[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60242] TABLE: Split cell default choice

2019-02-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60242

--- Comment #8 from Martin van Zijl ---
I've modified the patch so that it remembers the previous choice (as per
comment #6 above).

i.e. If you choose "vertical" in the split cell dialog and click OK, the next
time you use the dialog, "vertical" will be selected by default. (Same goes for
"horizontal".)

I removed the new check-box from the Options dialog.

I hope that is self-explanatory. I will try to upload a new demo and submit the
updated patch for review later today.

(In reply to Eyal Rozenberg from comment #2)
> 1. Your sample doesn't have dashes, it has minus signs. While those are

1. Yes you right it is like minus (HYPHEN-MINUS, decimal code 45). In english
keyboard it is only one symbol with short horizontal line (except LOW LINE,
decimal code 95 ). In Arabic keyboard i see symbol ـ (it is ARABIC TATWEEL),
but it is have same problem. Temporary solution is use Ctrl + "-" (but it have
visual problem, i will do new bug report)

> 2. Suppose we treat the minus sign as a dash. Why would the dash not appear
> _after_ the number, i.e. to the right of the number? It's reasonable to
> assume that the dash will be followed by more text, in which case the

Yes, minus sign is show after the number i.e. to the left side of the number
and if we continue type text it is show correct. But i not sure it is good for
mathematics formulas inside arabic text (like Alice in mirrorland).

2. BUT if you type only numbers in empty paragraph or before (from begin)
arabic text like "arabic_text 1-2-3-4-5" it is work good for RTL, but adding
any arabic letter in begin of string will do mirror number to "... 5-4-3-2-1
..."

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123534] New: Impress UI: Expand/Collapse custom animations changes selection state

2019-02-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123534

Bug ID: 123534
Summary: Impress UI: Expand/Collapse custom animations changes
selection state
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andthebr...@softfrog.ca

Description:
In an Impress presentation with custom animations of a bulletet list:
1. Expanding a selected animation does not select its children as well.
2. Collapsing an expanded animation deselects all but the last selected
animation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create presentation with animated bulleted list with multiple levels of
indentation, and one or more additional objects with a custom-animation.
2. Ensure the list collapsed.
3. Select the collapsed parent animation for the list, and an additional
animated object.
4. Expand the list.
5. Collapse the list.

Actual Results:
After 4 (expand): only parent element of the list and the additionally animated
object are selected (not the child animations)

After 5 (collapse): only the most recently selected animation is selected: all
others are deselected.

Expected Results:
After 4 (expand): expect to have all child elements of the animation also
selected.

After 5 (collapse): expect to have no change in the selection state (other than
not showing any selection for now-hidden child animations for the list).

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The expected behaviour on expand would be in keeping with the notion that
selecting a collapsed head of a list also selects its children. This notion is
seen elsewhere with animations when you select a collapsed head of a list and:
- change animation order via drag-and-drop,
- change animation order via the up/down buttons, or
- change the start behaviour (like "on click" or "with previous")

Well, to be precise, it's not working as well as version 6.1.5

In version 6.2.1.1, the cursor is not at the exact same spot.

So, for now, untill version 6.2.1 gets out, I'll mark it again as "Confirmed".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123533] New: CALC FORMATTING, AVERAGE FUNCTION

2019-02-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123533

Bug ID: 123533
   Summary: CALC FORMATTING, AVERAGE FUNCTION
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: laf2005lau...@yahoo.com

Description:
Using AVERAGE across a row of 12 cells returns a different amount than using
SUM and dividing by 12.
ie) =AVERAGE(B164,M164) = 645,200.0
=SUM(B164:M164) /12 = 645,116.7

The document was originally an Excel file (from a state data store). Opened in
LibreCalc Version: 5.2.7.2
Build ID: 1:5.2.7-1+deb9u5
_Debian GNU Linux 9.7

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Used:=AVERAGE(B40,M40)
2. Noticed unequal answer to another cell with Sum (B40:M40) /12

Actual Results:
1. 52,200 (USING AVERAGE FUNCTION)
2. 52,467 (SUM same cells and dividing by 12--n of cells)

Expected Results:
= 52,466.67
data for your reference in one case- many other rows different numbers affected
the same in that average did not correctly work but sum and divide did.

53800+53700+53600+53500+53300+52900+52500+52000+51600+51200+50900+50600=629,600
629,600/12 = 52,466.67

AVERAGE SHOULD EQUAL SUM of cells divided by the nth number of cells added.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The document was a State supplied excel sheet. There were no functions in the
sheet, just numbers. Began using a formula to verify discrepancy all the way
thru the 40 year sheet, just outside of the table area that went to 258 N so
was putting formula in rows 1-258, column O, P and Q referencing the numbers in
the table.

In the same sheet, copying the data to well below 258, the AVERAGE function
worked as did the sum /12 and after adding a new sheet, was able to paste the
numbers there and add the same average function but with correct answers.

It seems there is a compatibility issue with the data in the excel file.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

That would be a workaround as it is not the default behavior when you hit the ∑
button and select the range that includes the affected cell.

This isn't on a form. It's on a sheet with the checkbox control on it. See the
example I attached.

If all values in the range to sum are numbers or text numbers not other kind of
strings, then =SUMPRODUCT(A1:A2*1) can work, because it forces the conversion.
And direct references to one cell with text numbers should work also.

Another issue sure is that change the behavior can break existing forms.

Forms don't take care of what the receiver does with the values, in this case a
spreadsheet.

If you want reopen as request for enhancement on the second box of Importance
field, adapting the title.

I gave prepared files with detailed explanation and this is the situation. This
is not a comfortable bug but please see these files and you see the behaviour.
Without seeing the files and knowing how to link the data, you will not
understand the bug. When opening these files, you can see what data is manually
entered and what is generated by formulas. Please see also named cells I am
using.
Under preparing I mean by entering appropriate formulas. You can just copy the
formulas in order to repeat the bug. These formulas just replace inappropriate
symbols with appropriate one in e-mail addresses.
Please check my article with Google Translate -
https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=et=en=https%3A%2F%2Flibreoffice.ee%2Fautomaatne-varskendamine-calcis%2F
- there is longer explanation with exact steps.
When repeating the issue, just copy my prepared data about characters and
formulas as plain text to not copy possible buggy formatting. Repeat the
autorefresh part only.

It definitely is not a general problem.
So if anyone has this again, it must be due to very very specific

What about when you just have a slash after a few digits with no other digits
afterwards? i.e. the line is set to RTL, and let's say I even entered some
strongly-RTL characters; then a space; then some digits; and now I type a
slash. What does the UBA say about where that slash is supposed to appear?

1. Your sample doesn't have dashes, it has minus signs. While those are often
used instead of dashes, they're not the same thing.
2. Suppose we treat the minus sign as a dash. Why would the dash not appear
_after_ the number, i.e. to the right of the number? It's reasonable to assume
that the dash will be followed by more text, in which case the placement is
valid.

What _could_ be a bug is:

1. If we treat the minus as a minus sign, which is obviously a possibility -
then it should be one number minus another number, so the minus should be
placed to the right of the digits.

2. If we treat the minus as a dash, the fact that it's directly adjacent to a
number suggests it is more likely to be continued by another number rather than
by an RTL character.

But what we really need to do is look at the Unicode bidirectional algorithm
(UAX 9) and see what is says on this matter. It's located here:

http://www.unicode.org/reports/tr9/

it's not an easy read, though.

I got this result with win32-5.3:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/plugins/gitiles/core/+/8f2dd1df1d6cc94ebbc1149de72bc6d6dffa6533%5E!/
Revert "Revert "Enable the new text layout engine by default""

It sounds plausible. As always, it is a bit hazy with these ones as sometimes
there are multiple different times to open in the repo commits. I encourage
others to bibisect as well. With perf issues, you should avoid doing any
background processing while the measured task is going on.

I confess, I initially compared "Show Comments" from view with selecting
D5:AR254 in 4.4.7.2. However, got same results when repeating it by selecting
D5:AR254

In this case I compared Version: 5.3.1.0.0+ with 6.3..

I can't explain your results..

Less an issue with the order in GUI, and more to do with a symbol font like
Marlett. Symbol fonts receive the SYMBOL_CHARSET mapping of their PUA onto the
lower 254 characters of ASCII

A symbol font like Marlett will rarely if ever have its PUA mapped onto the
Unicode system codepoint names, meaning the Search function in our Special
Symbol dialog will find nothing.

But, there is a LibreOffice issue in populating the character map. When the
font does not have coverage of UCS name string (i.e. no matching glyphs in the
font) the chart should show nothing. Instead it is receiving some weird hybrid
chart.

For example...search for "combi" for alll COMBINING form UCS, and select U+338
for "COMBINING LONG SOLIDUS OVERLAY".

Change from from default Liberation Serif to Liberation Sans Narrow (that has
no coverage of U+338). We get the correct glyph preview with a "Missing
character" label. But we also get an incorrect chart of glyphs--there are no
combining characters in Liberation Sans Narrow, so the chart *should* be empty.

And in another glitch, again selecting Liberation Serif font from the drop
list, will show the correct glyph from the font--but the font chart is *empty*.
As if the chart is not being recalculated on font change.

These steps contain too many sub-steps to be quick & easy to repro. For

linked data is added in step 3. Please give more detailed steps with minimal
formulas. Everything with file names we will save to etc. Not like the massive

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123363] Image randomly lost permanently

(In reply to Buovjaga from comment #4)
> Tried several times, but no problem.

Sadly, that's part of the problem... I also have hard time reproducing it.. but
seen all the bug floating around with 'missing images, again' so everybody
has hard time proving the problem..

Anyway.. there a some criteria to improve the reproducibility
- x32 build -> it behaves like out of memory bug (except the regular crashing
part).
- Debug build -> I reproduced it the first time with a debug build.

So or something OOM related or timing problem cleanup of memory before
'securing' the image...

Will try a new debug build...

This file is using Abkai Xanyan fonts to render the text, you can get the fonts
from here before you reproduce with sample ODT:
http://abkai.net/core/en/manchu/manchu-fonts/

So it seems to me that LibreOffice have something missing, or some specific
Unicode properties doesn’t properly handled after new text layout backend is
introduced in 5.3.
