[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122398] UI: Cannot specify date in axis scale
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122398 --- Comment #1 from Kriton Kyrimis --- If I set the minimum value of the X axis in chart.ods to 09/04/1900, save, and unpack, I see that chart:minimum has a value of 100 in "Object 2/content.xml". Could it be that there is an incorrect range check for dates, permitting values in the 0-100 range, like percentages, instead of whatever is appropriate for dates? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

E.g., see attached chart.ods. If I uncheck the minimum or maximum value of the X axis, the corresponding input field will show 09/04/1900, and the spinner controls will only allow decreasing that value. If I enter a later date by hand, e.g., 01/01/2019, and hit tab, that date will be changed to 09/04/1900. This seems to be a UI only issue. If I unpack the ods file, edit the corresponding content.xml file by hand, adjust chart:minimum to an appropriate value (e.g., 43466 for 1/1/2019), and repack, the chart scale appears correct, though LibreOffice still shows 09/04/1900 in the Format Axis dialog, and still does not allow entering higher values. The same goes for charts that had been created with previous versions of LibreOffice. The problem appears with both the gtk and the kde UI. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121380] LibreOffice base readability issue with Dark Theme
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121380 --- Comment #18 from ckore...@atlanticbb.net --- It seems that Libre (like certain other programs) suffers from a general issue with producing very low contrast text-vs-background combinations under under certain conditions that are difficult to enumerate. Configuring Libre to light text on a dark background and/or using a dark desktop/toolkit theme, seem to trigger these issues. I'm fighting a couple of them now (white text on a pale yellow background in Writer comments, black formulas on a black background in writer). Sometimes switching desktop themes will cure the issue in one context while causing it somewhere else. I understand that light-on-dark is helpful for people with some kinds of weak vision. I personally find it much easier to look at over time, even though my vision is not horrible. I wonder if it would be practical to implement a bit of code in LO that checks the contrast between text and background and tweaks the font color automatically to avoid these situations. This would probably need to be made optional to avoid interfering with people who actually *want* low contrast. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116585 --- Comment #3 from ckore...@atlanticbb.net --- I see the same issue with the Adwaita-dark theme on GNOME3.30.2. I set the "Document background" to black and the "Font color" to white under "Options -> LibreOffice -> Application Colors" and inserted a formula in Writer by doing Alt-I - O - F to get the formula text entry box. The text in the entry box was white on a black background as expected, and the formula in the Writer page display was also white on a black background. But when I clicked on a blank part of the Writer document to finish entering the formula, the formula switched to black on black. I haven't found any way to change the color of the finished formula except by putting explicit colors in the formula itself. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122397] New: Editing: Writer jumps back to selected text when copying to another location using X-clipboard
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122397 Bug ID: 122397 Summary: Editing: Writer jumps back to selected text when copying to another location using X-clipboard Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.2.1 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ckore...@atlanticbb.net Description: When editing a multi-page document, using the X clipboard to copy text between pages causes an unwanted display jump from the page where the text was pasted back to the page from which it was copied. This is inconvenient for its own sake (since the user typically wants to continue editing where he just pasted the text). The problem is compounded by the fact that the original text remains selected, so that if the user then starts typing the original text is deleted. This behavior is inconsistent with the that of most (all?) other programs that support the X clipboard. It's also inconsistent with the behavior of Writer itself when the copy-and-paste is done via the ctrl+C, ctrl+V keystroke sequences. The current behavior is this: * Middle-click pastes the selected text at the mouse pointer position * The display jumps back to display the page with the previously-selected text * The previously-selected text remains selected Typically, the user must then manually de-select the text at its original position and then manually return to the page where he pasted it in order to continue editing there. To improve this, it would be useful to change the middle-click behavior to be consistent with other programs that support the X clipboard: * Middle-click pastes the selected text at the mouse pointer position (as it does currently) * The display does not jump when the text is pasted * The selected text that was copied is de-selected * The text cursor moves to a position just after the pasted text With these changes, it should be possible for the user to select text on one page of a document, scroll to another page, middle-click to paste the selected text, and continue typing without any additional steps. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a multi-page document in Writer 2.Select some text on the first page 3.Scroll down a few pages and middle-click to paste the selected text Actual Results: Writer jumps back to the the first page of the document. The selected text is still selected. Expected Results: Writer does not jump the display (it remains where it was when the user middle-clicked). The text cursor is positioned immediately after the pasted text. The previously-selected text is de-selected. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: This was found and tested on various Linux distros running various versions of LibreOffice (it's a pretty old bug). It presumably happens on all Writer versions running on X. The obvious workaround is to use the ctrl+C, ctrl+V clipboard and just accept the efficiency hit. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

About the paper size: The size I'm trying to print in is 'user defined' 21,59cm x 33,30cm, but I've tried changing it to other sizes and the problem usually remains. (Sometimes I successfully change to a different size, but it seems random; there isn't a certain size it'll accept.) While trying to troubleshoot this, I accidentally installed a US driver for the printer which set my default size to letter; while it was installed, the problem remained, except that the size it was stuck on was letter instead of A4. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122311] Find & Replace dialog could save search history on closing of the application
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122311 --- Comment #4 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #3) > For security reason I wouldn't store those information on the application > level but perhaps in the document. How does MS handles this? Recording search strings into an ODF archive seems no more "secure" than recording to user profile, probably less so since once a document is out of users control those prior searches would be exposed. As to what could be done to record search strings (and probably replacement strings as well, not results of course) for LibreOffice the user profile seems the correct location. Notepad++ records per user search strings into stanzas in a XML file--config.xml. We already do similar in LibreOffice's application registry to hold the picklist for our MRU per user profile. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Otherwise, as I agree with you, the proposal would not be very helpful. But there seems to be no realisation yet, at least I could not find one where I would think it should be placed, namely in parallel to menubar, toolbar etc. You may also note that the text is dated 2016 and has not been edited since. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122395] New: Irrecoverable loss of focus editing formula across worksheets with frozen rows/columns
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122395 Bug ID: 122395 Summary: Irrecoverable loss of focus editing formula across worksheets with frozen rows/columns Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.2.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: templ...@protonmail.com When editing a formula in the formula bar, LibreOffice Calc 6.1.2.1 release (Fedora 29, GNOME 3) irrecoverably loses focus if another worksheet is accessed for addition to the formula, if that worksheet has freeze rows/columns enabled. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63368] FORMATTING: Images attached to cell get mispositioned when spreadsheet is edited
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63368 --- Comment #13 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com --- Improved, but still a bit buggy in LibO 6.2.0 RC 1. Test case to have an issue needs to be slightly changed to still show the buggy behaviour Test case (again with attachment 80018) 1) Open attached document 2) Note that the cloud image is anchored to cell B2, and placed in such a way that the top of the cloud is about half-way in row 2. 3) Now, select row 1 and insert a row before row 1. This works: the cloud correctly moves down, since it remains still relative to its anchor point (now cell B3). Now the top of the cloud is about half-way in row 3. 4) Put your cursor in cell A2 at the end of the world "Foo", press CTRL-ENTER to insert a line break and type "Bar". This is broken in LibO < 6.2 and working (sort of) in LibO 6.2. In LibO 6.2 the cloud correctly moves down, since it remains (almost) still relative to its anchor point (now cell B3). Now the top of the cloud is about half-way in row 3. Actually, the behavior is still buggy, because there must be some miscalculation and the image moves /slightly/ up relative to its anchor point. 5) Put your cursor in cell A2 at the end of the world "Bar" and press CTRL-ENTER 10 times. This adds 10 empty lines to cell A2 and makes evident the miscalculation reported at the previous point 4). Now the top of the cloud is not anymore half-way in row 3. Note that this is not handled properly. The height of cell A2 is increased in order to accomodate the two lines of text. This means that cell B3, to which the cloud image is anchored moves down. However, the cloud image does not move down, so that its relative position with respect to the anchor point is changed. The top of the cloud should have remained about half-way in row 3, but now it is at the bottom of row 2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I try to explain, why this (in my opinion) is not ab bug. You have two lists ib your document: One list with heading 1 style and one list with heading 2 style. they all are at the same level (level 1). If you want to put them together: right click => bullets and numbering => continue previous numbering. If you want to change the level: right click => bullets and umbering => Demote one level. This is the way you get the 1.1 or 1.2 format. So I close this bug as NOTABUG. If you don't agree, fell free to change it back to UNCONFIRMED with a reasoning. And again: If you want to create chapter numbering, you should use tools => chapter numbering instead of lists.
