I have just tried this in ver 6.0.3.2 and indeed, sort buttons do not sort
first row.

However, when I open my own file and tried again, first row is still sorted.

BUT I installed OpenOffice 4.1.5 to open the same file and the first row is NOT
sorted. So, something is different between OpenOffice and LibreOffice and the
behaviour in LibreOffice is very obscure.

I'm going to attach a test file for you to try.

> A screencast is at http://youtu.be/4-QJ7xR6plw?hd=1.

Note that I don't select the columns and I don't need to. The normal behaviour
(at least that in OpenOffice) is that we just need to select a cell of the
column that we want to sort (except first row, I suppose) and all adjacent
columns are sorted accordingly.

I am unable to bibisect this with 43all or the max repos on Ubuntu 14.04. In
4.2 builds and later, it does not show the red underline at any point. In
earlier builds it does show them before correction.

Created attachment 143270

tdf82175_noStyleInheritance.docx: simple, but problematic, problem document

The problem with these documents is that the builtin style Text Body (Body Text
in MSO) should not be basedOn anything, but in LO it is basedOn "Default" and
Default is correctly using the modified value of "atLeast 12".

LO 5.3 commit
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=b79b5e0df6dc5a0ba18054b0503d6fa804b69f02
changed parentless built-in styles to "Standard" (instead of whatever they
inherited from in LO), but this document says that they should inherit from
-none- instead. That makes sense.

That's a use case. Alternatively to drop expandability we could add information
on the collapsed section, introduce user labels, have a summary in tooltips...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118505] New: When using regex and find.text different positions (begining or the end of string) are returned.

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118505

Bug ID: 118505
Summary: When using regex and find.text different positions
(begining or the end of string) are returned.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mk...@ibb.waw.pl

Description:
Find returns the beginning or the end of string found when using regex.
The easiest way to explain this is an example:

The string result formula
123456789 5 =SZUKAJ.TEKST("3?5"; A1)
123456789 3 =SZUKAJ.TEKST("345"; B2)
123456790 3 =SZUKAJ.TEKST("3.5"; B3)
123456791 5 =SZUKAJ.TEKST("3*5"; B4)
123456792 3 =SZUKAJ.TEKST("3[0-9]5"; B5)
123456795 3 =SZUKAJ.TEKST("3[0-9]*5"; B6)
(Polish szukaj.text = find)

One can notice that when we use "?" or "*" we get the position of the last
character.
When "." or [0-9] or [0-9]* is used the position of the first character is
returned which, I suppose, is correct.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use find function with '.' and '?' locate some substring in string e.g "345"
(test "345", "3.5" and "3?5") in "123456789".
2. Compare the results (returned position)

Actual Results:
when searching "345" in "123456789" position 3 is returned (correct)
when searching "3?5" in "123456789" position 5 is returned (not correct)
when searching "3*5" in "123456789" position 5 is returned (not correct)
when searching "3[0-9]5" in "123456789" position 3 is returned (correct)

Expected Results:
I suppose that always the begining of found substring should be returned (3 in
the above example).

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Tested on 6.0.5.1(Linux), 6.0.5.2 (win), 6.0.2.1 (win). Always the same.

This one is a dupe of, or interconnected with bug 112989. It also happens in
LibO5.3 with Harfbuzz enabled. It's OK without it.

Still no clue why this is working in 5.4 until commit
559bb1420cd7fe699e139e20ea3b4205b9e6937d.

This should be looked after a fix is published for bug 112989.

I would definitely vote for "Text layout performance" as Tender budget 2018.
Spell-check & Text shaping isn't a great combo at this point.

---
Text layout performance

CostEstimate: 6 weeks Contact: Khaled

Our text layout performance is abysmal, all over the code base it is assumed
that shaping text is cheap and we can do it over and over again. Want to
measure the text? Shape it and discard the output afterwards. Want to measure
part of the same text? Shape again. Want to find line breaks? Shape again. Want
to finally draw it? Shape again. This might have been cheap for Latin script in
the olden days when all we did is query font cmap table and put glyphs next to
each other, which is not the case anymore and never been the case for more
involved scripts. We need to work on this, and there are many possibilities;
retaining shaping results much longer, improving the wasteful OutputDevice API,
caching etc.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118502] New: eps images systematically get rasterized to bitmap

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118502

Bug ID: 118502
Summary: eps images systematically get rasterized to bitmap
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: samuel.thiba...@ens-lyon.org

Description:
Libreoffice 6.0 seems to systematically rasterize the eps images I am
importing, thus strongly degrading the quality for no reason.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new Writer Document
2. Insert Image, select a .eps image (will attach a sample)
3. Image looks vectorized in the document
4. Save document
5. Close document
6. Re-open document

Actual Results:
Image looks rasterized in the document, making it an ugly blurry image.

Expected Results:
Image should remain vectorized across saving.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
This does not happen with .emf or .svg files.

Re-opening files previously saved with libreoffice 5.4.4 does have vectorized
images. Re-saving them as such with libreoffice 6.0 rasterizes them.

This is disastrous for me: I am not sure I still have the original .eps files
to be able to re-import all of them. As of now, I am stuck with either
downgrading to libreoffice 5.4.4, or only use previous backups of .odt files,
and not produce new files (otherwise I get all my figures horribly blurry).

Setting to RESOLVED/FIXED as per the mail thread starting at

"Close EasyHack tdf#96099 'Reduce number of typedefs used for trivial container
types'?":

"While there are certainly the obviously silly, use-once cases like

   typedef std::vector IntVector;
   IntVector v = ...;

there are also cases where such a typedef introduces domain-specific vocabulary
into a (larger) portion of the code (e.g., see removal of such typedefs in

'tdf#96099 fix trival typedefs, Path to std::vector' in configmgr and

'tdf#96099 Remove trivial std::map typedefs in [cd]*' removing the Dependencies
typedef from codemaker/source/javamaker/javatype.cxx). In such cases, there is
always a tension between keeping the code simple (in the sense of easily
understood by using well-chosen names) and keeping the code simple (by not
introducing unnecessary abstractions), and finding the right balance there is
likely not an easy hack.

"(Tor's initial description,
, already warned
about that, but it's not clear to me that that warning has always been taken
into account adequately.)"

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104318] CTL formatting applies even when CTL checkbox is unchecked

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104318

Hiding CTL or CJK font setting by default and having to expand them or switch
to a different tab is bad than status quo. Currently if I enable CTL and CJK
controls then all my font settings are visible in one place and I can switch
between them with little effort, which is not the case with the suggestion
here.

I suggest simply dropping the setting and keeping things as they are now. This
is the default for new installations for some time now already and I don’t see
people screaming bloody murder about the extra controls.

On the long run, we should do away with the idea of Western, CTL and CJK font
settings and do like, IIRC, what Microsoft Office is doing now and have a
single font chooser that sets the fonts for all the three to the same font, the
idea that there are only three categories of scripts is outdated and absured
anyway, why I would want to set the same font for Devanagari, Thai and Arabic;
there is absolutely nothing in common between the three.

Of course it need when we have several conditions for one range. When I have
only one condition, it shows fully always.

Who is Benjamin?

Heiko, did you use conditional formatting yourself? When I have several
conditions for one range I have a problem, because I can't see all conditions
in one time together. I should remember what's options I set for each
condition. And I should switch between conditions to set all conditions right,
include ranges of values, colors, sets of icon, styles of cell, etc.

I want offer you discuss it on design meeting.

My observation in 6.0.5 (I'm not sure, that it is the same you, Harald,
describes):

If mouse pointer is on the left of a misspelled word the context menu of
spellchecking appears.
If mouse pointer is on the left or above or below a mispelled word, the context
menu with copy and paste appears. It doesn't matter if the cursor is before,
after or within the word.

I would expect, that context menu is the same, when Mouse pointer is right or
left

The alphabetical list is exactly what you want. You define index entries that
are listed (alphabetically) - IIRC there is a ticket on sort by occurrence. All

Hi Jacques,

I tested the function again with 6.0.5. The bug still exists. Perhaps step 2
may be a problem. You need not perform this step if Automatic Spell checking is
already enabled. Furthermore at step 4 there is a mistake in my original
description. Correct is:

[4] Insert a misspellt word followed by a space. The word is underlined with a
red(!) wavy line.

Did you get this underlining?

However,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118500] New: Impress not saving slide transition sound

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118500

Bug ID: 118500
Summary: Impress not saving slide transition sound
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: p.kaeh...@posteo.de

Description:
Sound in slide transition running over several slides is lost after saving the
presentation as ODP. File name still written, but actual functionality lost.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create presentation with more than one slide.
2. Define slide transition, sound, choose "other sound" from file (MP3 here).
3. Check the "repeat until next sound" (to make the music playing over several
slides).
4. On a later slide, choose in transitions, sound: "end previous sound here".

(Checking so far: when starting the presentation, the sound is starting and
ending as expected)

5. Save the document (ODP), close Impress, open the document again.

Actual Results:
After reopening the file, the checkbox "repeat until next sound" which was set
before is lost. The sound file name is still written in the sound box, but the
music does not start in presentation mode.

Choosing the same file again or setting the "repeat until..." box does recover
the expected behaviour to play the file in presentation mode, but is not
persistent after file saving.

Expected Results:
All checkboxes and settings are saved.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Could be expandable sections too, of course, but then you need a scrollarea.
Issue here is that users likely switch between Western and Asian quite often.
Not too funny with the tabs (neither any other control) so we have to add code
that switches automatically to the right tab depending on the current
selection.

I tried to reproduce it. I got problems with Bahnschrift and Segui UI; no
problems with Liberation Serif and Calibri.

Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: b0e291a7efcd3af2a72d0b622b1f1b84723f011f
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2018-06-30_23:43:40
Locale: en-US (de_DE); Calc: CL

"I start wondering why OpenGL is by default active, then." That's also my
question.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118446] embedded visio object shows rotated text distorted

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118446

The description to reproduce the problem with option B is possibly too vague.

1. open new writer document
2. Insert - Object OLE-object
3. Create New - further objects
4. Use file (use browse to select file)
5. Visio opens with the object looking OK
6. Close Visio
7. Writer shows the object, with distorted text.

This happens with LO version 6.0.5.2 and with recent master on Windows10.

Hey Drew,

while your changes did not fix the problem on my machine (also using Ubuntu
18.04) they certainly helped me to find a solution for the problem. Instead of
changing the order of the WHERE-criteria, I changed the order of the
FROM-expression:

SELECT "SP"."id", "SP"."hämo", "S"."situation"
FROM "situation" "S", "situation_p" "SP"
WHERE "SP"."situation" = "S"."id"

For some magical reason I now get the desired result table. While I think that
this order should not be relevant, I have to admit that I was wrong about my
evaluation that it can not be fixed in Base itself.

I would like to thank you for your very constructive feedback. People like you
are awesome.

There is no "Custom Animation" as described in the Help under the
menu so there is no possibility of checking if this bug as been fixed.
