[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117160] Solid color background on Impress and Draw leaves top and left 1px white/blank when exporting to PNG

2019-05-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117160

It's not a white line. It's a line of nothing. I pulled up some PNG exports in
paint.net and noticed hashed squares. That's the alpha channel only that's
rendering. If you select the alpha channel not to render, to get a gray line.
Either way -- alpha only or gray line -- to the naked eye it looks like a white
line.

It's almost as if one programmer long ago decided the origin of a picture to
start rendering an export was (0,0) and then someone else came along later and
assumed pictures start rendering at point (1,1).

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Hi Buovjaga,
>From attachment 151156 it looks like you have used the 'Demote Level' tool box
item to accomplish what is shown. I believe this is correct behavior for level
demotion because this shows that the level demoted selected headings are now
sub headings under the expanded heading. The patch for the bug in the initial
comment is for incorrect *Chapter* promote/demote behavior. For me 'Promote
Chapter' and 'Demote Chapter' buttons are shown on the first row last two items
of the Navigator tool box as Up and Down arrow buttons.

Using Touch screen scroll requires touch finger focus onto a scroll bar
(vertical or horizontal) to scroll, that avoids any text selection from the
document canvas.

Seems usable as is with no need to change.

A Multi-touch two-finger touch pad swipe, or shift-click on scroll bars work
with no issues.

Ability to input/parse alternate glyphs (regardless of input method) while

I would like to be able to distribute drawn objects between two snap lines. For
example, assume horizontal snap lines at 1" and 5" vertical. Add three small
objects (e.g., < 1/2") between them. The enhancement would allow distributing
those objects such that there is one at 2", one at 3" and one at 4" vertical.

[Currently, to achieve this effect one must have an object on each snap line,
then select all five objects for distribution. Once distributed the objects on
each snap line need to be deleted.]

You can type the real minus easily with advanced keyboard layouts like Neo2
(neo-layout.org). Otherwise, you can include it by the usage of pasting from
symbol tables, like the one inbuilt one or e.g. gnome-characters. Both of which
are frequently used by me and surely a lot of other people for pasting other
glyphs like ⇒, ≤, ≄, ≉, ⊆, ؉, • and greek letters, to name a few examples.

The Hyphen-minus is not really a minus, because it’s just a hyphen, as the
length is too short for being a minus, by definition. In reality, it’s just a
dirty hack, that hyphens get used as minuses, because most keyboard layouts
don’t have a real minus easily reachable (without ALT/ALT_GR, etc.).

Exactly the same issue is the dash, being double the length of the hyphen (and
most keyboards also not providing the dash conveniently). Word for example
fixes this by auto-replacing hyphens with dashes, when heuristics detect that a
hyphen should in reality be a dash (I don’t know if Writer does the same, as I
deactivated some auto-replacement settings). It would only be consequent to do
the same with minuses, as hyphen-minuses are even more ugly than hyphen-dashes,
because they are regularly used in conjunction with pluses, which makes the
discrepancy immediately visible.

OK, that works - have just tried it and it saves OK.

But this is non-obvious; a 3-step process is needed:

1. highlight phrase on Left page; use Paragraph / Text flow / Insert Break page
number 1
2. adjust page number field on Left page to offset by -1
3. adjust page number field on Right page to offset by -1 (these are
independent)

And this is why LO is sometimes difficult to use.

We are now not fixing a UI situation, as there is a workaround (even if not
obvious) rather than fixing the thing so it works in an
obvious manner.

Rinse and repeat over years; such cruft builds ===> user is confused as they
are supposed to know dozens of non-obvious workarounds as the thing in front of
them does not do what it says on the tin.

And the use-case:

Writing a thesis. This has many sections all with different layout; the main
body (with Left-Right pages) comes after front page / contents / glossary etc
etc. i.e. several other format sections before the Left Right pairs start.

Thanks agn!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125106] New: Calc Cell Protection - unable to change protection state of a mixed group of cells

2019-05-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125106

Bug ID: 125106
Summary: Calc Cell Protection - unable to change protection
state of a mixed group of cells
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ro...@uk2.net

Description:
With the sheet protection turned off, selecting a group which contains both
protected and unprotected cells, then trying to use Format Cells - Cell
Protection to either change all cells to the protected or unprotected state
does not work.

The Protected box in the Cell Protection menu is fixed as a horizontal dash, in
earlier versions of LibreOffice this could be toggled between ticked and
cleared so all cells were changed to the same protection state.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use Tools and untick Protect Sheet...
2. Select some cells which have been protected and some which are unprotected.
3. Select Format Cells.. and then Cell Protection.
4. Click on the Protected box.

Actual Results:
The Protected box shows a fixed horizontal dash (-). This does not change if
you keep clicking on it.

Expected Results:
When you repeatedly click on the Protected box this cycles through a clear
state (all cells unprotected), a dash (some cells in both states) and a ticked
state (all cells protected).

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
All of the boxes - Hide All, Protected, Hide formula and Hide when printing -
show the same problem.

Earliest release version with the problem is
Version: 6.2.0.1
Build ID: 0412ee99e862f384c1106d0841a950c4cfaa9df1
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-GB
Calc: threaded

Problem still exists on the two versions shown below.

Version: 6.2.4.0.0+
Build ID: df02927207ad19532f5c1ac5a5cf745559e47c22

Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 96ab20756316b25b7f2343a15596bc5114ea5a68

Version 6.1.5.2 works correctly as expected.

Not exactly. I tried LibreOffice 6.2 dev version dated 03.05.2019 installed by
deb packages.
It must to work RTL setting as "None". I think, it would be better to signed as
"new" or "under leading in".

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=f1579d3d6c5f5f3a651825e035b93bee7a4f43c6,
I wonder if RID_SVXITEMS_PAGE_NUMS in
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/svx/source/items/pageitem.cxx
shouldn't be replaced by RID_SVXSTRARY_NUMBERINGTYPE and the asserts modified.
Any thoughts?

All your links are off-topic, sorry. If you run into trouble with LibreOffice
Viewer please make a screenshot of the particular issue. Talking about the
desktop version there are options to change the colors. And again, supporting
the system theme / mode is what we aim for not a special solution with a button
or the like to switch from a to b.
