That indicates you are still running/accessing the old version, it should show
the current version, which at the moment is 3.4.2.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119871] New feature “spell out” numbering doesn't work on Linux (Vanilla)

2018-12-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119871

Update:

I am using Debian "Stretch" (stable release, version 9.6).

The above-mentioned programme libnumbertext which probably would resolve the
issue on my machine is not available as a Debian package for the currently
stable release of Debian.

But libnumbertext is part of the Debian package python3-num2words (0.5.6-1),
which is available for the currently unstable Debian release "Sid":

https://packages.debian.org/sid/python3-num2words

The Python section of all available Debian packages for the stable Debian
release "Stretch" does not contain the package python3-num2words:

https://packages.debian.org/stable/python/

So I have to wait until appr. 2021 to resolve the issue reported in this bug
entry. Then the currently unstable release "Sid" probably will have become
stable, refer to:

https://wiki.debian.org/DebianReleases

I do not like to use testing and unstable Debian releases.

By the way, as far as I can remember the behaviour described in this bug entry
also occurs in LO version 5.x which is part of the Debian repositories for the
stable Debian release 9.x

Regards,

Jens

A note here, this bug started in two steps, because even before the change in
5.0, the order of images is reversed. In 3.3.0 the order is correct, in 3.5.0.3
the images aren't imported, and in 4.2.0.4 they appear, but the legend is above
the chart, while it should be below.

Otherwise, wouldn't they be better handled if moved to receive the same
handling in all icon-themes?

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121992] New: The latest download of LibreOffice_6.1.3_Win_x64.msi refuses to finish the installl

2018-12-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121992

Bug ID: 121992
Summary: The latest download of LibreOffice_6.1.3_Win_x64.msi
refuses to finish the installl
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yrret...@sbcglobal.net

Description:
Using Windows 10 verion 1709
The latest download of LibreOffice_6.1.3_Win_x64.msi refuses to finish the
install
Needed to report this issue if anyone else is experiencing this.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Tried installing. But won't finish installing.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
I tried installing LibreOffice_6.1.3_Win_x64.msi several times.
I even tried it from a CMD box Run as Administrator.
I also tried re-downloading in case the download was corrupt.
I also tried it with my antivirus programs disabled.
It always gets to the point where it's suppose to install the files in the
directory, and then freezes and times out.
I reinstalled LibreOffice_6.1.2.1_Win_x64.msi and it installs fine and runs
fine.
Only other point to mention is I installed it on my H: drive because of windows
10 unsatisfying thirst for space on my C: drive.
But that really shouldn't be a problem, unless the install code was changed. As
the previous version always installs fine.

Expected Results:
Install

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
My UserProfile should be just fine. As reinstalling the earlier version,
installs fine without any issue, and works fine.

Also, thanks for your excellent program, and hope you can fine out what is, or
what might be causing the issue on my system with the latest version?
Thanks for looking into to this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65231] EDITING: Enable to change the color for record changes without loosing the differentiation between authors

2018-12-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65231

Can we just change the default (first author) color to a *readable* color?

The yellow/gold color is horrible, as many people have said here and elsewhere.
Just change it to something darker and think about a proper fix later...

(I suspect that the fix we really want might break MS Word compatibility. But
just making the current algorithm use readable colors should be relatively
easy?)

I don't understand, for me Ctrl-A opens the file picker dialog, and Cmd-A opens

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105394] A warning should be issued if one of the cells included in the computation has a value of any kind that is not taken into account in the result

2018-12-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105394

Yes, it works if the locale setting is correct for all cells, and since this
has been understood the issue has been about how this could go unnoticed and
have adverse effects. For instance, my case was for the grade of students, and
the effect would have been for their final grade to not take into account the
first exam of the year. And it this precise case, that was enough for the
student to pass or not. It would have gone unnoticed if I hadn’t computed the
mean of grades independently.

All I’m asking for is to issue a warning to the user when they apply any
formula on cells with different locale settings amongst them, or maybe even
better to issue a warning when some non-empty cells are not considered for
computation in the selected area. Because visually, there is nothing that tells
you the first cell has a wrong format.

Another notice:
Bug seems to be in connection with marking of several SINGLE cells only.

Bug does not come up if one or more ranges are marked at first that contain a
lot of cells before single cells are additionally(!) marked.
Then a huge number of single cells can be marked without any system slow-down.

Bug does come up if a lot of single cells are marked.

there is an print tab available which is now active and the other tabs have the
non possible actions grayed out. only in the hometab the styles icons (H1, H2,
...) are not grayed out, but the reason is how this commands are integrated
into the notebookbar.

for me this bug is fixed in 6.2

extensions/source/update/ui/onlineupdate_26

are available in

- breeze, breeze_dark, breeze_svg
- colibre, colibre_svg
- elementary, elementary_svg

where onlineupdate_26 is 24x24px and onlineupdate_16 is 16x16px

in karasa_jaga onlineupdate_26 is 66x21px and onlineupdate_16 is 44x13px
and in tango onlineupdate_26 is 22x22px and onlineupdate_16 is 16x16px

in sifr, sifr_dark, sifr_svg and tango_svg the icons are missing.

so from my point of view I don't think it's an icon issue the issue is
somewhere in the code.

(Not sure it's quite the last version, but it's what I have -- it's the current
version on Debian testing)

Still happens as described. One more thing I noted now, which I don't see in
the descriptions:

Before starting the animation, note in the Arabic text, the diacritic of the
letter Meem (a slanted line under the left end of the right-side word). Now
start slide show. When the animation ends, other diacritics show up, but this
one does not.

Using Ubuntu 18.04.1 and LO 6.2Beta1

Using the attached file created 3 new tables, copies of the original, but with
the datatype changed during the copy from decimal to double, numeric and float.

NOTE - in the current Base GUI (import and table designer) double and float
only allow one decimal place, while the decimal values used 2.

Using the same query against each of the tables:
double and float run as expected.
numeric has the exact problem decimal does

updated the summary to reflect.

Since
https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/1882827320ed760de82211cf690b686f8d34ff74, an
attempt to install UCRT will be performed regardless there is an evidence that
it's present on the system, to workaround some cases where the existing UCRT is
broken (bug 115405, bug 119910).

But that made other errors to emerge: on systems where users disable WU service
using some exotic ways, installer is unable to enable the service, and fails.
[1][2] Examples of such hard-disables are using `sc delete` [3] and associating
WU service with a guest account. Many such cases are reported for Windows 10,
where installation of the UCRT is not required.

So the solution (imperfect, but possibly the best possible here) is to allow
installer to continue in case of failure enabling the service. This will
automatically eliminate all problems related to Win10; and also for cases where
users are advanced enough (the majority of such hard-disable cases should be
those), it might be enough to add a relevant FAQ entry.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116893] Firebird - Error when transferring/pasting NUMERIC or DECIMAL table data

Created attachment 147393

Results of importing data from Calc intro firebird

Today on the QA irc channel a report was made concerning importing data from
Calc into Base with firebird db. The results of doing this using drag drop from
calc to base, using the data from the users report as decimal, then double,
then numeric datatypes on the Base side are shown in the graphic.

The data in the calc sheet is:
9000.00 0.00 9000.00
 200.00 0.00 9200.00
   0.00 100.00 9100.00

If the auto detect function is used in the import wizard DOUBLE is the selected
datatype for the new table columns and in that case all the data comes in
properly.

For DECIMAL and NUMERIC the data does not come in properly, but is consistent
in both cases.
900.00 0.00 900.00
 20.00 0.00 920.00

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121985] New: Editing any slide element (text, shapes, images, etc.) causes noticeable lags

2018-12-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121985

Bug ID: 121985
Summary: Editing any slide element (text, shapes, images, etc.)
causes noticeable lags
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: s...@posteo.at

Description:
First of all, THANK YOU developers for your hard work! I LOVE LibreOffice, it's
a great peace of software with a good cause and I don't want to aggravate
anyone by reporting this. However, at this point, I feel I have to.

Here's the deal: Creating and editing slides in Impress (basically: just using
it) starts out with slight UI lags/freezes. This isn't too bad, but adding more
slides and/or more slide elements makes matters worse quickly. The lags/freezes
reach a point where it takes me several seconds to being able a simple text box
after I click it. And even then selecting, removing or adding text may take as
much between one and several seconds.

The same goes for other procedures, such as moving elements (e.g. a picture)
around on a slide - it's really choppy and gets worse with time (as the
presentation 'grows' and contains more slides and/or elements).

I don't know how to be more specific, basically anything I do with slides in
Impress' is laggy for me. It has now reached a level where I basically have to
turn to other programs to create the simplest presentations. Writer or Calc, to
some extent, suffer the same problems, but not nearly as bad as Impress.

Enabling/disabling OpenGL/OpenCL; resetting my user profile; reinstalling the
LO or the entire OS seems to have little to no effect.

Bug reports I've found and *think* that they are somehow related to this (since
they describe one or more aspects of what I'm experiencing):
104295/105500/112610/116975/120461

The version I'm reporting this for comes from the official 'Fresh' PPA
(ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-6-1). The problem, however, persists for me since
version 5.x.x.x and seems to have worsened over time. So the behavior described
above is reproducable for me over multiple versions of LO, over a period of
time, on different PCs and notebooks, on different operating systems (mostly
Ubuntu-based, however), with installations from the official repositories or
from the LibreOffice PPA.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create some simple text-based or 'heavy' image-/graphic-based slides with
Impress (makes no difference for me, but 'heavy' presentations will show the
fault sooner).

2. Try editing some text, move shapes/images around, add more slides to the
presentation.

3. At some point (I can't really pinpoint it) actions like selecting a
textbox/an image/etc., moving it, editing it and so on become less and less
responsive.

Actual Results:
Changes are not displayed smoothly but are choppy/laggy to the point of being
displayed with a delay of several seconds.

Expected Results:
Selecting/Editing/Moving items should happen rather instantaneously and
smoothly.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes
