Writer uses a layer "Controls" with uppercase C but Draw/Impress use "controls" with lowercase c. The problem is, that in Draw/Impress the feature "layer" is not only an internal tool, but is relevant for UI and file format. And "controls" with lowercase c has been written to file from the beginning. Writer and Calc do not have any layers in ODF, but they use this tool only for internal purpose. Calc does it cleverer, and does not use a string but "constexpr SdrLayerID SC_LAYER_CONTROLS(3);" in global.hxx. This reduces visual noise and communicates, that all these connections are similar. If these connectors have the "dashed" line style, the "common" part that goes into the target box, appears as a single solid line, because of the overlap of multiple dashed lines. In diagrams, when there are multiple connectors from multiple boxes, going into a single target box, I like to "group" them together into a single "lane". This reduces visual noise and communicates, that all these connections are similar. Using the connectors currently available in LO, I get close to the desired result. There is a small problem though. Because these connectors meet at straight angles, they do not guide the eye into the right direction. This can be a problem in large diagrams, when there is a distance between the connected boxes. A connector type with rounded edges would solve that quite elegantly. The lanes coming from multiple boxes would "flow" into the main lane going into the target box. See attachment for visual examples. In LO, I can create the result only by piecing together the connectors from curves, shapes and lines. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97907] Sort extends database range
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97907 --- Comment #5 from lrpckr --- As stated by Buovjaga, it doesn't confirm with the first description of the bug. But with the description and document added in comment 2, I can confirm the behavior. - create a new one column data range (data>define range...) - select the created data range - sort - extend selection on "sort range" dialog - the data range is updated to the extended selection It seams like a bug to me as the user never explicitly wanted to change the data range. Also, it happens when the selection is made with the "select range" on the data menu, AND when the selection of the data range is made manually.
