[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119461] Sidebar: Collapsing deck using Enter or Space key hides focus

2018-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119461

Here is a patch that makes the Space key behavior the same as a mouse click.
Focus remains on the tab button. This avoids focus from being hidden when the
deck collapses. The patch also makes the Enter key never collapse the deck but
to open it if collapsed and always place focus on the first panel title.

Comments and testing always appreciated.

  Hardware: All

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Draw and Impress have an multiselect.xml popupmenu file, while writer and calc
didn't.

The issue is that you have to add the multiselect specific commands (like
group, arrange, distribute, ...) in graph, draw, ... popupmenu files. when you
would have an multiselect.xml file the graph, draw, ... popupmenu files can
have only specific actions for one selection and multiselect has the actions
when you have more than one item select. this help maintanance of the code and
make the files smaler.

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kittykat3...@gmail.com

Description:
The SUM function works on some rows in the document and not on others, I cannot
find the reason for it not working (row formatting is identical as far as I can
see and I've tried copy/pasting the formatting). There is no other indication
for why it may not be working that I can see.

In the end, I fixed it by copy/pasting the content of the working SUM cell in
the H column into one that was broken. When I tried to undo the copy/paste, it
still kept working after the change was undone.

Steps to Reproduce:
Not sure how I triggered the bug. I copy pasted the first row with the
calculation into all the subsequent rows and filled in the numbers for adding
up manually. First few rows add up correctly, but later ones do not. (See
screenshot.)

I have tried applying the formatting from the working rows to the broken rows
with no change.

Actual Results:
SUM of D31:G31 shown as £700.00 in H31 (see screenshot)

Expected Results:
SUM of D31:G31 shown as £858.10 in H31 (see screenshot)

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73593] add more formula items to Elements pane, provide LibreOffice with more complete coverage of MathML and LaTex symbol definitions

2018-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73593

--- Comment #10 from brian.bj.parke...@gmail.com ---
Just to clarify, what I am suggesting here is much simpler than what you are
describing- I am not suggesting using the tex engine for layout or allowing
full blown import of arbitrary latex files.

All I am suggesting is a minor extension of the StarMath syntax. StarMath
syntax *already* supports latex synonyms for superscript and subscript. If it
also supported e.g. \Lambda as a synonym for %LAMBDA, and \cdot as a synonym
for cdot etc, then the majority of latex formula examples could be cut and
pasted directly into Impress presentations.
This could be done in an almost entirely backward compatible way, and would not
require *any* changes to the layout code, or any changes to the storage
formats- the changes would be localized to the starmath parser, and would be an
extension to the syntax and so would be backwardly compatible (except for
contrived examples).

Also, it wouldn't need to include 100% of latex math notation- just covering
the common cases would allow the majority of published latex examples to be cut
and pasted.

LibreOffice seems to have problems with images which have virtually no metadata
inside. I am now remembering seeing this before.
So use an image editor to losslessly convert it to a PNG.
That should add proper metadata.
My guess is that then it will at least look the same as OO.

Please come back and let us know if that works.

perhaps I can work on the Base versions.

Thanks

DistributeSelection open the dialogue window to distribute shapes and items
when you have more than 3 items selected.

In Inkscape all the different distribute actions are available in the section
with arrangements.

Is it possible to have the different options not only in the draw
DistributeSelection dialog window?

The menu entry "Edit with external tool" should be configurable, because it
points to the first configured tool configured to the file extension like jpg
or png.
But on Windows if you click on to a picture it starts the pictureviewer
normally. But it LibreOffice I wan't to use Gimp for example if the picture in
libreoffice is a jpeg file.

The solution would be a additional dialog in which I could choose which tool I
like to use.

Must have something to do with the working directory.

When the file is in the working directory some crazy checks are done and end in
the crashing result ...

When i make a copy in the same directory, open and save the file, the problem
is gone. Of course it crashes after saving.
But now i can open it without crashing.

So it must have to do with a format saved in an writer version before.

Sorry - very complicated.

I understand this problem, but i don't want to upload confidental data.

When i simply copy this file into another directory and open it the problem
does not occur !?

My idea was to make a copy of it and delete the confidental content, so that
the rest will be identical.
But this will not work.

I never want to use the document template, because a complete other format is
done in this document.
But somehow it detects that an document template has changed, asks and then
crashes after closing the document - even nothing has been altered.

I have no idea what this functionality shall be good for?

My bad. This is not a bug. The undo does not actually remove the text box,
only undoes what was written to it. Another undo will remove the text box and
the animation as expected.

2018-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 119513
Summary: Rough cut of transparent image shown on fade-in when

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: diogogso...@gmail.com

Description:
When a transparent image is animated with a fade-in, and hardware acceleration
is disabled, a rough cut of the images is shown during the fade-in.

It seems like the image was transformed such that it is totally transparent on
the most transparent parts and totally opaque on the most opaque parts.

See the video attached. It happens in second 5.8.

Note that this only happens with hardware acceleration enabled.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the presentation attached.

1. Make sure you have hardware acceleration disabled.
2. Open attached presentation.
3. Enter presentation mode. Don't do anything, just wait.

Actual Results:
Rough cut of transparent image shown on fade-in when hardware acceleration is
disabled.

Expected Results:
Image should fade-in with the correct transparencies.

Try the following with a copy of your *.odb-file:

Open the *.odb-file with a packing-program ("Zip", here on Linux it's called
"Ark").
content.xml should be moved outside the *.odb-file (Unzip only this file).
Take a simple text-editor (I use Kate in Linux ...) and open content.xml.
Search for
db:parameter-name-substitution="false"
and delete this.
Save the new content.xml
Delete old content.xml in the *.odb-file with the packing-program.
Move the new content.xml into the *.odb-file.

Hope this works for you.

Regards

Robert

2018-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119111

I don't currently know a way of reproducing it on demand. The attachment was to
show the result of the problems - shapes that have lost their position (on this
one text shapes ending up at the top left corners of cells and z-index altered
so that they end up under objects and not responding to a z-index change of
sending-to-back/front). On other ones the text shapes are thrown over the right
hand margins, which is impossible by hand.
I found a way to recover the text shapes in the attached exhibit which is to
click in the top left corner of each of the cells and where there is one it
will be highlighted but invisible and then clicking one of the wrap buttons
makes it visible.
The saving comment was to illustrate how variable the problem is, as it may
happen just by saving and reopening but that is a less frequent occurrance.
Most commonly they lose their xy positions and z-index somewhere in the
document as I'm editing, and it's very common.

I would keep it there "only" for consistency in addition it's alway nice to see
in the UI that you can add text to whatever shape use draw.

I will investigate to reduce the different .xml popupmenu files for different
shapes cause it's way easier in writer and I also think (like you) this
complexity (maintanance work) can be reduced.

It isn't empty if you select 2 shapes.

> - Text Box like in writer
I'm not against adding this entry in Draw, just want to point out that it won't
have the same effect as in Writer. The "Add Text Box" command in Writer is
actually about attaching a Writer text frame to the given shape, not about
activating the shape built-in text engine like in Draw. It's not the same as if
you double click the shape, or press F2. That's why I think we should rename
this "Add Text Box" to "Add Text Frame" to avoid further confusion.

Also a general note about Impress/Draw:

Unlike Writer/Calc which have a single "draw" context menu for all kinds of
shapes, Impress/Draw have separate context menus for lines, curves, measure
lines etc. So whenever we change the context menu structure, it should be
reflected in all those popupmenus as well, for consistency. On the other hand,
if you could propose a single "draw" menu structure that could work across
several kinds of shapes, I'll be happy to look at making the necessary code
changes to use such a unified menu. Just let me know.

No need to update Debian, if you just download an appimage of LibreOffice and
run it.

Bug ID: 119509
Summary: FILEOPEN wrong column format in ODS but not XLSX
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d...@arnfield.com

Description:
I have a document with a column of dates and a second column which subtracts a
certain number from the first to get the number of days since a certain date.
For example:

A2: 06/27/2018
B2: =A2-43277

Where 43277 is the date 06/26/2018 converted to a number, so the result is 1. I
have this column formatted as general numbers. When the file is saved in xlsx
format it's displayed correctly when the file is closed and reopened, but if
it's in ODS the column displays in the date format.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a column or cell with a formula of the form [date cell] - number
2. Set its format to general number
3. Save file in ODS format and reopen the file

Actual Results:
Column or cell displays in date format. The "General" option is ticked under
Format > Number Format.

Expected Results:
Column or cell displays in general number format.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73593] add more formula items to Elements pane, provide LibreOffice with more complete coverage of MathML and LaTex symbol definitions

Indeed, my apologies. Bug 119449 would be better set a duplicate of bug 96208
-- done.

Issue in general with support Tex and LaTex syntax is that our "native" format
to control node composition is StarMath--but our storage media is ODF. As ODF
requires use of MathML, we strive to support MathML for import and export. We
annotate the XML of each MathML ODF Formula object with its StarMath
composition--and reparse that StarMath on reimport.

There is no specification for using TeX with ODF, so while we could probably
filter import the LaTeX syntax formula entries and could also hold them as
annotations--the same as the StarMath for reimport--we would never adopt TeX
for canvas layout. TeX is treated to PostScript.

Filter based import of LaTex, and expanding the GUI to support LaTex syntax
entry is feasible. The first step for both is to ensure the MathML/StarMath can
correctly describe the additional symbology when recorded to ODF XML.

Sorry that i did not answer for a long time.
I did not have the time for futher tests.

Please close this bug, because i think the reason is a really special
configuration of the settings of KDE in Debian 8.

I did made a new installation in Debian 9 and this does not happen again.
So i say it is not reproducible too.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the presentation attached.

1. Make sure you have hardware acceleration enabled.
2. Open attached presentation.
3. Enter presentation mode.
4. Click to trigger animation.

In draw when you select more than two items it show multiselect.xml but in
writer and calc there is no multiselect.xml so it look like you are right, than
group is needed. As the group submenu is only usefull when you select more than
two items I would suggest to have the group commands outside a group group,
cause then they will be shown only when it's usefull.

So Description and Name should be in the calc context menu? than I will move it
to the bottom.

you are right, area, line, rotate stuff work but the global style stuff not. So
keep it in the context menu and hopefully get more functionality (better style
support) in the future.

@Shinji Eniko

With the fill series, yes you cannot set it per hour or minutes
The mp4 shows dragging with a mouse and i mist the point of the reporter
Workaround is exp in A1 type 1:00 and then in A2 2:00 select them and drag with
the mouse down, then you will have a fill by hour etc.
Maybe a future request for filling per hours in Sheet -> fill cells -> series

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119507] New: macro signature's should not be removed as long as macro source code has not changed

2018-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119507

Bug ID: 119507
Summary: macro signature's should not be removed as long as
macro source code has not changed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: oliver.brinz...@gmx.de

Created attachment 144453
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=144453=edit
macro signed template

imagine an enterprise environment, where users should work with
templates (containing macros) and macro security level is set to "High":

steps to reproduce:

- set Macro Security to "High":
  Menu "Tools/Options.../LibreOffice/Security/[Macro Security...]"
- open attached template:
  Menu "File/Templates/Open Template ..."
- check "[x] Always trust macros from this source" and [Enable Macros]

btw: is there an option to prevent users trusting a signed macro?
imho it would make sence to have an option to allow only macro's
   signed with preinstalled/validated certificates.

- verify signatures:
  document (banner below toolbar) and
  macro (Menu "Tools/Macros/Digital Signature..."
- close template

- open a document from template:
  Menu "File/Open.../macro_signed_template.ott"
- document and macro signature's have been removed.
- but [Run Macro] will still work!
- save "Untitled 1" as "test.odt" and close
- open "test.odt"
- macros execution is disabled now

"repair" test.odt:
- copy "META-INF/macrosignatures.xml" from "macro_signed_template.ott"
  to test.odt's "META-INF" folder.
- open "test.odt"
- [Run Macro] will work again

conclusion:
macro signature's should not be removed as long as macro source code
has not changed.

problem:
- open "test.odt"
- Menu "File/Tools/Macros/Edit Macro"
- edit macro (for example change msgbox text) *without* saving the document
- [Run Macro] will work!
- save and close
- open "test.odt"
- macro will not work

conclusion:
macro execution should be disabled as soon as macro source code has changed.
user should be warned editing signed macro code.
