For tables it is more complicated, because there you have to consider the representation of table templates in ODF in addition to style and its inheritance. Yes, I opened bug 120854 on the general support of this feature (ie. being able to adjust the settings in Writer in similar manner to Word, feature differences considered). Otherwise I'm not sure how similar the issue is to bug 104494, the symptoms are rather different, that's why I decided opening a new ticket. I just realized that this seems to be a more general issue with the menu item indices. e.g. clicking some items under "View" -> "Toolbar" most of the time either enables/disables another toolbar than selected or crashes LibreOffice.
