[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121480] Add generalized Pan control at point of selection -- i.e. a Hand tool

Got it. Not really nice with the toggle and the duplicate functionality whether
the mode is on or off but acceptable from the UX POV.

So the remaining question is why do we need this in Writer? And in Calc as well
Math, Base it's totally pointless.

Impress is a specialized Draw, so both will work very similarly. Additional to
your ideas we should request the sidebar deck (for some reason still an
experimental feature).

Check back if more detailed requirements or mockups are needed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84517] UI: wrong number of selected rows in status bar when rows are filtered

2018-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84517

I am experiencing the same (bug 121551) but also, noted that if the sheet
contains a couple of thousand rows and 40+ columns then the value summaries
-total, average- of the selected rows also appear to be calculated on the total
value of all the cells in the unfiltered range. As noted, cutting and pasting
to a new "unfiltered" location, sheet, document, produces the correct
summaries.

The summaries are also impacted if the filtered rows are sorted on one of the
other filters. Sorting on the actual filtered column then rectifies the
summaries. There are some fairly definitive screen images attached to that
closed report.

It would also surprise me if this is not a cause of the printing anomaly
whereby the "end of page" for the printed output is "erratic" - some pages in
the multi-page document will contain perhaps 10 lines whilst others may be only
1 or 2 lines short of a full page and not quite so noticeable.

If it's of any assistance, I can provide a completely anonymised sheet with
3000+ rows of actual data, where the personal information is encrypted - but
still sortable. Definitely no GDPR issues and masses of permutation
possibilities.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121571] New: Notes and warnings in help have the wrong icons

2018-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121571

Bug ID: 121571
Summary: Notes and warnings in help have the wrong icons
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Created attachment 146857
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=146857=edit
Notes and warnings — before and after

It’s always bothered me that notes are yellow instead of green, and warnings
are red instead of yellow. It creates cognitive dissonances across the help
content.

To solve this, the browser-based help should use the icons from
core/icon-themes/colibre_svg/res/helpimg instead of from
core/icon-themes/colibre_svg/help (I don’t know why the latter folder exists —
it’s just duplication).

Once solved, the note icon should become a green check mark instead of a yellow
clipboard, and the warning icon should become a yellow shield instead of a red
alert sign.

See the attachment for details.

In case anyone is interested the 'XINERAMA' bug of old is still there in the
latest Debian upgrade, that's version 1:5.2.7-1 of libreoffice. It seems this
has been around for ages and is not considered important, but I thought I'd
mention it. I'm now using abiword for .docx files, and it works fine.

Ok, so let me pose a question to you: How do I CHANGE the color of the text in
LibreOffice base table editing? I can change the color of the syntax checking,
but I see no way to control the table text color. Such would seem to be a good
way to fix this, since, as I said, the problem doesn't show up in editable
queries.

Start Impress with a new presentation without using a template.
Add a shape to the master, add a shape to the slide.
Save the document by clicking on "save" button.

The "file save as" dialog opens. Enter a file name and save.

Observed behavior: The dialog closes and opens immediately again. The document
is not saved. This behavior repeats when click on "save". The effect is, that
it is not possible to save a newly created document.

Simple save of on already existing document works, but "save as" does not work
for existing document too.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121568] New: calc: move cell does not update row sum

2018-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121568

Bug ID: 121568
Summary: calc: move cell does not update row sum
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: satp...@gmail.com

Description:
See attached test case. Sum two rows: A1 + B1 = C1; A2 + B2 = C2 where B1 is
blank. Cut B2 and paste into B1. Result C2 is decremented correctly by old B2
value; but result C1 is NOT incremented by new B1 value. Formula of C1 remains
correct =SUM($Sheet1.A1:B1) as is C2's formula but C1 result is wrong. Saving
file, close and re-open does not fix incorrect C1 result. Undo undo to return
to initial state results in C2 now having incorrect result. Bug occurs whether
drag and drop or control-x/control-v used. This is a data integrity issue as
the wrong answer is being displayed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Sum two rows: A1 + B1 = C1; A2 + B2 = C2 where B1 is blank.
2. Cut B2 and paste into B1. Result C2 is decremented correctly by old B2
value; but result C1 is NOT incremented by new B1 value.
3. Formula of C1 remains correct =SUM($Sheet1.A1:B1) as is C2's formula but C1
result is wrong.
4. Saving file, close and re-open does not fix incorrect C1 result.
5. Undo undo to return to initial state results in C2 now having incorrect
result.
6. Bug occurs whether drag and drop or control-x/control-v used.

Actual Results:
C1 not incremented by new B1 value; undo does not return to initial state

Expected Results:
C1 incremented by new B1 value; undo does return to initial state

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Reproduced reliably by olivier.til...@canonical.com on Ubuntu 16.04 and 19.04
(libreoffice 6.1.3.2).
He can also reproduce the issue with the upstream build of libreoffice
(6.1.3.2)

The problem still exists in Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)

PowerPoint does not wrap the text. My suggestion is to set
fo:wrap-option="wrap" in the default style, because that is more likely the
desired behavior of text in shapes than "no-wrap".

Will most likely not be implemented from a developer perspective. I think it

2018-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121566

Bug ID: 121566
Summary: Error creating PDF document (Writer)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gskoczylas+libreoff...@gmail.com

Description:
I'm using the LibreOffice 6.1.3.2 (64-bit). I create documents in writer and
export them to PDF format.

If the "Show PDF document" option is set then existing PDF document is shown
BEFORE new document is created.

It worked correctly in earlier 6.1 version.

Tested only with the Writer. Don't know about other components.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open document in Writer.
2. Export it as PDF. Remember to set option "Display PDF after export"
3. Modify document in Writer.
4. Export it as PDF again, with the same settings.

Perhaps it is also important to set option "Edit document properties before
save" option in the Load/Save options.

Actual Results:
Both document properties window and existing PDF document are displayed. It is
not possible to continue exporting without closing PDF. Document contains
previous version of the document.

Expected Results:
PDF document should be displayed AFTER exporting the document.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I'm using Polish version of the LibreOffice.

Still repro with 6.2 beta1 (Win).

In the Text import dialog, you have to select the header that says "Standard"
and change the column type from the drop down to Date (YMD)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121564] New: Selecting a printer in the dialog box elevates the number of copies

2018-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121564

Bug ID: 121564
Summary: Selecting a printer in the dialog box elevates the
number of copies
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: 2piotr...@googlemail.com

Description:
Working with several printers under Windows 10, I have run into the above
issue.
The default printer has "1" as the number of copies in the "print" dialogue, as
it should. If you then try to select another printer, the number of copies will
be automatically elevated to another number (3, 5..) - this number seems to
follow the alphabetically sorted position of the selected printer (like
Canon=2, Epson=3, HP=5 etc.). My current version of LO is 6.0.6.2 (x64),
Windows ver. 1803 (build 17134.407) - the previous version already had this
bug, but it took some time to trace. The workaround is easy: reset the number
to 1 before printing.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Call Printer dialog (ctrl+p)
2. Select a different printer
3. Check the number of copies

Actual Results:
see description

Expected Results:
incorrect number of copies printed if you overlook the changed number in the
dialog box

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The number should have remained at the default "1"

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121560] Multiple but not all worksheets completely suddenly blank

2018-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121560

I did some research before reporting this bug. I couldn't find anything
directly relevant.

I did find some discussion about an intra-threads bug where the fix went into
5.2.x.

This spreadsheet is a native created-with-Calc spreadsheet. It's never been an
.xls.

It has never been stored on a networked filesystem; always direct local SSD
access.

I will admit to fat-fingering sometimes in Calc, and having to undo to recover
from it. However, the exact specific sequence of actions needed to accomplish a
"sheet reset" would be very hard to perform accidentally:
- length of sequence of "accidental" actions
- some actions are mouse-only; they have no keyboard equivalent

I've added a cron job to make nightly backups. If this happens again, I'll have
better history to add here and no data loss.

I'm unsure whether turning on Track Changes will help, but I've done that as
well.

I think I recall a couple of times where opening the sheet took a long time,
but I'm not certain about that.

I'm an embedded C developer; I can drink from the firehose.

I am pretty sure that I had opened and then performed a couple of ctrl-s saves

The copy in $HOME/.config/libreoffice/4/user/backup was equally not helpful
(still have it though, just in case).

I have a spreadsheet I've been working on/with for 18 months give or take.

The last time I used it, yesterday or the day before, everything was fine, as
far as I know. The last time I would have seen those sheets directly would be
Oct 31 2018 while using ctrl-pgup / -pgdn to cycle past the tabs. I would have
noticed them being blank at that time.

Today I opened it at lunch, and two of the worksheets are completely blank. All
data is gone. The other worksheets are fine.

It is as if I had executed this sequence of steps:
- group tabs "Losses - Legend" and "Errands" by clicking one sheet and
ctrl-clicking the second sheet
- ctrl-a to select all
- right-click
- Clear contents...
- check off "Delete all"
- press OK

Or some equivalent set of steps that takes even longer than that. I can
guarantee that I did not do that accidentally.

Data and formatting are completely gone, including borders, cell/column/row
sizing and fill colours. The sheets look like they have been just-created;
default everything for a blank sheet.

Steps to Reproduce:
No idea how this occurred.

Actual Results:
No idea how to reproduce this.

Expected Results:
Spreadsheet does not lose data

Reproducible: Didn't try

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The spreadsheet was created on an Ubuntu 16.04 system with whatever release of
LibreOffice was current at the time I created the spreadsheet, around maybe Jul
2017.

As a rule, I hibernate when moving my laptop from home to office.

I usually use ctrl-s to save before exiting.

I don't believe my laptop has encountered a drained battery situation recently,
but has in the past and may have since the end of Oct when I last knew with
reasonable certainty that the worksheets were ok.

Formular-values was fixed before, date-values still was open.

There are two possible resolutions here:
1. to say WontFix because likely number of users is not big; someone may create
an extension, just like in given example;
2. to confirm as New enhancement with some low priority; and to be aware that
this may never be fixed, until some volunteers to accept it.
