[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119871] New feature “spell out” numbering doesn't work on Linux (Vanilla)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119871 --- Comment #7 from Jens Radloff --- Update: I am using Debian "Stretch" (stable release, version 9.6). The above-mentioned programme libnumbertext which probably would resolve the issue on my machine is not available as a Debian package for the currently stable release of Debian. But libnumbertext is part of the Debian package python3-num2words (0.5.6-1), which is available for the currently unstable Debian release "Sid": https://packages.debian.org/sid/python3-num2words The Python section of all available Debian packages for the stable Debian release "Stretch" does not contain the package python3-num2words: https://packages.debian.org/stable/python/ So I have to wait until appr. 2021 to resolve the issue reported in this bug entry. Then the currently unstable release "Sid" probably will have become stable, refer to: https://wiki.debian.org/DebianReleases I do not like to use testing and unstable Debian releases. By the way, as far as I can remember the behaviour described in this bug entry also occurs in LO version 5.x which is part of the Debian repositories for the stable Debian release 9.x Regards, Jens -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105394] A warning should be issued if one of the cells included in the computation has a value of any kind that is not taken into account in the result
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105394 --- Comment #14 from Bruno Pagani --- Yes, it works if the locale setting is correct for all cells, and since this has been understood the issue has been about how this could go unnoticed and have adverse effects. For instance, my case was for the grade of students, and the effect would have been for their final grade to not take into account the first exam of the year. And it this precise case, that was enough for the student to pass or not. It would have gone unnoticed if I hadn’t computed the mean of grades independently. All I’m asking for is to issue a warning to the user when they apply any formula on cells with different locale settings amongst them, or maybe even better to issue a warning when some non-empty cells are not considered for computation in the selected area. Because visually, there is nothing that tells you the first cell has a wrong format. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121987 Bug ID: 121987 Summary: Windows: MSI installation fails if WU service is disabled hard way Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.3.1 rc Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Installation Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com Since https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/1882827320ed760de82211cf690b686f8d34ff74, an attempt to install UCRT will be performed regardless there is an evidence that it's present on the system, to workaround some cases where the existing UCRT is broken (bug 115405, bug 119910). But that made other errors to emerge: on systems where users disable WU service using some exotic ways, installer is unable to enable the service, and fails. [1][2] Examples of such hard-disables are using `sc delete` [3] and associating WU service with a guest account. Many such cases are reported for Windows 10, where installation of the UCRT is not required. So the solution (imperfect, but possibly the best possible here) is to allow installer to continue in case of failure enabling the service. This will automatically eliminate all problems related to Win10; and also for cases where users are advanced enough (the majority of such hard-disable cases should be those), it might be enough to add a relevant FAQ entry. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121985] New: Editing any slide element (text, shapes, images, etc.) causes noticeable lags
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121985 Bug ID: 121985 Summary: Editing any slide element (text, shapes, images, etc.) causes noticeable lags Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.3.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: s...@posteo.at Description: First of all, THANK YOU developers for your hard work! I LOVE LibreOffice, it's a great peace of software with a good cause and I don't want to aggravate anyone by reporting this. However, at this point, I feel I have to. Here's the deal: Creating and editing slides in Impress (basically: just using it) starts out with slight UI lags/freezes. This isn't too bad, but adding more slides and/or more slide elements makes matters worse quickly. The lags/freezes reach a point where it takes me several seconds to being able a simple text box after I click it. And even then selecting, removing or adding text may take as much between one and several seconds. The same goes for other procedures, such as moving elements (e.g. a picture) around on a slide - it's really choppy and gets worse with time (as the presentation 'grows' and contains more slides and/or elements). I don't know how to be more specific, basically anything I do with slides in Impress' is laggy for me. It has now reached a level where I basically have to turn to other programs to create the simplest presentations. Writer or Calc, to some extent, suffer the same problems, but not nearly as bad as Impress. Enabling/disabling OpenGL/OpenCL; resetting my user profile; reinstalling the LO or the entire OS seems to have little to no effect. Bug reports I've found and *think* that they are somehow related to this (since they describe one or more aspects of what I'm experiencing): 104295/105500/112610/116975/120461 The version I'm reporting this for comes from the official 'Fresh' PPA (ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-6-1). The problem, however, persists for me since version 5.x.x.x and seems to have worsened over time. So the behavior described above is reproducable for me over multiple versions of LO, over a period of time, on different PCs and notebooks, on different operating systems (mostly Ubuntu-based, however), with installations from the official repositories or from the LibreOffice PPA. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create some simple text-based or 'heavy' image-/graphic-based slides with Impress (makes no difference for me, but 'heavy' presentations will show the fault sooner). 2. Try editing some text, move shapes/images around, add more slides to the presentation. 3. At some point (I can't really pinpoint it) actions like selecting a textbox/an image/etc., moving it, editing it and so on become less and less responsive. Actual Results: Changes are not displayed smoothly but are choppy/laggy to the point of being displayed with a delay of several seconds. Expected Results: Selecting/Editing/Moving items should happen rather instantaneously and smoothly. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 6.1.3.2 Build-ID: 1:6.1.3~rc2-0ubuntu0.18.04.2 CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Linux 4.15; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: gtk3_kde5; Gebietsschema: de-AT (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded --- Operating System: KDE neon 5.14 Processors: 4× AMD A8-5545M APU with Radeon HD Graphics Memory: 7.0 GiB of RAM -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
