[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116274] Cannot open an excel workbook, "maximum number of columns per sheet" - in 64bit Calc on Windows

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116274

I have created a new blank sheet and copied the data from the sheet that caused
the Libreoffice warning. I haven't tested it using latest Libreoffice released
https://www.dropbox.com/s/62i3ithgob8uvz6/Meningsm%C3%A5linger-2017%20-%20recreated%20sheet.xlsx?dl=0

Maybe you could try and see if okay?

And I appreciate such help and advice (work around). For me it is almost
impossible to pin point what the problem is and where. So hoo ray - to your
debug support.

Cheers

(but still hope compatibility problem is resolved)

Thank you Roman for your feedback.
Let's put this one to WFM then. No need to blacklist all the old buggy drivers.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119949] New: Filter broken by blank line

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119949

Bug ID: 119949
Summary: Filter broken by blank line
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ddascalescu+freedesk...@gmail.com

Description:
Certain blank lines in a sheet cause filtering in filtered columns to stop -
any values in the column beyond that line will be displayed, even if they don't
match the filter.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached .ods file and follow the instructions within; namely:
2. Click the autofiltered column header
3. Uncheck all but "VISA"

Actual Results:
Extraneous rows are present after filtering

Expected Results:
Only row 2 should be visible after filtering.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This breaks badly expense tracking in sheets that have total rows (a total row
would have a blank value for the filtered "Payment" column from the example).

The bug is probably reproducible on all OS-es, and I've tested on Ubuntu.

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119946

Bug ID: 119946
Summary: Formula editor does not resize formula box when
changing font size
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: brian.bj.parke...@gmail.com

Description:
When inserting a formula into Impress, when resizing the font inside the
formula editor the bounding box does not increase in size, cutting off the
formula. If one goes back to impress then double clicks on the formula then the
bounding box is correct.
Inserting a formula into writer, however, works correctly.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Impress document
2. Insert|object|formula
3. enter some formula
4. format|font size...
5. set font size to some large, say 51
6. formula not gets clipped as bounding box is not increased
7. click on Impress slide to deactivate formula editor
8. double click on formula to reactivate formula editor
9. bounding box is now correctly resized

Actual Results:
formula bounding box is too small and formula is clipped

Expected Results:
when resizing font in formula editor (with Impress) the formula bounding box
should increase to show all of the enlarged formula.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119923] Error de traducción en LibreOffice Impress 6.1.1 - Versión en Español - Menú Insertar - Opción "Slide Number"

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I want to correct the path where the error appears:

1. Open LibreOffice Impress 6.1.1, and 6.0.6, Spanish version.
2. Go to the "Insert" Menu. In Spanish: "Insertar".
3. Look for the "Slide Number" option. There is the error. That option appears
in English, but it should appear in Spanish because I am reporting this error
for LO Impress in Spanish.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119473] Translation missing in LibreOffice 6.1> Calc, spanish version, Notebook Bar> 'Insertar' tab> 'Field'

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119473

It is correct, the bug 119920 can be a duplicate of bug 119473. However, I
reported the error again because at this moment I am testing and using
Libreoffice Calc 6.1.1 in Spanish and I find that the reported error has not
been resolved.
There is the translation error again. That is to say, it was not resolved in
version 6.1.1. I understand that, possibly, this bug has not been resolved
because I reported it in my native language (Spanish) or you do not find the
route to get to the error using the new experimental User Interface with Tabs.
To get to the error, please follow this route:

1. Open LibreOffice Calc 6.1.1, Spanish version.
2. Activate the New Interface with Tabs like this: Go to "View" Menu - User
Interface - Tabbed. In Spanish it would be: "Ver"> "Interfaz de Usuario"> "En
Pestañas".
3. Go to the "Insert" Tab. In Spanish it would be: "Insertar".
4. Look for "Field" icon. There is the error. This option appears in English.
Therefore, spanish translation is missing.
5. "Campo" should appear instead of "Field".
6. To see the Menu Bar again:
a. Go to the “View” Tab. In Spanish “Ver”.
b. At the end, on the right border, look for the drop-down list “View”. In
Spanish “Ver”.
c. Search and select the Menu Bar option. In Spanish “Barra de Menús”.

Thank you for your attention. (Gracias a Ustedes por su atención).

Yes, I had "Automatic" zoom. I selected "Single page" instead, and now "Hide
whitespace" is available in the menu. Selecting this menu entry did what I
wanted. :)

I also tried to use the mouse, and as soon as I remembered to double-click,
that worked too.

Should this be closed as RESOLVED? Or should it be reclassified as a usability
problem because it is hard for users to know how to achieve what they want?

Perhaps it should be possible to access "Hide whitespace" even in Automatic
mode, and if hiding whitespace is incompatible with the functionality of
automatic zoom, automatic zoom should be automatically deselected when the user
activates "Hide whitespace".

I also question if it should be enough to click once in the gap between pages.
What is the advantage of binding this function to a double-click?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119940] Bolding a Hebrew word in a sentence with David CTL font changes the intra-word spacing of surrounding words

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119940

The bold word במסמך is 3% narrower than the regular one. It looks like the
change in width due to emboldening moves the successive glyphs by a fraction of
a pixel, thus making some glyphs move a pixel and others just stay in place.

This is probably a limitation of the renderer which would take some effort to
resolve.

Some higher-end TrueType fonts employ subpixel instructing technique to
overcome this issue at small font sizes (i.e. where glyph height doesn't exceed
12-15 pixels). This technique requires a huge amount of work on the affected
font, and you would probably buy a retina display long before I get to do it.

Different zoom levels - on some zoom levels the bug persists, on others the
bold word expands and all the following words move, which I guess is
acceptable.
Other fonts: Checking on Windows: I didn't install any specific fonts, just the
ones that come with the default installation.
I'm not sure how can I tell which font is from Culmus as I can't find most of
them (http://culmus.sourceforge.net/culmus.pdf) I can't find.
For instance, There is a font named Miriam, which doesn't reproduce the
problem, and a font named מרים (Hebrew for Miriam) which does reproduce.

A year has passed with no comment from Chris Sherlock nor any other action on

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119940] New: Bolding a Hebrew word in a sentence with David CTL font changes the intra-word spacing of surrounding words

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119940

Bug ID: 119940
Summary: Bolding a Hebrew word in a sentence with David CTL
font changes the intra-word spacing of surrounding
words
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: i...@miara.com

Description:
The following bug is related to Hebrew text on LibreOffice 6.1.1.2. it was
reproduced on Windows and Linux.
I could not reproduce the problem on MS-Office or with LO-Impress with the same
font.
The text is not justified.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start new document
2. write some Hebrew sentence using the David CLM font (which is the default
font on Windows)
3. bold some random word
4. notice that some intra-word spacing on some surrounding words have changed
5. try to bold some other word, other spaces would change...
David CLM font. It can’t be reproduced with English font or with MS-Office with
the same font.

Actual Results:
some intra-word spacing on some surrounding words have changed

Expected Results:
no change of intra-word spacing of any other words

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I'm attaching to pictures, before with a random word bold/not bold

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73933] TABLE: Numbers are shown from left to right in "Number range" variable when used in RTL scripts.

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73933

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this issue seems to not be about tables only, but
any case of "nested numbering", e.g. heading numbers and so on.

And you're arguing that the default should be "First number on the left, last
number on the right" rather than "First number comes first, last number comes
last".

Myself, I like the style you argue for when the numbering involves numerals and
Latin characters, but _not_ when it involves RTL language characters.

Example:

In Hebrew, א is the first character in the alphabet, followed by ב and then ג.
If I read "א.ג" (Aleph on right, then Gimel on left) - I would interpret it as
the third item in the first section/chapter, regardless of whether I read it in
an RTL paragraph or not.

Hah! You are correct! Just now, I did the same thing but went into
"File/Reload" which I rarely use the "File" method. I've been using the "click
and hold on the open folder GUI button. It's quicker.

I was about to yell at you 'cause I didn't try it that way the other day.

I suppose it would have been nice if you had told me the step by step method
and explained to do it EXACTLY that way.
Think of me as a beginner and I have been doing it "My Way". because I have
been doing it "My Way" for two years.

I suppose, if I can find the time, I try this a few times AFTER saving it
under a different name in the hopes of having a good copy. The bugs I have
reported so far are extremely intermittent. Trying it just one time will not
work. As it says in the title of this bug..."Occasionally, LO Calc loses blocks
of comments"

The problem of displaying number seperators is still not resolved in 6.1.1.2 on
Windows. The original files (both .doc and .docx) have numbers like "1-1-1-".
In LO it is displayed as "1.1.1-".

I didn't understand the first issue, but I'm attaching a new screenshot with
recent versions of MS Office and LO with these docs opened.

> different?
Because columns and rows act very differently in terms of response to
data-entry. Columns do not auto-grow, but rows do. Columns do not need to fit
all of the content, but rows do.

So, only three row options make sense. 1.) minimize (reduce the table size),
or 2.) equally space for symmetry (based on the largest row - increase the
table size). 3.) Additionally, I could see the value in combining minimize,
followed by an equally space (symmetry using the minimal space) with a
no-shrink requirement. This allows the bottom row to be increased to the
desired table size, and then that huge row is distributed among the other rows
(the situation described in comment 0). [the user could also combine minimize,
followed by equally space to achieve minimal symmetry in a shrunken table.]

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114734] Comment direction lost on saving-then-reloading a .docx

Created attachment 144958
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=144958=edit
A document for reproducing the bug

The bug doesn't manifest by loading this document; you need to take the last
several steps of the reproduction instructions:

5. Set the comment box paragraph's direction to RTL, manually
6. Save as DOCX
7. Close the document
8. Open the file you just saved

And you'll see the bug.

2018-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114734

In fact, the bug applies more generally than I had previously thought - it
doesn't require importing a DOCX:

1. Create a new Writer document
2. Make sure the default style's direction is LTR
3. Type in some text (doesn't really matter, you could just comment on an empty
paragraph, but to be nice.)
4. Insert a comment with a single paragraph of text - enough text to require
multiple lines in the comment box
5. Set the comment box paragraph's direction to RTL, manually
6. Save as DOCX
7. Close the document
8. Open the file you just saved

The comment will have LTR direction. If you do this via an ODT rather than a
DOCX (in step 6) you won't get this bug.

Managed to reproduce it by following your instructions on the "Downstream
