[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119100] New: Removing an improted bitmap from a frame does not remove bitmap from .odt file.

2018-08-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119100

Bug ID: 119100
Summary: Removing an improted bitmap from a frame does not
remove bitmap from .odt file.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: martin.van.bo...@gmail.com

Created attachment 143973
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=143973=edit
Five files, from new empty document, to document with frame and Bitmap removed
again. The filesize has not shrunk. The image ("Bitmap") file used.

Removing an imported bitmap from a frame does not remove bitmap file from .odt
file.

Actions to reproduce:

Add a frame:
Insert | Frame-> | frame...

Add a background to it, in LibreOffice parlour a "bitmap" that must first be
"imported", and then added as "Area":
 | Properties... | Area | Bitmap | Import

Observations:
* The imported bitmap becomes visible as background to the frame, but is not
visible in the Bitmap pictogram list in the Area tab.
* The document grows in size according to the size of the imported image.

Actions to reproduce:

Remove the background:
 | Properties... | Area | Bitmap | None

Observations:
* The background disappears.
* The filesize remains the same, even if the Bitmap is not being used anywhere
else in the document.
* There is no interface to list or remove the Bitmap.
* The file and reference to it can be found inside the .odt file in a folder
./Pictures and in Styles.xml.

IMO this is a bug, as it lets a Writer file grow without limit and without
method to prune it.
* LibreOffice should add imported Bitmaps to the Bitmaps list, or to a more
general management GUI for imported data.
* LibreOffice should have an option to manually manage Bitmaps contained in the
document, used or not.
* LibreOffice should perhaps automatically remove unused Bitmaps from the
document file.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119099] New: Libre changes my HP-15C emulator icon

2018-08-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119099

Bug ID: 119099
Summary: Libre changes my HP-15C emulator icon
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: scot.par...@gmail.com

Description:
HP-15C emulator by Torsten Manz: When I "send to desktop" as a shortcut, the
HP-15C icon is replaced by a feather. This bug has been persistent with each
LibreOffice release over many years, with Windows 7, and Windows 10, with
various laptops. This may or may not be a HP-15C bug. For example, the 15C icon
may be referencing a wrong memory location - but it does it even when
LibreOffice is not active; and not running in the background (as far as I
know).
This is a "low priority" bug.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download the HP-15C emulator from
http://hp-15c.homepage.t-online.de/content_web.htm
2.Install font
3.send .exe file to desktop as shortcut.

Actual Results:
The HP-15C icon is replaced by a feather

Expected Results:
No change to the HP-15C icon

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
It should have not changed the icon.

I've found there are predefined style for image/picture in Contextual group

since in Style sidebar menu there's no such thing.

This image style consists of below:

Defaut, Greyscale, Black and White | -20% Brightness and Contrast, -20%
Brightness, -20% Contrass, 0% Brightness and Contrass, +20% Brightness, +20%

Unfortunately the style does not work.

Screen shot of message after crash

After upgrade to Xubuntu 18.04 from 17.10, I cannot open any LO file.

Problem behavior:
Opening any file immediately crashes as shown in the attached image. It tries
to go through the recovery process of the previous Untitled document, then it
goes into this crash/recovery attempt loop.

I thought it was the older LO file perhaps. So I saved a blank new test.ods,
closed and re-opened. Same behavior.
I mainly use Calc but I tried opening a Writer doc and same behavior.

I've tried running in safe mode and resetting the profile. No luck.
I've gone down the options in the safe mode prompt. No luck.
Tried disabling opencl, No luck.
Tried completely removing LO from the system through synaptic. Then
re-installing. No luck either.

Any ideas?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119085] Bundle the new "EB Garamond" font with LibreOffice

2018-08-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119085

The Google Fonts founding shouldn't be a criterion. I propose a more
typographic approach:

1.) Consider the history of type design and its classic families. A good font
collection should have one example of every classic family.

2.) Consider the technical and the artistic quality of the implementation.

There is a reason why so many OS editions and office packages include an
implementaion of Garamond.

  Reporter: inbadre...@gmail.com

Description:
I'm sorry, i can't find the latest report I made about this subject. It was
resolved but it occurred again... and again.
The issue : for years, almost each and every time I keep Libre Office open
while I'm doing something else on the computer, when I try to use LO again, it
freezes. Like this : http://agitato.free.fr/libreoffice.jpg
The only solution is to close it all (no matter how many files open, the
unsaved stuff is lost). After that, it takes a 20-30 seconds to recover lost
files...
So, I've been advised to erase the LO Profile, which I did. Then it worked
fine... until yesterday and until now.
I'm not brave enough to erase the LO profile several times a day for the rest
of my life, I'm an author and I need a stable software.
Maybe someone has an idea ?
Thank you,
C

works fine... until next time

Invocation of pocheck:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=instdir/program make cmd
cmd=workdir/LinkTarget/Executable/pocheck

Currently it gives a lot of warnings because of missing po files.

Unfortunately it takes more that just changing the po file names in
l10ntools/source/pocheck.cxx. I got an "pocheck: exception std::exception". It
seems that the problem is, that the #, c-format flag is not handled (exception
is thrown when the po parser reads an entry with this flag). But this flag
should not be there in the first place, because there are no true C format
strings in LibreOffice strings. It is an artifact from the underlying xgettext
call. I would rather leave this to someone else.

I think, it would be good to fix pocheck, because it prevents various runtime
errors. For example there are clashing style names in various languages (I saw
German, Japanese) in LibreOffice 6.0 and onwards.

News : I got a solution, installing the driver from Mariadb instead of the
original one. That driver can be found here :
https://downloads.mariadb.org/connector-java/2.2.6/
and requires a slight adaptation within LO :
- adding the path to mariadb-java-client-226.jar in the options

creating the access in Base.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119091] New: No access to mysql/mariadb databases using jdbc driver

2018-08-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119091

Bug ID: 119091
Summary: No access to mysql/mariadb databases using jdbc driver
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: r.cab...@free.fr

Description:
Since LO 6.0, the connection to Mariadb databases is impossible by means of the
jdbc driver (based onto mysql-connector-java).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a database using Mariadb (or MySQL, it should be the same)
2. Try creating an access using LO Base (MySQL / jdbc)
3. Test the class com.mysql.jdbc.Driver (should be OK, it's the case by me)
4. Give username and password, and test the connexion

Actual Results:
LO Base error message :
java.long.NoSuchMethodError:java.nio.CharBuffer.position(I)Ljava/nio/CharBuffer;

Expected Results:
Connexion to the database.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
It's still possible to connect with the direct MySQL native connector
(mysql-connector-ooo) which works (at least) under LO 6.1, provided the user
can (and is allowed to) install the corresponding extension.

Another alternative to floating point, is to keep using integers but use a
scale, so instead of shaping at 10 pixels and drawing at the coordinates we
get, we shape at 10 * SCALE and shape ant coordinates / SCALE. Which is what
many other libraries do, and I vaguely remember that we have something similar
by may be we are not using it thoroughly. Worth investigating.

But you are still right. I actually clicked on the wrong version number. I am
sorry for that. The attached file was created with:

LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.2.1.0+
Build-ID: 1:6.0.2-1

on Netrunner-Linux 18.03. This is the version I am using now.

No, the initial formula is not from .DOC. I am exclusively using LibreOffice
(on Linux!).

And believe me, I appreciate your time very much. I thought that the following
will happen:
1) A programmer will open the attached file and observe what I observed.
2) The programmer will look inside the code of this file and find the cause for
this behaviour.

I can only give you this file and the videos as proof of what I originally
described.

They two backspaces isn't the problem. The issue is that while editing BBB the
bullet we go first before the content, when following comment 3
