** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

It turns out this is a duplicate of 124639. Some printer drivers (Brother
notably) silently change the paper size when you select "borderless". The
paper size doesn't appear to change on the dialog, but internally it is the
paper size the borderless checkbox is changing. When "Use only paper size from
printer preferences", as indicated in the comments of 124639, is set this issue
resolves and the borderless checkbox setting is preserved and passed to the
printer.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124668] New: Cannot open Libre Office

2019-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124668

Bug ID: 124668
   Summary: Cannot open Libre Office
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mrlt...@gmail.com

Description:
I have just completely re-installed my PCLinuxOS system with the latest version
(03/19) and fully updated it. I now find that with the addition of Libre Office
6.2.2, I cannot open any part of this office program I have always used, and as
a relative novice in linux I do not know why. All I know is that it used to
work fine, even with this version of PCLinuxOS which was first installed 5 days
after its release. If I try to open office, I get the start up screen very
briefly, then it disappears, but the panel on the task bar circles for a bit
longer then disappears. It doesn't matter which part of office I am trying to
get into either - ALL parts react the same.

Actual Results:
try to open Libre Office and all it does is close down

Expected Results:
nothing

Reproducible: Always

If you check other office suites like MSO or SoftMaker they have the active tab
without color and the not activated tab's are colored. I also suggest to have
it as it is now, but the not activated tabs get also the background color.

super yuck. This is caused by the footnote creating fake page styles
(Converted2 and Converted3) and those fake page styles use default margin
values, resulting in a negative margin when there should be a section margin of
0. I'll bet footnotes mess up lots of page style stuff.

In this case (as far as I understood from the example) it is the other way
around and works as intended. A hard/direct format applied overrides / has
precedence over a conditional format of the same type (number,font,bold,...)
(which in turn overrides a format applied from a style). Not a bug.

Hi, I can set any zoom percentage value by clicking the percentage icon
(opening Zoom & View Layout), but while using the bar to change the value, it
jumps between 100% and 152%, because of strong cursor snap on 100%.
Entering in-between percentages manually works fine.
This bug is actually an enhancement request.. perhaps the bar can be on a
logarithmic scale? The first snap after 100% could be perhaps 110% instead of
152%?

I DLed the latest version and the 'issue' is present still.

I hope that helps.

The UNO command to add as a keyboard shortcut via Tools -> Customize is listed
as Function "Symbol", there are two listed as well as Symbol shapes. You'll
want the first.

The Special Character dialog launched has the character map and the rows of
Rectent and Favorite charcters to pick from.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124660] New: CPU at 100 % with gtk3 back-end after a few idle minutes with at least 2 documents open

2019-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124660

Bug ID: 124660
   Summary: CPU at 100 % with gtk3 back-end after a few idle
minutes with at least 2 documents open
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tomaspa...@centrum.cz

Description:
When I open at least to Writer documents in Writer and leave LO idle for a few
minutes (10 minutes is definitely enough), the cpu usage goes up to 100% on one
cpu thread.

It doesn't matter if the documents are .odt, .docx, .doc or if they're unsaved
empty new documents. There only need to be at least two of them and you mustn't
touch them at all for some time.

The spell is broken after making a small edit to one of the two documents and
scrolling up or down a little.

I discovered that I could make the bug go away by switching to the gtk2 or the
gen (X11) back-end, so I assume its gtk3 specific. I switched to gtk2 by adding
the line "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN DEFAULT=gtk" without the quotes to
.pam_environment.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open at least two writer documents of any kind
2. Let them sit idle for 10 minutes.

Actual Results:
The fan starts blowing at full speed and one virtual core maxes out at 100%.

Expected Results:
All CPU cores at idle levels, the fan is quiet.

Reproducible: Always

Because a document can have a property to be reloaded every x seconds (at least
via ODF meta:auto-reload and API
css::document::XDocumentProperties::setAutoloadSecs() and setAutoloadURL() and
HTML import with "refresh" attribute), which then is indicated by the checkbox.
Not a bug.

Got it, reason is the expander that is hidden instead of being disabled. Does
not happen in Writer. Should be fixed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121967] Can't select/pick multiples shapes or images in Writer/Calc/Impress/Draw with CTRL key

Considering that all other Office suites have it, it is universal in office
suites.
If you want to discuss about something being universal then shift click isn't
either for this exact function. Just try to press Shift and click multiple
non-contiguous files in a file explorer and you'll see the difference.

For any user that uses an Office suite that tries LibreOffice, the immediate
reaction will be that this is something broken with LibreOffice (and they're
not wrong to think that). And no, this is NOT something only for Windows users.
WPS Office, Only Office exist in Linux. Google Docs is a web based suite.
WordPerfect precedes Windows.

However, I do agree that it's not the best to simply replace Shift-click by
Ctrl-click. Other Office suites also offer the possibility of using
Shift-click, thus:
Shift-click or Ctrl-click interchangeably is the way to go.

I suspect the control to be configured in svx/source/xoutdev/xattr.cxx where
the components are created depending on the selection. Touching this means to
change everything so I'm against a modification here. In particular since the
reason to change is a configuration of a UI- and that can be much easier
adjusted (not when stacked as today). I keep the ticket open in case of
different opinions.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34002] EDITING - Add Reveal Codes feature like there is in WordPerfect.

2019-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34002

I would just like to put a comment/clarification here, although I suspect there
will be others who understand the technical factors far better than me.

My understanding of the WordPerfect file format, and/or the way the application
handled managing a document being edited, is that the file is a "streaming
data" format (if that is the correct term). A code/format gets activated, and
is in effect until it is deactivated. Formatting codes could be nested as
well. The idea of the "reveal codes" function was/is to show those embedded
formatting codes within the stream.

Seems to me the WP formatting concept is basically like a "markup language",
and from what I remember of using WP, they looked very much like HTML and XML.
And since the OpenDocument format is also a streaming data format, it would
seem to logically lend itself to a reveal codes editor.

This is, of course, presuming that WP was in fact using a stream of data for
their document format, and not using some long-since-lost hack to make it look
that way.

As Reload and VersionDialog will be also not used regular, it would be good to
hide the functionality and show it only for the users how activate it.

will clean the menubar.
