I'd suppose that's something to file against that "lloconv". Only if that turns
out to be not the converter wrapper's bug, should it be filed here, and with
steps not involving installation of third-party software.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123080] New: GTK3 VCL in 64-bit linux binary builds requires Wayland installation

2019-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123080

Bug ID: 123080
   Summary: GTK3 VCL in 64-bit linux binary builds requires
Wayland installation
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com

GTK3 VCL in 64-bit linux binary RPM builds requires Wayland installation, which
is unexpected. The requirement is created by linking the RPM builds against the
GTK3 shared libraries which were, in their turn, built requiring Wayland.

(using VCLs for X11, KDE4, QT5, GTK with the SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN var works, at
least LO reaches new Writer doc opened state)

If you do not have a Wayland installed, starting LO fails after showing the
splash screen:

$ ./soffice
/d/p/lo62/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/soffice.bin: symbol lookup error:
/d/p/lo62/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_gtk3lo.so: undefined symbol:
gdk_wayland_display_get_type

Doing `ldd -r libvclplug_gtk3lo.so` in /opt/libreoffice6.2/program produces
this:

<...resolved dependencies skipped...>
undefined symbol: gtk_scrolled_window_set_propagate_natural_width
(./libvclplug_gtk3lo.so)
undefined symbol: gdk_wayland_window_set_dbus_properties_libgtk_only

Confirm with Version: 6.0.7.3
Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.2
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

This is with PCManFM dragging into Impress. First picture is a link. Second one
is not. Using Edit...Links to External Files... only shows one file linked.

That would be great news if somehow current versions in alpha fix this problem.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122943] Opening a Style dialog's Highlighting/Area tabs adds properties to the property set in the style

2019-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122943

--- Comment #6 from Jim Raykowski  ---
Hi Mike,

Having fun with the styles code. I've implemented some ideas how not to have
the Area and Highlighting tabs add their None page attribs when no change has
been made. Nothing so far that is very satisfying. WIP

There seems to be some love needed not for just the Area and Highlighting tabs
use in the Paragraph Styles tab dialog. I noticed in order to add Left/Top
alignment one must first select an alignment other than Left/Top, click on the
Organizer tab, click back on the Alignment tab, and select Left/Top. Other tabs
pages must follow this procedure to add defaults. In the Indents & Spacing tab,
Line Spacing is not able to be added to a style. Checking Register-True Active
check box adds Register-true but unchecking does not clear it. Same with check
boxes in other tab pages.

Why isn't Default Style created from tab page defaults?

Please provide a sample file where this is seen; and make sure you have read
the tool description [1], namely where the default action (cloning only
character formatting) is discussed - so make sure that the "highlight" is a
character property, and not e.g. a paragraph background.

Please change back to UNCONFIRMED after providing the sample. Thanks!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123078] New: format cloning does not work

2019-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123078

Bug ID: 123078
   Summary: format cloning does not work
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: free...@gmail.com

I understand the procedure to clone text formatting to be:

1. Select text whose formatting is to be copied.

2. Click the format 'paintbrush' in the toolbar.

3. Click or select the text to which the format is to be applied.

This does not work.

After step 2 the cursor changes to a 'pouring paint can', but using this to
highlight or click on other text effects no change to the format of that text.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123076] New print dialog: Page Format is always A4

2019-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123076

--- Comment #1 from himajin100...@gmail.com ---
I believe that page style is not in what paper you print with.
Print preview opens first with the "default paper for the printer", and the
paper you use can be changed via Page Layout->Paper size on the right side of
the dialog.

On my windows 10 machine, I can change my default paper via:
control panel->Devices and Printers->(select my printer)->right
click->Printer's preference

Quiz:
I have Brother's printer DCP-J973N, and this printer can print only up to A4,
but I have a friend who has a printer capable of printing A3, and I want to
make a file for him. Which one should I change?

I can reproduce with:

Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: eaec995a96b41963ae9e5156b6c5c7ac022f9a55
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3_kde5;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

and a crash also happens for the kde5 VCL plugin:

Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: eaec995a96b41963ae9e5156b6c5c7ac022f9a55
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: kde5;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Since the initial reporter is another one (s. Debian bug), I'm therefore
self-confirming.

On the "faulty" .docx, Default paragraph style is set to "header 1". This
results of bad use of styles by a user (99.9 % sure).
Thanks for having tried to solve.
Maybe, I will attach one "faulty" .docx.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123073] New: mail merge: conditional text followed by empty field not printed

2019-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123073

Bug ID: 123073
   Summary: mail merge: conditional text followed by empty field
not printed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tmp...@gmail.com

Created attachment 148779
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=148779=edit
small test database (four records, four fields each record)

Conditional text that should be printed (included) based on a database field
followed by a database field that happens to by empty is not included. Problem
does not occur in 6.0 (which has a different problem that appears to have been
reported) but occurs in 6.1.4.2 and all versions thereafter (including 6.3.0.0
alpha). I do not know which version between 6.0 and 6.1.4.2 the problem arises
in — haven't checked. Attached are three documents: a very small database, a
label template, and the result of merging the db into the template. In short,
the output should look something like

C1 C2
field  B

C3  C4
field B

but what it produces (in the versions with the bug) is

C1 C2
   B

C3  C4
field B

"field" is conditional text base on whether a particular db field is empty or
not;
following ir is the field "B" which is "B" in some records and empty in others.

comments)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112961] EDITING: Editing selected text copies the format of the text to its left

2019-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112961

--- Comment #6 from Phil Krylov  ---
As of version 6.1.4.2, the observed behaviour is slightly more complicated than
described above:

When replacing selected text which has direct formatting or a character style,
if the adjacent text to the left of the selection has no direct formatting or a
character style, the new text keeps the direct formatting or the character
style of the replaced text (as it should).

When replacing selected text which has no direct formatting and no character
style, if the adjacent text to the left of the selection has direct formatting
or a character style, the new text is given the formatting of the text at the
left (this is a bug).

Shows the right behavior of moving a field in query designer

Have made screenshots for Base-Handbook.
Opened the query designer, put some fields in it and tried to move the fields.
I have to install Version LO 4.2.8.* to show the right screenshot with an
arrow, which shows where the field will be positioned to. All LO 5.*-version
(and newer) will fail here.

If I press on a field and try to move it by the mouse only the field will be
marked, the moving isn't shown but the field will be moved to a new position.

All tested with OpenSUSE 15, 64bit rpm Linux

Have described it in the report. I don't need this dialogues for creating
anything with Base. I only make screenshots for Base-Handbook to show, what
could be done with Base.

The word wrap-problem is the more important problem. So I can't make
screenshots of this dialogues in any version since 5.3.*. I prefer not to show
the bugs of LO in a Handbook.

Oops, the title was left ambiguous, the original issue was raised for online,
and online plays slideshows by exporting the presentations to SVG format. This
SVG export is what doesn't keep the background, not the actual slideshow (in

This must be a Mac thing. I'm running MacOs Mojave 10.14.2. I installed
LibreOffice 6.1.4, and it does the same thing. This is a file that has tracked
changes from editing with comments. After I finish editing a document, I copy
it to a master file and make accept all tracked changes, then delete all the
comments. I can delete the comments one at a time with no problem, but when I
attempt to delete all comments at once, or all comments made by just me, LO
crashes.

Backtrace

Only occurs with debug builds.

- Start Writer / Impress.
- Open File -> Templates -> Manage Templates.
- Choose a template, and click Export.
- Choose a directory, and click OK.

=> Crash with the following assertion.

Note that it only crashes if no file with such name exists in the directory, so
on subsequent attempts delete the previous one.

Cmd+Enter is used for manual page break. And I'd be careful with those easy to
enable keys as users might press it accidentally not knowing how to get back.

I would suggest to take advantage of the CMD key rather, as it is quite
common on macOS. So it could be CMD/Enter to toggle.

   /** (non-Javadoc)
* @see
java.awt.event.ActionListener#actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent)
* @param a action event.
*/
   @Override
   public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent a)
   {
  Object o = a.getSource();
  int m = a.getModifiers();
  boolean metaPressed = (m & ActionEvent.META_MASK) != 0; // Defined in
ActionEvent.java

...

  if(o == ENTER_KEY)
  {
 if(metaPressed)
 {
toggleOverstrike();  // Or such

Btw.: I think that showing the overstrike status has priority,
as we can use the mouse already.

--- Comment #4 from Heiko Tietze  ---
Apple has no Insert key and apparently no overtype mode. Microsoft provides an
option in a configuration dialog to toggle insert/override.

We could implement a key additional to KEY_INSERT at editeng.cxx #1259.
Checking the world wide wisdom I'd say FN+Enter is the most often cited variant
(FN+backspace is the common delete, so it's somewhat natural). However, this
key would be hard-coded and wont be customizable. And to raise the difficulty
we do not have a function key defined yet (think it's possible when we restrict
it to macOS).

(Adding UX although it's a qualified easyhack to gather input. If a volunteer
wants to take this we can just go ahead.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112458] Base table does not retain record updates from Standalone form

2019-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112458

--- Comment #19 from Tony  ---
With version 6.1.2.1 on MacOS Mojave (10.14) this bug now also shows using
standalone ODT form and an ODB database. In all previous version it was not
there and the combination worked well.
Unfortunately I cannot tell whether the OSX update or the LibreOfice update
caused the change in behavior.
