | |
+++-+

5. Try to shrink the table height by dragging the resize knobs.

Actual Results:
The example will show row 3 with increased minimum table height, and impossible
to size it down (unless the multi-line content in the merged cell gets
removed).

Expected Results:
I should be able to get optimal minimum table height. Compare the result with
Writer's to see what I mean.

Reproducible: Always

   Product: LibreOffice

  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)

  Reporter: a.joens...@web.de

Description:
Writing a long text separated in various chapters, I save all chapters in one
directory as e.g. "1-introduction.odt", "2-continued-text.odt" and so on.
Additionally, I save copies with a timestamp in the their name in a
subdirectory, e.g. "20180623-1-introduction.odt". If then working on with the
timestamped version, when trying to finally again save it as
"1-introduction.odt" and later opening this, all changes made in the
timestamped version are lost in the not-timestamped version, while they are
saved only in the timestamped version in the subdirectory.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write a text an save it as "name.odt" in a directory.
2. Create a subdirectory, e.g. "backup", and save a copy of the document from
1. in there, named "mmdd-name.odt".
3. Change the document "mmdd-name.odt" from the subdirectory, choose "save
as ..." and save it as "name.odt" in the higher directory, result: Changes lost
in "name.odt".

Actual Results:
Changes got lost when repeatedly changing between two document versions by
using the "save as ..." dialogue.

Expected Results:
original document ought to show the changes made in the backup-document after
saving the latter by "save as ..." under the original name again.

No, by design 'Closing' and reopening the Find bar reinitializes it--either
Docked or Undocked. If you need to retain the search string, do not close it!

Meaning, rather than to close the undocked Find bar, a mouse click, text
selection, or cursor movement places cursor focus back onto document canvas.

Using a current selection as find target on launch remains correct and expected
behavior.

Also expected on launch, with no selection made from canvas, the prior find
targets are available as a droplist stack for reuse. And that stack is
persistent until LibreOffice is closed.

This behavior is correct when 'Opening' or 'Reopening' the find bar.
"Enhancement" suggested is not necessary, preloading the last find target
rather than a current selection would break what is already functional.

=> WONTFIX

Setting a limit on the size of a current selection that would/could be used as
a find target probably should be done.

Since there is no reference in the LO3.3 info.plist file to file type icon
associated to oasis nor file- icons, I assume the bug was already present in
that version.

I can confirm, though, that in the latest available version (4.1.5) of Open
Office for Mac this bug is present too. It may be reasonable to think (but I am
not stating it though) that this bug was simply inherited from OO, and that no
one has worked it around yet.

I lack coding knowledge so i can not answer your question, but
CFBundleTypeIconFile seems to be the most widespread way to assign file type
icons in the info.plist files all over many apps for mac. That could be given a
try.

Pulling at our heartstrings, this Hermes Dogon wallet features the two most
unique traits that you won’t find in any other wallet. One is, of course the
ever-stunning Clou de Selle tab closure in circular shape with your beloved
‘Hermes Paris’ engraved in it. It’s available in gold, palladium and silver
hardware, all as per the color choice. Also, this Dogon wallet comes in two
styles; the Combined wallet and Compact wallet, each style is so minimal yet so
Hermes! Secondly, this one-of-a-kind wallet comes with a removable zipped coin
purse. Isn’t the bag truly well-rounded!
Interior & Sizes
The interior is next to none, just experience it for yourself and you’ll feel
the same. Its greatest feature is that it has a removable small zipper pouch
that can be used in any way; either you can put it inside for easy put-together
or you can carry it while you need just some cash in a night out. If you are
not in a mood to take the full purse out for a show-off, then this small pouch
will serve well.
Blame is all on you, you are just not aware with the capacity of your beloved
Dogon wallet. It can store as much as 14 cards if we double store in each slot,
plus the licence, the Id, travel card and what not! Whereas the Dogon Compact
wallet has two credit card slots, one zipper purse and two extra compartments,
the Dogon Combined 5 credit card slots, one removable zipper purse, two extra
compartments and one bill slot. Can you simply fantasize for more storage in a
wallet! We think not.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118330] New: [NEWHELP] Change of terminology in CONTENTS sidebar

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118330

Bug ID: 118330
Summary: [NEWHELP] Change of terminology in CONTENTS sidebar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: needsUXEval
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org

Hi Designers / UX guys

On working with the new help for 6.1 as shown in e.g
https://help.libreoffice.org/6.1/en-US/text/shared/main0108.html

I see the CONTENTS left sidebar with main entries as:

Macro and programming
Spreadsheets
Charts and Diagrams
Installation
Common Help Topics
Database Functionality
Presentation and drawings
Formulas
Text Documents
HTML documents

I'd like to propose we change the following terminology

Macro and programming -> BASIC programming
Spreadsheets   -> CALC
Charts and Diagrams -> CHART
Installation -> %PRODUCTNAME Installation
Common Help Topics -> COMMON help Topics
Database Functionality -> BASE
Presentation and drawings -> IMPRESS and DRAW
Formulas -> MATH
Text Documents -> WRITER
HTML documents -> WRITER WEB

My biased view is that the module names are more significant visually at click
time than the current terms employed.

I'd like advises, change is trivial.

Toggling inside/outside works via the "Mirror" button in the Fontwork tool,
left of the alignment buttons.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117878] Change of behaviour in function DateSerial.

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117878

Hi himajin10

¿Are you testing the code in VBA?
Mi test file was made for LibreOffice Basic.

I liked the link to source code. But ¿where is method IsValidDate?

I can see that now must be a strict check of date that was not present before.

I reported this bug because the behavior change of DateSerial breaked a
function that I use in a LO application and relied on the previous documented
behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118329] New: Diagram for a table with three columns adds fictitious entries

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118329

Bug ID: 118329
Summary: Diagram for a table with three columns adds fictitious
entries
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ab.x...@gmail.com

In Calc I have a table with three columns. In the first column are 25 dates
(dd.mm.yy), in the columns two and three are the corresponding values. The
first entry is that of 06.01.18; the last entry is that of 23.06.18.

The diagram does not start on 01/06/18, but on 04/08/17. There are no date
entries or values for this day and the following days up to 01/06/18.
Consequently, the diagram starts with long even lines up to the first date with
values (the 6.01.18).

The diagram is only created correctly if the column with the dates is not
included.

If you think that going with the flow is the correct choice then you must
realise that vast majority considers MS office as the standard, and it quite
wisely provides an option to disable drag and drop. It is a feature more for
occasional users.

2018-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118306

--- Comment #1 from l.l+libreofficeb...@mailbox.org ---
Have to correct the bug report or make it more precise:

Bug affects only odp-Projects not created with the newest LO version.

Following does not work:
- Create a Impress document by right click menu in file manager.
- Open document with LO.
- Change height of AutoLayout.
- Save and close LO.
- Reopen Document.
- Height of AutoLayout is not restored.

When importing an older odp-document, the bug occurs.

However following works:
- Start LO.
- Create a new document.
- Change AutoLayout height.
- Save Document.
- Close LO and reopen document.
- Height of AutoLayout is restored.
