[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124191] Text copied from a PDF exported using Linux Libertine G is missing characters.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191 --- Comment #19 from Frank Zimmerman --- So I got home and checked my laptop there. It did not have any old fonts, but the Libertine were the 5.1.x series, and Biolinum were 1.1.0. These still caused the problems. I tried updating to LibreOffice 6.2.1 first (I was at 6.2.0.3), but that did not help. But once I uninstalled those fonts, and installed the latest (5.3.0 for Libertine, and 1.1.8 for Biolinum) all was well there also. I also noticed that the latest Linux Libertine and Biolinum are named without the "G" character, so: "Linux Libertine" instead of "Linux Libertine G". Maybe it would be a good idea to force-install these latest versions when LibreOffice is installed, seeing as they work perfectly? (and apparently have "ttfautohint" applied, which I'm not sure the older ones have). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191 --- Comment #18 from Frank Zimmerman --- Should I mark this as Resolved? Is there some way LibreOffice could prefer the newer fonts over any older ones that were installed? Or is this handled by Windows? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124191] Text copied from a PDF exported using Linux Libertine G is missing characters.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191 --- Comment #17 from Frank Zimmerman --- Okay folks. The problem has been found! I tried many things (clean install, removing Foxit Phantom, new user, etc). None of these worked. Then I thought of checking the Fonts folder. I had a selection of Linux Libertine fonts installed. 1. The full set of (almost new) fonts. These were 5.x series, but not the very latest download (the latest is 5.3.0). 2. Three older 4.x series Libertine fonts. I removed the whole lot, and installed the very latest, and IT WORKS! I'm not sure now how I picked up those three older ones, as I was usually pretty careful setting up my system. Somehow, when working with the fonts in LibreOffice, I was able to see the full set (without duplicates), but the older fonts were getting preferred over the newer ones, and also getting embedded into the PDF. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123626] FILEOPEN | DOCX, Hyperlink missing from Shape in LO
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123626 --- Comment #6 from haevalen...@gmail.com --- I was able to replicate this problem. Inserting a hyperlink is a common feature in alternative software to LibreOffice (curiously it is supported in Impress but not in Writer or Calc). I did the test by creating a document with MS Office 2016, WPS Office and FreeOffice. In all cases when opening the document with LibreOffice Writer the shape used doesn't show any hyperlink (in case of making changes to the document and saving it with LibreOffice, the hyperlink is not preserved). >From my point of view, I would separate this problem into 3 issues. a- add the ability to insert hyperlinks in shapes (maybe in other types of objects) in LibreOffice Writer (and Calc) b- see hyperlinks created by third-party apps in OOXML format c- preserve hyperlinks created by third-party apps in OOXML format and modified with LibreOffice Points b and c may be so related that it corresponds to a single issue (I don't know the technical details) Related: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124232 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124191] Text copied from a PDF exported using Linux Libertine G is missing characters.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191 --- Comment #14 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to Frank Zimmerman from comment #9) > I've attached three sample outputs using PDF and XPS printer drivers. These > all have the same problems, when I try to copy text from them and paste into > a text editor. This shows that it's not strictly related to the PDF output > routines in the LibreOffice PDF export. No, that is correct. If you are able to set the text editor to use Linux Libertine G you probably would not see corruption. Not certain, but I think the issue was with your LibreOffice's generation of the /ToUnicode mappings. Below are the /ToUnicode charts for the MS PDF and Phantom PDF for the test string "The fire flying coffee left Quickly" With Linux Libertine G is encoded in both PDF generators as 'e re ying coee le ickly.' glyph positioning omitted of course. When that text is copied to a text editor--the text editor must able to be set to use the same Linux Libertine G font. If not the PUA glyphs (E039, E048, E049) can not be rendered, the same for needing to support the Unicode Alphabetic Presentation Forms (here just FB00-ff, FB01-fi, FB02-fl). Both PDF generators look to have correctly generated /ToUnicode charts, the PUA are mapped and with a text editor using Linux Libertine G (I prefer BablePad for this)--the strings are fully rendered. Notice the sequence of glyphs added to the /ToUnicode chart depends on the PDF generator. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103562 --- Comment #6 from haevalen...@gmail.com --- I am going to update this report, since the problem continues to manifest itself with some changes. Using the test documents I obtained the following results using LibreOffice version 6.2.0.3 Flatpak on fedora 29 (use a ODT and DOCX test files) a.Insert hyperlink method b.Insert Interaction method - | | text | shape | gallery | image | - | pdfa | ✓* | x |x| x | |---| | pdfb | x | x |x| x | * ODT : Hyperlinks appear available but when selected indicates "no such file or directory" DOCX: Hyperlink opens the filemanager Creating a new document following the instructions I obtained the following results: a.Insert hyperlink method b.Insert Interaction method -- | ODT | text | image | gallery | formula | shape | table | fontwork | -- | pdfa | ✓ | x |x|x| x | x |x | |- | pdfb | ✓ | ✓ |✓|✓| ✓ | ✓ |✓ | -- I didn't perform the tests with the DOCX format, since I realized that the problem is in the export filter (ODT to DOCX) where all the hyperlinks and interactions disappear, so exporting the document in DOCX format to PDF doesn't make any sense (I think it is necessary to open another report for that issue) In conclusion, there was an improvement from the initial report, but the hyperlinks are not yet exported correctly and I believe from my experience, that this method is more used than adding an interaction to the object in a presentation. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191 --- Comment #13 from Frank Zimmerman --- Thanks for all the testing and comments from everyone! I was able to get to another laptop in the office, identical to mine (also Dell Precision M4800). I installed LibreOffice 6.2.1 (it had never been installed on this laptop) and ran some tests. Both the original text line posted in the first comment at the top of this report, and one of my books from the website were loaded and exported to PDF. And...they worked. No problems with copy/paste into a text editor. Since I'm seeing the problem on both my own laptops, I'm wondering at this point if there is some software that I have installed that is interfering? ...or some setting? My next tests will be: 1. Upgrade to the very latest (6.2.1) LibreOffice and try again. 2. Remove Foxit Phantom to see if this makes any difference. 3. Uninstall LibreOffice entirely, wiping out all user data, and reinstall again. I'm wondering at this point if some setting might have been migrated from an older install (and carried over from version to version) that could be messing with the export. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79717 --- Comment #9 from Phil Krylov --- (In reply to Buovjaga from comment #8) > Phil: I verify the fix. Should this be set to resolved? The issue actually seems to be somewhat bigger. First, it also applies not only to direct formatting, but also to character styles. For this I've posted a simple extension of the accepted patch, which is now on review queue at https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/69323 . Then, these patches do fix the problem with direct user input, but do not seem to fix the same problem appearing when replacing text via UNO API (with portion/cursor setString method) or from a spelling suggestion context menu. I am going to further investigate this problem when time permits; probably separate issue numbers should be used (I have now found bug 51423, bug 99786, bug 104137 which probably should be marked duplicates of 51423; but found no filed issue for the UNO API behavior) although they are all clearly related. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123793] Can't step with keyboard to/between favorite special characters on group button
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123793 --- Comment #4 from Peter Vágner --- The description mentions visual appearance when using the feature. When considering visual aspect it appears to be a minor issue. However when also considering access with a screen reader it turns to be more serious, at least according to my initial testing. Consider following steps: * create a new empty document in writer. * Press F6 key several times until the focus moves to the standard toolbar. * On the standard toolbar use right key to navigate until you find a button called Symbol. * When activating this button by pressing spacebar the group expands and the More characters button receives the focus. Using tab key or arrow keys to navigate causes orca to report nothing. * When activating the Symbols toolbar button by pressing the enter key, the group expands and More characters button is also activated showing the Special characters dialog the same way activating Insert -> Special characters... from the menu bar does. I can't say if this is a feature or a bug. The fact screen reader users are getting no feetback when using standard navigation keyboard shortcuts while the More characters button is focused is definatelly a bug and I'd prefer to have that fixed even if it reintroduces bug 113352 since that feature is also accessible via the menu bar. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124230] New: FILESAVE PPTX: Custom Animations Sound Lost on Roundtrip
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124230 Bug ID: 124230 Summary: FILESAVE PPTX: Custom Animations Sound Lost on Roundtrip Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lukebe...@hotmail.com This is a spin off of Bug 123909. With that fixed, the PPTX custom animations sounds now play on time. However if you resave as PPTX, the sound is lost. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open attachment 145684 [details] 2. Save as PPTX 3. Close and re-open Expected Results: 1. Both the animation sound,"wind.wav" and the transition sound, Applause are played. Actual results: 1. Only the applause transition is played Note 1: This may be an import issue. If you instead open the PPT attachment 145685 and save as PPTX, the sound will play. Note 2: The imported sound,"wind.wav" will not preview under Format->Animation->Effect Options->Preview -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124191] Text copied from a PDF exported using Linux Libertine G is missing characters.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191 --- Comment #10 from V Stuart Foote --- Poking at this I extracted page 10 of the Last-days-events PDF with Acrobat Pro DC v.2019.008.20080, and uncompressed its streams with qpdf v.8.4.0 While the page is extracted using Acrobat--I think it is correct to say its original structure was LibreOffice generated with rdf--xmp CreatorTool Writer, and Producer LibreOffice 6.0. The Linux Libertine G regular, along with other fonts, get recorded as a /BaseFont struct [1], while its /ToUnicode map is also created [2]. What is odd is that the character <01> is mapped to unicode glyphs "005400680065" or "The"; there is no <02> in the map, and the U+0065 "e" is never defined as a single glyph. Character <26> is "ffe" --suffering--, <36> is "tte", and <52> is "Que" Attaching the uncompressed Stream, where the BT & ET bracketed strings with /F6 font are the Linux Libertine G. The /F2 stanza is the opening "Cover Picture" in Linux Biolinum G. While there is a character <02> used in the passages--it does not appear in the /ToUnicode lookup talbe. Since LibreOffice should have written out the /ToUnicode struct for subsetted fonts, believe issue could be there. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124168] Crash when inserting table of content
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124168 --- Comment #5 from Tor Lillqvist --- ... and when I reproduce exactly, I get a crash then, too, and the top slots in the stack are the same ones, related to BASIC. (Actually I don't remember exactly how much of BASIC functionality we do compile and include in the iOS app. Clearly we do get something as those Sbx* things show up in the stack trace; they are from the basic/source/sbx directory. (The reason we in general have avoided building BASIC, Python, and other potential macro/scripting functionality for iOS is because iOS apps for the App Store are not allowed to be "programmable" according to Apple's rules. At least something like that used to be mentioned, but now when I look at https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/ , I don't actually see it?) [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124191] Text copied from a PDF exported using Linux Libertine G is missing characters.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191 --- Comment #5 from Frank Zimmerman --- (In reply to Khaled Hosny (inactive) from comment #4) I have two laptops currently, both Dell Precision, so high-end business class. Both show the problem, using the latest (6.2.0.3) LibreOffice, x64, on the latest W10 x64. I have tried Foxit and Acrobat. Both show the copy/paste problem. The fact that you can reproduce it with a PDF I generated means that it's not a problem with the PDF reader, but rather something happening in the writing process. I have Foxit Phantom (PDF Editor) also installed, but I can't see how this would affect LibreOffice's PDF writing routines. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124227] New: Calc chart - incomplete copy paste
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124227 Bug ID: 124227 Summary: Calc chart - incomplete copy paste Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: recordca...@yahoo.com This problem occurs with: Version: 6.1.5.2 (x64) Build ID: 90f8dcf33c87b3705e78202e3df5142b201bd805 CPU threads: 8 OS: Windows 10.0 UI render: GL Locale: en-US (en_US) Calc: CL I have a model worksheet with 5 columns and 20 rows as shown in the following screenshot. The columns contain classic microeconomics average fixed cost, average variable cost, average total cost, and marginal cost data. https://i.stack.imgur.com/alRXQ.png >From this data I am producing the following four charts including legends: that is I have created four additional tabs in the worksheet containing the full spreadsheet shown above; in each tab I am creating one of the below charts. In each chart the first column is used for the Y axis label. a chart showing the single AFC curve a chart showing the curves for AFC and AVC a chart showing the curves for AFC, AVC and ATC a chart showing the curves for AFC, AVC, ATC, MC Each chart in each tab is properly formed - looks good - no complaints. However, before I get to my problem I did discover a charting improvement opportunity. If one selects "smoothing" and "b-spline" and then the degree of the smoothing function to apply, the smoothing is applied to every column of data in that chart. It would be better (is necessary) under some circumstances where curves of different degrees exist to be able to apply smoothing to columns rather than just a whole data set. It seems to me, since the architecture and logic already exists in Calc, that it should be easy to allow individually applying smoothing to each column of data, rather than just applying the same smoothing to everything in a single chart. Back to my problem, I want to copy each of the charts (AFC, AVC, ATC, MC) from each tab for use in presentation material. For instance, if I copy and paste the ATC chart I get the following proper image: https://i.stack.imgur.com/1NuwK.png However, (yeah, it took me a long time to get here), there is a very strange problem when I cut and paste the MC chart. To be clear, the chart in the worksheet tab is proper. It shows the four lines and four legend entries. However, when I copy then paste the MC chart, I get only the AFC, AVC, and ATC lines, but I do get all four items in the legend! Don't believe me - look at this image: https://i.stack.imgur.com/p5dVc.png I have tried deleting and recreating the worksheets, and charts, and rebooting the computer in various ways, but the problem always recurs. Yes, this seems not just unlikely, but impossible, and yet here it is. So please someone, can you duplicate my problem? Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? I did finally manage a work around by separately, using the W10P sniping tool to separately copy the chart and legend and paste them into my presentation. However, I intend to replace the data in this model with real data, make additional charts and include the charts in future, real world decision-making and widely seen presentations. It would be much easier, and good LibreOffice publicity, if LibreOffice Calc, cut, and paste worked as expected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
